Strait Jacket Girl Felyn Strait Jacket Girl Felyn Strait Jacket Girl Felyn Iolanthe tried to duck and roll as yet another boulder came flying her way, but it looked like her evade skill was wearing thin. She managed to get the majority of her body out of harms way, but the boulder hit her pretty roughly on her arm mid-roll. She instantly froze, squeezing her eyes and mouth shut to prevent a nasty slur of curses.
"I'm not your cousin!" she called back at the yeti, pushing herself to her feet with her good arm. She scrambled for a piece of the newest splintered boulder, picking it awkwardly as she tried to keep her left arm still. She drew back and threw it, aiming for the yeti's head so maybe it would just shut up.
HP: 19 Damage Done: 2 Once more the Yeti roared only this time the shard nicked him above the eye cause him to begin bleeding blurring the vision of the one eye. "YOU WILL PAY!!! YOUR RESISTANCE IS FUTILE" He Flung another boulder carelessly that fell and rolled before it met with his opponent. HP: 2DAMAGE: 1 Iolanthe, too busy cradling her arm, was caught off guard as a boulder came rolling at her. Rolling boulders were easier to dodge than flying ones, but she still stepped out of the way a little too slow and it rolled right over her pinky toe. With another grimace, she bit her lip, then shot an angry glare in the yeti's direction.
She scooped up a handful of snow to try and smack it in the face, but it was poorly formed with her single-handed ability and fell to pieces as soon as it was airborne.
HP: 18 Damage Done: 0 "Hur hur hur, Is that really all you can do cousin. Hur hur hur, I'm most ashamed to call you my cousin" More entertained by the rolling of the boulder reminded him of bowling, so he rolled another boulder HP: 2No Damage Iolanthe was ready when the next boulder rolled her way, stepping out of the way in time. She let out a sigh of relief, but knew that this stupid thing wasn't going anywhere unless she could deal with him properly.
Reaching down to grab another piece of one of the splintered boulders, she pulled back and let loose - only she slipped and stumbled on the icy ground under her feet as she did so and it pretty much dropped right in front of her while she was fighting to keep her balance.
HP: 18 Damage Done: 0 "Hur Hur Hur, I'll get you." Agitated by his gutter ball he tried once more aiming for a strike. HP: 2No Damage Iolanthe saw the next boulder running her way, but she was still standing in a rather icy patch of snow. As the boulder rolled her way, she tried to step out of its path, only to slip and fall.
Now growing irritated and tired of the situation, she just scrambled for another handful of snow. She tried to form it into a better ball than last time and despite her injured arm, it actually flew! Sadly, it kind of just flew right to the yeti's feet and landed harmlessly in the snow.
"Jack damn it!" she groaned again, growing increasingly frustrated with herself.

"I see that. The one made of snow looks somewhat yummy...the other one I'd actually like to ride or cuddle up to for more warmth to be honest. I don't think I'd like to fight either of them." Stating this, his eyes on Eracs.
"What about you Eracs?" Wanting to know his friends opinion/thoughts on the matter. He had seen the things attacking. He wouldn't mind getting into a fight with a snow man...he'd eat it. As for the furry thing...well he wasn't sure if he'd fight it or try and cuddle up to it for warmth....that would be a tough one really.

"Don't give up, Iolanthe!! You can take it down!" Though shouting was generally not a good idea, she was a bit far from him and given how much noise that stinky fur ball was making, she might not have heard him otherwise. It wasn't hard to tell she was getting tired of the stupid thing not going away, but he knew she could handle it. She handled her tree rather well, so this wouldn't stop her either.
Now, encouraging anyone in anything other than fashion design was incredibly odd to the Envy demon, but he was doing a lot of odd things this trip. And there was no reason to not cheer on a team mate whose been there. Didn't seem right. Against these evil things, the students of Halloween had to stand together.. or something. He really hoped his parents never caught wind of this... urgh the hell he'd have to deal with because of their narrow-mindedness.

