Kari nodded and followed th way Shadow went. She couldnt run as fast but she was a good runner. She looked at Rouge who was flying "Where is the tunnel exactly?' she asked.

Shadow was ahead of them, still jumping from rock to rock, occasionally running-er, gliding-now and then on his shoes, though. "Over there." Rogue pointed up at the volcano. She was a fast flyer. Then she looked down at Kari. "But I saw some odd creatures. Demon-like. I don't think this'll be easy for us." (We g2g, buhbye D: )

Kari nodded "You should have said so before Shadow took off" she said. She started to runner faster hoping to catch up with him before he went inside.

Trent heard Shadow and Rogue arguing and walked back from the other side of the coptor to see what was going on. He jumped a little when Kari cut in, shouting at them to stop arguing. He sighed to himself when they left to follow Shadow and walked around to look for a good spot to watch for anything werid. He found a large rock to sit on near the helicopter and began to ponder on the lotus gems. unstable and dangerous?..... He looked down at his webbed hands and scales. He looked confused. He always wondered why the scentists looked so different from him and the others....like they were actually normal humans. Why would they give us a mission when they won't even tell us their intentions? He wiped some sweat off his forehead, and drank more water. He had to play the waiting game now.

"Ah, he can take care of himself." Rogue said, and sped up, so she could keep with both Kari and Shadow's quickness. "Wow, it wasn't this far before." She pondered aloud, "Maybe because I was flying?" Shadow skidded to a stop suddenly. Just in time; a large, armored, demon-like worm had just shot out of the ground infront of him. He dodged out of the way as it's mouth snapped where he had just been. "I was wondering when I'd see one of you ugly bastards." Rogue landed beside him. "So you knew about these, then?"

Kari stopped on the other side of Shadow. She looked at the Worm thing and then looked away. She sighed lightly "This mission is not an easy one" she thought. She looked back to the worm once more

(Yeah, I hate being in that position. Hmmm....How bout Trent can see them as tiny dots in the distance? xD)
"I do my research." Shadow said, as the worm opened it's four-cornered mouth, like an ugly flower, and shot a red, spikey ball at Kari. "Watch out!" He jumped into the air, kicking it back at the worm. It went into it's open mouth, making it emit a roar-like sound. (Genius! rolleyes )
"It's mouth!" Rouge exclaimed, jumping into the air and flying up at it's still-open mouth. She kicked inside it. The Worm's top half fell back a bit, then went forward, flinging Rouge off. The bottom half was still in the dirt. "Ahh!" She yelled, doing a back-flip in mid-air and catching herself, floating there by flapping her wings. "Nasty thing, aren't you? Worse then Shadow!"

Kari gasped as the worm shot something at her. She looked at Shadow as he protected her. She looked away ashamed that she needed to be protected. She looked at the worm and then to the mouth ready to attack it if someone could distract it so that she could get a hit on it. She might not be able to do much damage due to her using her claws as a weapon until she gets a really one.

"Shut the hell up, Rouge." Shadow said, irritated, hands in fists. "Kari!" Rouge called down to her, "Hit it when it's mouth is open! Shadow and I will distract it for you!" She flew down at it, kicking it. "Hey, ugly! Over here!" The worm reared it's head, turning toward's Rouge, opening it's mouth and shooting a spiked ball at her. Rogue was already on the other side of it. "Missed me!" "Now Kari!"

Kari nodded. She ran up while the worm was distracted and made he nails grow longer. She smirked and jumped near its mouth slicing her claws upward while its mouth was open slicing it. She got away quickly as she looked at the worm as it was bleeding from the mouth. She didnt know if she did enough damage. She looked at her hand and saw the blood on it. She looked away and looked to the worm once more getting ready to attack it once more for a final blow if needed.

The worm roared, before falling down, apparently dead. Shadow looked at it. Rouge landed. "Well, glad that's over." she said brightly, smiling slightly. Shadow was sitll watching the worm's body. He wasn't even blinking. The worm twitched. His eyes widened slightly. Rouge didn't notice. "So are we going?" Slowly, the worm turned, it's mouth facing Rouge's back. It opened it enough to shoot out one last spike-ball. Shadow karate-chopped it; where it's head would be one a person was sliced off. But the spikey ball was already headed towards Rouge. Shadow ran up to her and pushed her out of the way of it, ducking to dodge it himself. The ball expldoed on impact with the ground. Rouge landed on all fours(her knees and hands). She looked up. "What was THAT about?!" She asked irritably, standing and wiping dirt off herself. "Never turn your back on an enemy. Even if it looks dead." Shadow said, standing too. "You left your guard down." Rouge blinked. "What are you talking about, Shadow?" He pointed at the burned ground where the ball exploded. Rouge looked at it, obviously puzzled. "Where'd that come from?"
(She's not the brightest. xD)

Kari took a breath of relief as she saw Rouge was unharmed. She looked at her worm and let her fighting stance down but kept her guard up. She looked at her hands and tried to shake off the blood which started to dry. She hissed out as she whipped the blood off. She hated having the blood of things she kills on her hands. She looked at Shadow and Rouge "Shall we continue?" she asked.

"Yes. I'd prefer to leave this mentaly retarted bat behind, however." Shadow said, turning and walking in the direciton of the volcano. "What'dya mean I'm mentally retarted? Hey! Come back here and answer me!" Rouge flew after him.
