Mitsu had been in the process of kicking when she heard Shun yell out with an unfamiliar curse. She completely missed the punching bag and once again found herself on her back staring up at the fitness room ceiling. Scrambling to turn over she looked up at the reaper as he got back up though it seemed like his stance was a little off.

"W..what happened?" She asked moving over toward him, concern in her voice. "Are you okay?"

Mitsu's ears twitched a little, picking up on the subtle change in his voice, her eyes focused on his leg that he wouldn't put much weight on. "B..but you hurt yourself." She noted, even though he seemed to be doing his best to hide it.

"M..maybe we should take a break," Mitsu offered reaching for Shun's arm to help support him. "We can have a seat on the benches." That way he would have a chance to rest his leg if he had actually managed to twist or pull something. Hopefully it wasn't something worse.

Why was he lying about his injury? Mitsu could see in his eyes that his leg was hurting him pretty bad. The stern tone made her back off though, her ears drooping to the sides. At least until he stepped on his leg again the pain a little more obvious this time.

Slowly Mitsu came up behind the reaper a gentle hand reaching out to touch his arm with her other hand reached for her mask. Pushing the carved wood away from her face she looked up at the boy with concern wondering why he looked so ashamed. "Y...you don't have to pretend." She said softly. "Let me help." Coming a little closer she hoped Shun would at least let her help him to a bench. She didn't want to see him hurt himself further.

Mitsu did her best to help brace Shun as they moved over to a bench for him to sit down. Once he was seated she knelt down in front of him her hands reaching for the leg of his sweat pants. "Let me have a look. You might have sprained something."

First aid mode had kicked in. While she hadn't learned about FEARhealing yet Mitsu did know a bit about actual first aid. If he had sprained something it would be best to get some ice on it quickly to prevent swelling that would only make the injury worse.

Carefully Mitsu reached out her hands to Shun's leg, her fingers gently searching for anything torn or strained. "If you ignore it, it might get worse." She said softly looking up toward him. Why was he so reluctant to receive help? He acted the same when she had offered to help with his homework.

In her searching Mitsu continued further up checking his knee over carefully to make sure it hadn't been injured. A little further and she found the problem. There was a knot of angry tense muscle in his quadriceps that he had no doubt pulled during his exercise. Even though her arms were sore Mitsu gently started to rub at the muscle to help ease the pain. "Seems like you might have just pulled it.. D-does this feel any better?" She asked nervously.

Seeing the look on his face and the way he was tensing up Mitsu was starting to wonder what good she was really doing. He obviously didn't want her help so why did she keep forcing it on him? "I..I'm sorry." She said pulling back. "I-I-I was just trying to be helpful." The stutter was a good indication that she was nervous now if the blush across her cheeks didn't indicate as such.

Reaching her hand up she took hold of the mask that rested on the side of her head and slide it back over into its original place. At least that way she could hide her embarrassment. With a soft sigh she stood to her feet looking over toward the showers. Should she just call it a day and take her leave then?

Mitsu gave a bit of a nod of understanding. She knew what it was like to have to deal with problems on her own and not getting any help even if she sought it out. Mr. Adolphus, while he gave her a roof over her head and managed her parents assets for her, he wasn't always the most generous with his time or aid.

"I..I understand, but...we're friends. Friends help each other. I..I've never really had any friends before and I want to make sure the ones I have are taken care of. I...don't want to just abandon someone if I can help out...." That was the best way she could put together how she felt about it though she wasn't sure she explained it well. "I want to do my best so that you and Lizzy don't have to deal with problems on your own."

After that she went quiet, fidgeting with the hem of her over-sized shirt. The lupine wasn't sure she was making much sense or if it would make Shun feel any better about it. He seemed to hesitant about it all. "I..If I bother you...please just let me know." She would rather know than keep at it until he was angry with her...and just abandoned her.

His silence really wasn't all that reassuring. The longer she stood there and he said nothing the more awkward she felt. Maybe he was just trying to be find the nicest way to tell her that yes...she was a bother.

And then he finally spoke and Mitsu felt herself letting out the breath she didn't realize she had been holding. "I..I think you make a pretty good friend," Mitsu said softly. "You've helped me out so much already."

Mitsu winced a bit when Shun tried to stand again only to end up back on the bench. And then his last words caught her ear. It was something she hadn't really expected him say though she couldn't decide if it was something you would say to a friend or a pet who had done an exceptional trick. Either way it made her happy.

Sitting back down on her knees again Mitsu looked up at Shun, her ears perked with a question. "Do you want me to continue? I can help ease the pain a little..." She started to reach her hands toward his leg again but hesitated waiting for him to answer.
