Questionable Protagonist

A sigh escaped the young man's lips. It was a long flight, nineteen hours, but it was manageable. It was supposed to be simple. Fly down to the drop point, pick up some supplies, and fly straight on 'home'. But no. A mecha had to break down near one of the fronts in Asia, and his plane just had to be the closest one with a mechanic on it: him. Had it been simply damage to the plates, then it could be fixed easily at any base, but the problem was something entirely else and needed a complete rehaul, so Kinosei had to get to 'home' before any repairs could be made. With bags under his eyes and shaky hands from stress of piloting and being so close to the front, he called to 'home' base. "This is the Morrow, A-71. Requesting permission to land in Hanger 2 for emergency drop off the mecha, Tier 5 Trogos."

How many planes were large enough to carry a mecha, anyways? Lucky b*****d...' The thought came to him as he barely heard the response being radioed through and as the hanger doors opened for him to land. It wasn't his best landings, but it was excellent for the shape he was in. Staggering out of the cockpit, he walked out into the hanger and watched as other workers began to remove the mecha out of the plane. A splash of once vivid red, now dulled with rust, reminded him of the 'lucky' pilot. When Kinosei went to give the mecha a check-up, he first looked for the pilot, who unfortunately was heavily injured and dead only hours ago at most.

His head quickly turned away from the blood and the memory and noticed his fellow students. A rather tomboyish girl and another mecha pilot.

[[It's a lot more fun to play an archetype most people don't like or would choose... And sorry. I sort of copied your character's profile a bit for his personality. XD]]
[[Bleh.. Sorry for being so long.. I'm used to writing more.]]

"Doesn't look like you needed me to take the other end," Jack sighed after Raya counted off three and took down both men on opposite sides of the alley. He holstered his gun and looked around for other guards. Seeing nothing he looked to Raya for her leading. "Whenever you're ready. And maybe next time we get to take someone out, I actually get the chance to do something." Jack didn't have training with many firearms beyond standard-issue pistols but he excelled when it came to hand-to-hand combat. He was agile and could avoid bullets by running out of the way, the only downside was that it wouldn't work in close quarters; he could disable nearly any person.

Raya knelt next to the men, then cleared her throat, "Sorry about that. My dad taught me to do it fast, or don't do it at all." She picked up a ring of keys and stood. She smiled at Jack, "I could wake them up for you, if it would make you feel better."

Just as she was turning to get back to her car problem, someone bumped into Angel. An angry, menacing voice followed soon after, hissing, "Out of my way!"

Angel turned around and met the girl's eyes calmly. She put a hand on her hips and raised an eyebrow. "Out of your way, my dear? Shouldn't it be the other way around, when you're in my territory?" She didn't feel the need to be nice. The girl hadn't treated her any better, anyway.

Angel looked the girl up and down. A real cheerful person. She could have been pretty, what with her silky long hair and deep indigo eyes, but her deathly, angry aura pretty much destroyed it. Glancing at her clothing, her posture, and her downright rude attitude, Angel guessed she was part of the Stealth Operation. Why are all these kind of people so... like this? she thought bitterly.

[[@CardMaster: Well, you can't really expect the RP to be any better when the creator's gone dead on us. wink We're all just posting here for the likes of it.
@Jennyss: Ohhh, you're gonna regret having picked a fight with my Angie. She ain't head of the Garage and the Infirmary for nothing. XD]]

"Pfft." Victoria wasn't afraid of this wuss. Wait, she wasn't a wuss. Victoria did a quick check-over. The girl had muscular, grease-covered arms and was holding an old-fashioned wrench rather menacingly.
Still, she wasn't going to let this girl out-talk her. "Everywhere is your territory when you're a lone wolf," she countered. Behind her back she flicked up a penknife.

Angel heard the girl's disrespectful snort, and her eyes flashed once in anger. This girl was definitely worse than the average Stealth student. Unconsciously, Angel gripped her wrench a bit more tightly.

The girl was quick on the counter. "Everywhere is your territory when you're a lone wolf."

Angel imperceptibly raised an eyebrow, trying her best to hold back the nasty comment that immediately sprang to her mind. As the girl spoke, Angel noticed the slightest tension in the girl's muscle, how she sneakily hid her hand behind her back. Angel could guess what is was she was hiding, but she didn't necessarily want to find out. Though, Angel was never one to back down from a good argument. She stood her ground and let a little bit more attitude come out. Shifting to one foot, Angel hefted her wrench, resting it on the spot between her neck and shoulder, and gave the girl a small little smirk.

"Territory or not," she said. "A lone wolf, no matter how damned skilled it may be, ain't nothing compared to an Alpha and her pack." While she was speaking, Billy emerged from under a car, curious as to what was happening. He stood off to the side now, worriedly watching the events unfold.

