Games. Aislin loved games. In fact she'd been steadily growing more and more addicted. Open House had been to blame... or at least partially. With it's sparkles and Nyan Cats and promises of Contracts. It was a lucky thing she'd been too distracted with being the ScreeJay at the prom to really play any of the games of chance there.
It was time to make up for lost time. With a look of determination in her eye she approached the Crane Game and grabbed the controls.
Her turn started and she pushed the lever forward. ...Nothing moved. With a scowl she tried to push it to the side. No reaction. Growing frustrated she began to jerk the control-stick around, spinning it wildly in circles in her attempt to get the game to respond to her.
It moved about an inch.
With a loud buzz she realized her time was up and turn was over. The banshee gave an angry little stomp on the ground and stalked away from the game in a huff.

Adyian was once back again to play the crane game. The last two times that he had played he had gotten nothing out of the deal. He thought that maybe a third time is the charm as he walked up to the game.
Looking over all the rocks that were in the tank as he tried to deside on which one might be the easiest rock to get. Pushing buttons to maneuver the claw to the rock that he had chosen that he might be able to get.
Once again he saw that the claw had just picked up the rock and when going up had dropped it. Oh well he was a little bumped out that he just couldn't win at this game. But he was going to be back he was determined to win at least one.

Jove didn't quite understand the point of the game, but he waited his turn for another round regardless. It was hard to see over the other students, but it looked like they were trying to make the claw pick something up...?
When it was his turn again, Jove made a second attempt with much concentration and much enthusiasm. His little pink tongue stuck out the side of his mouth as he played, maneuvering the joystick and intently watching the little metal claw move around the tank.

Muka's repeated failure with this horrific crane machine seemed to egg him on to try repeatedly. It didn't help that he was completely broke of seeds for the festival.
He waited his turn, patiently, tapping his pointed shoe and plastered with his ever present grin. This time, instead of trying to plan carefully which rock to pick up he just started to jostle the controls willy-nilly.
This approach also seemed to fail and he shrieked in displeasure before stalking away.

Ho ho, we meet again, foe.
Levia wiggled her fingers to loosen the tension as she stood before the strange machine. It was taunting her, how it showed her the prizes in its belly with nothing but a weak claw to reach for it. Pale hands slid across the controls, feeling for the start button to try her hand at the game once again.
Despite her optimism, the claws grasped the tip of one of its goodies, then slipped just as easily away. It was infuriating, but Levia was determined to conquer the technique sooner or later. She would return again to reclaim her bounty.

With some new eggs in his pockets, Jericho made his way over to the crane game, deciding that now was a good time to see if he could conquer this little game. After the last person was done with it, he stepped on up to the machine and took hold of the controls. Narrowing his eyes, he got to work.
However, his aim was a bit off and he came out empty handed once again.

Yroul was very desperate now. Oh, how he wanted a rock! He didn't even care anymore as to why, he just did. He needed that rock, needed it. If he didn't win that rock, what would the others think? Would he lose his street cred? Or worse, would he be... MADE FUN OF?
That was something he tried to avoid as an Undead. He wore cologne, tried wearing nice clothes, and even styled his hair. But, if he were to be made fun of... his whole unlife would be over.
He lowered the crane, and even picked up a rock! Yes! Yesyesyesyesyes!Oh, no! The rock slipped from the crane, and crashed into another rock, putting a small crack in it. Now he;d ruined he. He ruined everything!
Blushing incredibly, he quickly walked away, wishing his robes had a hood for him to emo in.

Mia was feeling lucky, or at least she was sure today was going to be a good day. The little girl hummed a merry tune to herself as she browsed the stalls coming across once more to the crane game. She had to wonder what would happen if someone grabbed a rock instead of a seed. Maybe the rocks were too heavy to be lifted so far it seemed she always missed completely.
Standing in front of the game she stared at it.
"Today, I'm sure I'll get something," she murmured more to herself.

HARD ROCK sn: cheshire Oppa walked up to that crane game machine again with a slight fury in his eyes. He eyed the spot where his shiny dropped last time, but the items in the machine shifted around. He pushed the button to start the machine to see if it would start up. To his surprise the machine lit up and music started playing as the timer started it's count down. Oppa jumped back a little, not expecting the machine to respond, he quickly maneuvered the claw over an area piled high with rocks in hopes that there would be something good in there. The claw went down... it seemed to come up empty handed, but as the claw reached the opening a small shiny dropped from it's clutches. "YEAAHHHH!" Oppa screeched as he punched wildly into the air.

The crane game was, at least, less noisy and annoying than the Boogy Booth, and Malodore gratefully settled its claws around the controls. A bit of remote-control rockpicking was exactly what was called for at this point...
To its delight, it managed to get the claw around a rock! ... And then the rock slipped free, crashing down on the tempting prismatic shiny that had just barely been visible underneath. Awwww.
Maybe next time?

By the time This One's turn had rolled around again, Zen the komuso monk had been able to observe the gaming apparatus' inZendiary properties. Many a player had let themselves get excited by the booth, demonstrating intense focus as they played and stomping away angrily when they failed. Alas, the skeleton had learned better since last time!
If you try to aim for it, you are turning away from it. Zen recited to themselves, under the illusion that this would grant them extra luck or mystical skill or something. This time, This One operated the joystick with the casual ease of someone who is in fact taking a proverb far too literally. As in, Zen was looking entirely... away from the Crane Game.
A sudden jerk and a noise alerted Zen to their newest failure. ...I have failed again. With a disappointed slump of the shoulders, the monk backed away from the booth so that the next player may proceed. The incident would be quickly forgotten, but This One would be back to win next time!

Third time was the charm? Honestly Vero didn't know why it kept coming back. The controls seemed hazardous under its care, and the crane either missed its targets completely or hardly responded at all.
This time was no different, though the spirit found that the crane had been much easier to control. Perhaps all it would take for it to master the game was time?

Gracie had returned to the crane game. She secretly was whispering to the crane all the false things she'd do for it if it'd just be her ally for once. Of course it was absurd since she knew that wouldn't do any good. she had no abilities to talk to something and make that happen. she then had the great idea to try it with her eyes closed.
This too was not much more than a fool's obsession as yet again she failed to get anything. She wondered if anyone got anything out of here. But, surely someone did... the amount of rocks seemed slightly less than yesterday. she just figured she'd wait to try again.

Hasuko paused in front of the crane game booth and studied the emoticon sign in bemusement. Since arriving at the Floresctival, she had just been strolling along and enjoying the sights and sounds and pretty lanterns that hung everywhere rather than trying her luck at any of the game booths.
The game at this booth though, as far as she could tell with from the odd sign, was free? Hasuko looked around at the other students playing and then stepped up to one of the machines. Didn't hurt to try.
The controls were surprisingly difficult to use. The crane claw slipped off the rock Hasuko had tried to pick up without even budging the stone. Oh well. Hasuko stepped away from the machine and moved on to see what other booths and sights the Floresctival had.

Aislin approached the game with a wary look. Last time she'd made an attempt at this stupid contraption it hadn't even budged for her. That's what you got with free games, she guessed. They were cheap and cheaply made. Still... the allure of something free was tantalizing all the same. With a huff the banshee approached and took hold of the controls.
She'd beat this thing.
