Riley slid off of Jericho's back slowly, and looked in the direction he pointed. She gathered her surroundings, and used what she could see coupled with the aerial view she'd recieved while in the air, to contract a detailed map of her surroundings in her head. As she did this, her eyes were unfocused, gazing nowhere in particular. She stood next to him for a full minute, saying nothing. Her hand remained on his scales, but otherwise she was inwardly absorbed.
After the minute had passed, her mind held a complicated geographical map of the surrounding area, and she planned her move carefully. She would try to send this to Jericho, but his mind wouldn't be able to process what he saw as anything more than a jumble of color and light flashing past his vision. When she realized she was failing, she stopped and let him clear his head.
Sorry. I didn't realize that wouldn't work. Just do as I say. Stay here, silently, until you hear my voice calling. When I give the word, I want you to come barrelling towards the area. I'll be waiting on the other side. Run them towards me, and if you happen to catch any while you do so, all the better.
She backed away from him, and after a moment or two, the shadows of the forest had engulfed her. How exactly she would manage to get around the entire open field without making any sound would be a mystery to anyone but her, but once she had done so, she sent Jericho a quiet thought. Hallow-deer. It was a herd of them, looking ridiculously plump and grown. The forest's foliage had done them well, but not well enough to save them from their fate.
She was waiting in a tree, on the other side of the field. Her body was flat against a branch, legs outstretched fully to conform with the length of the wood underneath her. Her movements were slow, and predatory, until suddenly she stilled. She had the perfect vantage point, and her next thought reached Jericho sharply. Now.

Suddenly getting a jumbled mess of colors in his head, Jericho blinked in confusion before shaking his head to try and focus again. For a moment he thought he may have landed on some strange mushroom which had unleashed some hallucinogenic spores but the explanation for that phenomenon was soon cleared up by his psionic friend.
Nodding to her, he stayed put while she went on ahead. At least this solved the issue with vision and stealth on his part. Not that there was anything wrong with sneaking up on prey, but it was going to be considerably more difficult on his part to do just that at the moment.
Once he had received his cue, he charged on forward towards the deer. He always wondered what one of these creatures tasted like and he was about to find out very soon. Just in case the sight of a big red dragon running straight for them wasn't enough, he let out a might roar to send them fleeing. Or perhaps it was to make some of them freeze in place momentarily in fear. Either way it would work out for the hunters. Snapping out at one of the closer creatures, he managed to snip a part of its rear as it leaped over a fallen log. Having wounded it, he just continued onward. That particular hallow-deer likely wasn't going to get away too far and they could easily get back to it once the chase was done.

Riley's eyes flickered in the darkness, watching the herd of deer as they trampled towards the forest edge that held her waiting. She was scanning for specific deer, locking their locations in. When they began running under her tree, several of them were abruptly wrapped up in tentacles that darted out from the tree above. They disappeared into the branches, one after the other. The ones that were spared frantically picked up their pace, realizing that even the forests were not safe tonight.
There was a simultaneous multitude of cracking sounds, before Riley dropped like a wildcat from the tree, landing smoothly on the balls of her feet. Her fingers just barely touched the ground, before she stood up straight and reeled her catch in.
Eight of her tentacles held lifeless deer hanging from them. There was no blood - if one looked closely, it was clear their necks had been cleanly snapped for a quick and painless kill. Upon further inspection, it was clear that all eight of her deer were adults, and all were male. A species that lived in a dying world had their priorities when it came to hunting - she knew what to look for, and what to avoid.
Well, that was fun. She almost gleed, as she dropped her catches on the floor and her tentacles hung loosely behind her. Her chest heaved and sank - she was breathing heavily from excitement, though from where it was uncertain.
Now, the real question. How many do you want, or alternatively, how partial are you to your meal having their brains still in their bodies when you eat it?
One thing was for sure - Riley was not your typical ghoul.

Snapping out once again, he managed to bite down fairly hard on another deer's backside, snapping its spine and killing it in an instant. Dropping it so he could continue on, he kept his charge going.
Seeing Riley do her deed, Jericho came to a halt, leaving a skid mark in the dirt. Once he had stopped, he looked towards the Mindflayer to see that she had eight of the creatures in her grasp. He had to agree with her on the fun bit for sure.
"Nice catch," he complimented, impressed she managed to snag so many at once, "That makes ten deer for us total."
"As for the brains, take however many you want. There should be enough meat in the deer for me. I'm not too picky about missing chunks or organs here and there."

