I was, however, rather thinking about DUST's alternate world: Winston Churchill, confined to a metal shell, now leads the Troops on the battlefield more directly .... I think he still smokes, though ....

Seconding Winnie. From what I've seen at least (gonna possibly pick up the base game) it looks like Day After Tomorrow style Sci-fi, where everything is quasi-plausible with the alien tech making up for all of the ridiculous almostscience.

Well, if everything is qasi-plausible .... then that should be so, too. The only problem would be making proper stats, and decide on how to use the piece ..... (C confined to a walker .... )
But then, i can also say that it just was a wierd idea i got, more for fun than serious use ..... wink

Dust is serious business, not a matter of laughs and good natured play. Death to the American pigs. twisted

Serious? Now it just sound like a Mutant Cronicles/Warzone wannabee ..... razz
(Paolo Parente used to do illustrations for games based on that world .... )
.. Nah, i'm fully confident that DUST is at least 20 times better than Warzone was .... but i do have a problem with games that takes themselves too seriously. (That used to be part of the problem with GW the latest 10-15 years, but after having finally released Jokaero minis, there may still be some hope for them .... sadly, it seems that the J's finest inventions, the digital weapons, has been removed ..... not good.)
I'm wondering .... How would a mix between DUST and Tannhauser work?

Both games have differing mechanics and settings. Tanhauser is squad based at best and uses a reactive movement system dictated by the map used. Dust is at platoon level and beyond, using a more free to act grid map system, with future option for true table top game play like 40k. Also, Tanhauser is WWI with the occult as main explanation of alternate history and Dust is WWII / Cold War with aliens, mysterious resources and giant robot tanks. Not that I'm knocking Tankhauser, it is on my "to purchase and play" list, pity it's OOP as of right now.
Dust is, or should I say, was pretty serious. The Operation SeeLöwe expansion has rewritten quite a ******** of old background info penned by Paolo himself, including the removal of the Waffen SS, fudging up deployment years of certain robot types and pretending the holocaust never happened. While yay for removing Hitler from the game (though it is rumoured they might revive him for a later expansion as an evil revenant), I can't help but feel that they made a lot of those steps to make the game more friendly and appealing to the whole family.
Mind, my official Dust "sourcebook" is a cheap pin up book with poorly translated blurbs of history and pictures of soldiers in gas masks and women in rather degrading poses and uniforms, or lack thereof.

Thanks for the info, Lt. Brookman. ...
I was thinking of the possible option to add Tannhauser's miniatures to DUST .....
Ah, well, i guess i'll have to do as i have done a lot of years already: Find ways to fit them all into my own minature rules ...

I'm sure Tanhauser mini's are the same size as the Dust range. But that's for a different topic.
