“Such a disappointment. Don’t you have a bit more bite left in you, little squirrel?” He sighed and stared at the phim. “Well now one thing looses it bite and another finds it. Such fun.” He was growing bored of tormenting this pair of foxes though. The heat of this land was uncomfortable and he found himself thinking of his home. He felt an even stronger urge to go when the phim started speaking again.
“I wasn’t trying to treat you like a kit Mary. I just … ” Charis sighed not really sure how to tell his side of the story to her. “Anyone being bullied is not pleasant to watch. I was merely trying to get him to stop.” He felt bad that Mary thought she was being degraded in such a manner. “I apologize.”

Mary gave a slight glare at Radu for a moment before sighing. It felt so weird to feel this type of aggression but it felt good. She would meditate on it later when she didn't have the source of this feeling in front of her. "I"ll show bite..." she grumble as she looked at Charis her tail moving gently back and forth as he spoke.
"Bullying..." she didn't like how it seemed he kept finding ways that she was constantly weak. She mearly gave a louder sigh letting more of her emotions vent. She wasn't going to act aggressive to the phim. She knew he only had the best thing for her in his mind. "I understand."

Radu snorted at the vixen’s comment. “I suppose that’s the best you can do? Such a pity. I suppose I’ll just take my leave of you two fools for now. Who knows maybe I’ll track you down again little squirrel.” Radu treated Marry to his most offensive flirtatious wink he had in his arsenal before shoving off the ground and kicking up dirt and dead grass everywhere.
Smiling Charis looked at Marry wondering how she could possibly understand. “When I was younger I didn’t speak. I found it hard to be around others much less open my mouth and have a coherent sentence come out. Needless to say I was teased and bullied often enough. I don’t like seeing it happen. Even though I should be over it all by now, it’s still painful to be around.” Bowing his head Charis retreated a bit to give Marry some space to think.

Mary was caught off guard by the flirty wink Radu sent her. Their was mo sudden thrill or even the petty thought of him wanting her. Just another mind game she would not play. She did have to admit that the intimidation factor of his size and looks were amplified by his size. "First daeva I meet and he made me feel more uncomfortable then any fox ever did." She spoke vaguely to no one in particular.
She turned her self to listen to Charis as he discloused a part of his life. A small empathic smile crossed her face as she listened to him. She knew it was something personal he just told her and felt better, "I understand why you don't like it. I'm not flustered at you exactly. I just don't want you thinking of me as a vixen who can't do anything for herself." She said quietly looking away, a small blush appearing.

Confused Charis blinked a few times. “You not being able to take care of yourself?” He chuckled lightly. “That’s the furthest thing from my mind. You travel alone into what could be dangerous areas and you collect stories that most others would think trivial. On top of that I think you did just fine in dealing with ..” Charis waved a wing in the general direction that Radu flew off in. He didn’t was to say that Radu was a rotten fox because Charis was sure that Radu wasn’t all bad, but he couldn’t say that Radu was pleasant either. “Radu.” He finished rather tightly deciding not to say anything else.

"Yea....trival." she murmered looking at the groun for a moment. Her world felt shaken since Radu came. Now though she just felt like Charis was looking down at her. She knew he wasn't but she was still agitated by Charis.
"Suppose I did. What do you plan to do after you leave here?" She asked blankly.

Was Marry sulking? Charis watched her look down at the ground. He wasn’t sure why but he suddenly felt like apologizing. He wondered what he said to put his wings in his mouth again. He was about to speak when she asked her question.
“Well I suppose I’ll head back to my tribe. I should be getting back soon anyway. I know my job isn’t all that important, but I enjoy doing it.” He took a moment to think. “Marry when I get back to the tribe I’ll be sure and ask if they have any old stories and I’ll be sure and memorize them so that if we meet again I can share them with you.” Charis smiled warmly at the prospect of being able to help his new friend further her quest.

"I see. And I would like that." She said giving him a half hearted smile. "Honestly I wish we didn't have to part ways." She said sweetly as she headed back to the water to take a drink from it unknowing if what she said sunk in.
As she lowered her head to drink from the cool water she loved its refreashing taste. "I think stories from your tribe would be some of the most interesting to hear. That would also mean they have information on the human nest." She said with a bit more energy.

“Neither would I. It’s not very often I come across such an amazing fox like you Miss Marry. I’m glad I got the chance to speak with you.” Charis smiled happy to make a new and wonderful friend. He chuckled at the thought of a human nest.
“Yes Humans have huge cave like things and many nests contained within each one. It’s odd to think of but it’s how they are. I think the humans could lives their whole lives in their dens, but that’s just me.”

"I myself." She said turning her head to look at Charis a sweet smile on her face. "Although you needed me to save you from the big scary fox." She mocked as she gave a slight tilt of her head.
"That seems...interesting." She said for a moment before a large smile came on her face as a potentially disastrous idea entered her head. "We should sneak in and explore one! It'll be just like when my friend and several foxes entered a cougar den...with the cougar still in it." Her innocence shown as she moved toward him a wide smile on her face. "Although we would wait for them to leave of course.

Charis stuck out his tongue and shut his eyes at Marry in response to her teasing. He knew that she didn’t mean it in any mean way. He opened his eyes in surprise at her next statement though.
Go into a human den?!? There were so many things that could go wrong with that, Charis was having a hard time thinking of all the ways it could happen. “You’d have to be very careful. If the humans came back there could be trouble.. and you might have to go with a normal fox.. My wings would only get in the way in such a small space. Though if you want I can stay outside as a guard and distraction. I’d be able to warn you if a human came back.”

Mary tooked a step back when the sudden surprise look from Charis startled her. She had to admit, his sweet disposition could quickly vanish due to his size. "I suppose." She mused for a moment before stepping closer.
"Oh stop being such a downer!" She said to him brightly before tilting her head to the side and adding a slight seductive tone to her voice, "but if you did go you could be my personal hero." An innocent smile crossed her face.

Charis figured his sudden outburst had scared Mary, but he was serious human’s were dangerous. Didn’t she know that. He supposed not given the things they had discussed before. He sighed and placed his paw over the bridge of his muzzle. How could he explain this? “I’m not being a downer. Humans really are dangerous. Yes we do take from them in the city, but if we take too much we get hunted. Humans are good at destroying what they don’t understand. Breaking into a human den is no joke. You seem to think I’m some kind of brave hero. Mary I want you to forget that idea right now. I’m a coward. Plain and simple.” He closed his eyes and hung his head. “Still I can’t let you go alone… I… I’ll come.” He felt his insides tense at the thought. “Someone has to keep you safe, who knows we might have to track down Radu… I’m sure roasting humans wouldn’t be an issue for him.”
