When you die, you are complete When you live you must compete Can the light outway the dark Can you go and leave your mark... Kiyoshi Jino Your Prayers are heard Ebon fields --------------------------- What was Sefas doing? Was he actually trying to walk back on his own? He was badly injured from the looks of it. Kiyoshi sighed. He wished he was a healer, but he wasn't. Kiyoshi inhaled as he felt the joints in his back twist about until his wings returned to thier hiding spot. He didn't need them now that he was out of the tomb. Kiyoshi ran over to Sefas, to make sure that he didn't fall. Kiyoshi was under the impression that Sefas couldn't take too much more of anything without some sort of medical attention. Kiyosh wasn't sure how much more help he could give. His right arm was still close to useless, and his left arm was unbelievably tired from bringing Neysa through the hole, along with the fact that he had used that arm to fight off a bone creature, and that wasn't his dominant arm. Kiyoshi was really in an interesting position.
Kiyoshi was glad that he didn't have to hurt anything during that entire ordeal. He really didn't want to kill anything, no matter what. He would rather die than kill someone, even if that someone was a murderer or a psychotic beast. Kiyoshi had had enough with death. It was getting to be too much for him. His own death, his sister's deaths. Death was becoming his entire life, and he could do nothing about it. How had he become an angel when he murdered his own sister for a simple object? Part of Kiyoshi just weakened right there. he didn't feel right. ... If one day you reach you reach your goal Will you find that you are whole Go out now, complete your task An angel will do what you ask

So when I'm crying alone Yeah, when I'm cold as a dying stone
 Neysa
As Kiyoshi lifted Neysa up and out through the hole she though her heart was going to pound out of her chest. She was terrified to look down so she closed her eyes. Soon she was on the ground and she couldn't' be more grateful. She let out a sigh of relief and fought off the urge to kiss the ground. She always wanted to fly but this was different than what she had in mind.
Neysa looked up for a moment to seen Sefas hobbling toward them and and a frown appeared on her lips. "Sefas...you shouldn't be walking around. You need your rest" she said in a soft voice. She didn't want to see him push himself too hard. Even if she did close up his wounds, it wouldn't rid of all the pain..he would still be stiff and sore for a little while, not to mention how much blood he lost back in the cave. She approached him and gently placed her hand on his shoulder. "I don't think you should push yourself too much.."
She felt Shinobi's gaze on her and she quickly looked away from him. She still felt horrible about her uselessness in the fight. She was taught how to defend and attack but with everything that was going on all at once she was quickly overwhelmed. She had never been in a situation like that. To see Sefas go though such a pain what a horrible thing to watch and she did nothing to help them fight anything off. Other then healing, she didn't see much use in her presence.
Neysa turned to the man that had helped her out the tunnel. "Thank you, Kiyoshi. I don't don't think I would have made it out there without your help" she looked over at his shoulder. "Do you want me to try and heal the wound?" she asked. "I can probably close it up though it will leave some scaring....and there still will be some pain but you won't have to worry about it tearing open again.."

Sefas Minos Alchemist Location: Ebon Fields Sefas wobbled on, coughing and hacking heavily every few steps or so. However, it appeared that after each cough, his walking became steadier and more stable. It appeared that his Healing Potion was starting to take effect, even though it seemed to have a nasty side-effect in making parts of him either numb or in pain. He then looked over to Neysa and the Shinobi, grinning lightly at the woman that healed his injuries earlier.
"Hey, come on now... I'm not some old codger that you need to dote over." He snickered lightly in the face of his own haughty remark, as it almost made him sound older in and of itself.
"With your and the Shinobi's expertise and my healing potion, I think I'm enough on the mend that I can carry my own weight. I'd say it's about time I did so!" He snickered again as he walked through the Wastes... The Fields were vast, more so with his exhaustion setting in. Still, he began to see the nightmarish, twisting spires that made the City of Tenepolis... Never before had such a bizarre feature on the land appeared so inviting.
"Just a little further... Speaking of which, what do we tell that Captain lady?"

