Once Sparrow had straightened himself out, he cast a glance at the inky haired boil, then gave a small bow in greeting, one hand pressed against his stomach, the other against his back. "It's quite a bit overwhelming, isn't it?" he replied, as he stood back up, offering a mildly sympathetic smile. "One would think that we were in the middle of an assembly, rather than a library."
It was clear that the boil was a bit anxious, stumbling over his words and looking nervously around at the throngs of students and visitors milling about. Sparrow blinked at the question, then smiled. "Yes, I am," he answered, folding his hands against the small of his back. "I'm afraid, though, that I'm still rather new here, so I'm unsure as to how everything goes yet." He gave a slightly apologetic shrug, then added "My name is Sparrow Heartreed. And I'm sure it's not always this wa - oof."
Something - or rather, someone had run into him from behind. Sparrow twisted around, feeling vaguely claustrophobic at the sheer volume of people, only to catch a glimpse of pale teal skin and ears that flattened back against fluffy hair. He lifted a brow.
"Why Jove, I thought you weren't speaking to me?" Sparrow asked, his voice alight with playful teasing. His hand went out to rest briefly - very briefly - atop the puppy's head in a friendly greeting before he dropped it, tucking his hands back against his back again. It was, to say the least, ridiculously awkward now that he had discovered that the ghoul was, in fact, er...not a ghoul. Sparrow sighed, feeling someone brush against his shoulder. His eyes flitted to the side, taking in dark hair and a heavy scowl.
"Oh? Someone seems unhappy," Sparrow mused with an amused flicker of interest, tilting his head to observe the black-haired young man with pins pushing some of the unruly strands away from his face.

"They are a bit more than my friends but not eating them is much appreciated," Joachim replied easing his tone to something that was less.... accusing. He was completely unprepared for Muka grabbing his hand and shaking it, he had forgotten that around people he didn't know that for some it was customary to shake hands not to mention the long talon nails were a bit intimidating. One of his mice in turn bit him in fear of the sudden movement and the closeness Joachim had allowed Muka to get to him. This resulted him smacking the side of his thigh with his free hand as he muttered under this breathe about the stupid little creature. Despite all the love in the world they could be a little annoying at times.
"It's a pleasure to meet you as well Sybaline," he replied giving a nod and forcing a bit of smile on his face. "I would honestly rather be sleeping at the moment but I don't think I will get much of any sleep here...." He replied as he looked around the room noting that more and more students and prospects were appearing including a girl whose hair reminded him of his own before she disappeared into the aisle.

Jove favoured Sparrow with a scowl. Was that a joke? If so it wasn't very funny, the pup never really spoke to anybody and the reaper knew that. His ears remained flat as he put up with the brief touch on his head, looking for all the world like he was resisting the urge to bite that hand. But he was a good dog, and didn't move.
One ear flicked sideways as he heard another mention of the word 'cute', and prayed it wasn't regarding him. Just to be sure, he avoided looking. Looking would mean he had heard it and acknowledged it, and was the fastest way to draw the attention of ghouls who, for some reason, just had to hug him or touch him or whatnot.
Once it looked like Sparrow had found someone else to antagonize, Jove's ears perked up again and he looked over at the pale ghost who was talking to Sparrow, and he even offered the boil a shy little wave. This one had freckles like Ren and himself, and held a notebook nervously against his chest. Jove wondered if he had looked that anxious meeting Ren for the first time. He lifted his nose to get a scent of the new boil, but it was hard in the crowded library and he wasn't sure if the ink and parchment was coming from the other little ghost or just the books around them.

Avery was about to occupy himself with one of the many books on the shelves when the reaper boil's comment reached his ears and Avery being Avery looked around for the one he spoke of. Only to realize a second too late that he was talking about him.
Great...
"You're point?" He asked. Placing the book back on the shelf before he turned around to face him; arms crossed over his chest.
The boil didn't look like much. Looked kind of scrawny actually. Or at least he did in the behemoth's eyes. Must be one of those reaper types. Not that he was criticizing. Nor did he have anything against reapers. In fact, he normally got along well with them. Or at least the ones that didn't pester or try to destroy him. But that could be said for any species.

