“Aloli will make sure she visits don’t worry” She smiled and then her attitude dropped at the mention of the twins. If they thought they where going to get away with it. Oh she was going to get them back, it would take awhile but when she did it would be epic. She nibbled on her lip a bit wanting to tell Rush of course she would visit because she definitely had a young childhood friend crush and maybe more so of course she would go and visit. She promised that she wouldn’t bring up the whole mate thing again and just let things happen as they happened but that didn’t mean she didn’t like spending time with Rush. It was a bit different than when they where both kits but that was okay than her
“Aloli would like that very much, but hopefully she isn’t too close to her tribe at the time, she would hate for Rush to get interrogated by her dad, he would ask a lot of questions and then Rush’s head would explode and that would be bad” Aloli mocked sighed in disappointment and frustration. ‘wait a sec… did he just Purr?’ Aloli thought.

Rush nodded when she spoke, turning to look to the side before turning to her. It was night time, right? He had an idea! Quickly, he lightly nipped her ear, heading to the side. "Aloli, it's night time and we are by Lunarie. I would like to show you something a friend of mine recently discovered near us." With this, he headed off, limping as he did so. He turned to wait for her though, wagging his tail. He moved to paw away at weeds that would get in the way of her walking. His wounds ached as he forced himself to move for her sake, but, he didn't want her getting hurt!

Aloli titled her head to the side wondering what Rush wanted to show her. She nodded showing she would follow behind him however she wondered if this was such a good idea, he was still limping so she walked slowly in hopes he would slow down his pace again. However the weed clearing he was definitely getting smacked up side the head for. “Rush a bunch of weeds aren’t going to slow Aloli down, she’s not a girly girl you know. Now it would be rather bad if you killed your self over again protecting me from some weeds.” She stated lightly whacking him on the back of the head.

The whack made him groan, eyes flicking to stare at her. "I wasn't babying you. I just wanted to make it nice for you, not because I felt like you couldn't handle it. I just wanted to." With this he padded ahead, unsure that she'd understand that sentence or two. He didn't feel like she couldn't care for herself, he just enjoyed being the one to do simple kind things for her. He liked it. Usually just for her, too. He enjoyed doing these things for her and always would.
So, he headed forward to the woods, slipping through the maze and keeping with Aloli, his speed slightly growing slower. "It's not to far."

Aloli stopped and smiled at Rush before shaking her head. “I know you weren’t really babying me, and I do appreciate the sentiment I do, but I don’t want you to pull out and injure your self any more. I care about your wellbeing as you’re my dearest friend Rush, so you be careful too. It wouldn’t make me feel good if you open something up while caring for me” she replied in a sincere tone of voice. She understood her friend but he needed to understand his well being was important.
As he picked up the pace again Aloli followed behind still at her slightly slower speed. She was used to going at a fast pace as she had been trained to be a scout ever since she was little but she could tell even this was a bit fast for him. “alright, well just keep leading the way”

Rush smiled at the vixen, shaking his head. He pushed through brushes, moving through the brushes and appearing on the other side, turning to her and grinning.
What was before them were flowers to pale that the way the moon shined on them made them seem to glow. Soft and white, shaped like a half bloomed lily. He turned to her, smiling softly.
"Aren't they beautiful?"

Aloli watched them for a while as the lightly breeze blew them back and forth. Frey had always taught her that she should always stop and take a moment to admire the flowers or nature around her. Rushing through life was fine at times but one should always take time to notice the small things.
She turned towards Rush and smiled. “They are very beautiful indeed thank you for showing me them” she replied before leaning down to get a better look. She lightly touched one with her paw before seeing what else she could spot.

Her touch sent a wave of fireflies from their hiding spot, glittering about and inviting other fireflies out to flutter about. He smirked, standing beside her and looking at the moon fondly. "Mom used to take us here as kits." He murmured softly. "She's always been very close to the moon, and would come here to view it." He smiled, shaking his head. "We'd collect flowers from here whenever she was sad, and she'd always keep them until they wilted and smelled bad. Then, she'd bury the flowers or else the twins would feel like she was tossing them like trash and cry."
He looked over at Aloli, frowning slightly. "I meant to take you here as a kid, but you weren't around all the time."

Aloli giggled at the fireflies before turning her gaze back towards Rush as he explained his story about his mom. “Its hard to think of those two as little boys crying over flowers but then again everyone grows up in mysterious ways. Thank you for showing me some where very special to you. I would have tried to be there more but I guess my own family was trying to fix their problems. Plus its still mostly a clan instead of a tribe so dad needed to watch it.” It was true she had felt bad the days she couldn’t go off and play with Rush. Plus he grew up before her. Sure the tribe was fun but she and Aeolos where really the only kits there. Eshkol and Sindre where kits as well but they where always off doing their own thing.

