Ryo was impressed by how Neoko handled the situation. He knew now that he had made the right choice. He did not want to have some one that he was able to understand without effort. She was also very compatible with the team. With things set back to a stable state, Ryo turned to the Hokage.
"Your mission will take you the the edge of the of what was once the sound village. There have been reports of attacks on shinobi that have been returning from their missions. Survivors of the attacks were unable to give much detail about the attacks and most died soon after they reached their villages. From what was able to be deduced, the attacker was working alone and has yet to attack a ninja from our own village. This note was brought to me because of the fact that we have had ninja cross through that area without being attacked at all. Because of this we are responsible for finding out who this person is. There is a squad from the lightning village that will be returning to their village today. Your mission is to track them as they return to their village and make sure they get back safely. They will not be aware of your mission, so you must make sure that neither they nor the attacker know you are there. If the attacker makes a move, you are to engage him long enough for the Kumo ninja to make it away and return here with all the information you can about him. Only once we have more details about him can we come up with a plan to put an end to his attacks. In the unlikely event that you get the chance, you have authorization to eliminate him. However, your two main priorities are to make sure the kumo ninja make it away and that you return as well. I am sending you because I need people that can take in the details that are needed. Tou, though Ryo is the captain of this mission, you must make sure that he has the time he needs to gather the information that he needs to get. It may become difficult for him to gather information and protect the team at the same time. I need you to make sure that he dose not need to worry about that and I know you are able to do just that. Neokona, by clan law, you are no longer a ninja under my command. The Yunichie serve the village but you serve only one now. This mission will give you the chance to learn from Ryo. I can tell that he is eager to teach you as well. Mikon, make sure they get along well enough to come back in one piece." Noruto finished with a smile. He went over every thing in his head for a moment. "That should be it. You have one hour to ready yourselves for the mission. The kumo ninja will be leaving from the front gate ten minutes after that. Be sure you are ready to move by then." Naruto finished and turned to leave.

Neoko was more than happy that he chose to stay with the team and that the kunai was finally out of her. As she returned to the rest of the team behind Tou, the pain from the cut started to kick in. She only made it worse when she started checking how bad it really was. Dang it...I think I pushed it a bit too far. Can't do anything about it now though without getting the others worried. She was just going to have to deal with it for now.
For a day that had started out so good, it had taken a nasty turn for the worse. At least now though things were starting to calm down. When the others had gotten back, she noticed that Neoko was bleeding rather badly. Being a med nin, Mikon's instincts instantly told her she needed to do something. She went over to Neoko, making a quick examination of the injury and its location. It was rather deep, and with it being right over the girls heart only made it worse. "Alright, I'm going to need all the guys to look the other way for a moment...That includes you two as well Lord Hokage and Mr. Uchiha." When all the guys were no longer looking in their dirrection, Mikon lifted Neoko's shirt up to get a better idea of how bad it was and what she needed to do. First thing first, she had to stop the bleeding, so she used a jutsu that would cause the blood around the area to clot up. She then used another jutsu that would heal the injury completely, or at least enough to where it wouldn't be life threatening. Mikon examined her work for a moment before she was satisfied and let Neoko's shirt drop back into place. "There, all done. It's still going to hurt a bit, but it's not going to bleed out anymore."

Tou frowned as the village of sound was mentioned. He never liked the location, it reminding him of the stories he had heard about what went on there. He then shook he head and standing, bowed to the Hokage. He then asked, "Hokage... Is it alright if I can talk to you and Sasuke in private? There has been something that has been worrying me for some time, and the two of you are the only people currently available that have knowledge about the source of my concern." He then waited, his robes blowing gently in the breeze.

