Lillian found it amusing to watch Aisha’s reaction when she first arrived in the dream world. Unfortunately, her plea seemed to fall on death ears as every other agent was watching her before her outfit changed. Giggling softly to herself, she glanced briefly at the vitals of the team and the dreamer, nodding in satisfaction before sneaking a peek at the O’Tooles. She was glad they were all trapped in the pod – the scientist hated it when clients tried to talk to her. Communication was not her strong suit, and it tended to make her anxious when forced into conversations with people she did not know. It normally manifested as a passive aggressive silence where she would concentrate very hard on her work until the stranger got fed up and went away. She felt a little bad for being like that, but new people were always such a struggle for her. Living with the Dream Catchers was safe to her; surrounding her with familiar people she enjoyed spending time with.

She flexed her wrist, playing with the little black beads tied around her left wrist before sighing and lying back in her chair. The girl hugged her slender legs to her chest, resting her chin on her knees as she watched the monitors, the teams vitals overlaid in her contact lenses. Occasionally, she would type in some commands to slightly alter the mixture of gasses in the chamber. The chemicals used to put the agents in a state they could sync their minds were borderline illegal, filled with all sorts of tranquilisers and hallucinogens. They had to be kept in a careful balance so as not to render the dreamers too heavily sedated to dream while also making sure they did not overdose their minds with the other drugs. The system was largely automatic now thanks to the regular calibrations she had instituted, but sometimes events during a dream would cause some vital or other to spike. It was her job to make sure she released the correct chemical to get that back into balance and maintain the dream state without damaging the dreamer.

“Is that really a guy?” asked Lilli to no one in particular as the little girl’s Guardian appeared in Dominic’s monitor. The slender frame could have made him just an effeminate male, but he was wearing stockings…

Shrugging her shoulders lightly, she yawned and span around in her chair a few times. Sometimes these missions could be so boring. She would much rather continue her tinkering, but they really did need someone to keep an eye on them. Dominic had tried to persuade her to become an agent once, but she had turned it down almost immediately. While she was confident she could do it, there as a part of her that disliked the idea of getting to know her mind better. She normally loved to take things apart to see how they worked but, for some reason, the red-eyed girl could not shake the feeling that it would be a bad idea for her. She was aware how deficient she was in some ways, it made her frightened of how that would manifest in her mind. It was childish but she had never been one to go out of her comfort zone.

“Watch your tongue human!” The young man hissed at Dominic as the end of the staff pointing at Dominic’s chest suddenly turned into a gleaming sharp spear that could impale Dominic. Aisha nearly gasped in fright when the young cat-like man threatened Dominic with the pointed spear. She was almost sure that Dominic was going to be attacked and had no clue why their leader kept egging the young man on. What on earth was Dominic playing at? No doubt this individual was Maggie’s guardian.

“You say you don’t need our help, then tell me where the inhabitants of the Dream World have gone? It’s awful quiet here for the mind of a child? Dominic continued in a casual tone. The change was quick and great as the young man seemed to deflate at the question. He swung his spear away from Dominic’s chest and hung his head in sadness. “It took them away this morning...the monster.” Dominic dropped his laid back air and his voice was serious and sharp. “You mean it has been consuming the inhabitants? Thus, it has been consuming parts of your Mistresses subconscious...What on earth have you been doing? You are her Guardian! Where is your Mistress?” Dominic demanded. The Guardian frowned and turned to look back behind him, up at the magnificent Castle. “My name is Mehtashk...and my Mistress has locked herself up in the Castle...she wont let me in...” Again Mehtashk’s face was filled with resentment. “I’m not the Guardian she wanted. My Mistress wanted a ‘Prince Charming in shining armor.’ When I developed into this form... disappointed...she refused to accept me as her Guardian. And now that monster hunts the valley and I...I cannot stop it...” Mehtashk’s hands were curled into tight fists as he confessed this, his weakness and the rift between him and the own he must protect. Dominic looked less angry himself as he assessed the situation and replied in a soothing and reassuring voice. “Then, we will help you defeat this monster and earn your Mistress’s trust and respect." Mehtashk turned back to look up at Dominic and a smile crept over his face as he gave a small nod. He will do whatever it took to prove his worth to his Mistress, for her to recognize him as her true Guardian. But then...

“LOOK OUT!“ Mehtashk bellowed as he jumped backwards up the stairs. Aisha whipped around and, with the hypersensitivity of her suit, bending the area surrounding the agents and horses into a see through blue bubble-like barrier. The blazing fire slammed into the barrier and even on the inside the agents could hear the flames burn at the barrier, hissing and crackling, burning the section where the blast hit, though with deep focus Aisha was able to hold up the barrier and maintain it’s strength. Though, just at first blow, the Dream Eater was displaying great strength and tactfulness. It must have been lurking around them while Dominic had been conversing with the Guardian and seized the prime moment to attack while the group was still unaware of its presence. It was able to keep such great power hidden from their senses...yes...this Dream Eater knew what it was doing.

Along with elemental type attacks, Aisha worked to provide the team barriers to protect from such attacks and give cover. Dominic had whipped around and unsheathed his sword. “Minera! Attack at left leg! Animus! You take the right leg! Careful for its blazing breath, Aisha aim for its wings, watch out for those scythe-like hands!” Dominic was barking commands before he whirled around to see that the Guardian had frozen in fear, though the hands that held the staff were visibly shaking. “Damn it Mehtashk ! You must expel this Dream Eater! Summon your courage!”