The raum's face went white as he stumbled down the path, getting caught in snow drifts in his rush, brain not thinking clearly enough to realize he could've just flown down to the marid. He'd broken his promise to her. BADLY. He'd let her get hurt. And the state of her clothes was appalling, she would surely freeze to death. As her fight concluded, he finally reached her, sinking to his knees and cradling her, brushing hair out of her face and wiping blood from her skin, a panicked expression on his own features.
Nononononoonono. Yaya couldn't get hurt. He'd given his word. PROMISED. He'd let her down, let down one of the only people in his life that mattered to him. He was an utter failure. Guilt came over him in powerful waves, and he shucked off the warm wrap he kept around his shoulders and body, pushing the coat she was wearing off for a moment to wrap it around her for added warmth. He then all but tore off his longcoat, leaving him in his turtle-neck like undershirts, the black button-up on top of the white dresshirt. He wrapped that too, around the marid, and then replaced the coat she'd been wearing before, stowing away the giftbox that had tumbled towards her in the folds of the jacket she wore. Three layers ought to do SOME good for her. He shivered at the sudden influx of cold to himself, but he still had two layers. He'd live. It would be much more uncomfortable, but he'd live. He was hardier than she was.
"Eir, heal her....." he prayed softly as he scooped her up, his wings curling around them both as he carried her back up the path gingerly, the hand closest to her face brushing her cheek with his fingertips. He kept a stone cold expression as he returned up the hill to join the others, but on the inside he wanted to break down and cry. Hadiyya. HIS marid. She didn't deserve this. As he looked towards Iolanthe and the battle the girl was still in, he wondered if he'd made the wrong decision and had led these poor students to their downfall. He prayed he hadn't.
"Loki, be still on this day, I beg of you," he whispered softly, his face turning skyward before he came back to the group. He did not look to Corbin, as the panicked look on the Wraith's face suggested he would. Instead, he simply held the marid tightly, turning to watch Iolanthe. His expression turned cold with barely-contained and quiet fury.
"Slaughter it, Iolanthe," he demanded coldly, his eyes dangerously heated while his voice stayed low, as if he could physically send his energy to the girl to help with that little extra boost to win. He knew he couldn't, but if looks could kill, the Yeti would surely have collapsed and shriveled up right there. Snapping his head over to Corbin and the demons he'd just been introduced to, he spoke with the cold determination and authority of a general.
"Tighten the ranks. When we're done here we're going to keep moving, we'll rest in a bit. Do NOT use your bells unless ABSOLUTELY necessary, Corbin. Hadiyaa has them as well, so do not be afraid to tell the others no if they have a moment of weakness.........I am counting on you," he intoned, his voice growing slightly warmer, and his expression softened the tiniest of fractions, if only to reassure his team he was not angry at them. They had done nothing wrong. The fault lied with him.
Not only had he let Yaya down, but he'd all but abandoned his group to go get her. No. The fault lay solely with himself.

Eracs nodded as his friend spoke. "Warmth? Isn't this snow stuff cold though?" Well, he supposed it was cold. Being made of straw it was kind of difficult to tell. "They seem strong, I don't want to fight snow beats at all..."
"But if I do, you can eat it!" He watched the girl who was fighting.

She dodged easily out of the way of the last tossed boulder, watching it land and splinter next to her feet. With her lips set in a grim line, she picked up a rather hefty chunk with her good arm. Corbin watched anxiously as Braum carried over the injured Marid, unable to give a proper response to Livi at that time. Even more, the Raum was quite intense and the Wraith knelt before he and his injured ghoul. He was not to use his bells except in emergencies, allowed to say no... That was someone of a relief, something Corbin could do with hearing and his posture relaxed somewhat, wings splaying limply on the snow.
"Are your wings injured, Braum?" the girl needed warmth, that was clear. None of them had dressed for the occasion, not being told until it was too late what their destination was, and she needed to be cared for. "If not, wrap her up," he paused, scrutinizing the small bandages that lingered from the train crash "Or I can."
Corbin's wings were far from the size of Braum's but they were of the same feathered consistency. If she curled up, he could keep her arm and he was more than happy to help in any way he could, especially if he needed to keep away from using the bells as much as possible.
Jack forbid he get into a fight now.

