He growled and reminded himself yet again that he couldn't kill the irksome mare just yet. That didn't mean that he couldn't plan, though. He slinked through the trees, plotting.

Such a sourpuss, she mused to herself. But I didn't pick him for his charm...or lack thereof...he's a smart one. Useful. Still...I'm going to have to keep an eye on him.

He was coming up with a plan F when he finally emerged from the swap. He glanced to the sky to see if she was still there or if he'd freed himself of her.

He growled and just barely managed to stop himself from lunging at her. Once again, he reminded himself that he had decided to accept her assistance. He couldn't kill her. Yet.

"No point in tracking them if we don't have a plan," she mused, inhaling deeply trying to pick up a scent. The lack of tangible evidence brought a scowl to her features. "They made it further than I thought...look around, try to use that nose of yours....see what you can smell."

He snarled at her, not liking her patranizing tone one bit. "I, you overglorizied bat, am a wolf. Not a hound dog of any sort, and I do not answer to you."

He decided to take her concession at face value and ignore the tone. He sniffed the air again, until he caught the faint scent of blood, drifting down from overhead. "They went north," he said, already taking off in that direction.
