Daichi was just about to ask exactly why there was a big bell in her home when she mentioned her cousin. s**t! Idiot! Idiot! Idiot! Why the hell did he have to go ahead and ask that? "Oh..." No, he shouldn't say 'oh', he should apologise...or something! "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have brought that up" He added, head low.

Her head jerked to look at him firmly, frowning.
"Daichi." She whispered, shaking her head. "It was a long time ago." She said quietly, voice lowering a bit. She padded up to the male, touched his paw, and batted him with her tail, violently. "Dork, it's fine." She said, shaking her head side to side once more. "Do I seem someone to cry over a death that happened awhile ago?"
Though even while she said this her eyes watered, ears flicking back as her voice cracked.

No she didn't seem like the type, but that didn't mean the past didn't hurt.
All it took was that look in her eye, and something just clicked. Daichi walked over to her silently, and moved his paw around her in a sort of half-hug. " He must have meant a lot to you." He said, struggling to come up with something, anything, to make things better. Daichi should be good at cheering others up, helping his brothers when they were younger. Yet, he couldn't think of anything.
He sighed " I don't know what to say. Tell me what to say."

Her tail had swept to hit him when he gave her a half-hug, though it stopped. It was strangely comforting. Daichi's presence gave her suppressed sorrow a startle, abruptly wearing away at it until she felt it give away. The vixen looked up at him, half tempted to either shove him away or just to ruffle his hair, change the mood. Divert from her obvious change of emotions. Though she didn't.
She was struck silent. Up close like this he felt warm and inviting. He was muscular now that she noticed, someone that could protect someone they loved. His soft voice only made it worse, her ears flopping back to look at the male with wide eyes.
Hesitating where she was, she sucked in a deep breath. Finally she merely licked his muzzle in response, looking down for a few minutes. "It's okay, you don't need to say anything."

And he didn't say anything. Because sometimes actions speak louder than words. Daichi chuckled softly, taking a deep breath. Opening his heart and leaving it unguarded he kissed her softly.
For a moment he just looked at her. But then he decided a much better option was looking at the floor. A blush spread across his face and dread in his chest. Would she be mad? Reject him? What if she kicked him out? He wanted to apologise, but...he wasn't sorry.

When he moved closer she made a move to swat at him, the feeling of her heart fluttering catching her off-guard. Why was she acting so...strange?
Then he kissed her.
Her mind whirled a mile. When he pulled away and looked down the blunt vixen wondered if it had been a mistake. She stared at him, her heart pounding and paws kneading the ground. He looked...ashamed..
"Why are you looking down?" Of course she would ask that. "Are you ashamed? Was that an accident? Was it to shut me up? Was it to stop me from acting more vulnerable?" She asked, tail flicking. Lowered heads meant shame...

He gave Euphemia a startled look. "What? No! Of course not." Ack, how could he explain this? Why was it so hard? Great, she must feel really bad. He felt really bad for making her feel bad.
"I was looking down because...because" Because what? He was afraid? Daichi's heart was going a million miles a minute as he took a deep breath. He started again I...I like you Euphemia. As in, I want...Would like... you to be my...mate." He said the last word in a small voice, feeling vulnerable. "And i was looking down because i thought you don't feel the same way. That you'd be angry." He finished quickly, just wanting to get it all out as quickly as possible.

She blinked at him. Perhaps it was because she herself didn't see why anyone would desire her but she took that differently then he intended.
"You kiss all your friends?" She asked, having heard only the "I like you" part. Then she stopped, eyes widening. As mates? Her ears flicked back as she stared at him, tail flicking.
"Mates? Do you know what a mate is? Do you understand what you mean by this? Surely.. you can't....me?" Her last word came out small, eyes locked onto his. "You really like me?"

Daichi shrugged " Yes, i know what I mean by asking you to be my mate." He said to the first batch of questions. He felt a flicker of hurt. Was being his mate so awful? But then that passed the second she asked her final question.
"Why wouldn't i? Euph, you are funny and kind and beautiful and, well, you. And...and I would be happy- no, estatic, to call you mine" He was still a little nervous, afraid even. She still hadn't said she felt the same.

Watching him, the vixen looked to the side. It was her turn, right? She was so blunt and yet when it came to mattering the most she found her bluntness recoiling. Though, her tail flicked to the side violently, knocking over a can. Now, seeming to be reassured, she looked over at him, swallowing.
"I...." She looked away, ears flicking back. Could she share this tower with him? Could she allow herself to snuggle up beside him? Could she allow her guard down that much?
She only knew one way to say it, the usual way. "Idiot! I like you too!" Ah. Better.

Joy coursing though his veins he darted forwards to nuzzle her. " Really? Oh, Euphy this is great. Brilliant." He crowed with a goofy smile. He tried again, hopefully he would say something" I mean...great. Just great" And now he was repeating himself like a buffoon. But really, did Daichi care? Nope! All he could think of was that she liked him. She actually liked him!

When he moved quickly she almost slammed her paw into his face, startled into a defensive reaction. However, his nuzzle and words left the blunt vixen dazed, head jerking away. "Moron it isn't that..." She wanted to say not that exciting but...
"If you tell anyone of this I'll murder you." She warned, moving into the rest her head on his shoulder, tail flicking to touch his. Seriously, murder. She'd murder the male she claimed as her.

He missed the swipe by inches. Lucky, that would have hurt. Unfazed, Daichi smirked and raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really? Then what is it?" He chuckled
He welcomed the touch, humming a random tune softly. "Fine, but i'll make sure to haunt you." He teased

"Haunt all you like, you'd still be dead." She grumbled darkly back, looking up at him quietly. Hrn. Jerk. She still was not amused at how he stole, yes, stole her affections. She'd find out how and promptly smack him for doing such a thing. Either way, the masked boy wasn't.... it wasn't bad. She liked it, even if it alarmed her. It was a good feeling having someone beside her.
"Though, living arrangements." She could...follow him. Perhaps.
