Skye had been so looking forward to prom, of course she was turning up with Jack and she clung to his arm out of excitement. She was wearing a longer dress then some might expect if they knew what she was like but she had it made for her just like a dress off of gossip girl - yes she was obsessed with that show!

She smiled at Jack as she walked in. Looking around she saw Serah and a few others she knew, some she didn't.

"Tonight is going to be fun." Skye whispered to Jack, she had that look in her eye letting him know the fun wouldn't end when prom did if that's what he wanted. She wanted to know where the drinks were though of course she was partially annoyed that there would be no alcohol and she wasn't desperate enough to stick a bottle under her skirt. Part of her hoped that Jack had a bottle in his jacket but she was sure they would soon get kicked out if caught with alcohol.

"Can't say much about the music choice..." Justin Bieber wasn't really her thing.

Guen peeked around Bebe's shoulder. While not exactly shy, she found the large crowd intimidating - and reflected again on how lucky she'd been to make a friend at her school who was similarly dateless. She glanced back at the purple haired girl, and attempted what she hoped was a wry grin. She could survive this evening. She even managed to wear the dress they'd picked out, and comb out all but the most stubborn curls her mother had insisted on hot-ironing into her scalp. Yes, the evening was looking decidedly up, grim prospect of a high school dance looming ahead or no. It might even be fun.

"Ready if you are," she replied with forced cheer. Fidgeting with the hem of her dress, she winced at the music choice. She didn't really listen to the radio but she could tell these tunes were so flat that if she had, she'd still have never heard them. Or at least she hoped so. Surely people's tastes hadn't gotten THAT bad.

Stepping into the room beside Bebe, she offered her arm in a gentlemanly fashion. "At least with this kind of music there won't be a lot of awkward slow dancing," she joked.

Prom, was it? That explained why she was so persistent in having him attend.. Senri leaned one arm against the entrance way to prom, silently observing the festivities. It wasn't that he was particularly new to prom, having attended his respective proms several years earlier. He didn't understand the tension of excitement for this particular prom, but since their last prom had been canceled.. Well, it was a time to make the best of it, wasn't it? Not that it would be particularly difficult since it seemed that DC had put a tremendous amount of effort into this affair.

Senri was dressed nearly immaculately with a matching black tie and suit. His collars of his white dress shirt were folded down primly, the tie situated snugly at the base of his neck. He had buttoned the first button on his suit, but left the rest alone, leaving it to split to reveal a hint of his black vest beneath. A silver accessory decorated his suit, on his left lapel, hanging from an intricate design from the upper lapel to the lower lapel. His bangs was gelled back, giving the model a mature air. The only hint of colors that remained were his blue hair, his blue eyes, and a startling flower tucked into his left chest pocket.

Prom was a place where most girls shined, and Senri appreciated the event.

Unlike those who disagreed with the music, Senri didn't particularly like or dislike Justin Bieber or Glee. He had no inclinations to trivial things of the sort, but if one were to force Senri into listening to it, he might have shoved a pie into their face.

His lips curved into wry amusement upon seeing the spiked punch bowls, making a particular note to try the fruit drink later.

Giving a slightly exaggerated curtsy, Bebe reached over and linked her arm through Guens with a giggle, falling in step beside her.

"I''m not sure what kind of dancing is expected of us, to be honest. I'm afraid all the steps I know aren't exactly cresting the peak of current rhythmic fashion. But I'm sure it's easy enough, and I see plenty of people on the floor who seem to have as much experience with it as I do."

Glancing around, her eyebrows rose a little. The place was packed with students, and decked out in all in their finery, the students from all the schools were indistinguishable. It bothered her a little, but she resigned herself to the fact that she might brush shoulders with less desirable company. Of course, there was a bit of fun in that as well, but it's not like she'd seek it out on purpose.

"Oh dear, looking around this room brings home to me just how utterly unsocial I've been since I arrived here. I don't suppose you can put a name to any of the faces in this crowd?"

Adira had not originally planned to go to prom. For the meantime, after traveling with her Father so recently, she had been sick of anything that you could call a 'social' event. In fact, since she'd gotten back she'd been kind've a shut in, attending the last of her classes and living vicariously through her alter ego, Sailor Perseus. So when Bo Hanley had asked her to prom, she had politely refused.

It was weird, however, not to be going to something else that was a topic on EVERYONES tongues. The whole city had been invited almost, at least the ones going to school anyways. Every corner she turned Adira heard the word 'dress' or 'prom' or a plethora of other things relating to the big event. She had done her best to ignore it, but a small part of it had taken seed in the back of her head, the thought of going growing until it was the morning of the big event.