Kallos was surprised when the reaper student bowed to him. No one had ever...bowed to him before. "I-it is, a bit. I-I thought the library would be the least populated of the areas w-we're allowed to go to...but a-apparently not." Kallos answered, his stutter still peppering his speech. Even if he was only speaking with the reaper in a much less populated are, he still would have stuttered about it.
"S-Sparrow Heartreed...?" It was an interesting name. Kallos realized he hadn't told the other his name and he quickly bowed in response and said to the other, "A-ah, m-my apologies. I realize I haven't introduced myself... M-my name is Kallos... K-Kallos Kalamos."
It seemed now the reaper, Sparrow, had realized that the pup-like ghost (Jove, apparently?) had bumped into him. Jove looked like a bit of a freckled puppy, but was a ghost similar to himself. The other even offered Kallos a wave. Returning a slight smile (the pup didn't look to scary, after all), Kallos also waved. "Y-you're Jove, r-right? M-my name is Kallos..." It seemed the pup was smelling the air a bit, and it occured to Kallos that he probably gave off a scent more like book shop then a unliving being. "I-I'm a Calligraphy Pen Haunt..." He offered as an explaination to his freshly-printed-book scent.

Sparrow tilted his head at Jove's ears, pressed low against his head, and let out a small sigh of exasperation, running a hand through his hair. "Relax, relax," he said easily, shaking his head a bit. "I was just teasing you. Don't worry, don't worry~"
Turning his attention back to the black haired boil - who introduced himself as Kallos - Sparrow gave him a warm smile, laughing gently. "I thought it would be less populated as well," he said ruefully, glancing around at the bustling, loud room. Everywhere he turned there was another person, another boil, another ghoul. And if Jove looked slightly overwhelmed, this Kallos boil looked almost terrified. "It's all right," Sparrow assured him, smiling. "I'm sure that when you come to the school, it'll be much less crowded."
"Your point?"
The grumpy looking young man had spoken to him. Sparrow turned his head, eyes flickering towards the other, a faint smile touching his lips. "Come now," he said lightly, and gestured towards the rest of the overcrowded library. "It's supposed to be a fun occasion. What's with the scowl, Sir Grumpy Pants? Nothing to smile about?

Great, Sparrow had annoyed the other boil too, it seemed he had a habit of getting on the nerves of other students. Jove wasn't sure why he seemed to be becoming familiar with the reaper instead of avoiding him entirely. He huffed, watching the way Sparrow interacted with the unfamiliar boil, Kallos. Maybe it was because the reaper was polite and friendly, and at a school full of terrifying things, that could be a great reassurance for the littler creatures...
Not that Jove considered himself little!
When Kallos spoke his name, Jove's ears perked, and his tail gave a short wag. Oh, this was good. No need to introduce himself, or shake hands, and no squealing or attempted hugging... A calligraphy pen haunt? Jove's head tilted briefly, he hadn't heard of a ghost like that before, but then again ghosts were ghosts as far as he was concerned.
The pup made no attempt to describe his own species, he never really thought much about being a wisp or a foxfire. It was the same way he wouldn't have given much thought to Kallos being a haunt if the other boil hadn't brought it up.

Avery had quietly eavesdropped listened to all the information the younger ones were giving each other. A little confused that they were giving such valuable information freely. Then again, this was a school and school kids blabbed a lot. Still, the amount of species that were in Halloween never ceased to surprise him. He had never heard of a calligraphy pen haunt before. How bizarre.
His expression darkened a little at Sparrow's next comment. But that was about all he did.
"I suppose you think there should be?" He asked; arms still crossed over his chest as he stared pointedly at the reaper boil. Expecting a reason to somehow change his mind. As unlikely as that was.

