"How does one atone for their sins? Well, the answer is simple... They don't."

It had been two days since Vincent had set out to sea. Two days in the unbearbly small dingy that was given to him for a handful of coins. It only took an hour for Vincent to have regretted his decision, but he had sworn to visit this place, as he had heard such mysterious things about it. A training ground for those who were outcasts. It had sound like a perfect place for him.
At last, a desposed ship, the so-called top of the Spire, was within sight. As the dingy came close, Vincent jumped up swiftly to the side of the ship, grabbing the side deftly. The dingy below had broken apart from the agile and sudden movement of Vincent's, but it didn't matter anymore. He was here. With another jump, he made it to the deck, where he stood and took in the sight. It really was apt to call it a ghost ship. It seeped dread and death. But Vincent knew better than judge by appearances, and instead headed towards what he thought was the entrance. He went forward through the opening, and came to a set of stairs, heading down towards the lower levels. He started his way down, unsure of what lay ahead.

The Spire was a safe place where one could train, become stronger, and not have to necessarily worry about the outside world. This place that Rikkaetheon had heard so much about, this place hidden below the ocean itself, this was going to be his new home. The only regret Rikkaetheon had was not getting his headphones fixed before the voyage. Music would have made the trip better. Oh well though, once he was there he could immerse himself in training and learn to heal and help others. Light willing, he would become a great cleric.

The so called ghost ship loomed ahead, once he got on it, he merely needed to find the entrance to the spire. It wasn't terribly hard to find, and in doing so he began his decent into the spire. The closer he got to his new home, the more anxious he became. What if it wasn't like the rumors? What if it was already destroyed? What if they didn't want him? No. Self doubting and worrying were going to get him nowhere. He trusted the light, and the light led him here. Faith, hope, these where the way to real happiness.

"How does one atone for their sins? Well, the answer is simple... They don't."

Vincent had finally reached the outside of the tower, the deck of the ghost ship. He fell to his knees, thankful for the fresh air. His head hurt, and his body shook uncontrollably. Vincen moved his hands to cover his chest, and he started to gasp in the air... What the hell is happening! Vincen was beginning to get worried, as his vison began to get worse and worse. Finally, his head went blank, and his vision black. His body toppled over, and Vincent was out like a light.

I am not like you. I am not like your neighbor, or your friend. I am me. And that enough makes me perfect.

It was hard to find it, the vessel that would take him to the place he wanted to go. But when he did, he did not hesitate to take board. There was a certain attraction to the spire that he had always admired. A home for those who had no home. A place where even the lowliest of thugs could reach equality. However, there was also something he found disgusting about these lands, filled with idealism. They were empty, unendearing, and never once did they impress him. However, nothing could suppress the feelings he once held as a child, as he stared out from his home, looking to the tattered spire almost as if it were the afterlife. And that is why he had to come here... just, once. Just to see if it was all he had imagined it to be. If it were somewhere he could belong. He would not flee Luray, no, that was his life now... but, he always wanted to have somewhere to run to, when this life shattered, when he was no longer wanted, when he was alone and weak. And perhaps -- just perhaps, this place would open its doors, and offer him the shelter he needed.

But apart from such thoughts was the strange sense of confusion, as he saw a man, passed out on the doorstep, almost as if they removed him with force. Maybe... maybe, these lands weren't all they appeared to be. But at hand -- he decided to act.

Stepping over and kneeling down -- he began to examine the man's body for any bleeding, any wounds or anything of the sort. However, after a time, he knew that he would not find any. He was fine -- safe. So then, why was he here? Did he fall asleep? It didn't seem that way. There was no peace -- only an irritated frown covering the sleeping man's face. Xander, knowing he wouldn't get through to him through verbal means, decided to try and pick the man up -- hoping to carry him to where he belonged. But, after all attempts, he could see that it was futile. The boy did not possess either the strength or conviction to carry what may have been a danger. So he waited -- against the wall, as he counted the time that would pass. User Image

"How does one atone for their sins? Well, the answer is simple... They don't."

