Morana mock-pouted at Deimos' secrecy, but it didn't last long before she gave a small smile. So he was going to play that game, huh? "I'm sure there's a few trees to huddle under...or a cave or something." She said, starting to shiver a little from how cold and wet she was getting.

Scurrying under a large tree she shook the water from her fur in a very dog-like manner. "Do...do you think lightning will stike this tree?" She murmured, suddenly unsure her safe place was really safe. She wasn't particularly afraid of death, but dying from a bolt of lightning seemed...unpleasant.

"It's highly likely," Deimos responded. As the rain had started coming down heavier he'd moved a little further under the foliage to avoid getting completely soaked. He sighed in a grumpy manner.

"Come on then, Mora," he said, and began walking off. If there was anything that could put Dei in a horrible mood, it was having to spend the night on the ground. Even worse, in a cave. But if the storm was going to last for a long period of time, and it was giving every indication that it would, a cave would be their best bet.

He did vaguely know where a cave was too, but it sloped underground. Dei shivered a little, but it wasn't from the cold. Winged creatures naturally didn't like underground places, and he was no exception. If Morana stayed behind he'd probably just deal with getting wet or taking his chance with the lightning since being warm and dry didn't seem that important in contrast to having clean air blowing against him.

At the mention of lightning striking the tree Morana jumped away from it as if she had been struck. Looking at Deimos, she felt something. Embarrasment, Mora decided she didn't like that feeling at once. "Cave it is then..." She mumbled before following the daeva.

"If you can call me Mora, can I call you Dei?" She asked as they walked. Nicknames...well, it was best to see if the recipient liked it before giving one, Morana had found. She remembered Deimos' previous nickname for her, 'Little Shadow'. She had been a shadow of sorts, nothing solid about her. 'Not anymore though...' She thought and grinned to herself.

Deimos wasn't sure if he was happy or not that Morana was following him. On one hand that meant he had to stay in an underground cave. On the other he found that he had a tendency to worry about those he considered "his" when they were in the same vicinity as him. It was very annoying and didn't allow him to properly relax, so given the choice he supposed he'd rather keep an eye on Morana until the weather cleared up.

"Yea, sure," he grunted in response to her question. It seemed like the closer they got the tenser his muscles became. His wings were already tightly clenched to his body, a sure sign he wasn't very happy.

Another minute of walking and the reached the spot. "Come on," Dei muttered. "And stick close, unless you're a bat and can find your way out of pitch blackness." He led the way in the cave, his flames springing into life around his feet. They chased away the darkness and the faint chill in the air. They didn't go very far in. Though it was sloped underground, the water ran towards the deeper parts of the cave. It left plenty of space that would stay quite dry.

Mora would have liked to stick as close to Deimos as was possible, but that wan't going to be the case. His flames looked meancing and dangerous and...strangely beautiful. "Your fire's amazing." She breathed, before she could really think it through. How was it that colour?

Wrinkling her nose at the earthy smell, she curled up a safe, yet warming distance away from the male. He looked...nervous. What was there for a big, bad daeva to be afraid of? The dark? "You look..." she struggled to find a word that wouldn't insult him "...tense" She finished, studying him more. "Wanna tell me why?" She tacked on to the end.

Deimos shook his head, though it was more like he was trying to chase away bad thoughts than a signal of denial. "I don't like being underground," he said in a voice as tense as his muscles. "It's not natural."

Shame he disliked it, for their was beauty down here. A different kind of beauty, but beauty nonetheless. Pools of clearest water collected in the many little dips and pools formed naturally by the rock. Occasionally the still surface was disturbed as drops of water fell from the cave ceiling. The rocks all had a somewhat shiney overtone to them, the result of dampness leaking through, and Dei's teal flames reflected off of all of it in the most beautiful manner.

Dei didn't care so much. Sure the blue walls and the rippling blue on the water looked pretty, but he could do that at night by a river bank. In the open sky. And this water tasted like rocks, not like the good, clean water of a stream. And it was just a lot more damp down here than he'd like. Of course the deeper he led them the more dry patches there were, but the point remained.

Finally Dei stopped as soon as he found a dry spot big enough for two to lay down on. He really didn't want to go any further into the earth than he had to!

Morana collapsed on the ground with a soft oof. The ground wasn't too uncomfortable. She rolled onto her back and looked at the now upside-down Dei, trying to give him a comforting smile. "Figures, with you being so used to flying. I guess us ground-dwellers have at least one advantage." She mused.

Huffing to herself she rolled back to her stomach and surveyed the cave. The rain could be heard echoing faintly from the outside. Looks like we're stuck in here... "So what now?" She asked

Deimos snorted. "Well that's obvious. We wait out the storm until we can go outside without risking getting sick and dying." At that moment a huge bang of thunder sounded as though lightning had struck right outside the cave. The sound was all the louder for the echos in the cave. Dei winced a little; yet another reason he dislikes this rock holes.

Morana flattened her ears against her head to try to dim the sound. She was grateful that they'd found shelter in time. When she'd recovered, she smirked a little. "No, what i meant was: What are we going to do while we are stuck in this cave?"

Another roll of thunder sounded, somewhere futher away than last time. Mora cringed a little, a jumble of emotions she didn't understand rolling inside her. She recognised a few, like fear and relief, but there were also some she didn't recognise. Emotions like anger or sadness were obvious to tell, but there were others that didn't progect themselves amoung foxes that were a little harder to tell apart. Like facination or envy.

Mora shook her head slightly to clear her thoughts. Dei must think she was a loon, babbling away to herself in her head. She was thankful he was no telepath. "Any ideas? Or do you just plan on listening to the rain the whole time?" She said with another smirk.

"Well there's not a whole lot to do. We're in a cave," Deimos responded, looking around him significantly before looking back at Morana and raising an eyebrow. He wasn't sure what she had in mind, but he himself couldn't see any alternative. Not unless she wanted to risk her only source of light vanishing because he didn't want to be deep underground. Despite having similar wings, Dei did not have a bat-like love of all these dark and damp rocks.

Morana sighed, resting her head on her paws. "...I spy with my little eye, something...big" It was childish and pathetic, but at least it was something. She looked at Dei, waiting for a response. There was that same swirl of unfamiliar feelings again. Maybe she was sick or something?

Deimos rolled his eyes. "For someone who claims not to have a good grasp on your own sense of self, you are remarkably...impatient." He had known a couple antsy foxes that just couldn't seem to sit still, but usually when he ran into those he just flew away or climbed up a tree.

"Am I? I guess the storm's making me nervous. But it's irrational, I'm safe in this cave."Mora said, mostly to herself. She admitted she really didn't like the thunderous sounds going on outside, but she was away from all that. She might have a phobia or something. She didn't know how to react to that possibility, it was bitter-sweet.

Deimos sighed and laid down, putting his own head on top of his paws. His flames licked around his fur, dimmer now but still sending dancing blue light around them. It was hard to believe that it would singe anyone else who tried to touch it, watching out his danced around the snow-white fur.

"Yea, and this cave is making me nervous. So we just sit down, focus on staying warm and dry, and pray the storm ends soon," he said. He certainly hoped that Morana could do that; fidgets made it harder to keep calm until this darn storm went away.

Morana wiggled closer to Deimos, enjoying the warmth of his flames. A small part of her wondered how he'd respond if she asked if she could toast food with them. It probably wouldn't end well, she decided.

Outside the rain was lightenining up, most likely coming to a stop. But what did that mean? Was she ever going to see Dei again once they said goodbye? Mora didn't know. "I never did thank you, did i?" She asked softly.
