"Oh, well, The School I go to offers this program for students who want to register with the league and start working with Pokemon. Its useful for a lot of students who start late, it helps teach them about pokemon, Its a big help in getting the ones interested in battles and training ready for Gym challenges once we graduate and want to go to Johto or Kanto." She explained "I graduate this year..."

Tilting her head down again, glancing to her side where her pokemon sat, blue eyes watching the balls for a short time, before she slid her gaze back over to him.
"I hope I do anyway."

Luke hummed a sound vaguely akin to being impressed. "Sounds useful." He would have liked to receive such instruction. Maybe. "You planning to do the gym thing, then? Like the contests, he had seen League tournaments broadcasted on television from time to time. He had never payed particularly close attention to the matches, but his memories easily substituted Rosie for the now anonymous figures he had seen on the screen however long ago. "You'd probably do well." His comment was unfounded on any logic, but he did not see himself as giving an arbitrary compliment. This was evidenced in his straightforward gaze, the usual airs of forced indifference for once missing from his demeanor.

"I don't really know what I want to do." Rosie answered in a distant tone, looking a little lost in thought as she pondered this question.
"I used to like the idea of preforming with my pokemon, and doing contests. But lately, I don't know if that's the best choice."

For most of her life she had been so sure of herself, and what she wanted to do, she wasn't used to doubt.
But there was a feeling in her heart, telling her that she was going to rethink a lot of things about her life, if it was going to involve Pokemon anyway...

His vote of confidence was not at all missed by the trainer, catching the difference in his tone when he said she would do well.
She knew that he hadn't even seen what kind of Pokemon she used, and knowing how poorly she had done in those Pokemon battle before... again the female Rocket, how badly her Pokemon had been beaten down...
but this still rose her spirits, and got her wondering... what if she really could do well, would it be worth aiming for?

Her lips parted slightly, not saying anything for a while as she seemed to take in what he said, before she smiled kindly at him, with a hint of forlorn behind her features.

"Would you like to meet my team?" she asked Luke, but also gave a smile and glance to Mieu.

"If you give up what you want, they win," Luke said, punctuating his thoughts with a bite from the crust of the pizza. "Team Rocket, I mean. Once you've let them hold you back, that's when you really lose." He didn't think it was particularly sagely insight, and so he largely dismissed his own comments.

He took her quiet response as meaning he'd said something stupid, and so he redirected his attention to the glass of water at his side with an inaudible grumble. Whatever. He'd been saying embarrassing stuff all day; he was surprised all the cheese didn't get to her sooner.

"Huh?" Team? Oh, pokemon team. "Sure." He'd be lying if he said he wasn't curious at all, though the majority of his curiosity might have been borne of a want to compare them to his own Flareon. Mieu, oblivious to his master's thoughts, returned the smile with a quiet "faa?" He was curious as well, in a far more innocent sense.

"I mostly just wonder... I could keep doing contests, I could leave Kodo, but wouldn't that be like trying to hide from them?"
It was all so complicating.. how to deal with this, how to take the next step.
Most important, how was she going to protect her pokemon... this was the second time now they've tried to take Vany'n.
"A lot has been going through my mind the last week, I think I just need to sort them out. Being able to make people happy through performance would be so wonderful."

When he gave a quick approval, Rosie reached down as she spoke, and picked up a couple of the ball from the ribbon.
two in each hand, two love ball and two heal ball, unable to fit the Luxury ball into her grasp.

With a toss upward, the four pokemon were released.
"These are my pokemon" she told him happily, gesturing to a Pikachu that now sat on the table in front of her, while her hand reached down for the luxury ball
The lightly colored mouse pokemon with heart shaped cheeks shook herself out and perked her ears up, blinking over at Luke with deep blue eyes.
"This is Kiss Kiss." She said.

From next to her, leaning over the railing next to their booth, standing outside a Meganium reached her head in toward Rosie, the young trainer hugging the meganium "This here is my Hattie"

The pink and white Pidgeot, who seemed to have two rose gold clips on his wings seemed more interested in the human that was sitting by their trainer.
The bird stood next to his seat, and leaned in slightly to peer at him, his expression politely amused.

He watched the ice shift in his glass with a thoughtful expression. "Is that what you want to do?" he asked at length. "...I wanted to leave home. I guess what I'm doing is running away and hiding, but I'm not here because I'm afraid of my parents. I'm here because I want to be here." Maybe it wasn't perfectly relatable, maybe it wasn't even vaguely similar, but it was what he felt he needed to say. "I think what's most important is not regretting anything. Do what makes you happy, screw what anyone else thinks, and regret nothing along the way." A distinctly mischievous smirk accompanied his words, expressing a certain pride in his own actions as they coincided with the advice he gave.