From the darkness came voices, haunting Vincent from the past. Hessaia's form began to appear, once again to torment him. "Why did you do that? Why couldn't you have just left us alone. No one wanted you. No one cared... You should have died, NOT ME!" Hessaia's image began to distort, and the surroundings once again became a forest, as they always did in Vincent's dreams. He was there again, on the ground, unable to move his body, unable to talk, even unable to think. All he could do was stare, stare right at the corpse of Hessaia, the crimson blood still flowing from the body. As this went on, for what seemed like days, Vincent began to feel hot, and what he thought was tears ran down his face. What was happeneing...

Vincent's eyes shot open. He was drenched in sweat once again, soaked in his own fear. He was able to percieve a pair of shoes, over by teh wall. As he shifted his view, he looked up, and saw a boy leaning against the wall, staring at him. Vincent pushed himself up, only to slouch backwards, and fall to the floor. He tried once again to lift himself up, and failed. His strength was gone, and he didn't know why. He wwas perfectly fine, nothing was wrong, but he was drained of all his will. Vincent pushed himself over to the wall, and slouched against it, beside the boy leaing there. "Who... You?" Vincent could not force himself to talk much more.

((Very enthusiastic friend request, btw. X3 Though thanks, I has no problem with it whatsoever. ^_^))

(I needa stop playing video games while I RP xD)

''Who... what? Me? Uh... who am I? That... seems to matter less and less as I watch you. First, you showed nothing. Silence. Then... you turned in your sleep... or whatever it was, acting in aggression, agony, fear. And then... sadness. But now... now you're awake. And I still cannot understand what had been going on... But I do not pry. I will not ask you what you were experiencing and why... I will only ask you this: do you need me for anything? Are you... okay? I know I'm a stranger... I know I don't matter... but it's hard for me, of all people, to watch something like this, while still pretending I don't care." In a way, he was worried for him -- despite the fact that he had not known him at all. But everything happened for a reason. Perhaps, if Vincent did not come here, if he did not collapse, then Xander would have simply been stopped and the door and returned home. And even as cold and heartless as Xander was, he could not keep at bay the only human emotions he had left.

He couldn't help but try to hide a small smile on the curve of his lips, for talking to new people -- especially men -- had always been something of excitement for him. It was nothing hormonal, it was the small desire to learn all he could from those he could look up to. Maybe, behind the sadness and confusion, Vincent had alot that he could share. User Image

Vincent listened intently at the mass of words spewing from Xander's mouth. He tried his best to follow, but was lost in all the words that were being thrown around. What he did understnad, though, was that this boy was concerned for him, even if they had never once met before. "Talk too much..."

Vincent straightened himself out against the wall, and started to nudge himeslf up, using the wall as support. When he was almost up all the way, Vincent could feel his strength start to give out. He looked to the boy, still perplexed at his presence, as well as his intentions, and deduced that he meant no harm to Vincent. He reached his hand out, and breathed deeply. "Take this hand... My gratitude... You'll have." Vincent knew he could not hold himself up much longer. It was now, or never, that the boy decide what to do. Vincent could feel himself slipping away again, and knew, for some god-forsaken reason, that if he fell asleep again, he would not wake up...

((Why so? I find no problem doing it personally. X3))

(Hmm... let him hunch over and die, or be a hero twisted )

''...Sure you want that?" The boy said, as he held out his arm -- the gauntlet that covered his arm emitting a warm glow. But this gauntlet was not synthetic. It was a part of him. And it was the cause of many people's hesitation -- many people's fear. ''Having to pick between the right thing or the shameless thing... it was never easy for me. But I'm not afraid anymore. Risk will always be present, but at the end, rewards as well. And I dunno about you, but gratitude sounds kinda nice right about now. Hope I can handle it," With his render -- the arm signifying that he was a member of the Reapers -- he took the man's hand, and with his other arm, he grasped Vincent's back. He was safe -- he would not fall over, though he could never be sure if he would willingly give in. But... this wasn't so bad. As strange as the situation was, he liked this feeling. Being depended on... even if it meant acting differently than any time before... it felt revolutionary. It was something new, and this feeling... he would not give it up. So maybe it was stupid, but the longer he held onto Vincent, the closer he brought the man in. They were hardly far apart now -- and as uncomfortable as it was to feel the weight of the man pressing down on him, there was an odd sense of warmth coming onto him from all sides. He was afraid of the other man's reaction -- but instinct told him that right now, he needed someone there.

