So when I'm crying alone Yeah, when I'm cold as a dying stone
 Neysa
Neysa frowned when the guard told her to return to her her room. She was curious to what was going on and where had Shinobi run off to. What was going exactly? What were all of these soldiers doing out here and what the hell was the DOP? She didn't think now was the time to ask away. "Well thats not fair..." she mumbled as she followed behind Sefas. Right now she did not want to push against armed men. She wasn't worried about Shinobi, he seemed to be the type that could wrestle a bear or two down to the ground without breaking a sweat.
She followed Sefas back into his room and watched him check his vials. "Horrible happen?" she asked with a raise of a brow. "I don't know if I want to see this...is it something I have to hide under the bed?" she said with a grin. "Sooo this is what you wanted that metal for?" she asked. "What exactly is in that anyway?"

 Sefas Minos Alchemist
Sefas tied his robe tighter, looking around... "I'm not sure what's going on here..." He then listened to some of the things going on in the other room... He raised his eyebrows again and looked outside, noticing all the talk about Demons. He then went back inside. "Yeah... This sounds like something we don't want to deal with."
He closed the door with Neysa inside the room, then noted the metal. "See, Enferantite is noted by craftsmen for its flexibility and its sturdiness... And Enchanters know that it's easy to have it channel and hold magical energy... However, it has interesting Alchemical properties as well. See, it has a great deal of internal energy... Energy that can be used in the pursuit for an Alchemist's ultimate goal. That being, the ability to transform one substance into another..."
He inspected the Enferantite, then looked at Neysa. "I think our military friends know what they're doing..."

So when I'm crying alone Yeah, when I'm cold as a dying stone
 Neysa
Neysa sighed and nodded to him. He was right she didn't think she did want to deal with it. Though she did want to know what was going on. It started to pick at her but she managed to ignored it for now. Perhaps she would ask Shin- Neysa shook her head to that thought. She didn't think she could get a full story out of him. Perhaps a shrug or something along those lines and that was really no help to her.
She walked over to his bed and sat down. Neysa listened to him talk about the Enferantite. She titled her head to the side and raised a brow. "Alright. Mister Sefas...how do you turn one substance in to another?" she asked as she looked over at the metal. Her eyes watched him curiously as she wondered what exactly he was going to do with it. Though her thoughts started to drift off toward the what was going to happen tomorrow. "Uhm Sefas? How do you feel about going back out into the wastes?" she asked with a frown.

Sefas Minos Alchemist Sefas began to fiddle with the metal, pulling out several other vials and pouring them into a single flask... Afterwards, he attempted to chip off a piece of the Enferantite, though it was slow going... He was hammering a chisel into it numerous times, though it almost never seemed to break the metal... It would be several hits before it even left a dent. Said quite a few reassuring things about the structure they were in, though. It was practically made of the stuff.
"What you asked is the big question, Miss Neysa... Alchemists have been trying to figure out that one for as long as Alchemy has been around." He continued chiseling away, nearly getting into the metal. "The general idea is that it requires a great deal of energy to turn something like, say, Iron into Silver. Where you get that energy though is a mystery..." He chiseled on and on, finally getting a chip out of the metal! "Magic doesn't work for it, since it's a very transient energy source and generally, it can only dwell in living matter, or at least matter that was once living. Most of us say that the secret lies in Mercury or something like that... Some of those fools are crazy enough to say that human fluids all mixed together can make a little person!" He snickered to himself. "Myself, I find that Enferantite is a proven way to get that kind of energy... The fact that it works so well with magic, which would normally have a hard time dwelling inside a non-organic medium, suggests that it can work well with mostly any kind of energy source, and may likely be able to fuel Alchemical Reactions, particularly the kind that involves transmutation... That's what I want with this metal."
He then stopped chiseling, the grim question rising to his mind at last. What about going back into the wastes, indeed... "Well... I can't say it's a pleasant thought... I had to travel through that region they call the Ashen Wings. That wasn't even remotely enjoyable... The Ebon Fields, as they call it, is apparently demon-infested... And then there's those tunnels they asked us to investigate. I don't know if they're linked to that cavern system in the mountains, but if you ask me, something that's called a 'Tomb' and isn't actually a burial ground is just rife with trouble..." He sighed heavily. "That having been said, while it's kind of frightening... There's something morbidly fascinating about it too. I mean, this place is straight out of a dream... A Nightmare, maybe, but it's just so surreal that you can't help but look further into it..." He smirked and shrugged to himself. "At the very least... This will be interesting."

