"The only ones dead in the whole world? I kinda doubt that. I mean... there's no one.. uh.. normal.. here," he explained with a frown, "Don't you think there'd be a lot of other people that weren't on that island here with us?"
It at least was strange to yII. Maybe it was just him who felt that way, however. Leaning back in the couch, he was at least able to appreciate being able to relax a little while dead. Without the whole 'I'm going to die' factor out of the way, he had a little less to worry about.
"For all I know, you and the whole island in general was just a figment of my imagination. Imagination doesn't really get people killed though I think."
Letting out a sigh, he tilted his head back and looked up towards the ceiling. Being dead would probably suck a lot less if he could remember who he was.

"Ah, you mean that, of course," It was hard to judge how exactly Beta Seven was feeling at the moment, seeing how the gas mask provided her with the perfect poker face, and her tone hadn't changed despite the 'slip-up'. Shifting her position a little to make herself even more comfortable (hey, she was gonna be here a while anyway), she shrugged, "Our memories had been wiped, we've seen giant flaming horses, been teleported away via text, attempted murder, seen the dead return to life... All in a short 2 days. Nothing really surprise me anymore."
She paused, laughing dryly as she grinned behind her mask, "In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this is like purgatory reserved specially for people like us. Trapped on an island for a week without memory of who we were. Heh, I wonder if we'll still get the answers to our questions at the end of this..." For a moment, she almost sounded wistful, although that soon vanished as she continued, "Either way, its not like we have a choice. Just have to deal with this whole being dead thing."
She knew she wasn't able to just 'deal with it' though, deep inside. Especially not after what happened just now. Those raw emotions... She was sure everyone in the room felt the same way.
"Maybe you're not dead, you old man with cancer," She scooted over, closer to him, as she lowered her voice, leaning in; it was probably the gas mask equivalent of whispering into another person's ear, "Maybe people - maybe I - can still kill you."

Listening to bVII, he crossed his arms and frowned. A special purgatory set aside for their lot. He supposed that was possible considering all the insanity that had gone on. But just 'dealing with it' wouldn't be easy. There were still so many things left unanswered. The short time spent alive on the island was hardly life fulfilling too for that matter.
"I am not an old man," yII said unhappily while turning to face her. His eyes narrowed at what she had to say now, but he remained where he was. He didn't like her tone, nor did he care for the wording.
"If you think you can still kill me, you're free to try. Who's to say you won't be the one that ends up dead then?"
They had no weapons as far as he was aware of, but that didn't stop them from breaking out into a fist fight if it really came down to it.

"Oh? But you sure sound like one," She laughed as he looked over at her, amused by his tone and how he was taking her teasing. He was definitely more interesting than- Ugh, no. Don't think about the Betas she had left behind. They were merely acquaintances. Leaning against the back of the couch before raising a hand, she patted Gamma 2 on the top of his head while staring at the ceiling, "You sure you're not 60 years old under that mask?"
What he said next, however, only caused her to laugh again.
"Nah," She simply said, crossing one leg over the other as she shrugged, "I would be bored if you left... In fact, I wonder what happened to the one who went missing after that." It was a question posed to everyone in the room.
"And I wonder if more people will be joining us soon... Heh, its going to get crowded in here."

"You don't hear me complaining about aching joints do you?" he said while giving her a sideways glance.. not that she or anyone else could see that expression. yII wasn't angry at her, but he was a little irritated. There was something about the age thing that stood out to him. He really had no clue how old he was, but he was fairly certain he was no 60 year old man. Though he tried to figure out what was it that stood out, he couldn't put his finger on it. Oh well.
At the mention of the one that had disappeared, he lightened up some. It was a good question. They had just seemed to vanish without so much of a trace. What was a little concerning was what was going on when they did disappear. He had a feeling the whole intense hatred and wanting revenge had something to do with it...
"Maybe she turned into a... oh crap what's that called... you know. The dead person coming back to mess things up or something," he started but he was having a hard time remembering the terminology at the moment. Maybe the others would get what he was trying to say there.
"I don't doubt more will be coming soon though. I mean... there's eight of us here, and only thirteen are to survive. There's still a lot of people left on that island."

"Maybe they took away the aching joints when they took away your memory," She informed him, rather enjoying his reaction. Her group never gave her this much satisfaction, although... She mentally slapped herself to stop that train of thought; she was gone now and she can never go back to them. She can't win this game anymore. Ugh, how frustrating, in more ways than one...
"Like... A zombie?" She raised an eye brow, considering the possibility before shrugging, "A zombie intent on revenge? That's the emotion you guys felt too, isn't it? Revenge, hate..." She was sure that was not a nightmare, since judging from everyone's expression, she was not the only one who saw the thick black smoke consuming everyone, in the form of claws and fangs and other equally monstrous forms...
"Whoo, party in purgatory," She stated in a deadpan voice, rolling her eyes as she placed both arms behind her head, "About 90 left on the island, 80 of those have to die in the next 5 days... At least, pretty sure this is only day 2. Can't really tell how much time had already passed, heh..."