Adira rolled out of bed and spent the next five whole minutes staring at the garment bags she'd brought back with her from her trip. The girl hadn't unpacked them, preferring to leave the few extravagant dresses in storage rather than find suitable space for them. Almost numbly, Adira stood and unzipped the bags, running her hands over the lace and taffeta creations inside. It was at that point she realized that even though it was a social event, it was one she wasn't expected to go to. No one was waiting for her there, no one had any expectations of her. It made the situation infinitely more appealing.

Adira Perses was going to prom. She didn't plan on going to a hairdresser or to get her makeup done, for something this last minute she was just going to have to do it herself. She wasn't quite sure how she managed to be ready in time after showering and blow drying her hair (with as much hair as she had, it always took forever to blow it out in a suitable fashion, at least an hour. Today it had taken two). Rummaging through her makeup, jewelry, and shoes, Adira had managed to throw together a prom worthy ensemble.

She arrived (fashionably) late, stepping out of her families town car without any pomp or escort. Her dress was something she'd picked up...somewhere after a fashion show. Adira didn't know what she would use it for when she purchased it, but it was too beautiful not to own. Earrings dripped from her ears, and old pair that she continued to love. Her hair had been left in its trademark spirals, cascading down her back in stark contrast to her white gown.

The inside of the venue was incredibly pretty, Adira supposed thats what happened when you were able to combine each schools prom budgets for two years. Adira stood at the door, not quite sure where to go from here. She wasn't sure who would be there, and she certainly didn't have a date despite being asked. It was probably the first time she'd ever felt this awkward at an event. Coming had been such a bad idea! The girl sighed. Now that she was here, she just wanted to be at home in her pajamas eating ice cream and watching kung fu movies.

Regardless of regret, Adira was here, and was going to stay at least for a little while. She walked further into the room, standing off to the side, looking for someone she knew.

Azzo nodded at Howl when he saw the boy had spotted him, that was fine, Azzo didn't mind one bit.

However, it startled him slightly when a girl came over to him. His brown eyes pulled away from the attention he was giving Aurora and Howl. "Yes I'm afraid it is." He replied to Genevieve, he only knew about the kid because of the fuss being made by the tweens. "I wouldn't know I lost interest when I saw the sheer amount of rabid fans, it's like twilight. For me I wouldn't touch those with a twenty foot pole."

He shook his head, "I thought proms played things like 'I hope you dance' or 'time of our lives' not Bieber. Our loss I guess."

For a moment - what might be a blissful moment for some of the prom-goers - the music stopped, and a woman took over the scene.

"Good evening, everyone ! We hope that you are enjoying the night so far !" The woman was all smiles. "I would like to have your attention for only a few minutes before the night can resume !"

The woman took a look at the sheet of paper she was holding. "Thank you to everyone who voted ! Those who have been chosen to be part of the prom count are as follows :

For the princes, we have -

Blake Allison
Howl Wickham
Lysander Cadwell
Fallon Novette-Naim
Bodhi Hanley
Elzo Xanis

And for the princesses, we have -

Aurora Namid
Eilian Halpan
Jada Chamberlyn
Victoria Collins
Daphne Xanis

Congratulations, and everyone else, please don't forget to send in a vote for who will end up with the crowns ! Thank you !"

And with that, the woman stepped off the stage - and the music resumed.

((Alright, now this voting will be a little different - to vote, please send a pm to the account Destiny City Prom with your choice of King and Queen, who must be from the list above ! Every character attending prom can vote, even if you havn't voted for the first round.

The winners for King and Queen will be announced at the end of prom !))

Chase hadn't cared much about prom last year, especially since he attended an all boy's school and he hadn't been dating anyone, not seriously, when prom rolled around last year. This year he had gone through and asked the lovely Kaia to go to prom with him. At first, when he had decided he was going to ask her, he had spent quite a while trying to figure out how he would ask her. Finally, the way he had done so was simple and sweet.

He had fashioned a paper box, filled it with both confetti stars and folded paper stars (that he reluctantly had to buy instead of make, it proved too much for his not so thimble fingers!) and at the bottom of the box was written, There are a million stars out there but I'd still pick you a million times. Will you go to prom with me? and the letters of his name had carefully been scribbled on the paper stars.

So there they were in the hustle and bustle of a crowded prom and Chase had found himself separated from his date. Wearing a disgruntled look he had sought out some punch, managing to grab two cups just before the punch was spiked, yet as he tried to hurry away he was caught up in whole mess.