In the dark, a horror sounds The devil comes to do his rounds If you live to expectation He'll grant you regeneration... Akumi Jino Your Evil Calls --------------------------- The white haired man's words struck her. If her eyes were blue, she'd be his sister. Her eyes were blue once. And if that made her the man's sister, that meant that the white haired man was Kiyoshi. If Kiyoshi was still the same person he was years ago, Akumi would be able to fool him very easily. "This poor woman had blue eyes. She was sad, and pathetic, and longing for her brother. She kept yelling out for a man named Kiyoshi to help her." Akumi smiled, hoping that her words would affect the white haired man.
Akumi looked away from the white haired man as she awaited a response. Her gaze now fell apon the military captain. Akumi, now aware that she had two blades to her neck, decided to taunt the captain, as foolish as it was. Perhaps that would allow the enchantment blocking her magic to wear off. "That look in your eyes is so cruel, and enraged. You're like a lion who's family is in danger. You'll stop at nothing to kill the dangerous creature, even if it costs the life of someone else. I wouldn't be surprised if you accidentally killed this beast who's holding me here, or the man that stands in front of me. Perhaps you've become so afraid of my kind that you think they're one of me?" She chuckled as she started deep into the red eyes of the captain. "Actions like that would make you as vile as the creatures you vow destroy. Stooping down to the level of a demon, you might as well sell your soul to the darkness and become one yourself." ... When you die, you are complete When you live you must compete Can the light outway the dark Can you go and leave your mark... Kiyoshi Jino Your Prayers are heard --------------------------- This poor woman had blue eyes? It wasn't possible. Then again, the demon knew his name. It had to be that the demon had posessed his sister. there was no other way. "Akumi?" he asked, trying to reach out to the heart of the woman trapped in the demon. He needed to have his sister back. He had felt so much guilt. For her to be alive, it would be life altering. Kiyoshi looked deep into the red eyes, trying to find a sign that his sister was lost in there somwhere.
"You can't kill her!" Kiyoshi pleaded. "There could be a perfectly good human in there, lost at the mercy of a demon. We could purge the demon, or something, but we can't just murder her!" He looked back up at the captain, whose eyes were menacing, unwilling to give up the kill. It waasn't evil, or cruelty, but revenge. Atleast, that's what it looked like to Kiyoshi. ... Captain Salnesh Of the Gray Militia The Captain didn't seem to be fazed by the Demon's taunts... She knew she was a killing machine. She had to be, for the sake of her people, and no amount of taunting or begging would stop her. "This isn't murder, it's extermination." She swung her sword continually, staring down the Demon... It was clear she'd have absolutely no scruples with killing her. She was a soldier. When the order was given, she was to take that life and ask no questions... And this life, she was more than happy to extinguish. There was much more to this though... The Demons have caused her some kind of personal pain, and there was also that simple thought in her head as she was in her soldier-discipline mode; If she didn't kill the Demon, it would kill her. It was that simple. She only barely addressed the white-haired foreigner and readied to make a killing blow...
"Do not judge me too harshly. It is they who started this game... It's kill or be killed. It's live... Or die. And I'm not choosing the last one." She raised her sword and thrust it toward the Demon in a stroke to pierce the fiend's heart...!

