Lucian awoke as dark fell and waited for the moon to raise. When it did, he launched off the top of the tower and opened his wings, dropping a few feet in the air, scarring an officer in the tower. As Lucian leveled out, he started off in the direction of the trees in the town. He could smell the oak before he saw it, helping him find the way.

As he neared the big oak, Lucian slowed down by stalling in the air above the tree, making his decent a little unstable yet still controllable. He beat the air when he was just above the tree. He then folded his wings, while at the same time grabing on to the top of the tree. He climbed down until he had a good branch to lay on, yet a nice view above him. "I should of found this place first," he said to an owl that was nearby, "It smells of home, or as close to it." With that done he looked up and waited patiently for the moon to rise.

Through the afternoon Matilda repaired another gun, and started a third. When her father, Nim, returned he was greeted energetically with a hug. With a promise that she would be allowed to shadow him when he got to those repairs, and get to help test them out in the alley.
Into the evening her brother returned, dinner was served and consumed, and the family all took to their own rooms. The siblings each got a separate room due only to the fact that there were no other children in the house, but it took some time for Matilda to get used to sleeping alone after her brother got his own room.

((Just a little of what occurred during the time skip. If you guys end up making a loud noise or something I might need some hints as to how far you are from the shop.)))

Seth strolled on, keeping his face as straight as possible, though his eyes felt as if they were made of lead. Ladies of the night on the occassion would arouse themselves from the shadows of alleys and greet the officer, and if they didn't know him well enough they would offer him a "date" or something along those lines, but the Second Lieutenant would nod to them as a response to the greetings but ignore their offers and continue on, those that had known him enough would ask what he was up to, and Seth would have to stop a few seconds only to ask about the other officers, only about two to three had seen them but had moved away from their location of meeting. He gave out a slow, deep yawn whilst patting his mouth and smacked his lips a bit "I wouldn't mind a nice cup of water right now..." he sighed at this and looked up to the moon, the reminder that he still he had a meeting with Lucian at the oak, but in his mind he knew he had to take care of Geoff and his men, a superior all the same even if he was from another unit. "Where the hell is he now, and just what does he want?" He had been retracing his steps through the town in hopes that if the Captain had been asking around that he'd be following his tracks too...

Geoff and his counterpart, Clem, Continued to roam the dradfully empty streets. Had the men waitied till morning, A few people might have guided their way towards their quest. It didn't openly matter, It would just be slightly more difficult by this way. Of course, the luxury of stealth aways shined brightly in Geoff's mind. Clem was just following the supperior officer...

After about, twenty minutes of traversing the streets, Clem coughed, before speaking in the small voice he used around superiors. " Sir, I'da say I hear some horse, biggun too. Sounds just like that Dahy That fella has. " The man coughed, pointing away slightly.

Geoff nodded lightly. His raspy breathing stopped while he spoke, " Yes, Yes I hear them. " He in fact, had heard them. But in the silence of the dark, It was always best to stay stealthly. The masked man continued walking, until they turned the corner. Almost running into the fellow officer, Geoff stopped suddenly, almost toe to toe with him.

Clearing his raspy throat, Geoff spoke first. " We have been searching for you... " He said. Obviously, an omminous saying, It might even scare the junior officer slightly. Whether or not, Geoff toke a few seconds before continuing. " I have been given orders to investigate an incident. I will inform you of the concerns of this mission when there is a higher amount of privacy. For now, I am recruiting you to help the investigation. " Geoff immediately reached into his coat, and pulled out a scroll. The parchement was rolled, and sealed with wax. The wax bore the Seal of toe High Commandant of the Northern Base. This onl furthered Geoff's statements as true, and not some silly prank. Thi was a serious mission, and now, Seth Wrayburn was required to join in on the fun.

Seth gave one slow blink, "Goddamit Geoff, you better have a good reason for this... I already got word, and for all it's worth I'm not fond of being stalked." Seth retorted with a glance to his left and then back to the officers and the paper, his tone and expression showing a mix of annoyance but yet he was too tired to entirely care, and yet his ethics returned in a deep sigh and then a deep slow breath in again. The Lieutenant Colonel dragged a gloved hand down his face and then pinched the bridge of his nose inbetween his index's knuckle and thumb. "Did you at least tell the commander of my station?" The officer said letting his arm fall to his side.