"Well, this is interesting."Gyilkos was having a grand time staring up at the books fluttering past his head in one of the library's well shaded areas. The dim shadows of the textbooks making their way past his prone sitting form, it was a rather soothing place to be. The hustle and bustle of the gym and the cafe could wait, at least hopefully when there were less people there watching his every move. He liked doing the watching, not being watched, kthnx. The occasional snarl from a passing book didn't even get much of a reaction from the shadow assassin as it went off chasing a smaller book round a corner. This must be the area of human studies about Darwinism. The soft chatter from the other aisle that flitted to his ears caught his attention, and musing to himself wasn't exactly what he wanted to do here. that could be done at home, in someone elses home or even under a rock. But learning about this school and its students felt more appropriate given the circumstances. With careful steps the Assassin wandered into the adjacent aisle of the other students and pulled out a couple of books. "How to train your Cthtulu." and "Conventional theories about the poison of Desu." for the life of Gyil, he couldn't figure out why those two books were next to each other he haphazardly placed them to the side. What was more interesting was the sight of a tiny pup student and a pale boil with jet black hair on the other side of the books. "There seems to be a lot of targets roaming about the library." He said softly as he peered at them some more, his visitor's pass clunking lightly on the oak shelf which made him bite back the curse bubbling up in the back of his throat. Smooth Gyil, real covert.

When Sparrow turned and responded to his comment, Kallos gave another slight nod. For a reaper, the other boil was actually quite nice. At the comment about it being less crowed, Kallos' face took a bit more hopeful expression. "R-really? I-I'd like to be able to delve into all of those bookselves at a less crowded time..." He gave a slight smile, casting a look at the huge bookshelves. The idea of being able to read all of those amazing books...~
Kallos noticed the pup's tail flitting back and forth, and took this as a good sign. So, Jove was his name? Good, good. And it seemed that the pup didn't really talk much, so it was good Sparrow had mentioned the ghost-pup's name while Kallos was nearby.
The pup seemed a bit confused when he mentioned what he was. Kallos paused for a moment. "Ah...I'm...t-tied to a certain object...a pen." He said, trying to explain what he was a bit better. He removed one arm from around his notebook and reached into his pocket. His Calligraphy Pen in hand, he showed it to the pup. "T-that's why my hair is so dark. I-it's like ink from a pen." He gave a slight smile, hoping he was making sense.

Jove nodded in agreement, the library was almost empty during regular school hours. He liked it better that way, less chance someone would inadvertently make a grab for him and send him running scared. Large crowds always resulted in some jostling, and the only thing more embarrassing than running into Sparrow's backside would be running away entirely.
His ears perked attentively as he listened to Kallos attempting to explain his species type, and when the pen was pulled out, he tried very hard to see where exactly it was tied to the other boil. He knew better than to try and touch the pen though, the resemblance was subtle, but the boil held it in a way that reminded Jove of Tomoko's prized ball of stars. It must have been a very precious pen.
The pup's tail wagged again, his expression still unsmiling, but at the same time attentive and maybe even pleased he had been shown the other boil's precious object. At mention of the dark hair, Jove's head tilted again, and he touched the freckles on his own face questioningly.
One of Jove's ears flicked backwards as he heard a small noise behind him, but the pup was too curious about the new freckled ghost to pay it any attention. It could have just been more books rustling about, they could sometimes be rough with each other when left to their own devices. Especially the human studies section, for some odd reason.