Finally he had managed to slip away and maneuvered carefully through the place until he finally relocated Kaia. "Hey," he grinned, "sorry, some kids spiked the punch while I was trying to leave the table and some teachers thought I might have been a part of it."

more and more people were coming, it was really starting to have a party feeling.
Ariel could spotted Xavier with his girlfriend she guessed and Senri. She decided she could go and talked to him.

As she was walking toward the young man they announced the prince and princess list. She already knew for who she will vote for sure.

She decided to go vote first and then went toward Senri.
"Good evening"

Kaia's nervousness was temporary alleviated as she spotted a familiar bright head moving among the crowd, especially when the girl stopped to wave at her. A relieved smile parted her lips and she brought her own hand up to wave slightly, happy to finally have something to focus her attention on, no matter how small.

Then she saw another flash of pink bobbing through the crowd, carrying two cups of punch carefully in front of him. and her attention snapped up to look at Chase and his usual lopsided grin. The remaining tension in her shoulders relaxed and her smile settled permanently on her lips. Just the sight of him was enough to remind her why she'd come to prom and how easy it had been for him to convince her. He was a sweetheart, truthfully, and her temporary nerves were easy to forget the instant he came back.

"It's okay," she reached out and took one of the small plastic cups from him and cradled it between her hands, "you were only gone a little while, I survived for the most part."

She smiled brightly at him and took a small sip from the punch - sweet and fruity, bordering the line of a little too much. She was just glad he had managed to get some before those bratty teenagers ruined it completely.

"Besides, I saw Serah while you were gone."

There was a part of Aree's mind that said this was stupid. It was the part of her that caught Ever's eye and gave the boy a small nod, the part that searched the room in a constant loop, pausing on each and every agent she could sense. It was the part of her that made the skin on her arm shift beneath Claudia's hand, as though the spines beneath were testing to see just how hard it might be to break through. That part of her wanted to get the hell out of there, but Claudia squeezed her hand, and for a brief moment Aree was reassured.

Why was she reassured?

“I-ah.” What was she supposed to say when someone called her pretty? She had been called a lot of things lately, but rarely had anyone seen her face when half covered by scales and referred to it as pretty. So she did what Linarite had always advised her to do. Aree smiled, brushed her hair out of her own eyes, and said in a quiet voice, “Thank you.”

"Remember to move your hair or play with your jewelry," Audrey said as she curled Aree's hair on the morning of the Killingworth wedding. The then-Captain was still struggling with control over the newly acquired limb, and the violent emotions that had come along with it.

"Don't be so afraid to touch people. Make jokes. It helps make you seem more..." Audrey paused, and frowned at the word she'd almost said.

Human.

Aree pushed the memory out of her head. Now was not the time to be getting nostalgic simply because playing skinsack made her more open to such things. This was not Prom. This was Promconnaissance. There were observations to be made, and from the way her fingertips were just a tad bit darker, she had only few hours in which to make them.

It was odd, the way in which her youma half had always responded to Claudia's fearless affection for the strange creatures that made up a majority of the Negaverse's servants. Without even thinking about it, the disguised hand seemed to gently rest on Claudia's forearm at all times. Like a stranger in a strange land, terrified of losing her translator. Together they waded through that sea of people, the line for photographs having dissolved when the news got around that the punch had been spiked. If a room full of teenagers was Aree's nightmare, then a room full of drunk teenagers was a recipe for Promocalypse.

“Let's hope I show up,” Aree whispered quietly, resting a hand on Claudia's waist as the photographer instructed. She leaned in, and rested her cheek against the shorter girl's hair. "How drunk do you think we'll need to get Ever before he will lead a dogpile on Zac?"

Small touches.

Little jokes.

Human.

Devi sat at one of the tables, surrounded by a group of people she didn't know, silently drinking her fourth glass of punch. It tasted a little funky, a sharp unexpected taste. The students around her seemed to be much older, probably juniors and seniors at DCU - she was clearly the odd duck at the table. It had started with just her and another girl, but a crowd of strangers formed around her. Awkwardly, she rose from the table she had been sitting with for the past twenty minutes and left.

"Whoa," she felt a little dizzy. It wasn't the typical standing up to fast headrush, it was the ---- "Aw, ********." Someone must have spiked the damn punchbowl. She didn't mind that much, in fact, she figured having a buzz made the prom more of fun for her and easier socially. With a newfound and drunken encouragement to have fun, she made her way to the dance and whipped out her greatest dance moves to Justin Bieber's 'Baby.'

