Sonas walks into the room and settles down at the nearest chair. She pulls out here quil, ink, and notebook and carefully copies the notes on the board before starting on her homework.

((I'm so sorry everyone! My computer crashed in the middle of the term. Luckily, I save almost everything. So, for the next lesson, I'm going to post the 3rd and 4th lesson and give you 10 days to finish it. That way we still have time for a Final before the Term is over. The lessons will be up by morning at the latest!))

'Professor, can you please explain how the brightness and darkness of stars work, because you mentioned it in this lesson.'

Hearing Lana's question to the Professor, Chuchube stops and thinks for a minute.
"I know I'm not in the same class level but I've been doing some extra reading and I think I remember something about the brightness of stars."
Clears her throat and recites from memory.
"The brightness of a star in our sky, or its relative magnitude, depends on its distance from us and it's "true brightness." The "true brightness" is called the star's absolute magnitude. For example, imagine two stars with the same "true brightness" but one star is closer to us than the other. The closer star will appear brighter. The closer the star, the lower the magnitude. I hope that answers your question."