In the dark, a horror sounds The devil comes to do his rounds If you live to expectation He'll grant you regeneration... Akumi Jino Your Evil Calls --------------------------- Akumi had less then a second to act. A blade was going right for her heart, and she needed to protect herself. In one fluid movement, she moved her throwing knife, and blocked the blade with the flat of her knife. Much to her dismay, the motion moved her a bit too far backwards, and she felt a small cut in her neck. At the moment, it was like a small paper cut, but Akumi was sure that it could become worse very quickly. "That was close." She noted, looking down at the attack she had just barely halted.
Something else that surpised Akumi was that she hadn't been decapitated yet. There were two blades at her neck, and the demon holding them could have easily moved them and killed Akumi. For some reason he didn't. Akumi started to think that maybe the blades were there merely for intimidation, and not for offense. Akumi thought it best to remain on the defensive until she was out of her interesting predicament. ... "Shinobi" XXX XXX XXX XXX静かな戦士"the Silent Warrior" Narinthe listened to the others, as he stayed perfectly still. His crimson eye shifted to the faces as they spoke, or in Akumi's chase, the back of her head, her neck encircled by his blades. He watched the man's eyes as he pleaded, though shutting his eye not to look. He was about to kill what was his sister. Then, he remembered something. Did the man not mention a mask? Perhaps she had the other half of it. Peering about her form for a moment, the Captain attempted to plunge her black blade into the demon's heart. Narinthe remained still. his solidity phasing, as if the blade would go through him and do nothing. But as the flat blocked it, he still smelled blood. Looking down, it was his rear kama whom did it. Small strands of hair fell to the ground as well. There wasreally nothing the Shinobi could do without either upsetting someone else, or himself. He hadn't been ordered to kill her yet, but the Captain was intent upon it, h may as well take that as an order. But the White haired man continually pleaded, trying to gain his sister back. The man's moral code was being prodded at, he had no answer. However, he pulled the kama in closer, cutting the front of her neck slightly, and nestling the back kama into the wound. He could feel the frontal blade resting against her larynx, barely having not sliced in. She'd be in pain, but she wasn't near death yet. Yet it'd feel like he was intent upon slowly killing her..

In the dark, a horror sounds The devil comes to do his rounds If you live to expectation He'll grant you regeneration... Akumi Jino Your Evil Calls --------------------------- Cries of pains sounded in the room. Akumi felt the blades cutting into her neck. What was she to do now. She had no hope of getting out of this one. Her breathing was labored, and she still barely held back another blade with a throwing knife. Her only hope now was that Kiyoshi would feel guilty and try and save her, but not even that could follow thorugh. "I've already died once." She explained slowly, in a pained voice. "I don't want to experience that again." She started to feel her magic returning to her, but it was a little too late for that.
Was there a way for Akumi to escape death other then guilt tripping her brother? Her strength was not enough to match the masked demon holding her. Her magic was not enough to stop him, and her speed was not enough to flee from him. Plus, there was the military captain still there with her blade destined for Akumi's heart. The only option was to use Kiyoshi. "It's sad that when this is done, I'll have been killed twice by my brother. Once by his very own hands, and the second time from his neglect." ... When you die, you are complete When you live you must compete Can the light outway the dark Can you go and leave your mark... Kiyoshi Jino Your Prayers are heard --------------------------- Every word out of Akumi's mouth made Kiyoshi feel more and more guilty, and caused him more and more grief. She was right. If he let her die, it would be like killing her himself. A tear rolled down his cheek, and he felt that he had to save his sister. "Please, I beg you... Let her go. She's my sister... She's being posessed by a demon, and that's it. Nothing else. I can purge the demon from her, and she can be human again. It'll be like nothing ever happened. Let her go!"
Extended his arm outwards, and a faint glow began. It grew until suddenly, it falshed and it was gone. Now, in Kiyoshi's hand was a spear. The shaft was of reinforced steel, and the tip was a shaped diamond. "This is the last time I'll ask... Let Akumi go. Please, let my sister go." He frowned, and stared deep into the eye of the masked man. There may have been no way to pursade the captain, but there had to be a way to reach the masked man. ... Captain Salnesh Of the Gray Militia When Salnesh's blade had been deflected, she pulled back immediately, as though to avoid getting caught up in another attack. She kept her blade swinging in a fluid, figure-eight motion as she circled her quarry... She needed a way to resolve the situation and fast, and the white-haired interloper was only going to make things worse... He was far too soft to be involved in this. She held out her left hand, the black aura beginning to surround it again, as if light and heat around it was being sapped from the air... Salnesh believed now was a good time to put one of the inherent qualities she had as a Shadow to use.
While still swinging her blade, Salnesh ran around Kiyoshi, her left hand held out and then grabbing Akumi's right arm. The Shadow trait she was using was the siphoning off of Energy, particularly magical energy, and since she was grabbing onto Akumi, she'd be absorbing the Demon's magic... If she was indeed possessed, she'd eventually have the Demon lose control and be overpowered by the original personality, and if she wasn't possessed, Salnesh just added a great deal of power to her own disposal. Either way, she won. As she absorbed more of the Demon's energy, black energy would arc up her skin and sink into her body, and with each arc entering her body, her muscles tensed, became more toned and larger. Blood vessels started bulging throughout her body, seeming to indicate that she was using the absorbed energy to augment her physical being... She knew she shouldn't stay grabbing the creature for long, though. She didn't want to be vulnerable to a counterattack... Instead, she waited for the monster's reaction to having its energy drained.
"If she IS possessed... The Possessor's not going to like this... One... Bit..."

