The kick connected, causing Shanahan to groan in pain, but he didn't let go of the ropes!

Keeping the pressure on Shanahan, Shamrock goes for a push kick aimed right for the midsection.

Right as the kick came, Shanahan sprung into action, attempting to side step the kick. In doing so, he hoped Shamrock's leg would get caught up on the rope!

The kick pushes through where Shanahan was standing just a moment before as Shamrock's leg goes through the middle ropes.

Shanahan was ready to get back on the offensive, trying his best to ignore the pain Shamrock's kicks had delivered. As soon as Shamrock's leg was caught in the ropes, Matt went for a rough boot to the side of Greg's head!

Greg receives a boot to the face and falls at an awkward angle with his leg now tangled in the rope.

Matt was close to jumping down on Greg, until he noticed the leg. With a devilish smirk on his face, he attempted to put his foot on Shamrock's knee, and press it down against the rope!

Circulation is cut off to the leg of Shamrock as the Punk begins pushing down on the trapped knee. Shamrock struggles as the big man has his way, but his leg is stuck tight.

Shanahan began to put more pressure onto the leg, chuckling to himself at the sight of Shamrock struggling.
"C'mon, Mr. MMA! Can't do much without a limb, huh?"

Ignoring the stinging remarks, Shamrock attempts to catch the big man's leg and cling tightly, stalling all action until the referee steps in!

((... Oh yeah, I forgot that s**t ain't legal... sweatdrop ))
Shamrock was now on Matt's leg, as the referee finally ran over and demanded Shanahan get off of Shamrock's knee! Matt let go of the ropes and tried to be away, but Greg was still clinging on! Shanahan attemped to shake him off his leg, wanting the smaller man to let go.

Greg sticks to his gameplan, holding the big man's leg for dear life, sitting on his foot as Shanahan basically walks him around the ring like a parent playing with a child.

Matt was growing frustrated, and attempted to rain down some fists onto Greg. They weren't very powerful, considering Shanahan could barely hit Shamrock from his angle!

Shamrock eats the fists to the head but they didn't do much damage. What they did do was stir Greg into action as he attempts to pull out a kneebar takedown/submission with his grip on Shanahan's leg!
