Poising as though he was putting on airs. Of course it was obviously fake. “Well being as impatient and impulsive as we are should we risk as soon as the second official date?” Arrin winked like he was sharing a conspiracy theory with Cari. He couldn’t help it she was just so much fun. “Still if we were to start such talks to soon what would the others of the tribe think?”

Cari giggled and butted Arrin with her head, aiming to send him off balance or toppling over into the thin snow. "Well half of them might look surprised. The other half-," she paused, looking thoughtful. "Well they might start to think, 'Finally, took them long enough!'" She laughed. "I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of them thought we were already together, since you joined the gang mostly cause I asked you."
Cari couldn't say, in hindsight, if that had been because Arrin had already like liked her, or if they were still in the strong friendship point. She could be remarkably oblivious to exact emotions sometimes, only being able to pick out the general tenor and going along with that.

Arrin was almost knocked off balance by Cari’s headbutt. He managed to save himself though it looked rather comical. His eyes widened what Cari said. “Some of them might think that we’ve been together this whole time? Really?” Unable to keep his balance from the position he saved himself before he fell over. Looking up at Cari from the side he was flabbergasted. “It’s true I did join the Yukon gang because you asked but we weren’t dating than.”
Not that that wouldn’t have been bad. I’ve always liked Cari since the moment I met her. I wouldn’t have minded entering the gang as a dating pair. If that had happened maybe I wouldn’t have had those jealous moments anytime any single male looked at her.

Cari couldn't help a snicker. "It would have been kinda funny if we had, considering when I brought you to the gang you were half frozen and I was carrying a kit. If I hadn't already been there for about a week I think it definetly would have gotten some raised eyebrows!" Never mind that Rosie didn't look like either her or Arrin; though extremely rare, there were cases of children taking on colors and patterns from grandparents, or even further back than that!

Now Arring was chuckling. “Not only that but you have always been checking up on myself and Rois. Even if they didn’t question the kit that seems to idolize and follow you around as though you really were her mother, they might have questioned you checking up on her like a mother would. Though Rois speaking to the elder about her mother probably helped to cut down those that might have thought about you being her mom.” Arrin rolled his eyes. Who knows what the other members of the tribe could have thought.. or even what they did think now.

Cari tilted her head a little, thinking. "Maybe her mom will visit one day, then, and help kill all the little rumors. Not that I mind, you don't have to be related by blood to be a family." Her brow furrowed into an adorable frown as she tried to remember any details Rosie had given her about her mother. "Or maybe not. I can't- Did she ever mention that she doesn't look much like her mom, or am I just making stuff up?"

For once Arrin was glad he spent a lot of time around Rois and less around the other members of the tribe. She had told him all about her family. “mm from what I remember of what she has told me. She looks like her dad mostly. Her sister looks like her mom though. Still there are similarities.. I know she mentioned some but I can’t remember them. ” He scratched behind an ear. “Still her mom visiting would be nice. I know she misses her mom at times. Even though a tribe is a family of another kind.”

"It would be nice to meet Rosie's momma." As she said that, another thought occured to her. Next to Cari, or perhaps even before Cari, Arrin knew Rosie best, and if he couldn't answer the question then no one could. "Hey, Arrin? Does Rosie get annoyed when I call her that?" Thus far she hadn't heard anything from the white vixen, but Rosie was nice; she might not say anything.

“No I don’t think she does. She has never said anything about it to me.” Arrin’s tail wagged. “She has kind of gotten used to it. At least that’s what I think.” Arrin stood up and nuzzeled Cari. “I think you made her feel more welcome by giving her a title all her own.” He stepped back still not being used to touching Cari like that. He blushed. “So ah it’s ok. At least I’m pretty sure it is.”

Cari chuckled softly, stepping forward to continue the nuzzle where Arrin left off. "Well that's good. I know I've got such an....exhuberant personality sometimes. Sometimes it's just hard not to get swept up in the moment and actually look around him sometimes."
Like right now, the exhuberance had taken a slight break. In it's place was some surprising....mushy emotions. Some of the thoughts surprised her; she had no idea she was so capable of romantic drivel, to use a phase her mom spouted often. Before she could really stop to think about it, one of the cornier phrases popped out of her mouth.
"Hey, Arrin? Can I keep you forever?"

Arrin leaned into Cari’s nuzzling. Her fur felt so soft and good. Her scent surrounded him and made him feel like he had wings and was flying. His heart was beating loudly but still every breath she took sounded like music to him. He heard and loved it. His eyes closed halfway in bliss.
To think he almost hadn’t been able to ask Cari. He had almost backed down and left things as they were. The fact he had stepped forward surprised him and made him so glad he had spoken up. Not being able to be with Cari like this. Well the thought of Cari away from him scared him. When she asked her question he grinned. “Of course. I am yours now and forever as long as you'll have me.”

Cari laughed softly. "You know," she began, in a voice as soft as her laught, "all the old songs and love stories that talk about forever say it's not at all. I might have to find a new word." Her body vibrated with her silent chuckles. She could understand what those songs meant; with Arrin around, forever really didn't seem long enough.
((But it's all so corny OTL Jinx brain should not be capable of producing such stuff!))

Arrin smiled at Cari. “That’s why I added the ‘as long as you’ll have me’ part. If it’s beyond forever I’m ok with that.” He chuckled with her. He was head over paws for Cari and nothing could change that. He was so amazed that someone as strong and powerful as her would take notice of him. Much less like like him. He grinned like a fool unable to stop himself.
(love is corny though. Trust me it makes you grin like a fool when you think of that special person and your friends tease you till you blush and and.. yeah that’s all I got.. Sorry I’m not all that romantic.. )

Cari grinned, the wide grin that radiated pure cheer and happiness that she was known for, and lightly butted her head against Arrin in an affectionate manner. "That's good, cause you know me. I just never give up when I've made up my mind!"
She lightly sighed, and looked a little regretful. "Hate to be the mood-killer, but it's gonna start getting dark soon." It was startling how low the sun was in the sky, for it didn't seem like they'd been out nearly that long! "We should scrounge up what we can and head back, before Nika tans our hides." She laughed at the mental image of their pink-furred Elder giving them a lecture.
((Pft! I don't need much teasing to blush at all! I've never seen myself blush, but I can feel it. Apparently my whole face goes bright red XD))

Wagging his tail like a idiot as she nudged him. “I know how stubborn you are. I also know better than to go against it.” He winked.
He words didn’t dampen the mood for Arrin at all. He was far to happy to be brought down by anthing even the idea of the pink dog-fox elder chewing him out. “I’ve got the samples we came out for matted in with my tail so I’m ready to go anytime. Don’t worry about being a mood killer. To me it just means I get to go back and tell Rois that you and I are a dating couple know. I wonder what she’ll say. Care to come with me? You know she’ll probably tackle you and tell you how lucky you are to be an official swing and have a boyfriend. Though which excites her more is probably not the later. I’m ready to go back if you are.”
(I blush pretty easily too. My face gets all red. and not a cute way. I look like a tomato.. My friend showed me in a compact mirror one day.. i was mortified. )
