One of the stall doors creaked open, slowly, ominously. Only to reveal...Emily. "U...u....um...it's...ah...I'm sorry!" Flushing bright red, the small reaper quickly ran out of the room. A small bottle of half drunk Citri-Scare rolls to Tybalt's feet, obviously dropped in her hurry.

Whisper saw the girl emerge when she approached the bathroom, she gave Tybalt a questioning look. "Did I interrupt something?"

She gave a slight giggle and looked over the washroom. There wasn't anything special about it, other then the large hole. "What do you think that is...?"

As everyone shuffled into place into the elevator, the anxious hunchback reached to gingerly press the glowing button. That seemed to be the point, right? He liked pressing buttons. And flipping switches. It made things go, and he felt like he'd accomplished something.

Besides, it was a good way to show off in front of the ghouls.

results of stage 1
Anything of interest in the third level of the building was likely locked away, and so onward and downward to the second level! The slippery stairs, while difficult to maneuver, proved uneventful. But those who took the elevator arrived with a tremendous crash after the horrible, much too long journey. The adventurous souls who explored the hole in the bathroom wall ended up falling through the floor, and down into...a large vat of water?

Stairs: nothing
Elevator: the crash caused a loss of 1hp
Office: falling down to the 2nd level cost you 2hp
-did not choose: -3hp

stage 2

The second level is nothing like the third, no offices here. Now you can definitely see why this was referred to as a "lab." Consoles, broken and powerless, litter the floor and walls. Shattered glass tubes march in a row on one side, and at the center sits a large metal container labeled, "Transformation and Observation Chamber." A note is pinned to it's door. The entire level gives you an uneasy feeling, not quite like the fog. The fog is insanity this is...this is...

Compared to a lot places this area looks pretty tame, but a tense desperation like no other hangs in the air.

Your Choices:

Take the elevator!
On the other side of the room, you can see the doors to the first elevator have been forced open. Shining your flashlight down it reveals a metal ladder right beneath you. Shining your flashlight above tells you that the elevator is still very much above you in the shaft. Hopefully it'll stay there as you climb down to the first level. You do your best to ignore the creaking and groaning of metal above you.

Choose the chamber!
The chamber in the center of the floor has a "you don't want to know but can't help yourself" appeal. The lock on the door is broken, and not neatly either. Something tore into the metal with extreme force. Stepping into the chamber the feeling of desperation is a thick, heavy blanket of awful, weighing you down. The stains on the floor, the scratch marks on the wall, the only good thing about the chamber is the large, broken hole in its center. Peering down, it's dark but...wherever it leads has to better than this, right?

Tybalt almost died ( again ) from the shock of seeing Emily there. Regretting his choice of having broken the unwritten code and stepping into the ghoul's bathroom. It was like he barged in on her getting dressed or something; judging by the expression on her face. But before he could even get a word of apology in, she took off; dropping something that rolled up against his feet.

"I'M SORRY EMILY! IT'S NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE! I SWEAR!" He cried, but it was useless to apologize, she was gone. He embarrassed her to the point of running; disappearing off into the darkness.

Damn it... All he wanted to do was find a way off this island... Why did things have to get so complicated?

Giving a sigh, he ran his hand through his hair out of frustration when Whisper appeared again and offered her a shrug of defeat.

"Nothing except that I-I think I just walked in on Emily..." He answered meekly. "A-all I was doing was checking the rooms for ways out of here..." He added in his defense. Lot of good it would do him. He had shamed all women kind by stepping into a place where men were forbidden to go! How could such a crime be dismissed!?

Heaving another sigh, he reached down to pick up the item she had dropped; eying it suspiciously. Citri-Scare? Hmmm... Ren could probably use this a lot more than he could...

........

Hah!

Without a second thought, the black dog unscrewed the lid and downed the other half of the bottle. Completely out of spite and refusing to waste even one drop.

Satisfied and with that out of the way, Tybalt noticed that the bathroom was now completely empty, save for the two of them. He could also see the gaping hole in the wall in the stall that conveniently had no toilet for them to crawl over in order to pass through. An exit perhaps? Of course, Tybalt being Tybalt and never thinking things through decided to go and check it out. Unfortunately like all stupid ideas, this one ended badly and resulted in the black dog falling through the floor and landing down onto the second level with a splash.

Water..?

"Ugh... Watch yourself Whisper, I think we took a bad route... and I---OH COOL! THERE'S SOME SORT OF CHAMBER DOWN HERE!" He called up to her; rubbing his head that now throbbed thanks to the fall before he ran over towards the chamber.

