More questions and Mitsu was hard pressed to remember exactly what it looked like and the taste that came to mind was very abstract. It was hard to explain. "I..I'm not sure if how I would explain it would make sense. I don't remember what it looks like exactly..but the taste always made me think of a full moon." It was strange, it really was and Mitsu knew it but it was what she associated with the taste.
As Xiu went to collect the finished waffles Mitsu tried to give a little more thought on the matter but nothing else was really coming to mind. Instead, she turned to their finished waffles pleased to see they had turned out well.
"They do look good," Mitsu smiled picking up the booberries to move them closer giving the whipped cream Xiu had made a look over. "What should we start with first?"

"The moon, hmmm?" Closing her eyes, Xiu crossed her arms and hummed thoughtfully. "The only cake that I know of that might fit that category...is yuè bĭng." Could it be the same thing? Her grandmother always brought the little decorative cakes over every year.
Grinning, she looked over the toppings--syrup, whipped cream, and booberries--before giving a little nod. "Why don't you try some of the cream with booberries first, since you haven't tried waffles with those before?" Grabbing a spoon, she put a dollop of cream on one of her own waffles, along with scattering a few booberries on top. "Like this!"
Picking up one of the cream-covered berries from off her waffle, the Baku popped it into her mouth with a smile. Yup, this batch of booberries was nice and sweet. She hoped that Mitsu would like them!

"Yuè bĭng?" Mitsu thought over the name for a moment but it didn't sound familiar. Then again it could easily be the same thing and her mother hadn't called it that. "Does it have a filling inside it?" The cakes always had a sweet filling inside that Mitsu always liked though she never knew what it was. Her brother hadn't even known.
Watching Xiu prepare her waffle with the cream and booberries the lycan stepped forward to do the same with one of her own. Carefully she put a little of the cream in the middle of one of her waffles and picked up a few booberries to spread over the whole thing. Curiously she picked up one of the berries to pop in her mouth her eyes lighting up slightly at the taste.
"These are good." She smiled before grabbing a fork to have her first bite of everything together. When she finally bit into her first piece the look on Mitsu's face said it all. She really enjoyed the waffles and while they weren't the same they were just as good if not better. And she had helped!

"Yes! But um, they're usually different fillings..." She trailed off for a moment to try to recall a couple of them. "There's...red bean? And...oh! Lotus paste, with an egg yolk in the middle!" If this wasn't what Mitsu was talking about, then Xiu was certain that having a whole yolk in the center of a cake sounded odd. It was pretty good, though! ...It was also almost that time of year. Perhaps she could ask her grandma to send some over for her to share with her friends!
Xiu laughed at Mitsu's reaction, looking pleased that her friend liked it. "They're good, aren't they?" She cut a small piece of her own waffle with a fork and popped it in her mouth. Yup, booberries with cream was still her favourite waffle topping. It looked like Mitsu had recovered from her nightmare as well, or at the very least, had her mind drawn away from it.
"I hope that you can eat another two though," The Baku laughed, putting down her plate so that she could open up the waffle iron to retrieve the last four. At least they were relatively small!

"I don't remember egg yolk..." Mitsu tried to think back and remember but the memory itself wasn't very clear at all. Mostly she just remembered how she felt when she got to have a piece of the cake. Which was usually happy and content. "Maybe I'll remember at some point."
Lost in thought she continued to munch away at her waffle and when she finished the one with booberries and cream she poured a little bit of syrup over the other and started to nibble away at it. "I can try to eat two more." Mitsu said eyeing Xiu as she retrieved the other four waffles. They were small but normally Mitsu didn't eat a lot...so this was a lot of food.
"We should make other toppings at some point." Mitsu said thoughtfully as she continued to eat her waffle. "Maybe scareberries or umm...not sure. We could have a waffle party." Yes, that sounded fun. A party revolving around waffles...what wasn't to like?

Xiu simply smiled and shook her head. "Oh well, that's okay! If you remember sometime, let me know, okay?" If it was a food that Mitsu particularly enjoyed, then she wanted to learn how to make them and surprise her with a batch in the future. She had been speaking honestly before--she genuinely appreciated all the people she had met at this school, and Mitsu as no exception.
"Good, because this is a little too much for me as well." The Baku admitted, cutting into one of her new waffles. They were tasty though, so fortunately it wasn't too much of a chore to fit them away, whether she was full or not.
The idea certainly got Xiu's attention, and she clapped her hands together. "That...that sounds like a good idea! A waffle party...or maybe we can have another sleepover? With Lizzy and the other ghouls?" A sleepover where the guests arrived in the evening, and they could make dinner or bake together? And in the morning...waffles! It seemed like a fun idea!