Deciding not to answer the aching joints thing, yII tilted his head at the zombie bit. It was close.. but that wasn't quite the term he was looking for.
"Sorta. But I guess that still works in this case. But yeah... I started feeling regret... but that got turned into pure hatred. I wanted to go back and.. 'make things right' or something like that," he mumbled, "I.. I mean I could be wrong. But that person disappearing right after feeling like that? That's kinda a weird coincidence I think."
Letting out a sigh, he leaned back onto the couch again, frowning at that thought. He was trying hard not to worry about the people he left behind on the island. Given the circumstances, they'll most likely join him soon. He hoped that wouldn't be the case but the odds were against them.
"Yeah.. no clocks or anything. Though if this is a party, I hope there'd be more than just the drinks we can't... actually have," he said while glancing towards the bar filled with various poisons.

"I'm guessing we sit here and wait for what comes next E12. What exactly can we do here, nothing. We can't run away. We can't hide. We just sit here and watch whomever is in control play their little games with us. Plus, unless that missing girl you guys are talking about comes back we won't know what they did to her, if she can ever remember what they did...:"
E8 shook his head at the thoughts running through his head. At least when the group was alive they could run away when needed, or fight at one moving weapon. But here, he doubted that would be the case. There was no running away. There was no fighting, at least from what he could tell anyway.
Chuckling, he tried to his best to push the negativity aside and at least seem positive.
"Doesn't matter though, right? Dead or alive we are still a team and will try to keep sticking together, right? We'll make it through this, one way or another."

"Heh, we have a lot to regret, don't we, old man?" She said it like he was the only one with those feelings, but she had no intention of letting anyone know that she had regrets too... Regrets concerning a bunch of people who she had considered as strangers just a day (or maybe it was 2 days) ago. That would be utterly pathetic of her, especially since she had been teasing those people for their 'lack of balls'.
"I doubt we'll find out what exactly happened to the one who vanished. At least, not any time soon," Beta Seven continued, straightening her legs to stretch them. Her gaze moved from the ceiling to E-8 and it stayed there for a while.
"Wow, how positive," She stated simply, rolling her eyes behind her gas mask, "Together in death. Very sweet."

Looking over at the guy with Epsilon VIII etched onto his mask, yII nodded grimly. He had a point there for sure. There really wasn't much they could do while they were here for their judgement or whatever it was purgatory people awaited in general.
"Well it's better than being alone and dead," He added while looking back at bVII. It would suck more if there weren't anyone around to at least keep company. As for regret, while he barely knew the other gammas, they were all he really had at the time. He wasn't sure why but he felt compelled to try and keep them safe. Maybe it was because if they died, he'd be on his own.. which didn't seem all that pleasant.
"It's too bad there isn't at least a dart board in here.." he commented as he gazed around the room.

Like at the very beginning of this whole experience, E-4 wondered how people were recovering so quickly. She was probably just weak, but the poor girl was shaking like a leaf caught up in a wind storm. She had sat up, pulled her legs in, and clutched her head in her hands, pressing her back against one of the couches. She found what had just happened to be absolutely terrifying, if not the fact that they had been transforming into something, the feelings of hatred had been overwhelming and disturbing in their own right.
She was faintly aware of two voices chatting around her, but it wasn't until she heard a familiar chuckle that she looked up. Her eyes fell on E-8, and the corners off her lips couldn't help but twitch upwards at his words.
"T-that would be nice," she agreed, grimacing at the slight stutter. Clearing her voice, she continued, "And yeah, it's a lot better that we're not alone in here." She nodded at yII's words, before letting out a small laugh of her own at the dartboard comment. "Well, if Thirteen--our comrade who might just have two pendants right now-- shows up in here, you guys can all help me beat him up." Her voice was only half teasing. E-4 would be seriously upset if, after everything that had happened, E-13 had gone and gotten himself killed.

