Taking the bouquet into her arms, Hisoka watched as he attended to the single flower that she had decapitated. She had not seen this side of him and a small feeling of guilt stung at the back of her mind for having killed the flower.
"Well..." she began but stopped, pausing for a few moments, "Poppies are actually nice flowers..."
She trailed off and looked to the bouquet in her arms and turned around, walking wordlessly towards her desk. She was wondering what his real purpose was here, surely it wasn't just to 'congratulate' her. Knowing him, there were ulterior motives... lots of them.

Hito Takeyoshi

After Hito heard what she had said, he looked up in shock. "You really think so?" He then looked back down at the flower and smiled. It was a weird feeling actually, a second before she was almost disgusted at the poppies, but then confessed that she didn't mind them, or rather that she liked the type of flower. Hito stood back up, the flower's head still in the palms of his hands. He was aware that she had walked across the room to her desk but didn't dare to look. He was more fascinated of the flower than anything, feeling that this single flower symbolized himself. It was actually pretty sad that Hito compared himself to something so fragile, but it couldn't have been helped. "It's a nice office." He said in the middle of the silence, in some way trying to draw up some sort of conversation between the two and make it less awkward than it already is.

Clearing her throat as she sat down, Hisoka left the bouquet delicately down on her desk in front of her and motioned for him to take a seat. "Less chit chat about my office, although the compliment is much appreciated, it took me ages to add my own touch to the existing office..." she was mainly speaking of the small laboratory - torture chamber that was hidden behind one of the walls.

"Anyways.. what is your real purpose here Hito-san?" she quizzed, pushing a small glass of water in his direction. She had cut the stem at an angle, it had never been her intention to let the flower die. "Has Kage sent you? Or Squad 3's Captain who's name we shall not speak of in this office because I will not be liable for the things that will be done if it passes one's lips..." she spoke in a monotone, drawing out her words to make it seem as boring and business-like a speech as possible, and to still keep the same death-promising glare that she always seemed to take up around Hito.

Even though the warning was clear and she would probably end up kicking him out for saying Tokemaru's name. He was stubborn and egoistic that way, always picking on what she said and finding some way to make her life more uncomfortable than it already was.

Akira walked up to his captain's office when he saw that the door was already open and stood in the door way and listened to their conversation for a little bit "He's probably here to bother and annoy you Captain in other words his normal pathetic routine" he said to his captain while looking coldly to Hito

"Very well." Hito said as Hisoka spoke. He looked at the glass of water and at first thought it was a drink offered to him to drink from, but after closely feeling the flower head, there was still a bit of the stem remaining and in a slant. He carefully placed the flower into the water, trying to make sure it didn't tip over within the water. It had seemed that Hisoka had a soft spot after all. "Oh?" Hito was interested in the fact that she disliked Tokemaru as well. They had been old friends from Squad 1, and although they were originally very different, they seemed to hope the same pride that was taught from that squad. Regardless, Hito originally wanted this meeting to be a more peaceful one, well.. originally of course. At this point with the interruption of Akira, a shinigami that holds quite a bit of a grudge against Hito, as well as Hisoka's usual attitude, it wasn't looking up. "No one sent me. I came on my own free will, and that was to see how you were doing." Hito began pacing the office, looking all around and recording the images into his memory, like what he normally did in new areas. He then looked over to Akira and smirked. He was still the arrogant shinigami he had always been, he was also still at the same strength that he had always been. Perhaps Akira had hit his plateau. "Yes, I must admit, as you should already know, I am very wary when it comes to the Arrancar within the ranks of the Seireitei. I am not exactly sure of your motives, and it doesn't make sense that long enemies can just become friends within a couple decades. But despite that, you are apart of the Seireitei now, and you haven't shown any form of threat to daily life here, and I have no reason to think you would.. So I'm here to see how you are doing and possibly get to know you more." He finished this with a smile. He also knew that she would find this to be an insult as she hated when he attempted to get close. She was a "lone panther." Someone without a heart, or so she had explained to him previously. However, even with this, Hito didn't really buy it. He kept trying to pry deeper in hopes to find her true nature, whether that be good or destructive.

Being so in tune with each and every aspect of her Arrancar powers had allowed the cold-hearted woman, or so some would refer to her as, to sense out her Officer with the reiatsu detecting technique known as 'Pesquisa'. When he spoke, it was no surprise to her that his words were a reflection of her thoughts, well.. the Hito being here to annoy and bother her part at least.

"Akira," she snapped, her gaze moving from the green haired Hito to settle warningly on her Officer, "Regardless of how annoying this man can be, is and always will be, when he is in my squad, especially in my office, he will be treated with the same respect shown unto others. Nothing more. Nothing less."

Turning her attention back to Hito, she listened as he spoke, cutting across him, "And why exactly is it that you, of all people, would come to check up on me? Hmm?"