As he arrived from the steps, Israfel cursed silently to himself. The slick metal almost making him lose his footing, but soon enough, the siren found himself at the second floor? From the looks of things, this was where something had been stored. Broken glass crunched underfoot and boots as he moved towards the center of the room. Until a splash cause him to jump, feathers poofing out and wings extending to their full, if rather unimpressive, length.
The voice he heard coming from the splash calmed him. he knew that voice. "Ty..Tybalt? Was that you?" Blue eyes tried to make out the other things in his surroundings. Wires, tubes. Jack, what had gone on here? Who had been doing what and why? His little siren mind didn't want to dwell on it. Following the shadow of the ghost dog, he didn't enter the chamber, but rather paused at it's entrance. Another note.

Pulling it from the door, Israfel scanned the smudges and the writings. It looked the the same script as the first note and the second. Had some left these in the hopes they would be found? Their contents gave Israfel no reassurance. Who ever they were, whoever this Dr. H was...they had been doing something. Something here and it involved the fog. Augh.
A tiny shiver ran down his spine. No, he certainly didn't like what he was reading. not on candlejacking bit. He added this note to the other, careful to keep them dry and free of damage.

Blue eyes flicked to the Ghost dog, "Tybalt..you..you're not going IN there are you?"

The boil that had fell down, some people pondered in the beginning if he was still alive? He was. A little painfully, but awake. He followed the crowd (when did the black grave get so crowded? Thankfully, they weren't zombies. At least, not all of them.)

His head was throbbing. A hand rubbed his sore temples.. something was giving him a gigantic headache. The atmosphere .. It was heavy. Almost like a five pound weight balancing on Vaith's head. His hand curled around the back of his nape, where his familiar manifested itself into his fear.. Thank god, the little guy hadn't been lost. If he'd been lost, Vaith wasn't sure if he might ever find his familiar.

Not on this island.

No way was he going to take the elevator.. and fall to another near-death experience. Vaith decided, the chamber was he way to go. Walking near Tybalt, past Israfel, Vaith sauntered in. He might not have been so happy about that decision, upon stepping inside. Scratch that, he was immediately regretting it. His headache-- every aching limb only worsened, according to Vaith's increasing frown, worse than his usual one. His grimace deepened, red eyes lidded.

How .. aggravating.

Tsetsiliya jumped at the sudden brush of fa hand against her arm, inhaling sharply, but to her relief it was just a fellow student - and Christof, at that! It had indeed been a long time since she had seen him! It looked like the island had not been too kind to him at all (the poor thing had lost his shirt), but then again, when had the island been kind to any of them. She gave him a small, timid smile of her own and a wave in reply, before the hunchback leaned forward to press the lit button.

The elevator creaked and groaned as it moved slowly downward, and with each new noise the poludnica's heart beat faster. She suppressed the urge to gasp whenever it gave any especially jarring start; she'd already done her share of freaking out in front of others, so the least she could do was hold her composure in an elevator, for Jack's sake. At last, the elevator seemed to be unable to hold the students inside and plummeted. This time a cry escaped her lips and her hands clung onto the clothing of the closest students in the car instinctively. The elevator arrived at the next floor with a crash.

She pried her fingers free of the poor students' clothing, giving embarrassed, mumbled apologies. Her legs were aching from the impact - truthfully she was surprised she had stood through the whole thing. Peering out of the open doors, she squinted into the darkness. Was that lab equipment she saw.. ? Giving a nervous swallow, she stepped out of the elevator as soon as the crowd parted enough to let her do so. Something about this place made her stomach feel queasy. Oh, she did not like this place, not at all.

Christof was just feeling proud of himself for a Job Well Done when the elevator lurched to life. As it dropped, the hunchback suddenly grabbed onto Calder for support, eyes wide in terror as the floor seemed to lurch away from them- when it finally stopped again with a crash, he toppled forward, the makeshift bandage around his neck slipping free as his still unstitched head rolled through the open doors.

Dizzy, he gave a groan, eyes lolling before taking in the place from ground level.... machinery and work benches and... this was a Laboratory! And an interesting one at that!

His body lurched forward, groping about in an attempt to not step on his own head in the dim light before accidentally kicking himself with a boot- ah. He quickly righted his dismembered appendage, tightening the knot until he could just barely breath. That would not do their adventure well. No losing your head, Christof.

Mesmerized, he didn't glance back, moving amongst the abandoned equipment with a look of wonder. It felt.... just like home. Fascinated, he traced a hand along the claw marks, approaching the Chamber with a look of fascination. What was made here? Where was it now? Who's lab was this? So many questions made his stomach flutter.

And what was in this exciting looking chamber? A weapon of Mass Destruction? Some new Fear devices? There was no time for Ghouls when there was possible Science afoot. The Igor felt he was in his element.