Samantha Herring

Amazed by the appearance of Maggie's guardian, Sam was unsure of what to think of him. This was supposed to be the most powerful being here, after the dreamer of course. He looked to have skill with dexterity and swiftness, but she would have to see that with her own eyes. When he made a move on Dominic, Sam had her word in hand but had not unsheathed it because Dom didn't react. He clearly new that he wasn't going to die, but she moved her hand to her sword as a message that they would not tolerate violence towards the ones that came to save the guardian and his dreamer. She listened intently to what Mehtashk had to say about the current situation. Sam was unfazed by his sob story about not being what his dreamer wanted him to be. It was a little pitiful that one so powerful could be devastated in such a way. Strangely enough however, Sam had thought that the guardian was created by the unconscious mind, so Maggie must not realize what she truly wants yet.

At any rate, Mehtashk continued on until he screamed out, leaping away in fear. They all turned around to see the huge monster with bat-like wings, horns and scythes for hands. After it's attack and Aisha's protective bubble lowered, Dom commanded the attack. It was Theta formation. Knowing the strategy, Sam leapt over the dream eater's swinging claw and made her way around the monstrosity. It was huge and quick. Sam had to try extremely hard not to get stepped on while dodging the scythes and fire. Sam was adverse to using magic in the dream world of another because it had a heavier effect on the stability of the environment, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Imbuing her blade with an electrical current, Sam slashed at the beast leaving a shallow gash just were the joint was. The monster wailed a horrid cry and swept around, hitting her with its arm. Sam held onto the dream eater greatly reducing the damage done by allowing her body to go with the flow of its power. Now with the beast thoroughly distracted, it would now be easier for the rest of the team to disable it for the final blow which Mehtashk would have to deliver

((CLEEEEEAAAARRRLYY you would only be able to see them in compromising positions and I'm sure she won't be squatting the whole time XD lol))

When she opened her eyes, Loretta found herself standing in a small clearing in a copse of trees. The air smelled fresh and clean, nothing like the cities she was so used to being in. It made her smile for a moment, before she realised she was alone. Cursing under her breath, the girl figured it must have been another sync error. They had been happening to her more often recently, she really needed to speak to Lillian about why that was so. Sighing, she pushed some of her long red hair out of her face and pushed her way through the trees.

She found herself on a grass plain, the wind blowing its way through the long strands. On the hill ahead of her was a large castle. It was a classic scenario and one that she was well trained for. Closing her eyes for a moment, she thought of an illustration she had noticed on Lilli's screen when she had been hanging out with her a few days ago. Opening her eyes, she smiled at her outfit and the shiny knives on her belt. Her midriff was exposed but she did not care. The others might do themselves up like knights or something else, but her body was her weapon and it worked better unrestricted.

Breaking into a fast run, the mile or so between her and her destination faded quickly. It was a little risky enhancing her speed beyond human levels but with no witnesses, she could get away with cheating a little. A part of her worried about the lack of other people around. An empty mind was a sick mind, had the Dream Eater been in this child's mind so long? It made her frown, her green eyes flashing as she felt a surge of anger. Upping her pace, she was almost a blur as she loped up the hill.

A sudden roar brought her up short. Cursing again, Lorie unsheathed her knives and began to circle around the fight. She could probably take it head on, but that would require attracting a lot of attention to herself and that could turn a sure win into a loss if the Dream Eater was still tricking the mind into thinking it belonged.

She watched as the rest of her team split, falling into one of their standard attack formations. Her green eyes widened as the back of its arm struck Samantha hard. How the girl had managed not to get impaled on the spikes on the back of its arm was a miracle in itself, but she did not have time to admire her superior's good fortune.

Sheathing her weapons, Loretta was a blur as she rushed up the side of the hill slightly behind the Dream Eater, leaping into the air and catching the armoured girl. The wind was driven out of her lungs at the impact, her legs straining as she landed hard on the ground and slid back a few paces. "That was lucky," said the agent with a laugh, setting the other female down. "Your outfit is a little torn up but I think you're fine." Giving her a lopsided grin, she dashed off to join the fight.

Her intended target was one of the Dream Eater's wings. If she damaged it enough, it would lose the ability to fly and that would make this fight a lot easier. They could use their abilities to fly too, but that would definitely attract the wrong kind of attention.

She leaped up behind the beast while Dominic and Aisha distracted it with their own attacks. Smiling as she descended, the cursed as the Dream Eater reared back with its massive horned head. Fire burst forth from it, forcing her to call on her own powers to avoid it. The blast of water changed her trajectory, letting her land just behind it. Unfortunately, her used of her water abilities had alerted it to her presence and the back of a massive scythe came right towards her. Leaping backwards, she felt the sharp blade whisper across the front of her chest followed by the sound of tearing fabric. Looking down with wide eyes, she was glad to find her black crop-top had been torn away to reveal a brown bra underneath. She had been worried about her ample bosom being exposed, but it seemed her subconscious had been prescient enough to add suitable undergarments to her imagined outfit.

((Dom was sitting next to Samantha who was standing up. I think he could have gotten a peek. razz

Anyway, that attack was my excuse for explaining the silly part of her outfit pic with the black top cut away to have her ample bosom on display. razz ))

Thank you Xaimee and DarianJames for being active rpers and participants in the Dream Catcher. However, I need to drop the DreamCatcher rp for now due to time constraints. I can’t find the time to move the rp along properly and I don’t want to keep everyone hanging like this. I may revive the rp in the summer, but for right now putting it on hiatus.

Thank you for your understanding,
Hoshiko