As she listened to the rest of his speech, she gripped the edge of her desk tightly, her already pale knuckles turning even whiter with the pressure. Suddenly, she stood up and placed her hands down on the table, leaning across it, towards Hito, her face as dark as thunderclouds. "Don't you dare..." she snarled, her voice a mere whisper that only he could her the complete and utter venom in it, "I am NOT a part of the Seireitei, I reside within it because of that .. that thing in Squad 3, I was kicked out of Hueco Mundo and look at me now! My former rank counts for nothing, my home is beyond my return, I live in agony watching as my prey.. these weaklings, weaklings like you, run around well within my grasp and yet I am forbidden to kill, to do what is natural and instinctive of me. Disgusting, treacherous Shinigami," she spat, leaning back, having missed out entirely on the sweetness at the end of his little explanation.

Turning her back to both Hito and Akira, Hisoka stared blankly at the wall, boring holes into it with the pure rage in her eyes.

Hito sighed. He expected that this would happen once again, which brought the same questions back to Hito, "Why is she even here then.." There was no point in asking this again, she had no place else to go it would seem, her only options were to die in the ruins of Hueco Mundo or live with her enemies, always on guard. For her to blame someone else over her own actions was also quite foolish, almost as foolish as to call him and his fellow shinigami captains weak. Hito let this fact go though... Instead he placed his hands on her desk and leaned in close so that he'd be whispering into her ear. "Your alone... you've been alone for all this time... You don't have to let me in, but at least allow those who deserve it to be accepted by you. You don't have to be alone anymore." Hito finished and stepped back, only to look at the bouquet of flowers that were set down at the desk. The camellias were indeed beautiful, especially surrounded by the other flowers. Hito sighed once more before walking towards the door. He expected Hisoka to throw a fuse any second now.

Sensing the shifting reiatsu in the air, Hisoka prepared herself for some kind of shouting match to begin between Hito and herself. She was alert for any movements that would be hostile in nature, but even at this stage a Zanpakuto drawn across her neck woul have been a welcome event.

It was all of this anticipation and building up of tension, even more so by having turned her back to him, that made the hairs on the back of her neck and down her arms stand on end as he whispered to her. His voice was a lot different than before, he wasn't poking fun, he wasn't trying to start anything, just pointing out what she knew all along herself. In truth, she had tried to learn to accept the Shinigami, in fact she believed herself to be on good enough terms with Squad 4's Captain. It was because the woman experienced the same sorrow of loneliness, perhaps even more so than Hisoka herself did as she had loved and lost.

"I can't..." the Captain whispered, a stinging sensation in her eyes like a thousand bee stings blurring her vision. Her voice was barely audible, even to Hito but it was cracking, she didn't notice how uncomposed it was as her thoughts were on his words that had, in truth, cut to the very bone. Out of some natural born instinct, she brought her hands up to her face and covered her eyes, two drops of liquid slipping down her cheeks. One dropped off onto the floor, the right one clung to the feline lower jaw mask that she had.

Hito could hear a faint voice from behind as he reached the door. He stops and stands still, straining his ears to see if he could hear what he had missed before. After a few seconds he heard a single drop of water hit the ground. He turned his head sharply to look at the single poppy flower in the glass, but it seemed to be fine. Hito then turned his gaze towards Hisoka, who was hunched over in her chair. Hito clenched his fists tightly and leaned forward. What am I doing.. He thought to himself as he rushed over to her side. She was definitely crying. Hito wasn't sure what had happened, but what he said about her loneliness had gotten to her. The cold, icy demeanor of Hisoka had melted away, at least for this single moment, and revealed a woman who just wanted to be accepted, a lonely girl that wanted to be loved. It wasn't really Hito's place to be there, but he too had once felt this way before. He too shut the world out and drove his own path, only to find it to be an empty one. He wasn't sure why, but yet again he found himself wrapping his arms around her, and this time drawing her close to him. He didn't care if she stabbed him in the chest for this, but he wanted her to know first hand that these 'shinigami dogs' were there for her when she needed them. "You can do anything you want..." He whispered to her, slowly rubbing her back as he started to comfort her.

Sobbing bitterly, Hisoka tried to hold her breath to stop the tears from coming and the stupid gasps that arose from her chest but she was failing so far. It wasn't until she felt two arms around her, wrapping comfortingly like some kind of safe cage. It had been so long since she'd had that feeling, the last time was when she had been practically passed out from her spar with Tokemaru and fallen into the waters she'd previously frozen solid. She'd felt the same way in his arms but would never admit how good it felt to just be held, to know that she was cared about. Whether it was her life -as it was in Tokemaru's case- or her just her exposed loneliness -as it was in this case- she felt somewhat happy with knowing that there was at least someone who cared.

"I...t..t..t-t-t-thought you we...r..r...re...gone," she said, sniffing as she kept her hands covering her face, out of a mixture of embarrassment and shame. She didn't like anyone seeing her like this, least of all her Officer or a man who she hated with all her might. She couldn't get her head around why he was hugging her or why he had come back.

