"So it means that I have to talk to the person I like if they don't know it, so we can be on the same page and we'll have a lot of hardship, but we'll still pull through?" Yuugi blinked. It was a lot to take in.
"I don't know.. I'm scared about telling anyone." He didn't want to lose any friends over this silly thing.
Then again, maybe it wasn't so silly.
"That's some fancy card playing there, though..

"What's there to be scared about?" Bakura asked as he put the cards back into the box. "Whatever, it's up to you shorty. The Nine of Swords is mostly a bad omen, but giving what your other cards were I don't think you have too much to worry about."
Once the cards were put away Bakura went back to staring down the ceiling. "I haven't read anyone for awhile. Back when I was first on the streets I used to do it a lot for money. Sort of forgot I had them till now."

Yuugi didn't say anything. There was plenty to be scared about. He didn't want to get hurt.
He didn't want Bakura to leave for another insert-number months, either. He wanted Bakura to stay.
"Hey, can I sleep with you tonight?" Really, such a statement didn't mean anything. The people of the Squat lived in poor conditions, and they didn't have very many "beds," if you could call them that, nor did they have very many blankets. Thus, there was a need to share. There was no such thing as privacy in the Squat. But they were used to it. It was just how things were run.

-[J-Chan]- Ryou listened to Jou silently, still holding Night in his arms. The slight shake of the cat's purr was felt through Ryou's arms, making him feel slightly less alone than he felt. Looking back up he nodded.
"A week...ummm...I sort of took some money from my dad." He admiited with shame. These people had hardly any money, and here he was, once rich, able to get anything he wanted, outside with them. "I took money that could last me a while...but that's it. And I have actually been outside...it's better then being inside with people..." he lowered his voice to the last part and heard Night mew as he woke up from his nap. "Wow... a week out on your own." Jou smiled and waved one hand dismissively. "Naw, don't worry about taking money with you. How else were you going to get by? I had to take some from my old man when I left home too... somethin' like a year or two ago... I don't really remember." He shivered a little again, sticking his hands further down into his pockets.
"... You don't like people? Or you just don't trust anybody out here?" If Ryou didn't like people, he would have to get over that to live with Jou and the others. They all had to communicate at least a little, and had to share everything they had to survive. A loner was easy pickings. A group was strong. That's what Jou had learned.

Ryou looked up once more as Jou spoke up. "A year?" he gasped. He knew a lot of these people have been out longer than that, but this was first of them that he actually met or spoke to. He walked closer, finally coming beside him.
"I guess it's a mix..." He mumured to his question as Night peered up from the comfort of Ryou jean jacket. His wide blue eyes peared at Jounouchi with confusion, probably wondering who it was. "I never really was comfortable with crowds or people..." he watched Night push his black furred against against Ryou's chest purring happily.
Smiling Ryou turned his head towards the blonde. "But I think I can get used to it." As if Night understood he meowed and began trying to climb up the shirt of his companion.

Another gust of wind. Yami scowled, covering his face with his hands as bits of dirt flew into his eyes. He stopped wiping his eyes when he heard voices coming from he front room. He frowned, listening closely, trying to pick out the voices... He growled softly as he heard the voice of Bakura. It was a long story, but he and Bakura had never been fond of each other... Well, to put it bluntly, they hated each other. True, their fights rarely went farther then name calling, but they were enough to cause Yami to dislike him. Well, he disliked almost everyone, but that wasn't the point. Yami blinked as he heard the familiar voice of Yuugi. Yuugi was a different matter; Although he wouldn't admit it openly, Yuugi was a bit of a soft spot of his. He cared for the younger boy like a little brother.. Or something else. Yami coughed, his mind starting an internal dillemna (sp?); Go and say hello to Yuugi and face Bakura, or stay in the kitchen freezing his a** - and face - off. With a slight groan, as if someone else was making him do it, Yami turned around and walked into the narrow, short hallway that lead to the main room. ( More sucky-ness! )

Yuugi shivered.
"It's really cold tonight.." Then he looked up, having heard footsteps.
"Hey, Yami." He smiled broadly, shifting and sitting on his heels on the worn-out couch.
"I haven't seen you all day. Where have you been?" Yuugi always wanted approval from Yami. It was hard to explain, it was like they had a special connection or bond between them.
"Did you have a good day? Did you get something to eat? Do you want me to make you something?" Yuugi just wanted to see Yami smile or to be patted on the head or something.
Yuugi was mostly treated like a kid due to his height.

