Best: FD like everyone has said above me. However, my reasons are many. 1) Dragons are amazing. I don't care what you say, I like them. 2) The theme is amazing. It rivals Julius' theme. 3) EVIL! EVIL! EVIL! Then again first time I tried I was under leveled
Worst: I haven't gotten to Idoun yet, so it would be Medeus

Best: FD, All of the reasons above pretty much explain this. Worst: I would say Idoun, mainly because she is as anticlimactic as everyone is saying.

Well the votes have been tallied from the last round, the results are up, and the next round is beginning with Best/Worst FE. This should be a good one.

Not having played the entire series makes me a tad biased right off the bat, but...
Best: FE7. While my favorite FE is Path of Radiance for numerous reasons, I would call Blazing Sword the best by the series' standards instead of mine. The game is not too difficult and not too easy, and it has the most replay value out of any game I've ever picked up, ensuring I never get bored. It has three (two, really) different stories to tell, with a good cast of well rounded characters, most of which are interesting in their own right. While the story is fairly standard, it is enjoyable and it keeps the pace going, which is what story in this game really should do (at the very least). The chapters and maps are varied, with many mission types and obstacles that change depending on the situation. Not to mention, Hector mode is a proper difficulty upgrade from Eliwood mode, with different unit and map formations, instead of lumping on the pumped up enemy fake difficulty like most of the games do. Speaking of which...
Worst: The Shadow Dragon remake. Very lazy remake. The game has not aged well. The pace is abysmal, and the chapters are repetitive. The recalss option offers plenty of different avenues to take, but I would not want to replay a game that was not fun for me. Plus, fake difficulty everywhere.

Best: FE4. A wonderful difficulty curve, lover interactivity that surpasses all but the GBA-era supports, playing over two generations, introduction to prepromotes that didn't suck... I'm lookin' at you, Sigurd and Sety. Player control over the difficulty of the second arc, and when these elements are paired with intriguing characters and a riveting storyline filled with incest and scandals galore, it makes for a marvelous ride.
The maps are huge and varied, a save-by-turn approach can just as likely kill you as save you, if you use it (the ability to choose is nice), and the arena system is carefully controlled to prevent abuse. A delightful cast rounds out a superb example of the Fire Emblem series.
Worst: Get out of my face, FE11. No challenge, flat characters, and a storyline that nearly bored me to tears. Re-classing seemed like a tack-on feature, I felt no attachment or remorse when I killed off a character, and.. well, when a story sucks that bad, and when gameplay grates your nerves to this extent, it's not a game. It's a chore.

Yeah, I haven't played every single FE either, so with that in mind . . .
Best: FE 7, Blazing Sword. Not only was it my introduction to the Fire Emblem series, but it has been the one game to hold my interest in playthrough after playthrough, both in and outside of the FE series. It has most of my favorite characters in it, a wonderful support system that only gives further character development, and two plot twists I never saw coming the first time. Even now that I've logged countless hours over many, many, many playthroughs, I'm still not ready to put this game down for good, and I don't think I'll ever be--it's just that awesome in my book (That, and I've yet to complete the supports and best EHM and HHM and I want to keep playing it until I do, and then some.). Furthermore, my interest in and love for FE7 is what eventually led me to FEF.
I could wax poetic about this for a while longer, but let's move on to . . .
Worst: FE 11 (FEDS). I'm the type of tactician who doesn't want--no, refuses--to lose even a single unit, so when this game practically forces you to kill off half the cast or more, I already dislike it. But I set that aside, let my inner rage out, and started the slaughter. It was actually useful in that I could easily get units I was never going to use out of the way, but when a unit I was using got killed, I didn't feel like restarting half the time. Plus there is so little characterization--even of Marth--that it's almost like you're losing a robot, not a person. I saw no difference in the named units from the generic units that appear to fill out your ranks if you have too few characters--except you could get a free weapon off the generics. With no characterization and the difficulty a nuisance instead of a challenge, not even the flexibility the option of class changing offered could salvage this game (Yes, I can make an army of magic users now, for the most part, but I can be heavy on the mages in FE 7, 8, and 9). I've played through this once, and that was enough. Hopefully the next FE (remake) game will be better than this.

I still have yet to play all of them, so I can't say for a few of them, but...
Best: FE4. I kind of found deciding this one kind of hard because I also liked FE7 and 9 just as much. The reason why I chose this one over the other two is because of the characters in 4 were well done. I just feel that the love system in this game really had more of an impact compared to the Gba-era supports mainly because this effected what characters you got in the second generation. I also love that you have to look over a base while in chapter, it kind of adds to the challenge of the game compared to others in the series.
Overall, I just feel more the characters in this game than other ones in the series, as well as it seem more realistic in the sense that you need to need to be careful in everything that you do in game as it could mess you over big time.
Worst: FE11. Now I never played 1 or 3 so I'm not sure how those games are compared to the remake. From what I've seeing from shadow dragon is that they want you to kill off majority of your units to get any bonus content or characters. Not to mention the characters are not really that interesting and it really doesn't want me to listen to what any of them. The difficulty for it is more annoying more than anything else. Reclassing has some point to it but you could live without it. The only thing I could redeemable to this is wi-fi battles that I can play with friends that don't live in town.

Sweet!
Best: FE4. Hands down. I have fallen in love with it. Gotta love most of the units. 2nd Gen is the best for me, as those kids are godly. I also love kicking a** with Lakche. She is a great tank with the pairing AyraxLex
Worst: Overall, I would have to say FE6. No offense to Roy, or any of the other characters, but the game felt like a let down to me. There are also personal reasons here...almost always losing a unit at least once every few chapters...but the gameplay felt like a letdown to me.

I completely agree with you on the worst being FE 11. Nothing left to say. Kinda disappointing....
Best: Sacred stones. Look, what other Nintendo game (besides LoZ OOT's re-deads) has some sort of zombie thing in it? Enough said.

Best: FE7 Worst: FE11
FE4 was a close second for best, and FE8 was a close second for worst. 4 and 7 are certainly both fantastic, as they both possess a strong cast of characters, plots, and wonderful potential for replay (for different primary reasons, but the fact remains). The only reason I put FE7 above FE4 is because it seems more balanced overall.
As for the worsts, FE8 is absurdly easy, yes. Even on Hard Mode without ever touching a skirmish, tower, ruin, or arena (going Ephraim's slightly more difficult route, it's about as tough as HNM or so). And FE11 can technically be much more difficult with its five different levels of HM, but the characters in 11 have virtually no personality, and there were no supports available (and while the reclass system is a cool feature to play around with, it's highly illogical for the series I think). I think the characterization present in 8 makes it better than 11's higher potential difficulty.