Riley's eyes lit up like a little gremlin on Halloween morning. I was hoping you'd say that. She plucked one of the deer with her hand, and dragged it over while moving closer to stand at his side. She slumped down, leaning against his body, and dragged a clawed finger in a delicate line around the skull of the deer. It was a scalpel-thin cut, and the first time around she only went through the skin and muscle. It was a slower, deeper cut that began the painful breaking sounds of skullbone being penetrated and sliced.
Still, it really only looked like she was opening the top of a can of food.
This was nice. She murmured, as she popped the top off of a deer head cleanly and began the careful process of plucking the brain out. One of her tentacles slid in to the cavity, and with a sickening thud she disconnected the spine from the skull. She pulled the beautiful little specimen out, and then flipped the top of the skull back on, and picked the deer up by it's scruff.
Here you go, she murmured, and flipped the deer up towards his muzzle. He could catch it in mid-air, if he was quick - or he could get it when it fell. All she knew was, she had a beautiful, warm, still pulsing with currents brain in front of her, the first she'd had since she arrived at the school. She was filled with contentment.
I'm not going to do this to all of them, so don't wait for me for them all. She scritched his underbelly for a moment, while her tentacles all dug into the brain greedily. They all slipped deep within, stabbing the brain in her lap multiple times as they siphoned off slices and sucked them down.

With intrigue, Jericho watched as the skull was sliced open rather neatly and effortlessly with her claws. Those things were much sharper than he would have thought and he had to wonder if she could do that with any creature or if some things had too thick or hard of a skull to really open that way.
As the carcass was tossed up towards him, he snatched the body in mid air. The hallow deer was small enough for him to swallow whole but he didn't eat it just yet. Flipping his head up, he tossed it back up to spew a small jet of flame at it before catching it once more. This time the deer was gone for good. Licking his lips after that, he nodded to the Mindflayer.
"Sure thing. There's two I left behind during the chase. I may as well take care of those first," he rumbled approvingly as she scratched his underbelly. Not wasting more time, he went off to find where the one wounded deer had gone. As expected, it hadn't managed to get too far and was in considerable pain at the moment. Jericho happily finished it off as he chomped down onto the small creature to devour it. He then went on to find where he dropped the other hallow deer to eat up as well.

Riley was slightly startled at the rush of heat she felt nearby when he roasted his meal, and looked up just as the flames had dissipated. She made a face - ew, cooked food - before lifting another deer to her and sliding her finger around it's skull, even as her tentacles were still working on her first one. It was a FEAST, A WONDERFUL FEAST.
Riley watched Jericho amble off in the darkness, though her eyes saw him clear as day, and let out a soft chuckle. Jericho, I'm really glad you came to this school. She admitted, despite the fact that they were both in the process of eating. I don't know how comfortable I'd feel going hunting like this, with other students. In fact, it's probably why I've been putting it off until now. She plucked the second brain out of it's shell, and set the remains to the side for him. It just makes me feel better. Hanging out with someone who I don't feel compelled to act different around.
She hadn't realized how impeding her lifestyle at the Academy had been until she said it. She had a very strict goal, and it required constant aggressive manipulation - of both herself, and those around her. With Jericho, however.. well, he was already her mount. She didn't need to win him over to her side.
It was nice, just being herself for once. Even if being herself meant decapitating and devouring brains in the middle of a dark forest.

Heading back towards Riley so he could eat the other deer as well, Jericho tilted his head as she began to speak. He soon gave a warm smile, well as warm as his dragon face would allow, to her. The dragon hadn't been aware that she had been strained at all around anyone else. Granted, he didn't know her for very long yet, but it was still rather nice to hear. He didn't know her reasons for why she felt compelled to act differently around others seeing how he didn't know her overarching goal, but he guessed it had something to do with being fairly new to the school herself.
"Well I'm glad you feel that way around me," he said, "And I'm also glad you came here as well, Riley."
Spotting the other brainless deer, he went on to chow down on it before moving on to one of the other carcasses. Taking the body carefully, he bit down hard on it. The head of the deer soon hit the ground with a slight thud and the rest of the body was quickly devoured. It was rather amazing to be having real, fresh meat again for once.