Yami couldn't help it; despite himself, he smiled. Yuugi's eagerness always made him feel silly; It was one of the only things that ever really made him smile. "Oh, I've just been here and there.. I stole a few CDs from the mall today; the guards there are really easy to fool." He flashed another smile. "And, er, I'm fine Yuugi, you dont have to make me anything... So um, how have.. you been?" Inwardly, Yami swore. He was always bad at conversation, and for some reason, Yuugi always made him nervous.

"I've been doing great. Bakura read me my fortune today. Just now, actually. He said that I should tell my 'love interest' that I like them so that we would be on the same page."
He hopped up and off the couch, "I want to make something for you. Something warm because it's so cold outside. I'll make something for Bakura, too. I was just about to, actually." He smiled, "Is that okay? You don't mind, do you?"

[Ookami-sama] ((Hi. This is Kat, a friend of Ookami's. She wanted me to tell you that she's grounded [due to stupid reasons], so she can't get online right now. Sorry. xp )) --Edit-- (( Appears that I have the computer back. Dunno how long it will last. Just thought I'd let you guys know. heart )) ((Ookami!!! *tackle-glomps* Don't leave us! I hope everything is alright over there, and that you can continue to get on often. <33 And welcome back Kyoko <3! Stop bashing your posts D: Jou chuckled at Ryou's surprise. The poor kid really was new at everything, wasn't he? "Yeah... I tried to run away a few times before that, but I always got caught, or changed my mind last minute because I didn't have enough money, or I actually felt bad for leaving... eh, well that last one didn't last long. So, here I am." He folded his arms up behind his head casually, still trying not to visably shiver. It would have helped if the wind would have stopped blowing the way it was.
"... Well, believe me when I say you can trust my friends. They've helped me out a lot, and they'll help you too. And yeah... you'll just have to get used to being around people, I guess. You're safer that way you know. Anybody is more likely to get jumped alone than with a group. You don't really have to talk too much though if you don't want... it helps though. Helps the time pass quicker." Again he glanced back at Ryou with a smile. "We're almost there."

"What? No hello for me Yami? Oh, my poor heart is crushed." Bakura said sarcastically as he smirked. "Nice vest, steal it off a dead tramp?"
Bakura truned his focus back to Yugi, totally not caring that Yami was now glaring at him. "What for? I'm fine shorty so don't worry, I don't need anyone to take care of me. And as much as I'm sure Yami would love to chat, I rather not."

Yuugi nodded, "Okay, I won't fix you anything." But he couldn't help but giggle at Bakura's "tramp" schpiel.
"Do you want something to eat, Yami?" Yuugi asked again, then pulled on his hand slightly.
"What kind of CDs did you steal? Are you going to sell them again? We can't play them since we don't have a radio or a CD player.."

Ryou watched Jou with worry, he knew he was cold, and it was his fault too. Night had finally settled himself on Ryou's shoulder, purring and pushing his small black head in the crook of the pale boy's neck. "Night...if you stay up there you'll get cold." He whispered and tugged the kitten off his shoulder. Carefully he wrapped the kitten back up, and laughed at the small animal's pout like expression.
"Well thanks..." he said finally and looked to where they were walking. "I haven't been able to trust many people..." his voice was barely above a whisper as his brown eyes watched the aminous clouds roll by. At the words we are almost there, he felt himself get excited, as did Night, as he was desperatly wiggling around in Ryou's jacket. "I'm glad we are almost there...I don't want you to get any colder, or else you will get sick because of me."

Yami threw Bakura a death glare, and, resisting the urge to punch him (hey, his back was turned anyway - that wouldn't have been fair), turned instead to Yuugi. "Actually, something hot would be nice... As for the CDs, yeah, I'll most likely sell them. I can make about 60 dollars from this." He grinned again, sheepishly.
( Its so short. XD At least I posted. )