Even if he denied it, this man, he thought, would enjoy the closeness just as much as the one who brought it upon.User Image

(Not sure if that post was too understandable sweatdrop Basically, his render -- the gauntlet (it doesn't feel super metallic though, actually feels alot like a normal hand) is holding your hand, while his other arm brought you in while holding your back/waist. Now, it's almost as if they were cuddling. xD Except a little more awkward.)

The hand that took Vincent's was odd, but arm still. He did not mind it, as he did not try to judge others. Whatever it was that was off, he may learn later, or not. Either way, Vincent was thankful for the help he was receiving... It had been a long time since he had accepted any form of physical help, and it felt so odd to him. His body began to warm up subtly, as he was brought clsoer and closer to the boy's warmth. Happy to be feeling better, he let his left hand rest upon the boy's shoulder, and set his feet to stand balanced. "Thank you. I... Don't let go... Yet." Vincent was still unsure of his footing, and was still getting wrmer, the coldness of his seat from earlier was leaving his body. He let his head rest upon the free shoulder of the boy for a moment, before looking back to his eyes. "I'm good." Vincent did his best to smile in gratitude of the boy's actions, but knew that he was failing. It had been so long since he had shown such a facial feature, and was not well-versed in using it.

((No no, don't you worry about me, I understood it completely~))

''...I'm not." He felt bold for saying this -- but whatever this feeling was... he didn't want it to die down, to secede. He had never in his life, ever held someone like this. Not even when he was a child. Not even by his father. It felt... comforting. And it was an absent fulfillment. He felt that he didn't need to do anything -- to just stand there, as he was brought... affection. And as the man rested his head against his shoulder, a blush came upon him that had still not gone away. ''I... sorry. Maybe that was too much. But I wasn't lying there... I'm not afraid to admit that. Maybe I talk too much... maybe I'm irritating, and you want to be rid of me, but I like this feeling. The feeling of being... equal to someone. We both gave each other something back there... I don't want to be thanked for it. I was just a little afraid... I still am." Trying to let off his intensive emotions with a simple laugh, he tossed a small smile as well. And then, only then, did he show the man the reason for his fear. Not a word came from him, he simply stared at Vincent, their eyes meeting as Xander's iris shifted from blue to pink. Within his race, this was a sign of attraction. And to have such a thing for someone who would never return it was a fearful thing alone.

(Xander's emotions =

Happy = Blue iris
Neutral = Purple iris
Angry/upset = Red iris
Irritated = Beige iris
Attraction/Love = Pink iris (though obviously, it's just pink thanks to attraction right now, he ain't in love lol)
Hatred = Black iris
Agony = Yellow iris

Thanks to his bloodline his eye color changes depending on his emotions, like a mood ring.)User Image

As the boy's words came to Vincent's ears, he couldn't help but feel something inside him move. Even if it was only a little, emotion ran through his body, causing Vincent to gasp. He watched as the boy's eyes turned color, as emotions seeped from his very being, pouring on Vincent, falling into his mind. Vincent felt things stir, things not felt for years, not since he shut himself off. Even though they were minor, he could not but be thankful to this boy, for starting what was once lost, even if it was small.
Yet, Vincent knew that as he was, he was not good... "I'm sorry... I... I can't..." Vincent let go of the shoulder he was clinging to, and let huis gaze drop low. "I'm broken..." Vicnent put his hand to his face, feeling sweat drip down it, wanting to wipe it away. He was surprised to feel that it was a tear that hadd fallen, not sweat. He was flabbergasted, speechless. How could a simple boy, and a couple of simple actions, along with honest words, change so much in Vincent... Vincent looked up once again, and into the pink eyes that greeted his own. "You're not annoying... I envy your talk... I can't... Do it much."

''Then we can be broken... together. Emotion... I know it's hard to feel it for the world sometimes... but we don't have to keep it away. It won't hurt us. I won't harm you, Vincent. Because..." As he stared into the man's eyes -- wet and in strain, his own eyes began to water. Emotion, all it had been for him in his whole life was a chain. Dragging, pulling him back, to show him that he could never be more than what the world wanted. But here, now, he felt the first tinge of happiness since birth. A light sniffle sounded from his nose, as he wiped the water from his eyes. ''I'm sorry... I'm getting so emotional, hehe... I hoped for a day like this... in my despair... where I could meet someone to whom I could relate. I didn't need a relationship... I just wanted a friend. But I don't think a friend could ever do for me what I need. I don't want you to be afraid, Vincent. Because I'm scared too... and the way it's going now, we're both looking like pansies, haha." He couldn't help but smile -- as the shade of pink in his eyes seemed to intensify, and the grasping emotion within him slowly began to ignite. He told himself that now, it was time to stop being a child. Whatever he was, it was time to become better. And to take this first step, he would show the other man -- and himself -- that he had no fear. So it wouldn't be such a shock, that as the two stared eachother down, Xander's sight would draw closer, before, after a time, he nuzzled Vincent's nose, as he pressed together their lips.User Image

"How does one atone for their sins? Well, the answer is simple... They don't."