"A bigger sleep over?" A sleep over with Lizzy sounded fine but...how many other people did Xiu have it mind? As Mitsu popped another piece of waffle in her mouth a hand came up so that a finger could nervously scratch at her cheek. Would she be able to get away with wearing a mask at a bigger sleep over? With Lizzy there Mitsu was doubtful. The ghoul had pushed her about the mask at Prom and finally a middle ground was met on the matter. Mitsu wasn't so certain she would be giving on round two.
Maybe thought...maybe she could do it. Time would tell. "I think it sounds fun." Mitsu smiled slightly trying to hide the slight nervous tone to her voice. When she could eat no more Mitsu stepped back from her plate. "I think I'm full." Think wasn't part of the equation. Mitsu knew she was full but she hadn't wanted good food to go to waste.

The nervous tone hadn't gone unnoticed by the Baku, and she reached out to pat at Mitsu's shoulder with a smile. "Umm...ghouls you've met before! I think you saw Levi at prom, right. And...Junko?" At least, both ghouls had been--or stopped by--their table, though Xiu wasn't sure if she was actually acquainted with either of them. Humming thoughtfully, she tapped at her chin as she thought. Though if Mitsu really was uncomfortable...
"Or a small ghoul party would be fine too! You, Lizzy, and I?" Regardless of whether it was large or small, Xiu was certain that it would be a great deal of fun. She did want to have the lycan interact with others more often, though! Perhaps someday she would find that wearing her mask in this school was unnecessary! No one would make fun of her here.
...Or if they dared to, they would have to deal with Mitsu's angry friends.
Laughing, Xiu finished off a final bite of her waffles and emitted a little sigh. It really had been a lot of food...but it had been really tasty too. "Thank you for helping me make breakfast!"

"Y..yes I have met Levi and Junko." Well, there was a bit of hope that she might get through a sleep over with them. Levi was a little wild but she was nice and Junko seemed very sweet. Maybe it was what Mitsu needed. Or at least she could tell herself that though there would no doubt be butterflies in her stomach until the sleepover actually happened.
Xiu was quick to try and make up for it though offering a sleep over with just Lizzy and the two of them. Well, that would be easier, Mitsu knew Lizzy pretty well and trusted her. "E..either way...would be fine." The confidence wasn't quite there but Mitsu was trying to leave it open to the opportunity. It did not help her cause to shut herself off...just doing something about it was very hard indeed.
"It's no trouble at all." Mitsu said placing the dishes in the sink. The lycan felt tired and now with a full belly she was thinking about sleep once again. It was still early after all. "I'm getting sleepy again.." Mitsu admitted quietly.

Hmm, well, she would have to think about this and talk to Lizzy about it! She wanted Mitsu to be comfortable, but she also wanted to help Mitsu slowly ease herself into a level of comfort with the other ghouls. Until then though, she simply smiled and nodded, tucking the topic away for safe-keeping.
Good thing too, since it looked like Mitsu was looking a little drowsy. Reaching out, Xiu took her friend by the shoulders and turned her around, giving her a very gentle push out towards the futons. "Go get some rest! I'm just going to wash up the dishes real quick." She paused, considering the fact that the lycan might protest, before adding, "There aren't really many dishes to wash, so it'll be quick and easy. Go on!"
It was early still, and considering the nightmare, Xiu was certain that Mitsu could use a little more sleep. As for her...well, she would work on some homework and assignments while her friend rested. As the Baku had no intention of randomly invading her friend's dream again, she would simply have to keep a lookout and gently shake Mitsu awake if it looked like she was having a nightmare again.

"B..but.." As Xiu expected Mitsu was about to protest as the baku pushed her back toward the comfort of the futons. After the ghoul's short explanation though Mitsu reluctantly agreed. "O..okay."
Making her way back over to the futons Mitsu settled into her sleeping bag again snuggling down to try this sleep thing again. It didn't take long for her to relax at least, her ears twitching slightly hearing Xiu move around. After a moment or two she finally closed her eyes and drifted back to sleep. This time is was thankfully more peaceful.

Once everything was washed up, Xiu poked her head out of the kitchen area to check on her friend, smiling when she realized that she had already dozed off. Poor Mitsu. At least it looked like she wasn't having a nightmare, so hopefully she would manage to get more sleep.
Tiptoeing towards her desk, she settled into her seat and cracked open her textbook. The faster she got through her assignments, the better. After all, she still had a lunch to plan for when Mitsu woke up.
Now, what of lunch should she make? There were so many possibilities...
