"How does....next week sound? That will give me some time to do some picking, and get out a few other invitations! You know..." Rubbing a thumb across her chin in thought, Elle glanced over Lenore and Crow with a smile. "We could make it an excuse to dress up, if you'd like. Not formal, just...something fun, that you don't usually have an excuse to wear!"
Glancing down to watch Kudzu brush his fingers against the butterflies wings, Elle smiled. "Or perhaps I'm just looking for an excuse to make this one some new clothes. He has a tendancy to...cut....through normal material." The crystals at his elbows and ankles were abrasive, too unflexible for traditional store bought clothes! That was part of the reason Kudzu was wearing his usual outfit...the little white bathrobe was sturdy enough, and loose enough, to accomodate him!
"Are your wings sharp, Lenore? You mentioned? I wonder if you don't have the same complication!"
Peering up as Elle spoke to Lenore, Kudzu glanced between the girls. His fingers wiggled gently against the cool shadow, marvelling at the feel. He preferred sunlight, himself, but cool and dark had its place! Letting his gaze settle on Lenore, Kudzu tilted his head in questioning...sending a few leaves drifting. What were they talking about?

Aladon’s ear twitched back uncontrollably and let out a deeper laugh than a boy of his age should have.
Kanilea rubbed the boy’s head, “Why don’t you and Rose go play over there, but be careful, she’s young.” Turning her head to Green, “As long as that’s ok with you.”
Aladon responded with a quick work in Kani’s native tongue, “Jua.” Then stuck out his tongue as a return to Rose, getting closer to the girl.

"Well..." Green trailed off and studied her baby with a bit of uncertainty. Rose was an unusually happy baby but, as far as she knew, her range of movement was still quite limited.
"I'm not sure that she'll be able to join him. She might only interupt his playtime."
Rose wasn't comprehending a word of what her mother was saying but she'd learned over time that 'play' was a very, very nice thing to hear. Whenever somebody said play something worthwhile was bound to happen. Excited, the baby struggled against the straps of the stroller and reached towards Aladon with renewed vigor.
"Alright," Green sighed hesitantly, unclasped the buckle and picked Rose up under the armpits. She gently set the babe down on the ground, watching closely for any sign of tears.
This was a new experience! Rose sat there on the floor for a minute -propped up on all fours- and then stuck her tongue out at Aladon.

Crow nodded fiercely, looking delighted.
"Ooh, that'd be great. Thanks so much, Elle. It can be like a real dinner party thing, no problem! Ishta, I haven't been to something like that since...well... ever!"
Len nodded in response to Elle's question, deeply involved with making a new shadow-butterfly for Kudzu to play with.
"They are. Really, really sharp, like take-an-eye-out kind of thing. I got taught to put air-shields on them, so I don't have to worry about hurting anyone without meaning to anymore. It's great, and I can wear stuff with sleeves now, too." she said, looking pleased.

Elle brightened, obviously as excited as Crow. "Wonderful! Any special requests? Are you vegetarians, or have any particular dietary needs?" Her hand absently settled onto Kudzu's head as she spoke, thinking of this preference for organic foods and fresh water. Of course, she enjoyed the same, so meals were always easy!
Hearing the tone of pride in Len's voice, Kudzu stopped leaning against Elle's touch, as he had been doing, and raised his milky eyes to the girl. He didn't really know what she'd said, but it was a good thing, to be so gently proud!
Bringing his chubby hands together in a few sharp claps, like Elle did when she commended him for something, the babe practically beamed at Lenore as he applauded. He was happy when she was happy!

"I'm a vegetarian, yeah," Crow said, plucking at the grass and braiding the blades together. "Julian an' Ethan eat anything that won't try to bite back, so I wouldn't worry about them."
"I like anythin' as long as it isn't a bird," Lenore piped up, sending no less than four new shadow-butterflies of different sizes fluttering around Kudzu. "I do like eggs, though...there's a bit of a contradiction there, now that I think of it."
Settling back on the grass, Lenore was about to speak when Ethan burst into the room, looking rather distraught.
"Ethan? What's wrong?"
Ethan flushed as he heard Lenore's voice drifting out from the trees, shrugging slightly.
"Um. Well....Crow? Remember that box you told us not to touch?"
Crow drooped, already shaking her head and sighing.
"You touched it, didn't you."
Ethan nodded.
"But, but... it was Julian's ide-" Ethan pleaded, his last words cut off by a gurgling, screaming roar coming from just outside the room.
"Ethan! A -little-help-please-" came another voice, presumably Julian's, from outside. Ethan blanched and wrung his hands worriedly.
"Uh. It wasn't my fault this time, I swear!"
Finishing her braided grass with a sigh, Crow twisted it into a bracelet 'round her wrist and stood.
"Thanks for the company and the highly welcome dinner invite," she said with a thankful bow, "but me and the squirt have to get going. We'll see you later, okay?"

Kudzu was enraptured by the butterflies, forgetting even to clap. But as Lenore stood up, his eyes settled back on her.
Raising one hand in a baby wave, as Elle had taught him, Kudzu burbled in farewell. Elle did the same, only with more words.
"It was good to meet you both, and yes! We'll be seeing you soon! Good luck with the...erm...issue!" She offered Crow a sympathetic smile as they left. She knew how much trouble boys could be!
"Well, Kudzu, are you about ready for a snack?" The babe didn't truly nap, so food was usually a good substitute. His pale eyes went wide at the mere mention of food....it was one thing he could never get enough of!
Scooping the babe into her arms, Elle picked her way out through the Jungle Room...humming a tune to the babe. Dinner! How exciting!

{sorry for the delay, surprise cruse!}
Aldon moved quickly his hand reaching out for the baby's toungue. Gigling as he held the slimy pink worm for a second before being disgusted by it and letting it go. He carfully wiped his hands on the ground.
Not watching the children, "Oh I am sure they'll be allright. Socailization is key, and Aladon only bites things that look like food, or are small, or shiny, or really much of..." She trailed off in thought before snapping back to the conversation, "She's a very cute child that one," she said looking over now, having missed the toungue insadent. "What did you say she was again?"
Aladon, no longer avioded the rabbits touch, he was getting used to someone else being as curious as him for once, though he though her limited range of movement was funny, and the face she made while streatching amusing as well.
