Rehn shook his head."If I were to let my guard down for a second people I care about would get hurt. or I would be attacked from behind. as long as Im on my guard that wont happen. he closed his eyes side stepping the humans that were walking in the opposite direction.

Mai smiled a bit sadly but refrained from shaking her head. She would just have to allow Rehn to have his opinions, it was sad that he lived in a world where he didnt think he could lower his guard but then again Mai wasnt on a crusade to change everyones beliefs either. If he felt comfortable in what he was doing then who was she to interferre and obviously he had good reason right. It was nothing to ruin the lovely trip either.

Rehn looked over at the sidewalk. There were some humans standing near a square box with a round piece of cloth attached to a stick. He looked at mai whhewhen the humans saw him. "be right back." He mutyered and walked over looking at them. After they spoke a bit amongst themselves they handed him a couple of items from the cart. He wagged his tail and handed mai one (hotdogs)"here." He said holding it out to her.

Mai tilted her head to the side as she watched as Rehnard ran over towards the humans. To her surprise they didn’t seem to chase him off with brooms. Vanna always said humans never really liked modifoxes all that well. With a smile she watched as he was handed food of some sort. When he offered her some she graciciously took it and began lightly nibbling on it. After all even If she hadn’t been around foxes for a while she still needed to practice her manners. “Its rather different” she admitted and went back to eating the food. “But a good different, thank you for getting it for me”

Rehnard looked at her with some intrest."Modifoxes like us are commonplace here. everywhere you look they are around. some live with humans even." he looked at a newstand and saw a male sitting beside it. He was always surprised however that humans never tried to get animal control on the many foxes. Although he figured it was because they figured with the city being much warmer then the frozen tundra outside it they could relate.
"I wouldnt mind living in a place like this." he admitted.

Mai tilted her head to the side and thought about living in such an interesting village. “Well for me I think I wouldn’t mind living right outside it. I guess I just like Nature too much to live in such a busy place. I mean there are soo many things to see and stuff. Then again this kind of place is fun too. So living in the forest but close to the city would work because then you would be in walking distance of both.” Mai pondered. “Or at least that’s my take on the whole thing” she said with a slight blush knowing she had a thing about rambling on.

Rehn thought for a second and nodded."that could easily work too"he gave her a smile and looked around."perhaps we should get going I think theres a forest outside of the city the way we were going. If you want I could help you find shelter there. If we do I could visit to make sure you dont need anything" he looked to the side blushing.

Mai thought about it. She wasn’t quite ready to stop traveling the world but it would be nice to have a home base and to stay in one place for a while and look she even knew someone from the area. “Alright I think I would like that” Mai finally spoke up. It wasn’t good manners after all to keep one waiting for an answer. She gave a sweet smile towards her companion and wondered what should she use to decorate and make her home all personal. Oh she could do that later once she saw where she would be living. It wouldn’t be something overly gaudy or feminine no Mai wasn’t like that, it would just be a few stuff to make the place seem more like home she supposed.

Rehnard nodded and continued towards the end of the city limits."It'll be an hour or so before we get there so keep up." he grinned picking up his pace. He liked the city but the forest out side of it was a good place for Mai, it was inhabited by enough foxes and the ecosystem there was stable. shed be able to survive if he wasnt around and she stayed.

Oh it was a bit sad that their journey through the human town was getting cut in half but Mai did have to agree that getting a place to call her own did sound nice. She was a bit anxious to start making it a home instead of a cave or den in the hillside. Hmm she wondered if Mr. Rehn would be by often to say Hi. Then again Mai would probably do a lot of exploring as well. She did like seeing new things. Of course this whole area was pretty new to her so her curiosity would be settled for a while at least.
“Alright I’ll try my best to keep up” Mai replied towards his comment about keeping up. Having lived with brothers learning how to keep up was quite natural after all.

Rehnard continued towards the place he had in mind. He couldnt help but feel anxious about seperating from the female. Shanking the thoughts off he kept his pace deciding he would simply find another cave nearby hers and stay there. with a nod he started letting his eyes search around as they got closer and closer to the destination

Mai studied Rehn as they had gone quite again and she had thought enough about what she wanted to do to her new home. He seemed rather anxious about something. She nibbled on her lip and wondered if it was her place to ask what was bothering him. She didn’t know him well enough just yet to see if it was something that she could help with and she definitely didn’t want him to think of her as annoying. If he got more troubled about it though she would definitely speak up and try to help even if she didn’t get anywhere.

Rehnard stopped and looked over at mai when they reached a spot with plety of possible homes, trees a cave or 2 a cliff with a rock overhang"Hey might as well ask, what kind of home are you looking for exactly?" he asked politely and with a caring tone that was odd to him.

Mai tilted her head to the side to think about it. What exactly did she want in a home? She had never really had a permanent residence before just choosing to settle down in a comfy place when ever she wanted rest for a couple of days. She looked over towards Rehnard since it was always polite to face the fox you where about to talk to. “Well I’m not too sure, but if I look around I am pretty sure I’ll find something that calls out to me by looking around.” Mai suggested. After all if you weren’t sure the next best thing would be to try stuff out.

Rehnard sighed."well suit yourself. I guess I could help you try out a few places." his ear flicked, and he looked around for which area to go to first. he started walking towards one of the caves. and peeked inside, quickly being shooed aay by another fox. he moved to the next one and saw it wasnt inhabited."hmmm lemme see here...."
