Professor X reached out a hand, resting it against the school nurse's shoulder; a warning without words that it was necessary for him to not be too hasty. He gave the blue haired boy a calm stare, the professor's dark, scarlet eyes flickering with...something; though what exactly it was had yet to be known.
"Kindly do not make the mistake of believing any of us incapable of performing the tasks necessary," he said in a perfectly level voice, without a trace of condescension to it; he spoke in a factual tone, stating his words simply. "There is a reason for everything; Professor Miusa's reasoning for not stepping in earlier, as you so put it, is her own, and should not be taken lightly, nor disregarded so easily."
The magic was still thick in the air; it hung heavy over the now dead Lichbone, the scent of smoke and blood beginning to grow. Professor X stood beside the great beast, his dark gaze taking in its fallen form with a grim sort of expression on his face. It had taken so little for the creature to delve into pure madness and bloodlust; yet now it had taken more than expected for it to die.
His eyes slanted sideways, towards Miusa' retreating form, one of her pale, slender hands resting on the nurse's shoulder. Something crackled; the magic sparked, then dissipated, and Professor X reached a hand up, resting it gently atop of his familiar's head.
Hyde gave a low hiss, tongue flickering.
...a very familiar woman indeed...Professor Miusa.

Cyrus jumped at the touch of the professor's hand, but was comforted that he also stood up for Miusa...in his own way. He then shielded his eyes at the raw magic unleashed by Miusa and her scythe. In moments, the Lichbone crumbled in death. Part of him wanted to die with it. The way Miusa placed her hand on the Alchemia's skull...
A lump in his throat threatened to choke him, and he coughed, rubbing his jaw subconsciously. Her words spread fear in his heart. A witch eater? Here? His eyes darted around, there were still plenty of people nearby, plenty of potential victims. But her request pushed those fears aside for the moment.
"Of course," he said, taking one last glance at Miusa and the Lichbone. He was looking forward to this night. For a chance to watch the fireworks display with her. But then this? It seemed so wrong to him. He returned her smile, patting a hand on her shoulder as well, as if to say, 'keep strong'.
Turning his attention to the witches nearby; the blue one that spoke out, the odd gray one, a fragrant Ars Lilium, a vibrant one, a fledgling witch, just graduated, and the pink-haired witchling. "Is there anyone here that's been hurt?" he asked. He couldn't see any serious wounds, but it never hurt to quickly patch up a scrape or bruise.
Syracuse shook her feathered head, coo-ing to herself. "Dear me, did I miss everything?" she asked. Her eyes turned to the Lichbone's remains, and she could only shake her head solemnly as she took off and scanned the lingering crowd of others for wounded.

Theo watched as the great alchemia came tumbling down, death consuming it in a huge vortex of sheer magical power. The power made the hair on the back of Theo's neck stand up. And the it was gone. Dead to the world. Theo gritted his teeth. It was difficult to see such a great beast die, but it had to die. Before it killed or hurt anyone. No one was hurt, and that was all that really mattered. The pink-haired girl appeared to be shaken from inside, but was fine otherwise.
In a rare display of self-control, Theo bit back the retort on his tongue. They were teachers in the school, and while he had never really been under them, there was no need to say anymore. Clearly, they disagreed with him. To each their own. He believed Miusa should have done something to stop it as soon as possible, while she believed that she ought to have waited. The professors supported her. That was the end of it. No point picking a fight over it. It was wasted energy.
He shook his head silently when asked if he was hurt, not wanting to speak lest he let out the sarcastic retort hovering on the tip of his tongue. There was no reason for him to remain here any longer. Clearly any duels would be put off until the stage had been repaired, and for Theo, the whole festival had been ruined. It was time to leave. With a respectful nod to each of the professors, he left the school grounds. He was not wanted nor needed there, that much was clear.
Strollling towards the strangely deserted town center, Theo settled on a bench and looked up into the sky, the sun still blazing above even though it was well past nightfall. Midsummer was so strange, Theo mused as he sat there, content to be alone with his thoughts.

Emelia was laughing now. She had arrived long before the incident and was sporting a rather pretty deep purple hood and cape. She didn't like coming out, but the lure of foods and the possible treat of a wandering witch was never something to pass up. Especially after having not had one in a long time. A very long time. Many ventures into booth and shops for sweets later, the true purpose of her visit to the Academy had arrived. Dueling. The fact it was going on was fun enough, but watching people fight? Always amusing. Always...teasing in the way magic was slung about, tickling her senses. Magic, the sweetest treat of all.
Aside from a tasty witch heart at least.
Nibbling on a pickled pum pastry, Emelia was lazily sitting on the edge of a balcony, not caring to the fact she was bordering on dangerously falling. She had wings, she could use them...Even if they exposed her. Ah well that was what her hood was for. Keeping a low profile. Even if the hooded cape was decked out with embellishments and was overall rather nice.Watching the fights she smiled. Until it was all ruined by some nasty thing dropping down and ruining everything. Eyes widened and then-
Then Emelia had laughed. Insanity, chaos, just her type of town now. The antics stopped after a while and the fun died. So much for that. But as she over heard talk of another witch eater? God, this place was rich. Hrm...might be fun. Might not. Still, giggling at the idea of flying around was tempting...Options options. "So much excitement. Should have just let it rampage a while longer. Take out the ones stupid enough to fight a battle they couldn't hope to win." She shrugged. "Only practical."

Noted Lycander's smile and nod, giving her own as she watched. Shutting her eyes to not bare witness to the Lichbone's death. What a shame... Her blue eyes slowly opened when she heard the warning of a witch eater about, this only frightened her slight, as she had dealt with them in the past, though if the one that was here had taken the great alchemia's heart then they must be very powerful. This truth shook her a bit more. Koray nudges her leg to be picked up, the woman obliges the familiar while looking up to the man questioning if everyone was alright. She smiled at him, and answered for herself. "I am.. " With that and a nod to him, Shea started to sink back away from the crowd, she was to head home. This was enough excitement for her for one day...

The Lichbone incident was the first incident of its type among many that would soon follow. A panic began to swell, first in the Academy town, and then Clarus Arbor...and soon to the cities of Moonfall and Lumena. The main fear was that some type of strong Witch Eaters were stealing whole hearts, and escaping without evidence, without being seen, without suspicion. But was it really the Majin, really the Witch Eaters?
The mystery unsettled everyone....