Luke blinked back at the Pikachu as it appeared on the table, unsure of proper form in greeting a pokemon, if they even needed to be greeted. His hesitance was resolved when Rosie introduced the Meganium, pulling his attention thence. He nodded in response to the names, shortly thereafter noting the large pink bird looming beside him. He instinctively leaned away from it and, feeling slightly more obligated to offer a greeting to this than any of the other pokemon, offered a mildly startled, "Uh... Hi?"

Mieu took much more of an interest in the foreign pokemon, leaning forward to stare out at the nearest of the group, the Pikachu on the table. He'd seen other pokemon before, but he had become accustomed to them after years of exposure. The Pikachu was a new experience. "Fieuu?"

With her arms still wrapped around her Meganium 's neck, Rosie watched Luke as he expressed his thoughts, and his point of view on this topic.
face, half burried against Hattie's cheek, she glanced down before she smiled with a small blush on her cheeks, nodding in agreement.
"Your right Luke. completely right, I've been letting this fear try and shy me away."
Looking up at the Maganium, who had been watching this strange boy while he talked, but turned her head back over to look at Rosie with a happy smile. Glad to see her girl's mood back up! its been to long.

Kiss Kiss was sitting and smiling at Luke when the boy looked over at her. but as her gaze turned she caught sight of another Pokemon at the table!
"Pika!" perking up happily, Kiss kiss pounces over the table surface to stop in front of the Flareon, holding a little paw up in greeting "Chaaa~"

"Jot!" The Pidgeot cawed sharply in a return greeting, opening a long wing up.

Looking down at the Luxery ball cupped in her hand, Rosie watched it for a long moment, before she lifted her head to look at him.
"Do you get along with your parents, Luke?"
PostPosted: Tue Apr 05, 2011 8:43 pm

Luke had no means of knowing how Rosie had been behaving up to that point, but he was at least glad to see that his words had some positive effect. His own grin became more mild in response, more innate and sincere. It wasn't frequently that he showed such an expression, and were aware of it, he would have immediately substituted it for a defensive frown. Fortunately, his own lack of awareness dissolved the need for such a mixed message.

Mieu was thrilled to have the Pikachu's full attention and leaned further forward to more closely study the electric-type. Scrutinize her though he did, the Flareon kept arrived at his decision of her character seemingly regardless of whatever signals he noted: friendly, happy, and fun! He smiled brightly at Kiss Kiss, returning her greeting with an excited "faaa!"

The Pidgeot's curt, amiable reply eased Luke's nerves a bit, and he took his concentration away from the towering bird and returned it to his human company. Her question, however, brought a frown to his face, a mixture of uncertainty, contemplation, and bitterness evident in the simple gesture.

"It's kind of... complicated? I mean, I didn't really get to see them a whole lot, unless they had something important to say..." He rested an elbow on the table and place his chin in his palm, thinking over his response. "I guess I don't really get along with them. I can't really say I hate them, though..." It wasn't something he had ever given any serious thought, and calling up an answer on the spot was proving troublesome.

Rosie watched him carefully when he spoke about his patently, her brow furrowing... a little sad with the answer. Didn't see his parents a lot? that alone sounded so... horrible to her.
"Are they really busy all the time, is that why you don't see them?" She asked.
From his style and the quality of pokemon he had, she could assume he was from a family with money, and sometimes that means that mommy and daddy were off working a lot.
As she spoke, one of the hands in her lap moved over to cup a small Togepi that seemed to be cowering next to her, not taking her blue eyes off of Luke.

Kiss Kiss, pleased with the greeting she got in return, let out a high, pleased "Chaaa" and hopped forward again to nuzzle one of her cheeks to Mieu's cheek.

Perdy, having folded his wings back tightly to his side, seemed to be listening to Luke's summer about his parents relationship.tilting his head, with a couple light clicks of his beak.

"Well, I was always told they were busy," he said with a light scoff. "Never by them directly, though. Guess they were too busy to explain why they didn't have any time." He couldn't really resent them for that, though. Luke understood the positions they held weren't ones that left them with a great deal of time, especially not for a son who was old enough to be considered an adult in his own right. "Seems like the only thing they ever had time to talk about was bad news."

Her motion led Luke's eyes to the Togepi, and he raised an eyebrow at the thing. What was it so scared about? Had he hurt anyone or anything? He breathed a mildly frustrated sigh; thinking about his parents invariably led to thinking about his home and the conditions that had driven him away, leaving him in an increasingly bitter mood. Reading the Togepi's fearful behavior as resulting from his presence did nothing to improve this mood.

