Safira could barely contain her excitement and anxiety! She shook all over as she stood on the Sands, wanting so badly to Impress and at the same time knowing that if it were meant to be, it would happen. She was young yet, there were many clutches to be present for if she did not Impress at this one.
The first greens that came so gracefully out of their shells were so beautiful, the remnants of egg goop making their hides shine in the light of the Sands. She felt she couldn't breathe as their gazes swept over the Candidates and chose Theirs. Soft congratulations left her lips as her fellows Impressed, and she was genuinely glad to see them so happy, to see the hatchlings happy with their choices as well. Her icy eyes slid back across the Sands to the two blues standing. A sliver of worry leaked into her face as she watched the first two hesitate and she dearly hoped they would find the Rider that belonged to them.
The third blue that burst from his egg so energetically gave her hope a good kick start as she saw how beautiful he was, and eager. She gasped as he didn't even stop to look at the boys. His Rider was a girl, and it could be her! Her heart felt like it would burst from her chest any moment as it pounded like a Runner after a long journey.

Another blue, and he was interested in the girls too! Like so many others, Adi found it very amusing that today, the greens liked the boys and the blues liked the girls. It was soo cute! ...but not quite as cute when he shoved his brother.
"Hey now." Adine put her hands on her hips and frowned disapprovingly. "Be nice!"

Faehari had arrived on time, bowing to the Queen before joining the throng of female Candidates. She elbowed her way through the crowd to ensure she had a good spot – she had to have a good view of the entertainment – before she settled in.
The Rainforest dragonet was a silly thing, but amusing to watch. By contrast, the Desert dragonet put quite a damper on things. Such a handsome fellow, gone between! What a waste. She was glad to see that the Alpine egg had hatched, for it was the one she had originally worried might be a dud. Now if only he and blue clutchmates would Impress, things would be looking up!

The Ocean Coasts dragonet seemed to perk as the Candidates started to fuss and murmur, their voices carrying over the sands and their minds like open books to the unImpressed hatchlings. When the melancholy blue rose, so too did his brother, with an encouraging bugle as he shouldered the other into stumbling forward. He kept going too, past the pale blue and into the girls and sat down, nice and tidy, almost dainty, before his grumbling chosen. Renemine, your Gemgareth heard your call! Will you feed me? The sombre whirl of colours spun into brighter, happier hues as he looked upon His. With the melancholy blue Impressed and not alone, the other two seemed more inclined to get going. The Alpine was walking tall, not arrogant but aloof... his still-wet sings held partially open as he padded through the ranks, looking. And the Lacustrine, again, flopped on his belly in the midst of the female candidates with an irate flick of his tail. His was here, somewhere, and he was wasting sooo much energy! Flaring his wings he bugled and gazed at the crowd again. Where was his? A flash of a body and a comment, or maybe it was a thought, caught his attention and he off again, much more intent this time.

That was...could it be? That blue went to Rene! Ohh, how exciting! It was always delightful when someone you knew Impressed, although there weren't many people that Adi didn't know at least in passing. Still! It was ever so fun, although not as fun as Impressing her own would be...
Now, don't be jealous! The fleeting feeling was quickly curbed, and the young woman cheered, "Rene!"

Wykla heaved a happy sigh. With the first blue picking his rider the show was getting underway. Ocean Coasts was absolutely pretty and she grinned at his rider. Wykla hoped she would be able to perk him up some.
One blue down and two beauties to go. Her eyes darted between the blues and the girls. Who would be the two new lucky riders? Wykla found herself wishing that it would be.... her friends. Yes, she could call them her friends and be proud.
A soft amused noise, escaped her. That Lacustrine would have to do more than sit there and pout. C'mon. You can do it. Sitting there wont work. Get up and find Your's out. Maybe it wasn't helping, but it helped her feel better.

There, finally there was some action from the three blues sitting down! The little one finally stood, and the other two watched him come. Though she would be loath to admit it, a sliver of fear moved through herself at the approach of the dragons, even though the smallest of the blues was the only one to come near them. He moved through the girls and sat... Right in front of her. Very danitily.
Renemine, your Gemgareth heard your call! Will you feed me?
His eyes were very pretty. Didn't look so sad anymore. Very nice colors. Gemgareth? Good name, a bit long. And she couldn't fault his being obedient. And fast as well. Dragged his a** right up there and plunked it in the sand before her.
While she thought, Gemgareth squirmed and looked longingly towards the feeding tables. He sighed, drooping his head and tail, as if he would wearily fall to the sands. "Mine, I am so hungry...."
Rene snapped from her thoughts, looking to the 'fainting' blue. She nodded and headed up, not bothering to wait for him. "Wouldn't be so hungry iffen ya hadn't flopped down there. C'mon." As she headed up, she heard a voice call her name. Hmmm.. Adi? She smiled and waved towards the girl, giving her a shout of 'good luck'.
Gemgareth blinked and looked after her, as if he couldn't quite believe what had happened. He sighed and scampered along after her, tail still dragging in the sand. Mine, why are you so mean? He mewled. Rene had reached the feeding tables and had a hunk of meat, holding it out. His pace stayed the same dragging crawl as she waited for him.
"I gotta walk on my two legs, you gotta walk on your four. S'way a life."

