Yuzi sat up straight. "How about the basics? Like, what's your favorite color? And then you ask me a question." She says sipping on her tea.

"mmk. well my favorite color is black." he said leaning in afterwards. His hand were wrapped arounf his cup and were being warmed by the heat it gave off. "What is your favorite thing to do? art, read, swim ya know like activities." he said smiling towards her.

Yuzi leans in a bit too. "This might sound nerdy, but I like to paint and read. And I especially like going to beaches, even though that might not be an activity." She laughs. "Hmm,if you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be?"

" Beaches hmm? that sounds like fun. and as you can tell i like to draw." he samid sipping his cocoa afterwards. "one word hmm?" he said rubbing his chin. Shadow had never been asked this before so he had to think about it. " probably extraordinary, because im not one but two species and i can be really nice or somewhat not so nice." he said smiling. "What about you? whats one word you can describe yourself in." he asked tilting his head.

Yuzi smiles. "Extraordinary,huh? That fits you well." She takes a sip of her tea. "One word to describe me would probably be...Determined or Quirky." She laughs.

Shadow scratched the back of his head. " you think so?" he said smiling afterwards. " Both of those fit you well." he said staring at her wagging his tail.

Yuzi ears perked up. "They do? That's nice to hear..." She said with a slight smile, and looked out the window, sighing.

Shadow smiled. " well yeah . .. . . " he stopped in mid sentence hearing her sigh, " something wrong?" he asked as he pet the dog and looked at Yuzi.

Yuzi looks back at Shadow for a second. "N-no...why do you ask?" She says, facing the window again and dazing. She didn't like to lie, but she also didn't feel comfortable talking about her past.

Shadow took her hand softly and looked at her. " Yuzi, you can tell me anything. Whenever your ready to ill be there to listen." he said kissing her hand afterwards.

Yuzi's face turns a light red. "W-well, my past wasn't the greatest. Feeling unwanted and unneeded, well, that...that was a common thing for me. Feeling unloved and hated was too common..." She says, trying to smile but goes back to getting teary.

Shadow holds her close as he see's her start to tear up. " its ok Yuzi. That is how my life was too. After my family died i was alone. People would look at me weird because i looked different. I was even beaten because i looked different." He said as he began to rub her back softly. " But we are here now, with creatures like us. People at our school wont look at us weird because we are like them." Shadow said in a calm voice. His tail swayed from side to side as he spoke to Yuzi.

Shadow smiled and sat back down into his seat. "your welcome." he said sipping his hot cocoa. " i wonder where this dogs owner is. She has been gone for awhile." he said looking around the Starbucks.