Naruto turned to look at Tou. He could see that some thing was troubling him. That he needed to speak in private only made it more apparent that it was important. Naruto nodded. "This way Tou. Naruto said as he walked over to a small gazebo. Sasuke made a few hand signs and placed his hands on the wall of the gazebo. All the sound from the outside was drowned out. "This should work well enough. No sound can go in or out of this gazebo. What is it that has been on your mind Tou."
Ryo watched as Tou walked away with the Hokage. He turned his attention to Neokona. He could not help but smile at how bold she was. "Neokona, that was a very brave thing you did. If I had done the same thing it would have gone to a fight." He looked her over to make sure that she was not still bleeding. "You will need to change before we leave. I can't have you running around with blood on your shirt. Your room has already been outfitted with new clothes and Yunichie robes that are only given to the main house. Out side the walls of the compound, you are as much of a Yunichie as I am. There are no branches that divide us. So you must look the part." Ryo gave her a calm smile. "Mikon, I want you to go with her while she changes and give her a full examination. I want to make sure that all her concerns are taken care of before we leave. After that you may go and get whatever you need for the mission. The Hokage will make sure that Tou is at the gate ready to go. I will be in my room getting ready as well. Be ready at the gate in fifty minutes." Ryo finished as he led the way into the house. He came to a door. "This is your room Neokona. My room is the next door down. The door directly to my room is marked with the family crest and will only respond to Yunichie chakra. If you need anything from me, I will be in my room getting ready. We leave the compound in forty minutes." Ryo said in a friendly tone as he opened the door to his own room.

Tou looked around to see if anyone was watching them, moving around the gazebo with an air of intent before turning back to Naruto and Sasuke. "This might seem like a strange question, but I feel that you two could give me an answer. How can one tell if they have a Kekki Genkai?"
He looks around the Gazebo again before returning the focus to the Hokage. "I ask this question of you because over the years that have past, Hokage, you have seen and traveled with many individuals that possessed unique or unusual abilities."
He then turns to Sasuke, "Sasuke, I also ask you because you possess a Kekki Genkai yourself: the Sharingan and it's derivative power, the blaze release."

Once again it seemed as if Ryo didn't quite understand the reason behind her actions. This time though, Neoko would not correct him. Something told her that he would only feel guilty if he knew the truth. As they walked to their rooms, the oath that she had taken no more than an hour ago played in her head. She had sworn to give everything to protect Ryo from harm, and that included her life if it came to than. But no where in the oath did it say anything to the effect of physical harm only. Neoko knew that if Tou had left the team, it would have caused Ryo a great deal of emotional pain. It was something she couldn't allow to happen.
When they were finally at the rooms, Neoko wasted little time in going into hers. Even if it was only a few moments, she needed some time to clear her head. So much had happened...so much new information was given to her that she wasn't given time to fully comprehend. The sooner she was able to be alone the better, so she wanted to get this full examination done quickly.
Mikon followed Neoko into her room, closing the door behind her. The young girl had already started removing her cloths, a bit of an indication that she wasn't wanting to waste any of the little time they had to prepare. "Don't worry, I'll make this as fast as I can." Mikon asured her as she got started. The exam didn't find many things to be wrong. There were a few pulled musles that were easily fixed using a massage like jutsu that had been designed spesificly for such injuries. The cut from the kunai had healed completely the first time, but she double checked it just to be on the safe side. Other than that, there was only one thing that concerned her. Neoko's chakra level seemed to be a bit low, and she had a feeling as to why. Mikon didn't say anything about it to her though, not sure that she would take her advice. "Ok, you're all fixed up and ready to go. If you need me, I'll be in Ryo's room for a bit giving him a pre mission exam before I head off to find Tou for the same reason." She gave a warm smile before leaving the room, now knocking on Ryo's door. "Alright Ryo, it's your turn now."