Though he couldn't see B7's face didn't mean he couldn't take a wild guess in the dark when it come to her facial actions. Scuffing, he just crossed his arms and allowed himself to relax a little.
"Just because you may not be able to give a rat's a** about your own team doesn't mean the rest of us are that way. I may have my own goals with this whole test of survival, but that doesn't mean I haven't learn to care for those on my team and don't have everyone's best interest in mind. Yeah, it sucks that 4 of us had to go, and we would have loved to all have a chance live at the end, but the way I see it is the 4 of us died to one could live and have a chance to make sure the rest of the team can live to the end."
Heh, maybe he was a little too attached to his time, but whatever. He had grown to like each member for one reason or another. They had his back and he had theirs. They made him laugh and “cared” enough to slap him whenever he tried to do something idiotic. They were a team, and acted like one. Yeah, some may have had hidden motives, but at least they didn’t break out and go wild at the first sight of the pendant. “Plus, at the other guy said, it is better than being alone and dead. At least with a team on your side you don’t feel so alone. Plus, you have someone to look forward to seeing if you die and someone died before you.”
E13. He wondered if the guy really was alright at this point. With two pendants under his belt he would be a prime target for not only other teams, but anyone whom may have thoughts of backstabbing within their own team. He could only hope that whatever bond they formed over the last two days would be enough to hold any ideas back. But who was he kidding. Greed was a strong and killer form of human nature, especially when it came to survival. As long as E13 wasn't here with the rest of them then he would keep thinking things were alright, at least for the moment.
"Ha! Come on now Four, do you really think the guy would need a second beat down after being jumped down in the living world? At least give the guy time to rest."

"Misery loves company, I'd drink to that, but this mask ain't coming off," She tapped her gas mask, grinning under it as she turned her head to look at Gamma 2, "But I'm alll up for a simple game or two to pass the time..."
She then looked at E-4, pushing herself off the back of the couch so that she was leaning forward instead, with her arms on her knees, "That guy - E-13 - has incredible luck, surviving at the last minute when everyone else died. I doubt you have to worry much... He was smart too - going only after all of us had taken that first step? We marked a safe path out for him... Heh."
Such interesting characters in this room...
Her gaze shifted to E-8 yet again, and she paused. She wanted to argue that she had been thinking of her comrades too, against her will really, but decided against it. Unlike them, she didn't feel a need to flaunt her morals... Or lack there of. Let them think what they want of her.
"I'm sure everyone wants their team to live," She corrected her with a wave of her hand, flopping back to lean against the back of the couch again, "Maybe that's why they put 12 to 13 members in each team. Its a cruel game, wouldn't you agree? If you're so attached to your team on day 2, think of the mental scars those poor sods will have by the end of day 7, when most of their teammates had been killed."
Yes, she was kind to warn her teammates to not grow attached to each other... She firmly believed that even if others disagree and speak of 'attachment' and 'getting each other through'.

As three others spoke, yII looked back and forth at them all. One was for certain, eXIII was definitely a lucky man. Though, he no doubt would have a large target placed on his head right about now due to being in possession of two pendants. Then again, maybe no one knew he had the things right now. He had to wonder what he would do with the extra pendant too.
Shaking his head to himself, he looked between bVII and eVIII as they spoke of their teams and caring. Valid points were made on both ends. He tried to tell himself that he shouldn't get too attached for the very reasons the beta girl had mentioned. It was hard for him to not do so when he felt like he needed other people around him. As eVIII said, he didn't feel alone with his teammates around.
"This game in general is a cruel one. It was one from the very start when we all woke up with absolutely no memory of who we are and pitting against one another in order to survive."
With a sigh, he paused and thought it over some more.
"I do hope the ones I left behind can make it through.. but it isn't very likely. We'll at least be here to greet them when they come on by."

"Fine, I'll beat him up after he gets some rest." She sincerely hoped that B7 was right though. Or at least, while she agreed that E-13 was a pretty smart guy, he was at a huge disadvantage now that some of the team was gone.
And speaking of teams..."It really is a terrible game," E-4 agreed softly, "And honestly, it's kind of hard not to get attached to other people. Like with you, Boss, though I wouldn't quite say I'm attached to you." She glanced at B7 and pointed at her, "When we first met, I didn't know anything about you, and I didn't want to know anything about you. But after talking to you for a bit, I'm definitely a hell of a lot more hesitant to go after you. Not that I wouldn't try if I had to." The last part was added with a small laugh, though it didn't sound like a very happy laugh. It sounded more strained than anything.
It was very easy to attack others so long as you made an effort to dehumanize them. You just had to pretend that they were a wave of enemies--like in a video game--that you had to get through before you could reach the next level. But once you realized they were walking, talking, and living humans beings? Well, that was a different story.
E-4 looked to yII when he spoke, and she nodded slowly. "Yeah. I just...I don't understand why we're all here. Are we going to stuck here for the rest of our liv--uh, deaths? Why haven't we 'moved on', or whatever it is dead people are supposed to do?"