"Shinobi" XXX XXX XXX XXX静かな戦士"the Silent Warrior" Narinthe continued to walk directly next to Sefas. His eyebrow quirked as Neysa avoided his gaze yet again. What was bothering her so much? Perhaps she was still lingering on the night before, when she'd seen him come out from killing Akumi. Perhaps she was angry with hom over something--though she hadn't been acting it until recent. Coughing brought his attention back to Sefas. He hacked and coughed, and Shinobi was more poised than ever to catch him. However, it seemed the exact opposite of his expectations. With each cough or hack, his health would come back to him. Steadily, his gait was improving. As he joked and snickered, Shinobi nodded almost cheerily, patting him gently on the shoulder. He continued, and the Shinobi remained close, poised still. His eye had stopped following Sefas so closely, but rather, the vast wastelands. That Djinn was still around. It used so little of its powers, and one of the group could have died--if not for Neysa. He blinked at the praise of his expertise awkwardly. he felt as if was entirely in thanks to Neysa. The question Sefas asked dawned upon the masked man. He hadn't thought about it, himself. Then again, he never spoke. He, however, seemed to be the one aware of what the Prospector was. He would simply write a report to Galnesh explaining. The twisting spires of Tenepolis were on the horizon.

When you die, you are complete When you live you must compete Can the light outway the dark Can you go and leave your mark... Kiyoshi Jino Your Prayers are heard Ebon fields --------------------------- Kiyoshi stills tood by Sefas, there to help if he were to fall. Kiyoshi almost had his arms open and ready to catch when Sefas started to cough and hack, but it seemed that Kiyoshi really didn't have to. He was surprised to see that with each cough, the alchemist was becoming less crippled, and more able to fend for himself again. What a miraculous little healing potion that man had brought with him. It was clear to the angel that Sefas was quite intelligent, good at what he did, and was often well prepared. Kiyoshi smiled slightly. It was good to know that medical attention had just become less urgent for Sefas, though it was probably still required.
The woman's offer reached Kiyoshi's ears, and he turned his head to listen. She could heal his wound? Kiyoshi knew that his wound was stopping him from doing alot. Without his dominant arm, Kiyoshi was much less useful than he could have been. Kiyoshi smiled a bit more. "That would be nice if you could heal my arm. Even if it's not much, I'm sure a little healing could atleast speed up the process of getting my arm's strength back. You're offer is very kind." Kiyoshi nodded as he finished his response, and then he went back to looking ahead. He could see the bizarre twisting structural oddities that made up the city of tenepolis peeking out from the horizon.
Kiyoshi then reacted to what Sefas had asked. He really hadn't thought about what they would tell the captain of the grey militia. It hadn't seemed important during that whole ordeal. Kiyoshi sighed. "I guess it's best to just tell her exactly what happened. What else can we say?" Kiyoshi looked down. He didn't like that captain. In fact, he could almost claim to hate her, if he could claim to hate anyone. Kiyoshi sighed once more. He was nowhere close to forgiving her actions concerning Akumi. He hated how she ordered Kiyoshi's sister dead on sight. How did she didn't even know for sure if Akumi murdered anyone. She may have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe she tried to save him, but it didn't work. Maybe she did kill him, but it was all the actions of the demon that was posessing Akumi. It wasn't Akumi's fault. It wasn't his sister's fault. ... Sefas Minos Alchemist Location: Ebon Fields Sefas kept walking on, adjusting the belts wrapped around his body. His robe, torn and tattered in some regions, still flowed with each of his footsteps. His hair was particularly grimy and stringy, with the sweat and the blood coagulation in the strands. However, something did occur to him... He read something about a Demon like the one they faced before... A Monstrous Shapeshifter that also possessed tremendous magic power. But what was it called again? A Din? Jinn? Genie? It was hard to remember, but it was difficult to dispute whether THAT thing was malignant.
"Maybe we should tell her the specifics about that prospector... Something about it tells me that the people of Tenepolis have seen one of those things before, and I'm not outside of guessing there's more than one of them... I'd rather not get caught by surprise again." He said this as he still wobbled, his body still in a bit of pain but he was still able to walk in a normal stride. "But what really gets me is that something that powerful just ran away at the last minute. I can't think of many things that could scare something like THAT..."
The city of Tenepolis' twisted spires approached ever closer over the horizon. Although he knew full well that Tenepolis was not much safer than the Black Wastes they tread in all this time, there was something relieving about that which was vaguely familiar...