He broke off a flower, turning to Aloli and handing it to her, yet another flower. It was his thing, giving her flowers. It was the best thing he could do to show he cared. Wait, was it? Once before he had met a fox that had told him to stop hiding. Stop fleeing. Yes, he didn't want to be like his father, but that didn't mean he had to push aside what he cared for, did it? Was it genetic? Would he just leave her? He didn't feel like he would! But he was scared, scared of hurting her. Scared of hurting anyone.
Though, who knew if she'd accept him even? He was just Rush, the sad little boy who was in a corner while his brothers played. Yet here he was, handing her a flower with a firm expression on his face. No. He wasn't like his father! He had stayed with his mother! Stayed with his tribe and brothers! Stayed with Aloli even! He wasn't like Rendo!
Before he could stop himself he had moved forward and kissed Aloli, a simple and almost natural thing to him, as if he was supposed to do that way before. As if that was what was always going to happen. With this his eyes narrowed, becoming mature and careful.
"Aloli, you said as kits you would be my mate when we grew up if I wanted, right?"

She was definitely getting quite the collection of flowers going. Well it was okay she actually liked flowers, it was one of the few girly things she liked and they where gifts from rush, not to mentioned she liked getting gifts from her important people it made her feel special. So she treasured each one. She could probably say the whole sentiment came from Farah’s silent dislike of her. They got along well some of the time but there was still the bitterness that Aloli was from the first batch of kits born to the tribe and with their mother’s lifemate. Then Farah had been trying for so long to have children with Altair.
She had gotten over the whole thing. Her father was extremely proud of her and loved her and her siblings as much as a male fox could. She wished Rush had meet him Frey would have totally shown him there where good fathers out there in the world. He was a bit silly but everyone still seemed to like him. He was honest to almost a fault if at times one discounted the times where he didn’t exactly tell you what he was thinking.
Suddenly she was drawn out of her thoughts by a kiss and the world seemed to stop for a while. Maybe it was an accident although for some odd reason that thought made her extremely sad. She wanted it to be on purpose but she new that even if it wasn’t she would always be Rush’s friend. However he looked serious about the whole thing and Aloli felt slightly tense and nervous she was sure her heart had taken residence in her throat.
“Aloli…. I did say that when we where little” She replied. It was a serious moment so talking in third person would just have to wait a while.

He spotted her nervous look, his own heart fluttering in his chest. He turned his head to look away, unsure what that meant. Unsure what her expression meant. Had he screwed up? Had he done the wrong thing? His shoulders lowered, as well as his head as he thought this. What had he done? He had ruined their friendship now! What if she didn't want anything to do with him now?
No... It was time to be a man and stand up for what he wanted. If she rejected him then fine, he understood. But she had yet to say anything other than agree to his statement. He turned back to her, lifting his head slightly.
"I like you." He stated firmly, careful to not let his voice waver. "I have for awhile." He added. "I know we were kits then, but I used to wonder if you meant it. Only recently did I realize that was a thing a kit would say because they didn't understand what they were saying." His tail moved, causing his accessories to jangle to break the silence.
"So this time I will say it, as an adult so now it's the truth." He looked at Aloli, ears slightly lowering, eyes slightly narrowing. What was he doing? What would she do?
"Aloli, would you be my mate?"

There was a small bit of tense silence, well at least to her as he looked at her after she finished her previous statement. She kept her face neutral and calm as thoughts ran amok inside her head. She watched as he turned his head away still waiting for him to explain why he had brought up that long go statement. It wasn’t as if it wasn’t true any more. Was he regretting brining it up again, or more was she more surprised that he had remembered the statement.
When she made it she understood what she was saying after all it was one of the things her father had taught her to understand from an earlier stage but even though it was true that’s what she felt she supposed that still there was a bit of childish feeling to it. She felt bad ever since then because at the time rush had felt uncomfortable. Did he still feel that way but If it was the case then why did he bring it up again. Plus he had kissed her.
She listened to what he had to say and then kept her face neutral only moving when she looked down at his new modifications. Slowly her face broke into a small smile, a perfect example of calm absolute happiness. It was exactly what she wanted to be asked for such a long time. She didn’t break out into happy glee because she was almost afraid that she was dreaming but if it was a dream she should be allowed to answer before it ended right. “Yes,… yes I would like to be very much” she replied.

He watched her silence, eyes glancing to the side. Fear touched his heart, rejection was close. He nearly choked on his fluttering heart. However, that was when she spoke and he turned to look at her, eyes widening.
"Really?" He whispered, unbelieving. She was going to be his.... his... mate? All his? Once again his heart lurched, however in that small excited way that hearts often acted. Quickly he flashed a weak smile, approaching her and brushing himself against her side, affectionately nuzzling her cheek.
This felt so right, hearing her say she'll be his mate. His best friend, who else would he choose? Someone who understood him, and he understood. Someone he trusted and laughed with, felt safe with. He would never let his fathers failures repeat in him. No. No! He'd protect Aloli~
His mate!

Well that was different from her dreaming, he never really looked surprised that she had said yes. Perhaps then she wasn’t after all she didn’t feel asleep. Yet the glee still stayed at bay, just in case everything crashed down. Oh like Aeolos and Frey murdering him on principle.
“Yep… really really” She smiled back stepping forward herself when he began walking towards her. She answered with her own nuzzle to his cheek this time letting out a small giggle. He really didn’t think she was going to say anything but yes. Then again boys minds tended to work in weird ways she noticed.
“And you don’t have to worry about running away because Aloli is a scout. So if she can tell the twins apart she can do crazy things like finding you… where ever you get to” she teased guessing a bit of his worry. “Although now we have a um more major concern… like the protective boys in Aloli’s family”
She betrayed her last comment by letting out a small giggle. Ah well what was life with out roadblocks?
