Amrita reached out a shaking hand to pat Christof on the head. Headpats always made her feel better, and the poor Igor looked like he could use it. The shaking...was probably from a left over fear of him, but she was trembling anyway, so that was easily passed off. Still, being close and touching him was a start!
She'd get over being afraid of him one day.
"Umm...W-welcome home!" She said to Christof then, trying to be good about it. She was sure the trip was horrible, simply horrible (especially since people died wtj)...but he was home now, and that's all that mattered, right?
-----------------------------------------
Mac wasn't going to admit to Lizzy that he too had died. There was no way he'd do it willingly. He kept her in the crushing hug for a while, but it loosened considerably when she hugged him back. The other pink haired nuisance was brought up, and Mac shook his head.
"Hey, 'Tro!" Mac called after him. "Thanks, man. For before." It was hard to admit, but the Tikbalang did help him after he watched his friends literally suffer the same fate.
"I don't know." He murmured unhappily to Lizzy's question about Charlie, the relief flooding from his face, leaving him considerably paler. Black eyed glanced up at the Tikbalang's already retreating form; what, did he say something wrong? Oh...was it because he was hugging Lizzy? Well, he'd just have to get over it. The Demoness still made him grumble, but he liked antagonizing her, so he was happy she survived.
Before he could go on about Charlie, he found himself getting hugged by a stranger; something that made him tense up uncomfortably. Thanks to Tess, he released Lizzy and set to distangling the Undead from him (HOLY JACK she was strong for only having half a body wait why did she only have half a body where did the other half go what?!).

She would have to see what up's with Petro later. Was she too harsh on the boil...? They had just survived something horrific, after all. She frowned as he moved away before burying her For now, her priorities lie with Charlie, Sepheran and Livi... And apparently, a sobbing Tess.
"I'm glad too," She giggled, pulling Tess closer - which was not helping the whole 'Mac trying to get free from Tess' thing. When Mac let go of her, she turned around and wrapped her arms around the ghoul's shoulders, running her fingers through her long hair, "We will have to celebrate by getting you a DS, yes?" One more thing off her list of regrets? Great. An excuse to spend more time with her friend? Fantastic!
"I-Is that so...?" She frowned, spinning Tess around so that she was looking up at Mac. She noticed his expression, and felt - well - moved that he cared so much about the boil, "Well, he's Charlie... He'll be fine... Don't worry! Besides, I still owe him a pizza party!" She smiled, reached for his hand, paused, and then decided to settle for patting his arm instead; of course, she was trying to reassure herself as well.
After all, aside from Charlie, Sepheran was still MIA...

Arachne wasn't sure what to say to Sin; and the waiting was getting her edgy again. She gave the ghoul a squeeze on the arm, murmuring that she would be back and slipped over to Lizzy again.
'Sepheran is taking a while to show up.' she said, quietly looking at the others with Lizzy and nodding at Mac.
'Good to see you again.'

It was getting hard to see from all the students crowding the area. Poor Damien had to start bouncing on his toes to get a better view around. Oh look, red hair and fox ears, targets found. The grin on his face was plastered on instantly, feeling much better about the whole experience, at least to the point where he could forget about it for at least a little bit longer. "Hey! Over here!" the hellhound screamed out, arms flailing over the heads of the other students before he worked his way over to the two of them.
"It good to see that you survived the ordeal, you two." He told the grumpy duo, not knowing of whatever trials they went through after his demise.
falling, falling....
No, he wouldn't think of that right now, this was not a sad occasion. Damien had to shake the memories out of his head before facing them again. "So, I guess y'all didn't see Savior or Aurian yet either?" He was sure they would be here soon enough, but you never could be completely sure, hopefully it wouldn't mess with the marrowstripes head. "The teachers rescued us?" he asked in a moment of shock.

Christof hugged him. Barth felt relieved. That, at least, was a response he expected.
Still, even in all his relief, he understood, but hadn't forgotten what had happened while they were alone in the cornfield. And how many times that metal pipe had slammed down just short of his skull.
Christof leaned away to cry and stare unhappily at Riley.
Barth just dropped backwards onto the grass. Calder passed by, looking depressed, but alive. Barth had never been good at resisting sleep, but his nerves were wound up from trying to keep him alive for so long. He still had the drippy first aid kit in one claw.
He realized he hadn't eaten in months, and what he would really like was something out of his own refrigerator. Wrong branch of the family, he thought. ...He had some calls to make.
"Christof," he said immediately, "I need-" oh. No, not that either. "err, sorry."
With great difficulty, he took his eyephone out of his jacket pocket and selected Claire from the contacts list himself.