So when I'm crying alone Yeah, when I'm cold as a dying stone
 Neysa
Neysa let out a soft sigh. She still believe that Sefas should rest and not be walking around like he is but she wasn't going to bother him anymore about it. She fell silent as Kiyoshi and Sefas spoke and followed after them. Her gaze fell to the ground as she walked behind them. Her ears tuned into every word in the conversation. She hoped that they wouldn't run in to something like they did back in the tunnels again but she had a feeling there were more and worst things out there waiting for them. She shuddered at the thought. Right now, she just wanted to back to the city.
She heard Kiyoshi speak to her and she glanced up at him. She gave him a small smile and nodded. "If you don't mind...I'll heal you when we make it back to the walls of the city. I think right now, out in the open would not be the time and place for it but I do want to heal your shoulder so that you can use it again, Mister Kiyoshi. After all it's the least I can do for you after you helped me out of the tunnel. I don't think I could have gotten out of there on my own." Her gaze shifted towards the city ahead. Thank the goddess that it was in sight. She needed to rethink some things.

 ☀❛❛The Shadow Creature❜❜☀
◤』
『◢ The Shadow Creature had hardly watched the battle that had raged earlier. It had only cared about the blood. The succulent food it thrived on. It had quickly cleaned the caverns dry, its strange long limbs taking it quickly through the spaces. It had followed the party down through the caverns, quickly and greedily drinking any more blood that had been spilled. It was quite satisfied, but no amount of food could ebb away the deep hunger that haunted the creature's soul. It was not a hunger for blood, and it was not a hunger for a new form, no, it was the hunger that cursed all, the hunger of greed and want. Any bit of blood it could get its hands, if they could be called that, on was always gone within minutes or seconds, depending on the size of it. It had stalked the party noiselessly until the caverns broke into the wastes. The creature could sense the heat of the light, and hissed and screeched, backing away from this threat. It would not kill the creature, more of burn it. Its jet black shadowy skin attracted light like a moth attracted to a bug zapper.
The shadow creature screeched at the party as it walked away, its meals growing ever distant. The creature's screeches turned into wails of anguish, it knowing very well it would not be getting a meal like that soon. It almost seemed as if it was calling to them, urging them to come back. It ran in circles near the Tomb's opening, just barely out of the heat of the light. It stomped, making no sound as is ever shifting body only molded downward, then back its "normal" shape. It began to make low growling sounds, lurking back into the Tomb, but still facing the entrance.
Though the Shadow Creature knew it would not find a meal so big as that soon, it knew it wouldn't be so much time before another party would come, and that was when it would find its next feast. It was worn out from all the excitement though, and settled itself down, resting. It watched as the party became dots, walking to a far structure. The creature didn't know what it was, but it didn't need to. It let out another long, loud, echoing screech. Maybe curiosity would pull them back in.

Sefas Minos Alchemist Location: The Gates of Tenepolis Sefas exited the gates of the city behind the pompous jerk of an old man. He looked around and let out a soft sigh. "Well, hello again, Hell on Earth..." Watching the others follow the old man out into the Wastes, the gates would begin slowly closing... Never before had Sefas been so aware of the intricacies of the gate's closing... The sound of chains and gears clicked and jingled as the doors slowly began to join together... All of the members of the group were outside now, the old man was still waiting to bark orders... In the meantime, the sound of the gates echoing throughout the waste...
The clicking slowed down, and finally, the giant doors slammed together, seeming to echo throughout the entire wastes, like a cell door being closed in a prison, only they were being locked out rather than in...
They were vulnerable to the fiends of the Black Wastes again...

