Beth read through the book and looked at her next skill. Finally, something offensive. Beth began focusing her ki into the water, then swung her hand at the shore. 5 needles of hardened water shot at the shore, piercing the sand and melting back into water. [1/1]

Before Conner stepped onto the sand, he took off his shoes and socks. From far away, he could see Beth at the water, she had her headphones off so calling out to her was out of the question. His book of Muay Thai was in his hands as he watched the girl practice her style that the gene-X gave her. He ran up to her and tapped lightly on her shoulder from behind and put on a slight grin.

"Sights and Sounds" Beth felt a tap on her shoulder and jumped a bit from surprise. She turned around and saw Conner, and put on a big smile, "HEY! watch this!" She moved her hands over the water, and a large orb of water floated up above their heads, she began to laugh at how cool her power was. "How awesome is -" she was cut off when the orb popped and water splashed down on her head. "-this..." she continued, still laughing.

"Sights and Sounds" Beth began to calm down, and replied to Conner, "Really? That sucks, but hey, get it over ASAP, it gets well rough after you take it. I went blind for a bit." as she spoke, her words came out in a fast jumble, still full of excitement.

Conner still wasn't too sure about the Gene-X, but then suddenly a small boy ran up to him with a giant syringe in his hand and suddenly injected Conner with the drug. Almost immediately, his body stiffened up and he fell onto the warm sands. His body was like a figurine. "Beth...help..."

Conner smirked weakly, "Help me up, please." But then his temperture began to rise dramatically to an astonishing 103 degrees. If Beth felt his head, her cool hands would instantly feel warmth. "Wow...I'm getting..." But he was cut off when Nausea kicked in.

"Sights and Sounds" Beth felt Conner, his body was burning up, fast. She thought that at this rate, he'd burn her skin if she kept touching him. Quickly, she rushed over and grabbed her towel. She ran back over to Conner and wrapped him in the towel. She motioned her hand at the water and moved a large blob over and dropped it on Conner. Beth pulled him up in the drentched towel to an upward sitting position. managed. "Now what? Should I take you to the nurse?" she said, her nervousness was obvious in her voice.

Suddenly, the stiffness left his body, but he was left with the intense fever and the nausea. It was good tat he was already sitting up, it made things easier for him. He put on his usual smile, "Thanks Beth, I hope this won't happen frequently."
