Fenrir watched Mehime's reaction with care, "I believe I asked you before to simply call me Fenrir and I'm not so busy that I cannot pay you any heed." He smiled, then "watched" her emotions. She felt for him in a way that only one other had, but the other had treated it as a passing fancy. Fenrir caught brief flashes of things she wanted to do.. it startled him somewhat, considering she might know what he is.

He partially let go of his careful courtesy and swept Menhime off her feet, carrying her bridal style to the bedroom she'd claimed. "Yes, I believe there are a few details I've failed to tell you about," he spoke as he walked and laid her down on the bed. Once he'd sat down next to her, he continued, "I'm quite sure that you've discovered that I'm not one of the living. I'm flesh and blood, but not human. I haven't been human for two hundred years, Menhime." A terrible sadness wrecked havoc on his eyes as he remembered the fateful day he'd been captured, then the following years he spent in that cursed castle.

Fenrir sat there for a moment, trying to absorb Menhime's little outburst. He was astounded, to say the least. She didn't seem to care that he had murdered innocents as well as the guilty before; she didn't care that he was methusela. The words from a human in a book rang clearly in his mind, 'So a vampire can cry.' Anne Rice had been quite correct in what she had typed next. 'Once. Maybe twice in his eternity.' The unspoken truth was that if they let themselves feel as a human might, the methusela would be torn asunder by those emotions. Without understanding why, he fell forward until his head rested on Menhime's shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her and said so quietly that only she could hear, "Thank you." Fenrir found his past an easier burden as he cried silently on her shoulder.

A shaky sigh escaped from Fenrir as he regained his composure somewhat, "Always..? I'm not sure you know what you're promising, dear princess." Two centuries had almost been too much of eternity and he wasn't sure he had the stamina for it anymore. After a moment, he snickered, "What's this about pirates?" Fenrir had no idea why, but he found the idea amusing.

((Yeah.. I was watching Interview with the Vampire when I posted it. The lines just fit for the emotion I was going for. The whole "I'm flesh and blood, but not human" was one of Louis de Pointe du Lac's quotes from the movie as well. And if you read the books, there's a character named Fenrir in Interview with the Vampire. lolz Look up Queen of the Damned. ^_^" The Angel of Darkness, Anne Rice, was my idol until she had the christian revelation. Then, she stopped writing the Vampire Chronicles and her new books turned to crap. stare No, I haven't heard from him, either.... and I get the feeling that this rant was longer than my actual post. lol))

Ferreto stepped back a bit to sniff Duke again then climbed onto his head so he could get a better view of the room. He was beginning to wonder what had happened to the other creature that Duke had been so happy to see. He jumped off of Duke's head then jumped down off the bed, sniffing the carpet then lifting his head up so he could look at the door. Hesitantly he crawled to the door and once again pressed his nose underneath the door, trying to get a whiff of the scents outside it. But once Ferret pulled his nose from the bottom of the door he suddenly began to grow, his long furry body shortened some and soon took the shape of a boy then the hair the covered his skin shrunk into his skin and all that was left of the hair was what was on his head. "Huh?"He said as he looked around, wide eyed. "W-what happened? Everything got smaller?" The hair upon Ferreto's head began to get lighter and turned into a golden yellow color that even got longer and gently brushed against two brown fuzzy ears.