Naruto looked at Tou for a long moment. He knew that he would not ask this without great reason. "A Kekki Genkai, is split into two section. Some are abnormalities in the DNA of a ninja that are found by the holder and exploited. As time goes on, the use of it makes it a stronger part of the DNA and passable through genetics. These are the ones that are mutations of the body, mind, or even chackra. Much like the Uchiha sharingan. Others are derived by very skilled shinobi that create a very unique jutsu and pass it on to their children. This is much like the Senju clan's wood element jutsu. It is a combination of earth and water elements. Though, any shinobi with the right skill can do the same as long as they have the right type of chakra. But the Senju perfected it that their chakra type became a dominate feature in their bloodline. Now in the first two shinobi wars, many of the holders of bloodline traits were killed off for fear of their power. Only the strongest of them made it through it. Even then they were so down in numbers that their existence was only a threat to themselves. And so, many hid away and let their bloodlines die out. Every so often the bloodline will pop up in a descendant. If the conditions are right, the bloodline will surface. Other than pure chance, there are very few ways to be able to determine if a person has a a Kekki Genkai. So unless one were to find one of these other ways, it would be up to that person to find out if the have a a Kekki Genkai." Naruto said with a lifted eyebrow.
Once in his room, Ryo took a deep breath and let all the stress of the day flow out of him. He never let it show but, the events of the day took a toll on him. He had slightly sprained his wrist during the sparing match and was still charged with static energy. He had to get rid of it before he could begin with any thing else. He walked over to a corner of his room where the was a metal imprint of a hand. Ryo pressed his hand against it and forced all the charged chakra from his body. It stung for a moment but, Ryo did not flinch from the pain. Once he was done with that he looked at himself in a mirror. He set aside a set of clean clothes as he began to gather the other things that he needed. Then it hit him. 'My greatest duty is to protect my clan. And that is what I plan to do. I will end the separation and bring the clan together once more. But, in order to do that, I have to become a traitor to my own clan...' Ryo looked up at a photo of a younger Ryo and his father. 'I hope I am doing the right thing.' Ryo took off his robes and his shirt. When he went to grab for his clean set of clothes, he froze as he heard the knock at the door. 'Darn, didn't move fast enough. I could have avoided it if I was dressed but, I can't say no like this.' Ryo thought to himself as he slid the door open. "Lets get this done quick. Med-nin or not, I don't feel right being this exposed in front of you." He said as he moved away from the door to let her in.

Tou raised an eyebrow at Naruto's explanation, for it basically told him that there was no easy way to test if one had a Kekki Genkai. He sighed and began to tell Sasuke and Naruto, his mentor and the Hokage, why he asked them this question about Kekki Genkai. "The reason why I ask you this question... is because I'm not normal. I learned faster then most other people, mastered three basic elemental releases without any difficulty, and I have the stamina to fight multiple opponents my chakra level or higher without breaking a sweat. I know that this is not only unnatural in a chunnin-level ninja, but impossible, as a chunnin-level ninja usually can not learn more then one release, for their chakra control is usually not strong enough to learn multiple releases at that level. I must have something aiding me, otherwise it wouldn't make sense." He then looked at each of them in turn, trying to read their thoughts. "So... What do you suggest I do?"

The usual smile that almost always graced Mikon's face wasn't presant as she walked into the room. It was a clear sign that something was troubling her. She also noted what Ryo said about being exposed, and knew how to fix that problem right away. Going over to his bed, she grabbed the sheet off of it and draped it over his body, covering all but his head. "Sorry if I'm not as quick about this as you would like, but since you're the captain on this mission, I'm obligated to report any medical concerns I have with other members of the team." She had already started the exam proccess as she spoke, placing her hands on either shoulder and pumping small amounts of chakra into his body. "Neoko's chakra levels are a bit on the low side. Normally a decent rest would sufice in bringing those levels back up to normal, but she doesn't have that option because of the mission." At this point, Mikon had pinpointed Ryo's injuries and had begun working on fixing them. "Her best choice with the time restraints that she has is to resort to food pills, but that's not what's bothering me. What's bothering me is how she lost so much chakra in such a short fight." Mikon finished healing the last of Ryo's small injuries, and was now looking him dead in his eyes. What she was going to say next wasn't going to be pleasant. "I think the chakra drainage is because of her use of your clans Nanjigan. No one ever taught her the proper way to use them, and I don't think she's had many chances to practice using them either. Her lack of knowledge concerning them is causing her to use too much chakra when she uses the jutsu. If she isn't careful, the combination of low chakra levels and the side effects from the food pills are going to....they're going to make her life a very short one if things go bad on this mission."
With Mikon no longer in the room, Neoko was finally able to just break down.Her body was shaking as everything from that day started hitting her like a ton of bricks. The most painful of them was what the Hokage had said. Though she hadn't reacted to it at the time, Neoko had heard exactly what he had said concerning her as a ninja. It all boiled down to one simple fact...she was no longer a shinobi of the leaf. Her only purpose in life was now to protect only Ryo and help in making his dreams come true at the cost of being stripped of her own.
After a while, Neoko finally got a grip on her emotions and was able to settle her nerves. She knew she had wasted too much time already, and had to rush to get prepared. The first thing on her agenda was getting dresses. Though Ryo had told her that there would be clan robes provided for her to wear, she paid no attention to them. Doning such an atire would be like holding a sign over his head that said clan leader. It would put a target on his back. Neoko dressed in her usual cloths, not caring if he would have a problem with it. The next thing on her list was restocking her ninja tools, but first she had to figure out where they were.