Such honesty, such truth, and such emotion came from Xander. Vincent was bewildered at how much this was effecting him on such a personal level... Who was this young man, who could so easily start to sweep away the pain, and the torment that Vincent had endured for so long. His mind was being set at ease, his body becoming more relaxed. As tears started to flow more down Vincent's face, he felt no shame in them, as he would have given any otehr circumstance. "There's no shame... In feeling what you can." Vinjcent felt Xander get closer, and saw that the distance between their faces was closing. Vicnent was unsure of his readiness, but had no desire to cut off their tie so soon. As Xander's nose reached his own, he felt no shame, and no regret. He was starting to open once again, and a smile drew it's was across Vincent's face. Ha was happy, oh so happy, that someone could understand some of what had tormented him for years. He was happy, that someone could bring such a glimmer of light to his own darkness. As their lips touched, warmth spread across Vincent's body, and he knew that this young man, this heroic saviour, was what he needed, and wanted, in his life. They remained connected for what seemed like hours, but finally Vincent withdrew his lips. He looked into Xander's eyes, and smiled gently, once again. "My gradtitude, and more, is yours... May I ask... The Spire, do you belong? Or..." Vincent gave the boy a long, hard stare. He wanted to know how much he could see of Xander, this living, breathing hope of his.

''N-no... Amaranthine. I've lived there, with the royal family for... as long as I can remember. It's... far from here, really, really far. But that's okay. Regardless of who caused it or what happened, me and you are..." It was, at the time, hard to describe what to call them. Were they together? They had only just met, but it began to feel that way. He felt... so close. He did not want to leave, did not want to move away from him even an inch. Almost as if he was bound. And he knew that right now, it would be hard to return home. As almost emotionless as his words were, he still began to see that Vincent perhaps felt inside of him, just as much as Xander did. He began to wonder... what did he think of him? Despite all of the talk, and even the action, the boy was still just as nervous as when all of this began. But that would not stop him from saying what he would say next. ''We're together. That okay with you?" The boy said, as a small smile lit across his face. But then he realized that they would not stay together much longer, as distance would keep them apart. And at that short-noted moment, he took both of Vincent's hand, as he tried to stand up. ''I can take you to my home, for now, if you want. The spire will always be your home, but Amaranthine will always be mine, and I can bet they're terribly worried about me. But this does not mean we have to part ways here. Maybe you can see my home -- as I have seen yours, and can meet the only people who have given me shelter in the past years. It'll almost be like going off to meet the family... except a bit... cav-ier... and... darker... and maybe a bit scarier. Whaddya say?" His emotions oddly lightened, from their moody, emotional state, to a friendly demeanor. He struggled to understand how he could manage another trip so soon, but if it was good for him, then it would be done.User Image

Together... Together? That sounded so distant, yet so welcoming. Vincent took that wrd, and placwed it deep in his heart, knowing full well that it meant more than just the simple meaning, as emotions entwined their way along it's letters. As Xander told him to come along, to visit his home, Vincent's chest tightened up, and his breathing slowed. He began to think, and to wonder as to what the best course of action was. Of course, he wanted to go... "I-I don't know... I only just came, and I'm weak... So much to learn... I..." Vincent let his gaze drop once again, and his thoughts became even more muddled. He wanted to go, but he needed to get stronger. Did the want outweigh the need? What was right, and what was wrong... Vincent looked up again, tears filling his eyes. "Can... I come visit you soon? I need... Strength, before I can go anywhere. Can you wait? Am I worth the wait?" Vincent didn't want to hurt Xander at all, but knew he needed to train, he needed to be able to stand one the same plane as Xander, who he could sense was stronger. Perhaps even protect Xander, if the need arised.