Carthusia didn't notice one particular patchwork boil sniffing at her hair. No, but she did notice Tset, and gave her a hug, thankful she was alright with the rest of the students. At least most of them made it here! But where were Ren and LW and all of them? Wherever they were, they were likely together, which was a relief to Pride. Patting Tset on the head, Carry was about to make herself as comfortable as possible in the car when it sprung to life, hurling them all downwards with shrieks of metal, boil and ghoul alike. Carry's hair went flying and before she knew it, everyone was in a heap on the bottom of the elevator. Carry hoped she didn't crush anyone in their descent, and uttered apologies to all around her. She helped up as many students as she could and stepped out of the elevator, bruised, but still in one piece.

The notes found in the previous rooms were interesting, but still had no specific clues. What were they making down here? Carthusia stood at the note to ponder it, and wished she could take it with her. But if she did, nobody else could see it. Best leave it there. Whoever the subject of the note was, they'd left gashes in the door, or so she can come to find. Groaning, Carthusia took a quick survey of the room before turning to Siddie. "Okay so... note to self - elevator is a bad idea. But still... we've got that and the... whatever this place is." She waved about to the room in general and spotted several other students.

Walking out to the chamber, Pride started to look around, finding some room with a hole in it. Oh boy. Better check the rest of the room first.

Ever confused and possibly suffering from some sort of brain damage since the boat accident, Rain hadn't done anything for some time. When she did come to, she found herself on the second level. How did she even get here? What was causing her to space out? Tentatively, she reached up to touch the wound at her head. She really had crashed into those rocks hard and something was clearly wrong with her.

She took a few moments to survey her surroundings. Everything was damaged. What had happened here? There seemed to be two possible exits and neither one of them were appealing to her. Several of the students appeared interested in the chamber but not her. Oh no. She had enough with dealing with the unknown. She continued on past them, towards the elevator. Everything about it oozed danger but she tried to pay it no mind. Maybe she could make it down the ladder before the elevator dropped.

At least if she perished here, she would know the cause.

Squishdom.

Rain pancake.

"You are a mighty foe," she whispered, glaring at the elevator hanging above. It seemed to groan at her in response. She knew she was taking a terrible risk but she could not bring herself to take the chamber. Oh well. "I accept your challenge."

As a boil walked past him and into the chamber Isra's blue eyes flickered with more uncertainty. The boil was..a reaper of sorts? Either way he didn't look to be enjoying himself. Before he could ask any questions a sound rang out. It echoed on the floor and made for a rather...interesting reaction.
The crash of the elevator startled Israfel, enough to the point he let out an undignified cry and scuffle, feathers floofing a second time. "CANDLE JACKING PUMPKINS! I thought something was going to attack..." With a shudder the siren took a few deep breaths. Looking at the source, he pulled his flashlight out and watched students emerge, looking a little worse for wear.

He was a tad happier he took the stairs.

"Are all of you okay?" Walking over, he pasted an orange haired demoness, who she seemed to have some idea where she was going. For now however, Israfel was more interested in his friend's well being. "Does anyone need any help? I..I don't have any pumpkin pills but I took Nurse Cricket's class. That- that has to count for something!" Nurse Cricket? Yes. That..that was a teacher. Bug lady. Glowing ghost lady of gross green bugs.

"Huh?" Tybalt stopped when he heard someone call his name; turning around to see Israfel standing there with a worried look on his face.

"Yep! I want to check it out." He answered. '"I think Whisper's coming too." He said, pointing up to where he had fallen from. Truth be told, he was more curious than he was worried. Besides, it wasn't like he had any better options. In fact, the only other option was a metal box and he couldn't see that thing going anywhere. Course, being a black dog, he didn't even know what an elevator was and therefor didn't know it's functions.

"You coming too?" He asked, noting the reaper boil, Vaith as he passed by. Followed by Christof and that pride demon. "Ah you--" He pointed at the three in shock. Christof he thought had disappeared in the cornstalks, same as Vaith. As for the pride demon... hadn't she been kidnapped? How did she get back? "How did you get away from that skull collecting guy?" He asked, letting his curiousity getting the better of him.

Carthusia's ears perked and she turned around to be greeted by another student she'd never met before. Cocking her head, she realized what he was asking and nodded. "After roughing me up a bit, they let me go. I ended up around the cornfields, but I have no clue where I was after they took me. Did you guys get any other good hits on them?" she asked. She wanted to be sure everyone else was safe, though with being on the island... safety was all relative. "Did they take anyone else?"

"Careful you don't let your mouth drop to the ground, Tybalt." Vaith bantered, tipping his head to look back at the black dog. He brushed away the remaining traces of corn and leaves from his suit, patting the front of his tux to smooth it down.

"You can thank Emily. She brought me here-- She disappeared. Or more like, I disappeared by falling down here. As for where she went afterwards, I haven't got a clue."

There was a renewed sense of familiarity with Emily, in a much improved way this time. Sure, the girl had led him a grave. But .. it wasn't that bad.

Yet.

"Looks like most of us are here."