Ryo listened as Mikon reported on Neoko's medical conditions. He had noticed the same thing during the fight but had not wanted to confront the subject at the time. But now he had to tell her what was going to happen. "The fact that she is even able to use it is both disturbing and extraordinary. She was able to obtain what the elders have been using a great deal of their power to prevent. The drain on her chakra is due to the fact that she did not have the training required to use it. And I know what you mean by the threat to her life. One may think of it this way. You can sharpen a sword all you like but, if you have no strength in your arm, you may as well be swinging a stick. She dose not know how or where to focus the chakra required to use the Nanjigan. That is what I plan to teach her. Though, in the attempt to break the system of my family, I feel that I have now put her in a far worse situation. I have chained her to me like a slave in order to save her from a far worse threat. Ryo stopped talking for a moment. The information he was now coming close to was not something that any one was ready for. So he went back to the more present cancern. "I don't want to take the risk of food pills. I never liked them that much myself. I will give her a partial chakra transfusion of my own chakra. It would be better than the food pill and I know how to conserve my chakra much better than her. It should not affect my performance much at all." Ryo grabed a box near his night stand. Inside we the supplies that Neoko would need as well as the chakra sword that his mother had once used and her guardian jacket. It was still in great condition and had all Yunichie symbols removed. "Before you leave, could you drop this off at Neoko's room. I have not stocked the room with supplies yet but these should serve her well."
Sasuke glanced at Naruto for a second. Naruto was deep in thought at the moment. When he finally looked up he looked at Tou for a moment. "It is a clear indication that some form of a Kekki Genkai. As to what it is, there is no way of telling just yet. You need to be cautious during this mission. If you lose control and your a Kekki Genkai surfaces, you will not know how to cotrol it and could end up harming yourself or even your team. If you find yourself in that situation, you will need to exit the fighting until everything is calm again. Don't push yourself or you may do more damage then good. If you figure something out about it, report to me once you return from the mission. From there we should be able to track down just what your a Kekki Genkai is and find the best way to help you learn to use it." Naruto looked around for a moment. "You best start getting ready for the mission. Sakura will beat my face in if I am late for my next appointment. I will see you when you return." Sasuke nodded and they both began to walk away.