As the group that had initially devoured her began to clump off and greet others who came through the portal, Riley was left with an unnatural sense of anxiety. She could hear Astra bawling at her feet, and bent down to scoop the fairy up in her arms. Her hand cradled the back of Astra's head, resting it on her shoulder. The poor thing was broken - and who could blame her? Even Sarias, as hard as she tried to remain callous and cold, seemed affected. Riley's glare was penetrating, resting on her just long enough for her to know the favor was returned.
She felt the all too warm arms of her best friend wrap around her and Astra, and swiveled in Jericho's embrace. A heavy, choked breath left her, before she buried her face into Jericho's chest. It was here that the tears refused to remain silent, but there was too much noise around them for it to matter. She wrapped her free hand around Jericho, and hugged him tight.
Riley gripped Astra tighter as Sheridan's roar filled the air, bringing her attention to the dragon. As Jericho pulled away, Riley moved to pull Sheridan into the hug as well. My sentiments exactly. She whispered to Sheridan in amusement.
Still. As good as it felt to be alive, and to see the others alive, something was missing.
Riley pulled away from Sheridan and looked down at her hand. She flipped it back, and forth, contemplating it sadly. At first, it felt empty. But now, it brought back a memory. A terrible one.
Being reminded of the feel of two hands pressed against her own as the life leeched away from all three of them, made Riley look up for Jericho again. He was bent down in front of someone, helping them up. She tilted her head, trying to get a look behind those massive wings to see who he was with.
But deep down, she already knew.
Jericho turned, smiling at her weakly as he gestured in her direction. Beside him, Riley saw something so beautiful, it made her heart stop.
She set Astra down on her feet, giving the ghoul one last squeeze, but her eyes remained on that one thing. That one, precious thing, standing there waiting for her to come back. She did not leave it waiting long.
Her gait was slow, but it only took a few steps before she stood standing an inch from Malodore. It was so difficult to see it, her eyes kept blurring in tears. She brushed them away angrily as they tried to deny her from what she wanted to see.
Yet, something was still so wrong. She felt a foreign fear racing through her veins, clamping her arms down and refusing to let them reach out to hold Malodore. It was as if she wasn't quite sure this was real, and she didn't want to be proven wrong.
She needed this to be real.
Hold me. Right now. Riley's coarse, broken whisper reached out to it, begging. Make me believe we're really here.

The second pat to his head and Christof looked up from his knees, his features still flushed with emotion as he watched the way Amrita had trembled, Gingerly he reached out to touch her hand gently, brows raised in a desperate attempt to silently communicate how he was feeling.
Despite everything, she was concerned for him, and that was enough to touch his battered, stitched heart.
Those thoughts were cut short by the sound of his Master's voice- 'I need...' Immediately his head snapped over towards Barth so quickly it nearly toppled from it's precarious perch on his neck, but he took his functional hand away from the ghoul's to steady it, expression contorting into a frantic, desperate plea. Yes? Yes, Master? His breathing quickened, desperate to redeem himself but...
The 'never mind' hit his gut like a ton of stones.
Even Barth didn't need him anymore. He sagged once again, looking ready to fall to pieces right then and there.

Malodore half-stepped, half-stumbled forward, from Jericho to Riley, and wrapped its arms around her, hugging her to it so tightly that it heard its ribs creak in protest. It didn't matter - nor did it matter that it stank of old bandages and undead rot, or that it still had sand under its mask. In lieu of the traditional kiss it would never be able to manage, the plague doctor instead bumped her cheek with its beak, trying to be gentle but failing a bit out of sheer desperation and need.
... It had never imagined needing her, needing anyone like this.
"Ti amo," it whispered, its tail curling around both their legs.

It was time to go home finally. What felt like an eternity in hell had come to nothing but a frightfully sad ending for Bul. He survived, so what? Part of him wished that reaper took all their heads. They didn't even get to avenge their fallen comrades it was all just a disgraceful loss. Or was it?
Stepping through the final portal Bul took a deep sigh. It was a sigh of relief but also sadness... school would never EVER be the same. With him he still had his pipe and knapsack... but it was very likely he would burn the objects later. In fact, he would probably rally any of the remaining survivors to do so as well.
However, the half beast returned to the school and looked around to see that... there were faces he remembered from BEFORE the dark cave devouring them all. "What's going..." he paused.
Did this mean... that his friends were here? How could that be possible? How could they be returned unscathed... yet he saw them all fall into the chasm and felt their blood spilled on his own skin! Then he began to appear panicked. A lump returned to his throat before but this wasn't of nausea. Butterflies floated about in his stomach as he searched around through the crowd of students- passed the other survivors and their revived friends.
"SEIJI?! MEI??" he shouted above the group. "ARE YOU GUYS HERE??!"

Barth tried not to think about his Contracts. They were expired. He'd have to wait for something else to fall into his lap. He forwarded the message to Claire and his Mom. The message was very short.
And with a great deal of thought and gravity, a second message, to an entirely different number on his Contacts list.
He stared at the message, thumb hovering over the send button.
...He deleted it instead. Head down. Slow and steady. Live to hide another day. He was, for now, content to slink back to his dorm, re-cooperate, and wait for the situation to resolve itself on its own.
As soon as he got up. Which he would. Eventually.

