There's a difference between being racist, and agreeing that there are negative stereotypes that you may not like.
For example, hypothetically, and don't jump all over me for saying this, (I know it's my first post here), I walk into my school's dining hall, and there is a group of, let's say, African American people, screaming at the top of their lungs for whatever reason. The negative stereotype here being that 'they're too loud'. Do I hate them just because they are part of a certain ethnicity? Hell no! I'd be pissed if I walked into the dining hall and ANYONE was being loud and obnoxious. It has no bearing on what their skin color or background is. If they were white, yellow, purple or green, I'd be pissed just the same.
No, it is not okay to be racist. But what is okay, is disliking people individually for their actions. You're your own person, and you can make your own choices. My stepfather is extremely racist. It just makes me think less of him as a person.