Mikon didn't like the idea of a chakra transfusion too much, not with the limited amount of time they had. She couldn't deny though that it would be safer of Neoko than over use of food pills. "I'll let her know that we'll be doing a transfusion and to not take any pills. Also, whether you like it or not, I'm going to tell her not to use the Nanjigan anymore untill she has a chance to learn how to use them the right way." Mikon took the box from Ryo as she left his room, stopping again at Neoko's. She set the box down in front of the door and knocked. "Neoko, there's a box of supplies out here that Ryo asked me to give you. I also want to let you know that Ryo doesn't want you taking any food pills. I'm going to do a chakra transfusion on you before we head out." With that said, Mikon left the house of the Yunichie main family. Seeing that Tou was still speaking with the Hokage, she chose to go ahead and head to her place first to get ready. She would stop by his house before the mission to give him his exam.
Neoko nearly trashed her room searching for her ninja tools, or any of her other belongings for that matter. "He said they were bringing all my stuff over here...so where is it?" Other than her cloths, it didn't seem like they had brought anything over, and it was upsetting her. The few tolls she had on her weren't going to be enough for the mission if they had to engage the target. A few minutes went by before Neoko heard a knock on her door and Mikon's voice saying that there was a box for her as well as something about a transfusion to fix her chakra level. Looks like a quick fix is out of the question now. She thought as she went and gathered the box that had been left. It had most of what she would need in it, minus the chakra sword that she didn't know how to use. Everything else she placed in her two hip pouches. That brought her total ninja tool supply up to 25 shuriken, 25 kunai, 30 ft of wire, 10 paper bombs and three smoke bombs. There was also a small satchel with about a dozen food pills that she had already had on her. She was going to bring them with her despite what Ryo had said. The only other thing left in the box now was a jacket that had a slight resembelance to the long jacket the Hokage wore in general design. It was shorter in length, only going to about her hips. It was also different in color, being white with an electric blue tiger stripe pattern on the bottom edges. The last notable feature was the tiger on the back. Though it wasn't something she would want to bring with her, it would at least provide her with more space to store things that she brough with her as well as give a bit of extra protection if anything, so she put it on anyways. With that done, Neoko was ready to gowhenever Ryo was ready.

Ryo watched a Mikon left his and made his way to his fresh clothes and continued to change. He stopped for a moment as his hand reached for his father's clan robes. He thought of his father for a moment. He could feel the emotions welling up inside but, he pushed them back down to the back of of his mind as he put the robe on and placed his sword in the sheath on his back. Ready, Ryo opened the door to his room and walked to Neoko's door. "Ready when you are, Neokona."

Tou nodded at the hokage's words, for they were wise. Had he tried to activate his Kekki Gentai (if he even had one) while they were on the mission, he would have become a danger to the team even if they weren't fighting. If they got into a fight, and his Kekki Gentai activated... Tou shook his head to clear the bad visions he was seeing from out of his head. "I'll do as you say, Hokage. There should be no problems on this mission." He then left the area, and walked to his room, where his things where kept. Putting everything in order, he sat down and tried to mediate while he waited for Mikon to appear.

Neoko had been ready for a while by time she heard Ryo at her door. She walked out of the room, closing the door quickly behind her. The room was a disgraceful mess, and she didn't want to be told what she already knew. It would get cleaned once she got back. She looked to Ryo, and it would be easily seen that something had changed. Ever since the meeting earlier, there had been desire and determination blazing in her soul. But now there wasn't a trace of it. Sadness had found its way to her eyes, despite Neoko trying to hide it behind the look of an obdient servent. Her spirit was broken, though not destroyed. "Are we meeting Mikon at the front gate or at a different location?"
Mikon gathered her things for the mission. One of the most important of them being a scroll which contained a large list of poisons and how to make the antidote for each. Another was a list of medicinal herbs that grew in the areas she had been to. She would add to it the ones she found on this mission to the sound. There were also three summoning scrolls that she was bringing with her. One held serynges with pre made anti poisons. The second contained medicines that she had already mixed. The last held tools of her trade that she would use to make and anti poison or medicine that she didn't already have on her. Next to be packed were many small bags, each containing a different herb that she may need. That took care of the medical part of her packing. The rest was just a small stash of kunia, shuriken and a couple paper bombs. Walking over to her dresser, she took out a pair of what looked like sparring gloves. There was a major difference, though one couldn't see it. Between the layers of fabric were steel plates that made her punches more leathal.
With everything now gathered, Mikon shouldered her bag and headed out to where she assumed Tou would be at the moment, which was his place. When she got there, she tapped lightly on the door. "Are you decent?" She had to ask, considering that she had walked in on Ryo while he was without a shirt on. Not that either one was an eye sore. It was quite the opposite. They were both rather easy on the eyes. Mikon had enough respect for her fellow team mates though to not take advantage of her possition as their med nin.
