Toni stayed behind Emi, keeping himself between her and the bird. Thank goodness for adrenaline and his desire to live and keep Emi safe. On a normal day he wouldn't have been able to run this much. Maybe he should start running every day. Work up stamina or some crap like that. That was, if he lived to see the end of today. He risked a glance behind them then looked forward again. "Keep going!" Hopefully the bird would lose interest in moving prey and go back to the already dead deer.

Emi noticed a hole up ahead and hurled herself into it before plummiting down onto a rapidly moving body of water."wow the river goes underground!!!" she yelled so Toni wouldn't worry and hopefully follow. "Toni in here quick!" she said keeping her feet grounded."before The current takes me!" the water was quite fast and the current strong enough to take her, she wanted it to but not alone. she saw a large peice of driftwood big enough for 2 foxes to sit on and held it back."let him land on this!"shge grinned.

Toni's breath hitched as Emi disappeared into a hole. He dug his paws into the ground, skidding so he could stop at the edge and make sure Emi was alright. He only breathed again once he heard Emi talking down there. Without thinking, Toni followed her in, feeling the wind as one of the bird's wings missed him. He looked around them, struggling to keep footing. "Well this is one way to get rid of a problem." But was this the start of another problem? Where did the water go? How far would it take it? Or would it drown them?

Emi griined and looked at the drift wood "cmon before the ride leaves without us!!!" she said motioning for toni to climb on the log. "were takin this log down stream..."she stated."its better then being up there with king pigeon.." she jumped up and dragged him ton with her as the log began to float down the river.

Toni clung to the log as it floated. "I think anything would be better than being with that feathered monster." Of course, floating down the river was near the top of his list too. Not that Toni was afraid of water. He just didn't think one should be floating down a stream, much less on a log.

Emi placed her paw on the lof as ir drifted down the underground stream. her tail wrapped around Tonis waist."wonder how long this thing goes for."she laughed lightly."and when we reach the end where will we be."
where ever it was Emi hoped that there weret fox eating birds or people who would be mean to them."how about whereever we go as long as theirs land and its not a desert island we live there."

Toni smiled and wrapped his own tail around Emi, at least, as much of it as he could. The females had the advantage of longer tails. But it looked better on them. Toni would take his thick fluffy tail over anything else, especially since Emi thought he was a good pillow.
He looked ahead of them. "We'll find out won't we. And I could care less where it is as long as I'm with you." He turned his head and looked at Emi. "Yes, anywhere is fine with me. As long as its not totally isolated but not encroaching on anyone else either," he said with a laugh. "We could live in a land that has ice all year long. Or maybe the scorching heat. Though I must say, we might want to stay away from where we just were."

Emi smiled."yeah away from giant birds that want to have emi steaks and toni burgers....the toni burgers are mine."she grinned Nomming on him playfully after the last part of her sentence after a while though she saw light."ok time for the big reveal where the heck are we!?" she was kind of estatic to find where she would be living with Toni.

Toni laughed. "Burgers and steaks huh? Sounds like a pretty nice dish." He shifted closer to Emi as the light grew brighter. He closed his eyes against the harshness of it. Blinking rapidly he opened them again to see grass everywhere, blowing in the wind. He started kicking the log towards the shore, where he hopped up. The grass was tall enough to come to his chest. He turned around several times, taking in the view. Flat, grassy plain area it seemed, with the water tunnel they came out of leading to a pond or small lake, he couldn't tell what. Trees dotted the shoreline. Toni looked at Emi. "So? This the perfect spot?"

Emi looked at Toni."perfect place to have a load of children running around like maniacs. I love it, and I dont see anything dangerous around either."her head darted from side to side."definitely no giant birds. or bears or alligators, the water looks clean and Im sure we can find food somewhere over here." she jumped off the log when it reached the shore and shook off."lets stay here!"

Toni looked at Emi in mock horror. "A load? That many really?" He paused. "Does a load even have a number?" He nodded. "We could always make rounds to make sure that no predators are moving into the area as well." He smiled at Emi's enthusiasm and happiness. "I told you, anywhere you are is where I'm going to be too." He moved closer to Emi. "And I mean it. If you want to stay here, here is where I'll stay."

Emi smiled."I at least wanna have 60 children" she looked at him walking around his body."why? Do you not want children?" she asked walking off to go look around the area. the trees were plentiful, and the area seemed to thrive with life. there was obviously a river so water wouldnt be a problem, and there seemed to be fish. this place was perfect.
"only downside is Im not gonna see volt as much." she smiled

Toni followed Emi. "Of course I would love to have kids. But 60? You have names for them all?" Toni would have a hard time keeping up with 60 kids that was for sure. He raised his face to the sky, letting the sunlight that was streaking through the trees hit it. "Seems like paradise."
He frowned and looked at Emi. "Surely we could invite him over yes? Make time for family getogethers. Sure, you won't see as much of him; but its not like you aren't going to see him ever again."

Emi nodded."right... we can always have the entire family come together!" she laughed at his statement about children though. 60 too many? how bout 12? 12 seems reasonable!"Emi wanted to have a big family the more of her there was the better. and with toni in this personal paradise she intended to make that dream real.at least to an extent. "c'mon lets go look for a place we can stay Im gettin tired."

Toni nodded. "12 I think we could handle." Another laugh. "If Voltaire has the same idea of how many kits he should have with his mate as you do about us, no doubt there will be a huge family gathering." Toni looked around, shaking his head. "Time for nap 2 of 5 I take it then?" He chuckled, remembering Emi's joke about her naps earlier; before the giant bird came to attack them.
Hm...where to rest though. In the plains would work. But until they knew for sure if there was no danger it wouldn't do to be out in the open. The trees? Sure. Would include some shade. Toni wasn't sure if there would be caves around here though. Didn't seem like it. He slowed as he noticed a large tree, with large roots poking out of the ground. He walked over to look at it more. He smiled as he saw some of the roots intertwined to make a cave of some sorts. "Emi! How's this?"