Hito smirked to her response to him holding her. It was different, and somewhat cute, but definitely different. "Of course I wouldn't leave... not when someone I care for needs me." Hito blurted out without really thinking. When he heard the words, he started to think to himself, about why he said such a thing. He disliked hollows, but maybe that was because he didn't give them a chance. Or maybe neither side gave either one a chance, it was all black and white to them. Hito looked down at Hisoka as she kept her face hidden in her hands and buried within his grasp. He didn't mind though, if he saw her face now, he would always remember it, and he didn't want to see her face in such away, he would rather see it smiling. "You know... being apart of the Seireitei isn't so bad. We tend to goof off more than we should, and tend to get into primitive spars all the time, but in the end we are all something like a family. We look out for each other. If you want... we could add you to it? Only if you want to of course." He kept one his hand moving along her back, constantly rubbing slowly.

The angry, pained sobs seemed ceaseless as Hisoka just sat there. The rubbing sensation on her back was strange and unusually comforting. She could only hear small sections of his voice, her mind too unsettled to have picked up what he said first, "I am an Espada," she whimpered, her thought process brought down to the level of a sad, lonely child, "I can..n.n.n-not be accept-t-ted.. I don't wa..a.a.ant to be.. n.nn.not by my enemies. I don't wan't to gi..gi.i.i.ive in..." she bawled into her hands, her voice sounding more hollow as that side of her nature began to take over since she was acting so weak.

She took a few deep breaths and took her hands from her face, hunching over more and folding her hands in her lap. Her tear streaked face and puffy red eyes just stared at Hito's chest, sorting through the conversation like she were moving in slow motion, her thoughts lethargic and too scattered to make sense. "Wh..." she began, questions suddenly sparking her brain back into life as she picked out something, "Why...didn't...you leave?" she asked, her eyes widening as she imagined that she heard that he cared about her.

Although she had no feelings for Hito, or for any other man in that matter, she was shocked, to say the least. How could he possibly 'care' for an enemy? For her? There was no way that he could be serious and as for liking her in any other way he was insane, the incident at the hot springs had been her warning to him. Her aspect of death was Loneliness, and as such if anyone got close to her that she would lose them, like she had all of the hollows who she'd tried to befriend previous to her coming to the Seireitei, even before her being an Espada. She'd been lonely since being a small hollow terrorising the world of the living.

Hito listened contently as Hisoka spoke. Her voice seemed to change, and she continued to spout out the fact that she could not belong in the Seireitei, that they were still enemies. There were truths in her words, or at least to a rational thinker such as Hito, but even he wanted to pin her down and tell her that wasn't true, not anymore. But then she said something that made Hito think some more. 'Why didn't you leave?' she asked. This was a question even he didn't quite understand. He was going to leave, but then instinctively chose not to. His body seemed to react on its own, which didn't make sense because it would normally react in a more defensive way, or at least around her and any other hollow. Yet, he reacted in the complete opposite way, and was now comforting the sobbing girl. The more that he thought about the question, the less he could think of an answer with at least some rationality to, all his answers were based off of pure emotions and instinct. However, he did figure out something to say, at the very least. "Why didn't I leave? Why would I leave? There's no place that I'd rather be than right here." Hito kept rubbing her back none the less.

Coughing into her hand, the woman closed her eyes and, for a single moment, forgot where she was. All of her obligations, her rules, her barriers, her worries melted away so that nothing remained but just that moment. It brought her back to days of being in a crib where that maternal instinct that came over all new mothers had seemed to cover her in a warm, celestial glow. She heard the voices of a past beyond her past in Hueco Mundo and saw that light, that comforting, caressing, innocent light quench. Darkness flooded her small cot as the sound of a man's hobnail boots clanked on the 16th Century floorboards, casting his shadow over her small body. Rough hands plucked her from her rest, clamped around her neck in a vicegrip... it was the beginning of her darkened and icy life. Never again to feel a warm, loving embrace.

"I can think of many places that I'd rather be..." she sniffed, using his kimono as a tissue to blot her tears with. "Anywhere besides here," she said, her lower lip quivering as she spoke, not believing that she was making a complete show of herself in front of the man who she despised and who she knew hated her equally as much. "It wasn't complicated until every damned dog in this place took a liking to picking on me. Even that Squad 12 Captain has renounced his true nature and taken on a relationship with a Vizard. Of all the things he could have done, he chooses a stinking vizard... please just kill me now and end this suffering. I hate Tokemaru because he wouldn't grant that one request. Please..." she snivelled, just longing for something greater than the mess she'd become. She now felt completely purposeless in the world. Not even a Captaincy could cure the feeling. Her sombre tone was a lot more composed by the end of her little rant, she knew that Hito would more than likely jump at the opportunity to plunge one of his Zanpakuto into her back or kill her as he pleased.

Akira just stood there in the door way looking at his Captain then walked to the other side of hisoka and put a hand on her shoulder "I don't want you to die not when I've finally found someone that I can call a friend, not when I found someone that can take away my loneliness"