Riley let out a keening sound of happiness at the severed head that rolled her way. She picked it up, and held it eye to eye. The deer head had a face of terror frozen on it, and it almost made her laugh at such a cute thing with such a demented looking expression.
Then she gutted it's brains as per usual.
Good. She murmured, while wiping her tentacles on the grass. She realized that her stomach, and part of her armor, was coated red with blood, but she wasn't too worried. Everything was washable, after all - though walking back into the dorms looking like this would be .. interesting.
That was what, her third brain? Fourth? She had lost count, and she could tell she was full. It was the first time she'd felt full in.. she stopped for a moment, and realized she couldn't actually remember a time when she ever did feel full. She dropped down and spread liquidly on the grass, her arms and tentacles spread out around her. She wiggled uncharacteristically.
She heaved her chest in a happy sigh. This could be the best day of my life. She whispered.

Riley seemed to be rather pleased with herself and Jericho couldn't help but let out a laugh before devouring the rest of the deer. Once he was done with all of that, he let out a rather content sigh while licking his lips of any blood that had gotten on the outside of his jaws. He was feeling fairly full now himself.
Glancing over towards the Mindflayer, he grinned before giving her a light nudge with his snout.
"Been awhile since you've been able to eat like that hasn't it?" he said before laying himself down onto the grass as well, being careful to not put himself on top of any of her tentacles.

Riley pushed herself up onto her elbows and gave Jericho a long look, before a quick roll had her bumping into his side. She used him as a pillow, and went back to lying in the grass.
I don't recall ever eating like that. Ever. I thought I would regret coming to Amityville, but tonight made it all worthwhile. She patted her stomach, still flat despite how she felt she'd engorged. I probably won't have to eat again for a week. She would probably cheat and have something sugar related in the meantime, though.
The blood that splattered against her skin had stopped being sticky, and started feeling dry and uncomfortable. She rubbed her stomach lightly to flake it off, and grumbled. But now all I feel like doing is taking a long, hot shower and sleeping. Perhaps forever. I shall hibernate just as you did and make you worry as I disappear for days. It is your just desserts!
Riley laughed freely, and closed her eyes. If she wasn't careful, she'd end up falling asleep right there. The warm rumble that was her pillow was just soothing enough to make it happen.

Resting his head on the grass, he grinned as Riley poked fun at his little hibernation. Normally he'd feel like napping after eating like that as well, but he just woke up not long ago. So he was just relaxing here, letting the flesh and bone digest. It would be awhile before he'd need to eat as well.
"I suppose I'd be getting what I deserve there," he said, "But you're right. Tonight has made this place considerably more tolerable to be in. Hopefully the school will show us more opportunities to be glad we came here rather than elsewhere."
Though, with a headmistress like Hellma, that may be difficult.

Riley made a noise of agreement, before shifting slightly. Mmf. More would be good. Yes. Her voice sounded a little muffled, and far away. She turned her face and pushed it into the exposed underbelly that she was using as her pillow, before resting the side of her head against it. That would be.. good. She repeated. Now her voice sounded as if it was underwater. Better. Things taste better with sugar. She mumbled nonsensically. So many brains. Warm. Full. Daddy would be jealous. Should bring something to Mal. A content little vibrating sound filtered through her quiet, abstract thoughts - a snore. She'd fallen asleep with her mind open to Jericho by mistake.
After a minute or so, flickers of color and light would dance across his eyesight. There would be no pattern to it, no sense - just pretty dancing lights echoing in his mind as she dreamed.

As he relaxed there, Jericho idly listened to Riley as her words made less sense as time went on. Though, soon, a strange vibration hit his mind. Was that the equivalent of a Mindflayer's snore? He didn't think it was possible seeing how she didn't have a nose. It was soon followed up by some random colors and lights flashing and flickering about. This made him rather curious as to what she was seeing.
At least they weren't too noisy or anything like that, which allowed him to rest there. The dragon figured he may as well stick around and wait for Riley to awaken so they could both head back to school. He didn't mind having to wait, especially now that his belly had been filled.
And if anything tried to make a meal out of her while she slept, they'd have a red dragon to deal with.

Unfortunately, Riley wasn't going to wake up. She was actually falling deeper and deeper into sleep. Her mind patterns were making queer little designs in Jericho's minds-eye, sometimes punctured by the sparkle and glint of light on steel. Riley shifted against him, mumbling something incoherent - a moment of clarity had her dreaming the words most beautiful mind before they drifted back into wordless sounds. At one point, she cringed in her sleep, and a wave of guilt washed over her thoughts. Sorry mommy. She mumbled, before her face pressed flush against Jericho's warm side, and her thoughts stilled to nothing but unreadable sound and light. She was too deep to be understood now, and it was clear she wasn't coming out of it.