Geoff's hard breathing was the nly sound to break the silence as seth bgan his nervous tick, so to say, of stress. Pinching his nose, sighing repeatedly, once again sighing, ad then questioning Geoff in an exasperated tone. " Of course, It is procedure. " Geoff replied. The man in the gasmask then looked seth up and down. " I may say, You look worse for the wear. What must be the problem? " Geoff questioned.

Clem answered for seth. " Well, Captain sir, I bet mista Wrayburn got himself a fine lookin' girl t go to, Don't he? " Clem smiled crookedly, revaling the crooked teeth behind. If people didn't get more country, shoot me now.

Seth chuckled, "Ah, I only wish tonight... No, wait... not really, if I did I wouldn't get any shut eye. A dame at this hour if up can turn to be very talkative..." There was a hint of a jest there in his voice, as he shook his head, and gave a weary smile looking up to the ranking officers, "It's just been a very busy work schedule for me is all. There's always something to be done. Paperwork has doubled, guns and other arms have been busting the likes of which I didn't even see occur during the war... Honestly, I must have rotten luck because I was sure- today would start my two day break." He took off his cap and combed his fingers through his hair, sighing through his nose causing them to flare. The silver crescents hugging his lower eyelids contrasted with the dim jade his eyes were now. Seth had not seen his bed in a fortnight, and that itself had been taking its toll on his body, though he had to suck it up and bear with it, but now atleast today would start his two day break, a chance for him to rest and enjoy his dusty and humble home. Alas, this warrant before him snickered that it wouldn't be so, and this brought the bitter flavor of dismay back to his tongue, but he swallowed it, and hid it for now. "Well, is that all you have to say?" He said voice soft but not low, "Am I supposed to follow you back now, or can I atleast have the chance to visit my bed?"

~Several Minutes later~

Seth and Dahy together cut through the trees and brushes like a bullet, the horse's muscles rippling through its pelt with every tread it made, the sound of hooves falling against was like a quiet soft thunder, it's breaths coming in hard and heavy through flaring nostrils as the beast sprinted off.

Seth's eyes gleamed as he watched ahead, making small twitches which Dahy would respond to by shifting its weight and changing directions depending.
A clearing through the trees opened to the park, Seth brought the horse to slow, and looked around, and then nodded knowing rerlatively where he was, and then brought Dahy to a trott, and made his way to the oak.
On not seeing the changeling, the officer pulled off his glove and let out a shrill whistle, and then again, and a third time.

Lucian stood up upon the branch he was on when he heard the three whistles and looked down to see Seth below. He started to climb down, making his path as straight as possible and when he was on the last branch, he jumped down, landing right in front of the tree, a few yards away from Seth. "Perfect timing, Lieutenant. As prompt as the military demands I see," he said walking forward leaving a few yards between them.

"That's Lieutenant Colonel to you, Changeling." Seth quipped back, with a quick glare and scowl. "Well, care to give me your story?" The officer said with a smug smirk as they pulled out the small piece of paper. The photo of Lucian and his family when he was younger, "Am I to judge correctly the young lad there is yourself, hmm?"

"You would be correct in that, Seth," he said cutting through all common courtesy at the sight of the photo. "You may also get my story since you might get the wrong idea if I don't explain," he said and moved back to the tree and sat down on one of its massive roots that stuck out from the ground.

Seth dismounted off the Irish Hunter and took a few steps towards Lucian but stopped, "Well... The night's not particularly young here... So..." And the officer gestured to Lucian for him to start.

"My full name is Lucian Addle," he said, leaning back against the tree. "I was born in this town almost eighteen years ago. I lived happily for five years. That picture you have in your hand was taken on my fourth birthday, the last time anything joyous happened to me," he said with a scornful laugh, "A month and a half before my fifth birthday, my wings started to grow. I hid them as best I could for I knew my parent's hate of the forest, especially my mothers." He looked up into the forest before continuing, "As my fifth birthday came and went it grew harder to hide my wings, the curse as I grew to call it then. My father was the first to find out about the wings just two months after my birthday. He was shocked and I begged him to not tell mother. He said he wouldn't tell only if I would leave his home, never to return again. I readily agreed to this and left that night, making my room messy, making it look like someone stole me, just to save my mother from knowing the truth about me."