Devin heard the commotion coming from the garage, after a nice stroll through a courtyard. He noticed a fellow St-Op student that went in a few minutes ago. He knew she was St-Op as the student was very good at being unnoticed by most. He decided to follow, with his two Beretta's out. "Hm, better not kill." he muttered to himself as he put those away and pulled out one knife and one Escrima Rattan stick. He snuck in as he heard the last two remarks from the girls. He popped out from the shadows with his hands under his coat to hide his weapons. "Well, hello there young ladies!"
PostPosted: Mon Apr 18, 2011 11:41 pm

Angel noticed another person come in. A young man, hands in his pockets and a seemingly cheerful demeanor. Angel immediately turned professional. She might not like this girl, but that wasn't going to stop her from doing her duty.

"Hello there, sir," she said. "Come to pick up your mecha, or vehicle? Sorry to say, we're having a bit of a ... Mechanic shortage at the moment. If you see your car and it's still not done, you'll have to come back in the afternoon."

With that, she gave a slight nod in Billy's direction. He gave her a clumsy salute and returned to his job. Angel, as well, turned away from the girl and bent over the engine once more, resuming her work. She had better things to do than continue this pointless fight.

[[yeesh, did we really sound that serious? I meant it to be just some friendly banter. Oh well. O.o]]

Everything was put to a halt for a few minuets while the techs worked on getting a plane into the hangar. When she caught sight of a crew removing a rather trashed mecha, she scared curiously. It wasn't often that mecha pilots needed to be flown in let alone allowed their machinery to get this torn up. Her eyes took in the damage and frowned as she spotted a spatter pattern that could only be made by blood and them grimaced at how much it had been oxidized. That kid was toast, whoever he had been.
Deciding not to linger on that topic too long she hopped down from where she had been observing the events. With an 'I'll be back' to Astrayl Az made a beeline to the boy staggering from the plane. Obviously fatigued yet uninjured she surmised that he was most likely coming from the cockpit. Without a second thought, she produced a bottle of water for him and stood next to him. "You don't look so good. How long have you been up and where is your copilot? I'm Azrael by the way." Knowing how weary the boy probably was she kept her questions to a minimum.

"Sorry. I'm not part of the Mech unit. But, I was wondering, could I get a custom bike of my design? With your advice, as well." he asked cheerfully. He really needed a new motorcycle, so he might as well get some help designing a new one while he was here.

(Oh, prob not. xD i think I overreacted. soz!)

Victoria glared at Angel's back. She was unused to being ignored, and unused to not having the last word. She turned on her heel, spitting, "At least the lone wolf isn't slowed by others." With that, she left, heading for the main building. The head of school wanted to introduce her at some weekly assembly.
Victoria paused, wrote something on a piece of paper, attached it to a dart, and fired. The dart shot directly into the table Angel was working at. The message read: Remember the name Victoria Penn. Very soon, we'll meet again.

Angel smiled dryly at the young man. Custom bikes were very irregular, but not anything she couldn't handle. Piece of cake to her, in fact."Of course, sir," she replied. "Let me just finish up with this baby over here, and I'll serve you in just a jiffy. While you're waiting, there's a slip of paper over by the main desk over there. Custom bikes have to have custom orders, ya know?" She winked and looked back at the engine.

There was a tiny whooshing sound, then a small dart hissed by her and implanted itself in the hood of the car. Having a pretty good idea where it came from, Angel picked up the dart. There was a note attached to it. Angel read it and rolled her eyes. This girl - Victoria Penn, she called herself - was obviously not a normal Stealth Op kid. In fact, she wasn't even a normal person. Angel wasn't in the mood to start a rivalry right now, so she set the note and dart to the side. She then groaned, taking one glance at the dent and tiny hole the dart left in the hood of the car. More work for her. Whoopee.

((O.o Danng. This girl got problems. What the heck happened to her in her childhood? ))

((Trees, I don't think you really want to know... her family's totally messed up. But if you insist... her dad always left on top secret missions, and one day he and her mom had a fight and Victoria witnessed her dad killing her mom at the age of 8. She ran off and lived in the streets for 3 years until her dad found her and spent another year chasing her because she kept running away. Finally, at age 12 her dad caught her and trained her in stealth and combat until she was 16. She's spent the last year or so killing off random assassins and looking for her father, who disappeared mysteriously.))

"This is Victoria Penn," the principal announced. "She's a new student. I'm hoping that you all make her feel welcome. She is majoring in Stealth Ops and Combat."
Victoria rolled her eyes and waited for the principal to stop gushing over her. When he finally let her go, she trudged down the stairs to some girl whose name was Raya (Hey, you didn't get into a school without doing some research). "Where's Stealth Ops?" she growled.

((Not sure if someone is playing principal.))

"Terminate program." Raya said loudly. The room whirled and the war-zone faded, then vanished, leaving Jack and herself standing back at the academy. Raya smiled at the girl, "You'r standing in it. And you don't have to be so nasty. I would have told you even if you were polite." Raya wasn't bothered in the least by this girl. She just let things roll off of her back.

Victoria almost jumped. Almost. She tried not to let anything scare her. "I'll be polite when I want to be polite," she snarled. "That look on your face is pissing me off."