In the dark, a horror sounds The devil comes to do his rounds If you live to expectation He'll grant you regeneration... Akumi Jino Your Evil Calls --------------------------- In one sense, the captains actions hindered Akumi's attack, however, it greatly aided her escape. Akumi felt her energy being drained, but she still had enough energy for a bit of a disguise. She knew what the captain was trying to do. If Akumi was posessed, which she wasn't, the so called possesor would be weakened, and no longer be able to keep control over the body. Akumi knew that she would have to emulate this event in order to decieve the people in the room. It was her only remaining chance to be free. Kiyoshi had definately started her escape, and now, the military captain was putting Akumi's plan in motion.
Red eyes began to flash between red and blue, and wings began to spasm. Akumi's movements were abit too much, as she moved just a smidge to close the the front kama. She moaned in pain as he pressed into her throat. The flashing of the eyes slowed as Akumi weakened, and as she struggled to get control. The flashing quickened again, and the wings started to spasm once more, though this time with less harsh movement. As they flailed about eratically, Akumi had them slowly shrink, and disappear. As the wings slowly vanished, Akumi controlled the flashing of her eyes so that the iris remained blue longer than it remained red. The amount of time that the blue show increased while the amount of time the red showed decreased. his continued until the eyes stopped showing red completely, and the wings on Akumi's back were competely gone. to add to the effect, Akumi blinked rapidly in an attempt to show that the so called possesion was lifting. As she ceased blinking, Akumi began to pant rapidly, as to show that she had gone through something terrible and difficult. After all that was done, she performed the final act of her little ruse. She looked around the room innocently, until her eyes fell apon the body of the dead soldier. She let out a horrible, terrified scream. Akumi was exhausted, after all, she had most of her energy drained, and really used up almost the last of her magical energy to create the disguise. As to maker things more difficult for her, she was much weaker in her disguise. ... Captain Salnesh Of the Gray Militia Salnesh saw the reaction and decided that she should finish absorbing all the energy she could until the possessor was dead... Sure, that might kill the body, but it was an acceptable casualty of war. She gripped her arm tighter, continuing to sap out energy to devour the creature's reserves... Salnesh wasn't about to let up just because it looked like the monster was down. Demons were trickier than that... She should know. She's been fighting them for 15 years and knew a good deal of their tricks... Trying to curry sympathy from the weak-willed and the faint of heart, fooling people into thinking it's defeated when its only defeat came when it was destroyed. The creature would get no such sympathy or foolishness from her...
Salnesh's bulk increased significantly, gripping the creature's arm tighter, the nails digging into the skin while the muscles on the Captain's body became more massive... She was going to drain this creature dry, and then deprive it of a host... At least that way, it'll be a long time before the fiend recovers.
She readied her blade for when the last of the energy was depleted, preparing to stab it into her again...
