Ike sat down on a rock, tail swishing in thought.

"I dunno, really," he shrugged, "I try to be as nice as I can 'n stuff but...bah...I dunno. Maybe I'm too nice." He rested his chin on his hand.

"Or perhaps you're too much of a thinker. It's not a bad thing but some people often get ignored because of it" Birvan smiled. This situation was very familiar to him

"Try to be more spontaneous, energetic. Do nonsense, cause trouble, let the world go round for a change"

He did a spin as he said it, making a visual point of what he meant. For someone so quiet it was odd to see him so carefree and lively

"I do think too much, I'll admit," Ike nodded, "but it's usually after I do something spontaneous."

He paused for a moment and peered up at Birvan.

"I don't have much energy any more...not around other people. No more nonsense. Not a lot of happy. It's hard in my situation."

"Is it? Because I saw you fly throught the branches and you didn't looked half that gloomy" he kneeled next to him and looked directly into Ike's eyes

"Look I don't know what makes you act like that around people, but don't let it affect you so much. There's a whole world out there in need to be explored and you're too young to dwell on your mind so much"

"Take the lead for once and go find the hidden wonders. If your friends don't follow you it's because they don't understand, but if they do... who knows where your steps may lead you"

"There's a difference between happiness and adrenaline," Ike grinned, his accent turning slightly British. He turns his head slightly so Birvan wasn't directly in his blind spot.

"I hate being alone...and people hate me. It's not easy to go out and try new things when you look like me. The HQ only has so much. My family really tries...but it doesn't always work..."

"You'd be amazed to see how often those 2 are connected"

"Do you think you're the only one? You're not alone in it" Birvan gets up and points to himself

"No, I know I'm not the only person," he looked up and half smiled, "I just may or may not be the only Mishap."

"You're not, trust me. I know Jabir since he was a kid and he had a hell lot of trouble because of what he was. Unlike most, including you, he was treated as a monstrocity"

Ike itched the back of his neck. Jabir had actually slipped his mind...

"Yeah...forgot about him," he bit his lower lip gently, "He's normal to me. Oh...and some lady wanted to make me a coat. I think it was a coat. Then some kids threw rocks at me." He shrugged.

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, non?"

He felt moderately proud of himself, shoving Creole into a normal conversation.

Birvan couldn't help to chuckle at the mention of Jabir as 'normal'. But who was he to argue

"There's always a bunch of jerks in the world. I recall a butcher trying to chop Jabir's neck off with one of his knives, those really big ones, just because he didn't like to see him passing in front of his shop..."

He stoped telling that story. Didn't exactly bring him pleasent memories

"But what you just said isn't true. The body and spirit can be broken if you're not careful. You can't let others say what you are and what you're supposed to be"

"Hm. That sucks," Ike drew his knees up to his chest and hugged them, "I think I'm learning that the hard way, Mister...Birvan."

He peered up at some kind of odd bird that had landed near his head.

"Nobody in my family's normal, though. We stick together...makes it a bit easier."

"Sometimes the hard way is the best one. Only the best survive..." he whistled a single note and the bird flew to his hand, letting be petted

"But let me tell you something I learned a bit too late. There is no such definition for normal, never was and never will be. It's a pattern without any real borders"

"And those who consider themselves normal are just being ignorant"

Ike smiled and watched the bird happily.

"Normal...no," he snickered, "but there's certainly an average for the...vast majority of humans around here. The undead aren't...average." His pupils contracted involuntarily, causing the blue in his eyes to take over momentarily.

"The hell with most of them. But undead... you mean yourself? As far as I can tell you're pretty much alive"