So when I'm crying alone Yeah, when I'm cold as a dying stone
 Neysa
Neysa followed behind Sefas quietly. At this point she has completely blocked out all orders the older man was staring off into the distance. She had an uneasy feeling coming back out here. Why did I agree to this again? she wondered. She let out a soft sigh and shook her head. I must be some kind of an idiot...All I can do is heal...sure it's useful at times but...in battle I'll get in the way. She jumped as she heard the gates close and lock behind her. Well too late now...she shook her head and glanced over at Kiyoshi for a moment and frowned. She still hadn't healed his arm and that could be stressful on him later.
Neysa stopped for a moment beside Kiyoshi and gently gripped on to his sleeve and gave it a little tug. "Let me see...I'll heal it before we get into any danger alright?" she suggested with a small smile. If the man with the hat had anything bad to say she wouldn't take it from him. If someone is injured then she will heal it before it gets any worse. "Let me see..It'll only take a moment....In case we run into something nasty out here, you won't be slowed down by it."

Harkel Aristocratic Scholar Harkel pulled out a map and examined it for a moment. He turned back to the group, beginning to address them. "Before we fully enter the Abyssal Plain, it is said that one of the ruined cities in the Ebon Fields did a great deal of trade with the country that developed the method for sealing- and defeating- the Demons that seem to lord over this part of the world." He pointed his finger on the map, tapping a place around the middle, between the Ebon Fields and Abyssal Plain. "From what my research has yielded, it's somewhere around here, next to one of the Tainted Springs. We can anticipate a Demon attack in any case... Not only will we be close to the border, but there's a decent chance that we'll be approaching one of the springs, one of the favorite places Demons seem to attack travelers. Be on your guard." He closed the map and put it away. "Right, onward!"

When you die, you are complete When you live you must compete Can the light outway the dark Can you go and leave your mark... Kiyoshi Jino Your Prayers are heard Outside Tenepolis --------------------------- It was sad to walk back into the darkness that was the black wastes. Why did Kiyoshi agree? He couldn't remember. The answer was completely beyond him. A soft sigh escaped his lips, and a shiver quickly passed over him. Sefas was injured in that place. What was to keep a similar incident from occuring again? Kiyoshi's little journey had been filled with nothing except death and pain. What had he gotten himself into? Perhaps it was a punishment. Then Kiyoshi really though about it. There was a second answer. He could try and make peace. maybe through his actions, the demons and the people of Tenepolis could be allies, rather than enemies. They could work together to fight off something even more horrible, if something that bad ever appeared. They could work together to prosper. That was what Kiyoshi was doing. He was going to use his journey to create peace. The mask had lost it's emotional weight for the moment. Nothing was more important than stopping other people from feeling what Kiyoshi had felt. Sealing this threatening demon may be important, but Kiyoshi had reaslized that he was not there to seal a demon, but to kill an even greater, intangible monster.
Neysa's voice interupted Kiyoshi's train of thought. He looked over to her, and saw that she was bringing up the healing again. "I guess that would help. I'd be much more valuable with the use of both arms." He siled weakly again. His smiles had stopped having sincerity to them. He couldn't bring up true joy. Just some sort of fleeting, mediocre happiness. It was sad that the best he could do was that sad excuse for glee. "So yes, it's fine if you heal my arm now."
Right then, the voice of the scholar sounded. "Is he annoying anyone else?" Kiyoshi asked very quietly, to avoid any abuse from the old man. His smile faded as he continued. "I have a feeling someone is probably wishing the worst on him. I just hope that wish isn't granted." Kiyoshi shook his head. What awaited them on this little quest? ... If one day you reach you reach your goal Will you find that you are whole Go out now, complete your task An angel will do what you ask

Sefas Minos Alchemist Location: The Gates of Tenepolis Sefas snickered at Kiyoshi's remark about him getting annoying, muttering in turn, "You have no idea..." He looked over to the old man, who started to lead the group down south, the vast terrain of the Ebon Fields beginning to unfold before the others in the group. The terrain began to get damp and swampy, the occasional springs popping up in the distance... The journey was taking several hours, though whether it was day or night was impossible to tell here... The black clouds overhead covered the world in a perpetual shadow that never ceased... The same sort of shadow for which the people native to this land are named.
Off in the distance, there was a ruin rising over the horizon... What could barely pass for the collapsed ruins of an ancient city. For those who know, this was certainly one of the many dwellings the Shadows had in times before their civilization was wiped out by war...

