"All right." He reached for the box and pulled out one of the sticks, extending it slowly towards the Eevee. The pokemon leaned forward every so slightly to sniff the thing and turned up towards Claire, as if seeking validation. "Evui?"

The Eevee, familiar now with the general behavior of pocky, snapped off a piece from the offered biscuit and chewed it thoroughly. Lucas watched in silence, bringing the broken end into its reach when it seemed it was finished. An ear twitched hesitantly, and the 'vee obliged the offer with another bite.

"Ah, well... Okay." He couldn't really find any reason to refuse nor any reason to validate why he was so reluctant in the first place. He reached forward, recoiling momentarily when the Eevee flinched from the sudden threat of contact, and gently lay his hand on the little thing's head. A slight trembling shook the 'vee's body as it realized it was completely cornered, and Lucas backed away with a frown.

The Eevee curled up on Claire's stomach, its fluff of a tail largely concealing its face. It continued to watch Lucas, though, somewhat wary of him but also mildly curious. Something about the man's actions seemed almost to indicate that he was as afraid as the 'vee itself, and it kept its eyes locked on him.

Lucas leaned back with a sigh, resting his arms in his lap defeatedly. Claire's question brought his thoughts elsewhere, and he searched his head for more of the new memories. "Um, nothing off the top of my head..." He stared absently at the book forts. "I think... Yeah, I remember talking to Seth yesterday morning. About Galactic. But I think I told you about that already?"

"They're using us," Lucas said, leaning back slightly. "Not 'us' as in us us, but 'us' as in Rocket as a whole." Or that was the conclusion he had been able to make after piecing together his memories (yay!). It made good sense as well, all things considered. "It's kind of scary with them so close to home, but I really don't think they know we're here, and I don't think they'll drop everything in the middle of an operation to kill us if we happen to be there as well." Lucas himself was surprised with how levelly he was taking the whole thing, though thinking back, hadn't he been level about the Galactic ordeal for a while? Retroactive memories were weeeird.

"Hm? You didn't know?" Maybe it was something they only told those of elite or commander level... "Deimos is collecting legendaries. I'm betting he was at the PokeBall out of some wild hope that someone would bring one. And that clears up the reason for Galactic's interference at the volcano too." Actually, how much of this was he supposed to tell others? Faleen had been in attendance when he had explained everything to Seth, so it couldn't have been too bad as far as sensitive information went...

"Shoulda had the sense to do something about myself when I got to Kodo..." he mused absently. In his defense, on suddenly finding himself in a strange place for little discernible reason with no way to get back, hair dye was the last thing on his mind. Not that he was particularly fond of the idea of dying his hair anyway.

"He was planning to use them as a power source for... something. I wasn't on the job proper, so I don't know any of the details." With all the new knowledge rolling around in his head, it was somewhat frustrating to stumble upon something he really truly did not know. "You know how he was. Always on about the grand plan without ever saying what the plan actually was." It was no wonder the lower ranks had rebelled against him.

"Yeah, I can understand the feeling..." Instead of changing his identity, though, he had simply changed his affiliations. It had proved rather effective so far, or maybe he was just lucky...

The Eevee closed its eyes instinctively; it was feeling rather sleepy between the warmth and the pets. Lucas, taking note of this change out of the corner of his eye, reached a tentative hand in the pokemon's direction and ran a light touch across its ruff. It remained relaxed, apparently unaware that the contact was from a source other than Claire.