As the raum reached her side Yaya finally let herself fall. Succumbing to the overwhelming waves of tiredness that crashed against her. He pulled her into his lap, and she let her eyes fall closed, if only just for a few peaceful moments. Lids fluttering uncomfortably as her coat was pushed opened and what little warmth she'd had trapped there seeped away, replaced by bitter cold. And then warmth. Not just warmth, but the insanely comforting scent of old blood, feathers and something a little sickly that she knew to be Braum's toxins. Not just a single layer of warmth and enveloping scent, but two, plus her borrowed coat. Bleeding, bruised, and too tired even to walk another step, but she felt infinitely better. "Braum.."
As He lifted her in his arms she curled against the front of his body, a single small hand curling into the fabric of his shirt as the other sought the edge of the wrap at the core of her layers. Drawing it up to cover nose and mouth before letting her head rest against the curve of his shoulder.
For a moment or two, the time it took him to rejoin the group of students and call out some much needed orders, she let herself rest. Sinking into the comforting warmth of the borrowed clothing and silky brush of feathers, his wings pressing in against shins and shoulders. But as he fell quiet again she blinked, lids cracking open so she could watch the other ghoul in her battle, as well as looking over the faces of the gathered students. There were few familiar faces, but she didn't have names to place with them. Admittedly, she wasn't sure she cared just then. She had Braum with her. That was enough.
Later, when she was feeling better, she would care.

"Yeah, the snow is cold. But those furry things look warm honestly." Shrugging his shoulders he smiled to his scarecrow friend.
"Thank you, if you get into a fight with one of those snow...things." The ones that looked like stacked balls of snow. "I will enjoy eating it." And digging at it...it seemed like something good to pounce and dig, a sudden and odd thought really.

Iolanthe watched the yeti retreat with pride, sneering slightly at its stupid retort. Christmastown seemed to be lacking in the intelligence department between drunk trees, smoking snowmen, and easily confused yeti. "Good riddance," she murmured as it finally left.
Much like with the tree before it, she saw the yeti drop a present. After that long battle she thought she more than deserved it. Thus, making her slow way towards it, she scooped up the present with her good arm, then went back to stuff it in the bag she had dropped earlier.
"The creatures here are definitely stronger," she said finally, once she was back in distance of her group. Her eyes drifted to the newcomer that had been ambushed, frowning in sympathy. She had no time to be overly concerned about her though, because her arm was throbbing and felt like it might have actually been broken. Moving it hurt and the skin was swelling up in a giant purple bruise. She grimaced then and shifted to hold it up with her free arm, trying to lessen the pain that was shooting through it in waves and spikes. Her foot hurt a little, but she was pretty sure it was just bruised, it didn't hurt nearly as bad as her arm.
She was also extremely tired. The fight had taken a lot out of her and now that the last of the adrenaline from her triumphant comeback was abating, she felt weariness settling into her sore bones. Finding that the group was stationary for at least a moment, she sat down on the snow - too tired to even care for the cold and wet, especially since her clothes were already pretty thoroughly soaked from her missteps in battle.

It didn't take a specialist to know the raum was furious, worried and upset. His emotions showed clearly in every line of his body, his face and his voice. Seeing how he cradled the ghoul to him also showed Livi easily that she meant a lot to him. However, though he felt bad, he hoped Braum would keep it together. In this place, everyone was going to get hurt. No matter how much one may wish otherwise, it was a reality they all had to face. Unless they were supremely lucky somehow, no one would trudge home unscathed from this place. And if Braum lost his cool here, then he worried about the rest of the trip. If it got worse and he got this bent out of shape over her getting hit in the face (though no one should hit a lady ever), the demon was concerned. But he remained tight lipped about the whole thing and only hurried over to see how bad it was.
This place was cold and the mountains didn't seem to like them being there, so he was getting very concerned for the ghouls. There was no way to back out now, but that didn't mean they needed to suffer for it. Though, why were the monsters just attacking the girls so far? It didn't make a lot of sense. Stopping by Corbin, Braum and the ghoul, he smoothly just took off his jacket to place over her when he noticed Braum had it covered. Good. Least his head was somewhat working. "Keep her as warm as possible til she can wake up. Braum, you think you can carry her? It's best we get moving as soon as possible..."
From the sounds of it, Iolanthe had won her battle, so he shoved himself up and went over to check on her. To see how she was fairing. "Good work. That thing seems to have horrid eyesight..." The cold was brisk and his wings and other body parts complained, but he'd deal. It was what boils did. "You all right?" His eyes flicked over her carefully to seek out any damage. "It didn't harm you, did it?" Though, seeing how cold and wet she was, he was glad he noticed his almost mistake and shifted to put his jacket over Iolanthe. "Here. Gotta keep warm in this weather." He smiled a bit as he made sure it stayed put. It had a few holes but nothing bad and it had to be warmer than what she had currently. He could deal with some cold.
((THERE! Now it makes sense to me >< ))