Mieu, though initially startled by the sudden contact, smiled broadly with a happy "fieu!" and leaned into the electric-type's nuzzle. The impression was set: Pikachu were fun!

“I understand,” she said sympathetically “It’s hard when they aren’t around,”
She wasn’t sure what all she should say, this tended to be a touchy subject with people, and the fact that he left home to be away from them said quite a lot about how he felt toward them.

“Well, if it means anything I’m glad you made the decision to come, and in the future, I bet your parents will have more time to do more positive things with you.”
No one wanted to dislike their parents, having a mother, a father, a family in your life was the kind of love everyone deserved to have.
“It’ll be great!" She spoke this with no trace of doubt in her voice.

Following the glance down to where the Togepi was huddled, her smile fadded a little, following by a soft “Oh.”
Quietly, shifting her hands to place one over the half hiding pokemon.
“Her name is Valani… she’s really shy” She explained, trying to give the little pokemon an encouraging smile.
Rosie didn’t push the introduction though, just letting the Pokemon stay by her, while Rosie kept a gentle hand on her.

She could tell this wasn't an easy chose of topic for him, from his sigh, and his body language, she couldn't blame him really.
"I'm sorry if I brought up something that you don't really want to think about right now, I mean, you did just get here."
He probably just wanted to forget for a while, and just enjoy his vacation.
She took one of the pieces of Piza that didn't have any of the spicy toppings on it and offered it to Valani.
"We can talk about something different."

Kiss Kiss was happy to have the affection returned to her, huddles happily into the plume of fur around the Flareon. But she pulled away, to plop down onto the table, tail twitching happily behind her.

His frown gained a bit more prominence. It was harder being kept in that house all the time, but that was a thread of thought that would only lead to anger, and so he cut it before it unraveled too far.

"Maybe," he responded half-heartedly. Lacking though he was in enthusiasm, however, it was difficult not to inherit a bit of that optimism. For a fleeting moment, Luke couldn't help but believe her words.

As it was introduced, he regarded the Togepi with a mixture of curiosity and distaste. Shy translated as fearful, and fearful translated as weak, and weak pokemon were useless. He kept this thought to himself, though, and merely hummed in acknowledgment of the normal-type. The thing didn't look like it would appreciate him addressing it anyway.

He waved his hand at Rosie's apology, dismissing it casually. "It's no big deal." Or rather, he wasn't going to let her think he was some sniveling child who broke down into an emotional mess when faced with unpleasant thoughts. A change in subject, nonetheless, was a prospect he rather enjoyed, and he offered the switch, "So what about you? You said you live here?" He wasn't especially interested, but it seemed like a polite direction to proceed in.

Mieu stood in the seat, leaning against the table with his paws on the surface for support. He beamed at the compliment, "" or simply didn't care, perhaps, "" It was fun being unique, after all!

"Yup" She answered, proudly "I've lived here in this city all my life, I live with my uncle and my cousins over to the east a little more." She said gesturing in that direction.
"Though, we're staying at that hotel for a bit, while the house gets some repairs done." Her smile grew a little weak, but it remained up.
she remembered that she had told him she was staying at the hotel, she saw how the information she gave him might be contradictory, so she figured she would go ahead and explain.

Kiss leaned forward again, touching her nose to Mieu's
She asked, looking over at Luke, with perked ears.

"Mm, that so?" It was hard to feign interest where there was none. "Why's that?" He split his attention between the conversation and the crust of one of the remaining pieces of pizza, picking it apart and tossing it casually to his mouth. Green eyes lifted to meet his company's gaze as he did so.

Mieu made a sound akin to a giggle for a Flareon, maintaining his bright disposition. He turned to Luke as the Pikachu did, nodding in assertion, "" He wasn't quite accustomed to the term 'trainer,' having rarely if ever done any 'training' in the boy's company since many years prior. This scarcely kept the pride from his intonations, though; his master was a good person, even if he was sort of mean sometimes.

"Mmmm..." She hummed, a little embarrassed, reaching a hand up to play with a strand of her hair awkwardly.
"Someone set it on fire." She paused after he said this, blinking a couple of times before glancing down with a small, awkward smile. "Gosh, I don't meant to do this... I promise this isn't the normal around here, Its just been an interesting month."

That wasn't a fun story at all either, thinking about Sorano worried her, she hoped he was okay, and she wanted to see him again, talk to him.
Waving a hand again, trying to brush past the negativity "Well, anyway, if your done, we can get the rest to go in a box," She added, hurriedly. Before she looked over to get the waitresses attention.

Kiss Kiss looked back over to Mieu,
Kiss Kiss certainly appreciated pretty people and pokemon. Just all around attractiveness made her happy.