Zeren balled his fists, the two blues were making no move to find theirs, his heart was in his mouth and it was difficult to swallow and watch, "By the shell of Faranth pleeease let them find Theirs" he thought when his attention was drawn to a third blue, who went ahead and shoved one of the other blues.
It seemed his wish was granted when one of the blues found His ... among the girls yes, but at this point Zeren just wanted them to find their other halves safely, to feel the pain of another hatchling going between.... would be too much and he'd break don in front of Kazvar... he couldn't .....didn't want to do that.
The other two blues seemed intent on the girls as well and he felt a pang of jealousy towards them, and towards those who had their Dragons, but this was only his second hatching, he supposed it got easier the more you attended and, at least this time he had the comfort of three flits to return to.

Azuranmine, my brother has Impressed! Did you see? Did you see? the green asked with a happy dragonic giggle.
"Kind of hard to see when I'm busy feeding you," he replied with a smirk, taking another piece of meat from the table and giving it to the newly hatched Kaikuth. But he could see the pair now, and it seemed that the striking blue had indeed Impressed to one of the female Candidates. And the other blues looked likely to Impress to girls as well. Definitely not a bad thing for him as a greenrider now.
Mine? I do not understand your thoughts. Is that some kind of new game to play?
The teen flushed ever so slightly at her question, having forgotten that she could see his thoughts to a degree. "Ah, um, no, not quite. Not until you're much older anyway." He distracted the dragonet with another piece of meat.

Well it seemed like at least one of the blue trio had found theirs, if she recalled right it was the rather sad little egg, perhaps he would cheer up now that he had impressed? He was really a pretty little beast and while she didn't know the lucky new candidate she wished them well all the same.
The other two were still looking it seemed, or at least one was...the second had flopped down into the sands again though they didn't look agitated or upset like that poor brown had so..hopefully they were just taking their time in choosing. Mercy watched the alpine blues wandering with one eye and kept an eye on the eggs with the other.

Anya was a bit startled as the greens impressed to boys and the blues seemed to favor the girls - she wondered if that said anything about her fellow candidates..strong women and pansy boys perhaps? It wouldn't surprise her. Especially if the majority of the boys were all hold born incompetents...which she thought must be the case even though she didn't actually know for sure.
It would also explain that poor brown betweening...clearly he hadn't wanted to be stuck with a weak rider, she couldn't blame him, though it was a still a sad thing to have happened. The two blues that hadn't impressed yet didn't seem to be overly upset however so she was sure they'd fine their riders here somewhere.

Kazvar growled under his breath, watching the blues. It was an interesting turn about, the greens to the boys, the blues all focused on the women... very interesting. He had to admit he'd been glad that Kazvask was a blue, even at the low level bond between Wher and Handler, he hadn't been sure he would have been comfortable connected at -that- level with a female. Then again, he wouldn't have been surprised if Zeren had 'gone green'. The boy tended to shy back like a wilting vine, but every so often he'd showed a flash of backbone. Perhaps that was why he hadn't yet impressed. It would take an interesting dragon to match up to Zeren's occasionally mercurial character. Something with a strong back for Zeren's 'wilting vine' to climb. He picked at his thumbnail for lack of anything better to do. Shouting at the sands was bad form, even if he did want things to move along. Of course 'bad form' hadn't stopped the bronze who had caught the Junior Queen from giving his draconic version of a shout. That had been an interesting moment to be sure, and he wondered if the Rider had been similarly excited. How much did rider and dragon bleed together anyway?

The Impression of the blue snapped Tairoth out of his funk. The black crooned and leaned forward, as if better to see the pair. He'd been so happy at the hatching, only to terribly upset by the brown dragonet going Between. It'd taken much petting and loving crooning, but the sad little blue Impressing finally had the black watching the sands in careful consideration.
"They are so slow, Marcy. Look how slow! I was fast, my belly was aching! Tairoth crooned, resting his head against M'cel's chest. The man caressed him, smiling, and was very glad that Tairoth had looked away before he could see the blue rider walking off without his.... her? She'd been standing with the girls, but that was not a feminine silhouette at all. In any case, she'd walked off without her dragon. The sad little thing crawled behind.
The rest will find their one, right? Make it so? Tairoth said, not wanting to have to make that awful sound again.
"I can't make it so, love. But we can both hope." He said, patting the black's neck. "And Adi is down there. Perhaps a blue will pick her?
"I like Adi."

Another blue had hatched just about the same time that one impressed... the one blue taking no time at all. It was kind of funny actually, the blues seemed to be favoring the girls... and the greens the boys. Jarest had impressed already, and even more great was this clutch was Ianaths. She wondered if she would impress this clutch, if not she would wait until the next. Though she had to admit... her strong willed self was impatient.
Tila watched the blues as they approached. Hello little ones. They seemed to not know who theirs was... were they frightened? Or just unsure. Or was this a game?

Oh good, Shedrawn thought one of the blues impressed hopefully the others would do so soon as well, so he could stop worrying. He smiled at the blue plopped down again in the sands I remember you lazy one. You may eventually have to get up he thought. he didn't really envy whoever that one rider would be, it would probably be an effort to get that one to walk over to the table. His rider would have to be very very patient. he was glad too that the Alpine egg had hatched and was searching for his. That one had had him worried from the beginning.