One moment there was nothing but the torment of being dead and alone in his death, the next there was everything. Rosc suddenly couldn't see, but he could feel again. He was solid, there was ground beneath his feet, he could hear other students would him. Hell, he could even feel his usual aches and pains and he was glad for it. Physical pain meant he was alive. But the internal pain had not gone away. Not yet.
His vision flicked on and he scanned the crowd of students, seeing everyone and yet ignoring every single one of them. He was only looking for one person. There were so many things he hadn't done, and now that he was back there was no way he was letting that happen again.
His sight fell on a familiar form, wearing something of his, the ghoul who had tried to get between them walking away from her. He didn't hate Arachne, he sort of understood where she had come from. She was a demoness and had liked him. But that didn't mean he had to give her any sort of trust, that he had to talk to her. He wouldn't do anything to try and hurt her, not with the intent to do so at least.
Rosciel didn't say a word. He just strode quickly through the crowd, placed his hands on Sin's shoulders and spun her in his arms to face him. His fingers wanted to dig into her arms, but he couldn't hurt her. He could never hurt her. All he wanted to do then was kiss her and nothing was stopping him from doing so.
Before she had a chance to react, he kissed her. It wasn't a quick little kiss in the dark amid apologies, it wasn't a kiss on her cheek or forehead or hand. It was desperate, full of as many questions as there were answers. He should have asked her first, should have given her a choice of whether or not she wanted him to kiss her at all, especially among the throng of students. They hadn't been very public prior to now. They sat next to one another, held hands or he carried her among her friends, had shared a dance with her at the demon party, he had bid on her for the Scarentine's dance, but no one had really seen anything. No one knew about them, not really. Well, they could probably guess now. Rosc could care less.

"Ha!" West let out an impressive snort. "Al'they did was opennup the ceilin'an' complain," he groused. He hadn't even really understood what they had been going on about beyond... "They said th'trip'd been educational." He shrugged.
"Wha'happened t'you after y'fell?" he asked, trying not to sound like he was too interested. Oh, but he was. How could he not be with the sheer amount of pained relief on everyone's faces around here? ...And the kissing. West resisted the urge to shake the younger boil and scream at Demi to spill.

Holly grinned and shrugged at West. "Well I died... then brought back so you know, normal stuff." Seriously didn't he see the part where she fell down that hole? She scoffed in agreement with how most were acting. Sure she was glad to not be dead, double dead that it, but to cry over it? Didn't sound like a lot happened to them then. "Really the teachers?" At least it was all over. "I, uh. Well. More fog down that hole. Well, er I didn't have a body anymore." Not different from normal but couldn't reform, she didn't like that. "There were all these kids standing in the fog, like halloween kids. It was weird." Really weird. Holly nodded and would just look for the other ghoul later.
Her ears twitched at another familiar voice. Oh the other boil from the group and waved slightly to Damien. "Ya, same to you, with the not being dead part." She shook her head. "Haven't seen either of them."

A sound that felt dangerously like a whimper escaped her mind when the very real feeling of Malodore's arms wrapped around her body. Her eyes winced closed, and she exhaled a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. This was real. Everything they had suffered, even their fateful end, none of it was as real as this moment. This was all that mattered now. She felt the bump of it's beak against her face, and a startling sob left her suddenly, as she reached both hands up to cup it's face in the palms of her hands. Her own face pressed fiercely against Malodore's beak, her head moving just slightly as she affectionately nuzzled against it.
Her eyes blinked open when she heard those words, whispered like a soft caress into her mind. A flood of memories brushed past her; all the different badly timed moments during this entire trip when one had expressed their love to another. Mind-altering substances, hallucinations, they all got in the way - but not this time.
Not this time.
Malodore. She whispered, as she felt the world slowly, piece by piece, fall into place once more. I love you, too.

Unknowing of what had happened, Mei awoke to a large amount of students. "What..?" How.. How the heck was she back in Halloween Town? She fell! Was this all some kind of sick joke? Glancing about the faces, she hadn't spotted any familiar ones yet. They.. They were here, right? They had to be. If this wasn't a dream, or a cruel trick, and she had made it back---then they should have definitely made it back! She wouldn't accept anything said otherwise.
Looking over her body for the previous injuries received, she would be thankful if this was reality. The worst of the damage appeared to have been recovered; including the large crack in her leg which had prevented her from walking.
"SEIJI?! MEI?? ARE YOU GUYS HERE??!"
Was that? Was that Bul? "B-Bul?" She called out in return, struggling to stand to her feet. Was that really him? Staggering a little, she regained her footing, and began making her way through the crowd of students. "Over here!" She called, hoping for another reply back.