When Aree thanked her for the compliment Claudia's face lit up, glad that she did something right. She was still happy as a clam as the violet haired woman rested a hand on her arm. Even through the disguise the bluenette knew it was Arm, and she reached across her body to rest her hand on top of Aree's. She made sure not to leave the taller woman's side, she didn't want the Youma Queen to get lost in the crowd, but more importantly Claudia didn't want to get lost either. She'd be harder to find between the two.

The news of the punch bowl being spiked confused the seventeen year old for a moment, and then she realized what it meant. Alcohol. She made a mental note not to drink anything. She didn't want to be drunk, she wasn't old enough to even drink.

When it was their turn for photos Claudia felt a little self conscious, did she look pretty enough? Her hand reached up to push a lock of blue hair out of her eyes. Aree's joke made her giggle, easing her worries. Wouldn't it be funny if her date didn't show up in photos, like a vampire. Well, at least she didn't sparkle. The bluenette leaned into Aree, posing as she was instructed. Her question made her lips twitch up in a smile, but then she remembered the last dogpile that Zac was under, during the rescue mission. That night had been horrible, and she had seen things she wouldn't forget anytime soon.

She couldn't let it ruin her life though and so she did her best to let that night go and laugh. "I don't think it will take that much," She smiled as the photo was snapped and then they were ushered away to enjoy the prom.

Absently she stroked the hand that was on her forearm, not realizing that she was petting Aree the way she would pet a puppy or a kitten. "So, would you like to eat, or we could dance?" She felt a little like a cruise director, but she didn't mind. It was fun. Violet eyes glanced from the dance floor to the buffet and punch bowl that the kids seemed to be crowding around (moreso the punch bowl than the buffet). The allure of alcohol seemed to be strong.

Ah. Senri glimpsed Ariel as she arrived, remembering his previous interaction with her. He might have expected her here, after all, she was certainly of age. "Good evening," Senri responded to Ariel, giving her a smile. "How are you faring? Good, I hope?" Ariel had been nothing but pleasant and Senri could see no reason to treat her otherwise.

"Have you tried the drinks yet?" Senri said, not bothering to hide his amused grin. He had no doubt that the brown-hair girl on the dance floor was under the influence of alcohol. No matter, it made things only more fun.

"By the way, did I mention that you look cute?" The navy blue dress accentuated Ariel's colors, and the translucent material on the side of the dress only glittered amist the golden scenery.

Bo was so swept up in the rhythm and flow of the music that he almost missed the announcement that he had made the Court for Prom. "I'm a royal!" he shouted, pumping one fist into the air. If he hadn't have been so damn forgetful, he would have cast his own vote, but Bo had a hard time making decisions. Chance would have been that he would just vote for Serenade in both categories, since she was the only true royal he knew. It was still fun to fancy himself some sort of princely type -- and the boy did love crowns.

In the celebration, Bo turned suddenly and caught sight of a familiar girl standing a few feet away. It was Adira. He'd asked her to prom, just like he had asked so many, but she had said no -- a few of them had, really. As much as Bo loved letting things roll off his shoulders, this hadn't. Adira had said no, but she had come to prom anyway. It wouldn't keep him from her side.

Waving a brief adieu to Tabitha, Bo crossed the danced floor and came up beside Adira. "You look absolutely beautiful," he said. He had never been a good one about respecting personal space, especially not with someone's who space he had invaded before. One hand reached out to touch at the skirt of her white dress. "Like a bride, almost." His hand released the fabric. "They just nominated me for Prom King, how funny. If you had been hear earlier, I could've put you in for Queen. We'd make a wonderful couple for it."

Turning to face her, Bo slid both hands over her hips and attempted to pull her in toward him. He assumed it would be fine. He always assumed everything would be fine.

***

By the time the Court had been announced, Fallon was drunk. She had wine before, but never hard liquor. Whatever concoction had been dumped into the punch by some clever Hillworth boy had done its worst with Fallon. She leaned in close toward Eilian, planting a kiss every so often on her neck or lips. It was incredibly uncharacteristic. In her mind, Fallon believed that no one knew about her and Eilian -- out of their civilian friends, that was most certainly true. If anyone had not be sure before, they were now.

When the announcer took to the stage to announce the Court, Fallon laughed loudly -- a strange, foreign sound coming out of such a reserved frame. "I have more balls than all of them, Eilian. ALL of them." She draped one arm around Eilian. "Eilian, I don't really feel much like myself -- would you like to dance?" This seemed like a recipe for disaster.