He looked back down, looking straight at Seth, "I lived for another three months on the streets of this city, staying away from all those I knew, and those I loved. On the first day of the new month, my mother found me by chance. I shrank from her, but it was already too late. My clothes were ruined by then from the fights just for food so she saw all I was in its entirety. She screamed and cursed me with some odd language I was to learn later was the language of the fae. Even then I feared them in that moment, not knowing why. I escaped to the only place left for someone like me to go, the forest surrounding this place."

Lucian got up from the tree and turned towards it and laid a hand on its old bark, "I went there to die and was capture by the fae. The torture of the fae had gone on for probably a whole month before she save me. She was a mother before a monster for earlier that month; she had lost one of her children. She was more of a mother to me then my real mother. She taught me almost everything I know today."

Lucian drew back from the tree and turned back to Seth, "I was taught for five years before being almost killed by a group of monsters. My foster family wasn't so lucky, they died in that attack. I wept then, the first time since my wings grew. I also felt hatred at what they had done and what my real parents had done. I started to hunt."

Lucian smiled a very toothy grin as he continued, "I hunted creatures that were said to be more powerful than me, more cunning then me, yet they died. I was roughly fourteen before seeing another human, and I killed him to. He was hunting monsters probably for he carried a big gun. I said to myself that I acted in self-defense, but I knew. The next few humans that came out I tried to talk to. They all shot at me, trying to kill me. They too died. I left them there for the forest to eat. I continued to try to talk to the humans that came into the forest; none left the forest, save one."

Lucian grew somber and turned to the moon, “He was a young lad, probably ten to my fifteen years at the time. He did not try to shoot me, which was a smart move on his part. He looked at me and saw all the sorrow and anger in me. He asked me why I was in the forest. I told him it was my own choice and he had the tenacity to ask why. I saw that he did not fear the forest like the ones before him so I showed him my true form.” He laughed at the memory still fresh in his mind, “He didn’t run away; quite the opposite, he came up to me and asked, among all possible questions, what it felt like to fly. It caught me completely off guard. I told him the truth; that I didn’t take joy in flying but the hunt that came after. He only said one word; Pity. He then turned and started to leave. It was then that I made him promise not to reveal me to anyone unless he wanted to die. He promised, not fearing death in the slightest; I let him go. I never saw him again.”

Lucian looked back at Seth with a stoic smile on his face, “It was then that I swore not to kill humans anymore. Over the next three years I knocked out all humans I meet, taking any machinery they had and a few odd pieces of clothing here and there. I became fascinated with the little machines they had and took them apart. It was during those three years that denizens of the forest grew angry. They hated that I didn’t kill humans anymore and came at me in droves. All that came perished before me. They started to leave me alone after the first year and only the full hardy youths decided to try and take me on. Those I knocked out and brought back to their elders for them to deal with. Only yesterday did I dare come back to the place of my birth. And the rest you know,” he said, taking a canteen from his side and drinking from it. “I told you my story, make of it what you will,” he said, crossing his arms.

"Hmmm... I am aware of the Unseelie here but... I suppose I've underestimated their numbers...." Seth said quietly, saying this mostly to himself, bringing an arched finger to his lips in thought, his chin resting on the support of his thumb.
But then the officer smiled warmly and in the dark, Seth's eyes reflected the moon light in a warm display of a bright emerald green.
Seth caught himself and folded his arms, one hand gripping his own bicep the other a fist cradled in the other arm's elbow- in good timing as well ought else the gesture to be done would have probably not have been found suitable.
A deep chuckle arising from within, "Ah yes... Children, when they are still young and adventerous, naturally with will hold no fear. Just pure curiousity. I was very much like that in my childhood growing up in the country, it took me quite some many times dodging death to realise that not everything that I met in the forest would be willing to be my friend." The officer shook their head now laughing rather dryly.
"But then you yourself are a faerie, and even raised by some. Why hate the fae? Or... did you just not know which ones to find trust in?" Seth knew alot of every individual species and society, as well as their tendencies.... it just took time to learn is all... A lot of time.

"No all those in these forests are fae, at least not as I see it," Lucian replied smothly. "Those that torment and decieve and make crooked deals are the fae to me. The others are just trying to stay alive in the forest," he said looking at Seth.
