Keiko blushed while Justin spoke. Give her something special? She did not think she did anything to deserve it. "Well, it was very thoughtful of you... Thank you..." She smiled and looked down at her feet. Her face began to hurt because she could not stop smiling and blushing. He was ridiculously sweet and cute to top it off.

Keiko continued staring at her feet. She just listened to the band and moved her tail to the music. Soon they ended their song and moved on to a slower one. "Would you... maybe want to dance again?" Keiko asked, looking up slowly into Justin's eyes. She was still blushing but she did not care. She was having a much better time than she thought she was going to have and she wanted to enjoy the time she had left. Yuki smiled and walked away, giving Keiko and Justin time to themselves.

Keiko smiled and took Justin hand and rested her other hand on his shoulder. She was surprised by how her nerves were no longer there. She and Justin had just met, but she felt as comfortable around him as she did around Yuki and Tamara. She hoped she and Justin would continue being friends even after the dance.

The song soon came to an end and Keiko and Justin let go of each other. Keiko smiled and started dancing again when the tempo sped up. They continued dancing together until the end of the night when the principals of both schools announced that the dance was over. Keiko stood where she was, not wanting the night to be over just yet. She looked over at Justin who appeared to be thinking the same thing. "Would... you and your friends be interested in stopping some place for food?"

"Great!" Yuki said with a smile. "Let me find Yuki and we'll meet you by the exit." Keiko wove her way through the crowd in search of her friend. She found Yuki and told her the plans. Yuki grinned and threw her arms around Keiko. "I'm so proud of you! Let's text Tamara and invite her, too!" Yuki agreed and led the way to the exit as Yuki texted their other friend. "We're ready," Keiko said as they met up with Justin and his friends.

Keiko and Yuki led the way to their favorite midnight diner. They visited it often enough that the workers knew them by name and knew their orders by heart. Tamara was already inside holding a table for them. "Tamara, this is Justin. He's the junior class president. Keiko smiled and pointed at Justin before turning to his friends. "And these are his friends... but I don't think I ever learned who was who..." Behind Keiko's back Tamara caught Yuki's eye and raised her eyebrows. She was surprised how Keiko was acting after she had been so worried earlier. Yuki smiled and nodded.

The six of them took their seats at one of the bigger booths in the place. Keiko sat between Yuki and Tamara and directly across from Justin. The waitress stopped by their table and recited the girls' orders to make sure that was what they wanted. Keiko's usual was a stack of chocolate chip pancakes and a tall glass of milk. The girls all smiled and nodded and turned to the boys, waiting for them to place their orders. "Midnight breakfast has got to be the greatest invention," Keiko told Justin. "This place has great pancakes, waffles, muffins, donuts..." She smiled and closed her eyes, imagining her plate of pancakes that would hopefully be out soon.

"So, Keiko, tell me about the dance," Tamara said, turning to her friend with a mischievous grin. Keiko blushed, understanding Tamara's motives. "Well... it was fun! A lot of fun! Justin's a really great guy and I enjoyed the opportunity to dance with him and hang out with him. Keiko smiled and looked across the table at her new friend, her face still a little pink.