"Shinobi" XXX XXX XXX XXX静かな戦士"the Silent Warrior" Narinthe walked in the far rear, behind everyone else. The gates before him revealed the cold, inhospitable wastelands of the South. His eye was void of any emotion like usual, though his brow furrowed in the slightest at the sight. As he peered out this way, Sefas let out a soft sigh, and his words perfectly reflected the Shinobi's own thoughts.. Here they were again, now joined by a bat-like creature, and an annoying, pompous scholar. And he would be stuck with these people for quite some time. For a second, he'd wished he had never even accepted the first mission.. If he hadn't he'd have been well on his way to Aden. He let the thoughts escape his mind, focusing on the task at hand. The gate closed behind them loudly, as things clicked into their former, and usual position, locking them out of the somewhat comforting city behind them. Neysa was behind Sefas, and he blinked at her as she glanced at Kiyoshi, a frown upon her face. For a moment, he'd pondered why she looked so displeased with him, before she stopped by him, tugging on the sleeve that bore the stains of blood, tattered around a wound. It came to him, that she wanted to heal it, just as she spoke her desires to do so. He pondered how long the process would take, before letting his crimson eye fall upon Harkel: he'd probably bark at her to stop before she even began to get started. As his eye landed upon Harkel, he drew a map out and looked upon it's contents. He turned to the rest of them, his back no longer to the Shinobi. He spoke, and the demon listened, though his arms eased into being crossed against his chest again-- he was just comfier that way. He resisted a nod at the man's words, he knew that to be fact. At least this scholar knew something, although the Shinobi knew this as well. He pointed at a location upon the map, drawn in between the Plain and the Ebon fields. He nodded once, slightly, at the expectations of a demon attack. However, as he nodded, he let his head go downcast, his eye closed. Like this, the man closed the map, and spoke, barking them to go onward, as if the dangers mentioned just now were nothing. For a moment, visible irritation sparked another discreet furrow of his eyebrow. Relief was brought to him as Kiyoshi agreed to allow Neysa to heal his wound. For starters, what the woman said held truth: it would be dangerous to lead a wounded man into a place like this. there were demons lurking in ever hillside, it would feel like. His eye danced to peer at him, his head raising upright again, as he heard his question to the rest of the group regarding Harkel. The man's eye widened slightly, amusement showing within it's demonic depths. He seemed to hold back a laugh at it, as he added onto his question with a shake of his head. It seemed everyone was growing weary of Harkel, and they still had a long way to go with him.. Sefas's snicker lit his ear, and as he commented, he held back his own snickers, raising a gloved finger at Sefas as if to agree with him in particular. They walked through the stretching lands of the dead South. His red eye's faint glow streaked with his movements, as he peered in all directions, constantly searching for signs of others, or perhaps an attack from hiding demons. However, his movements were not laden with fear so much as they were alert awareness. This place was where the was born and where he grew up. Though, all the same, this was not where he grew up: Back then it was a fertile land, he watched it degrade down to this.. He looked forward upon the horizon. The ruins were forming, and his eye narrowed upon them as if focusing. This place used to be.. teeming with the race of the Shadow. Its state reflected upon what had happened in the same way that the black, dusty ground below them did, or the deathly waters: War had ruined the South.

Izual followed close to the group he'd been standing with, seeing no other choices in his favor. He'd stay close to them, and hopefully all would go well. He wasn't entirely sure what he was being dragged into, or how this had even happened but there was no backing out of it now. He was too far in, and had already followed.
Besides that, sticking around at the city might get him into trouble, or even worse. His crimson eyes traveled all around them as they walked along, bat ears twitching in all directions toward any sources of sound.
"Demon attack?' repeated Izual, his tone wavering. His eyes widened, and he shuddered at the thought. He couldn't defend against some ravenous, vicious demon. It'd tear him to shreds! He strayed close to Shinobi, the man with so much of his face covered up to the world.