Sparrow's eyes briefly moved towards Jove, catching the way the boil's tail wagged ever so slightly. He was slowly (very slowly) beginning to read the gh - er, boil's expressions and minute ways of expressing himself through body movement, but it was incredibly difficult since he did not speak. He frowned, rubbing a gloved finger against his cheek as he scrutinized the boil for a moment, then turned his attentions back to Kallos.
"I'm quite certain that there will be less, er...madness by the time you're a student here," Sparrow said with a laugh, and reached a hand out, brushing his fingers against the spines of the books. He wasn't stressed, at least, which meant that most of the letters were in the right places - a good thing, because the last thing he wanted was to embarrass himself in front of a bunch of new students and what might possibly be a new friend (if Jove could even be called that, really).
His eyebrows rose slightly. "That is really...quite fascinating," Sparrow said to Kallos, eying the boil's head of dark hair. A calligraphy pen haunt? Really, very interesting...
A grumbled, slightly irritated voice dragged Sparrow once more from his inner musings, and he turned back to Sir Grumpy Pants, a mild smile on his face as he folded his hands neatly against the small of his back. "I don't know," he answered cryptically, tilting his head. "Why don't you tell me? Smiling is an important aspect of life, you know."

Jove seemed to have understood Kallos' explanation, at least until he mentioned that the Pen was tied to him. When the pup seemed to look around his Pen as if he was looking for a string to be trailing off it or something, Kallos realized how his statement had sounded to the other student. He tried to explain himself a bit more, hoping he wasn't just confusing the boil. "I-it's not physically tied to me...m-more like in the spiritual sense... My being is connected to this Pen, like how if it were to r-run out of ink, m-my hair would drain of it's inky c-color." He hoped that explained it a bit more.
When Jove touched the splattering of teal-ish freckles on his face, Kallos took it that he was questioning the Haunt about his own. "Ah-h... my freckles? D-do they look like they're from ink too? W-well, they probably are..A-along with my eye-color..." He nodded slightly, giving the pup a slight grin. Apparently their communcation skills weren't as bad as Kallos might have thought.
"S-so, you're probably...some type of dog-like ghost...right? I know the pins and passes restrict natural forms..." Kallos didn't want to offend the pup by calling him, well, a pup, so he thought this would be a safe question. Plus, it could be answered with a head nod. Venturing another question, Kallos gave a slight wave at the library around him. "S-so, do you like books?" Book were a good topic. And that was also another yes or no question, so this could work...
Sparrow, the reaper who'd bumped into him first, mentioned that the campus would probably be much less insane by the time Kallos actually became a student. Kallos gave a nod, thankful for what the reaper had said. He seemed happy to be in the library also, and Kallos watched as Sparrow brushed the books.
"F-fascinating? H-how so...?" He stated as the reaper spoke again. A bit self-conscious, put his Pen back in his pocket and ran a hand quickly through his inky hair.

Ice blue orbs glanced around as a ghost cat that looked much like a tiger walked into the Library glancing up at where the ceiling should be following books up and up and up... She frowned when she saw there seemed to not be one. There was a vistor's badge around her neck as she walked it fluttered a little.
Willow shook her head, softly. There were a tonnnnn of people, and her ears flattened as she was intimated she was hoping for at least a quite place to hide. She made her way over to where a reaper was standing, he seemed pretty pale. Her tail wrapped around herself as she moved, to keep it from getting in anyone's way and to keep it from being bit by a book that seemed particularly aggravated. "Sooo... is it always this crowded?" She asked quietly trying not to invade the others space.

Oh... So it wasn't actually tied to the boil. Jove's ears dropped ever so slightly, it could have been useful to have the thing truely tied on. Tomoko seemed to get anxious when her ball of stars wasn't safely and securely in her hands, but maybe she would have been reassured if she could tie it to herself. Maybe like a giant, starry pendant.
His tail gave another wag. This one was understanding him really well! But at the question about being some sort of dog ghost, he nodded more slowly. That time his expression was hesitant, clearly showing his lack of sure knowledge in the area. He was almost afraid Kallos would ask more, like what sort of ghost he was exactly. The most logical conclusion was that he was some sort of foxfire, both the same and different from the fluffy little poofs often kept as pets but Jove was still unable to figure out what made him different. Aside from the fact that the little critters had no aptitude for proper schooling.
Thankfully the topic turned to the books and Jove gave another tail wag. He had enjoyed books since he was taught to read them, and his enthusiasm for reading had been renewed since his return from the recent field trip.
