He responded immediately to her change of posture; relaxing, his own shoulders rolled back and hands settling more calmly in his lap, eyes only flicking up over her head and around one more time before they resettled on her face, considering.
"...ah. well." It was a rather nice offer, wasn't it? Harrow took a moment to think that over before offering a timid, flat sort of smile, his eyebrows raised in a questioning sort of way. He didn't look certain, but he did look hopeful. "Well, it would be nice to know some people. What did you have in mind?"

She brightened up almost immediately. Not just at the change in posture, but the positive response to her offer. Splendid! Delicate fingers curled over the edge of the table, and she leaned forward, just a little, though not consciously. "Nothing specific. What do you like to do?" She was flexible. Besides, it wasn't really about her, but more about showing Harrow that not everyone at the school had unfortunate personalities.
She blinked once before glancing down at her hand. Ah, again with the being intimidating. She leaned back once more, smiling softly. "I should introduce you to Braum, Miss Bell, and Miss Junko. They're all quite nice as well."

Junko; Harrow flicked a look around at that name, since it tugged at him and -- and then he realized that was who he was supposed to sit with the first round, if he'd had the guts to go through with it sooner.
If he hadn't spent quite so long adjusting his cravat.
It made him flush, his eyes resettling on Yaya, trying not to look as embarrassed as he felt. "I'm not sure they'd all like me very much. Or like what I do."
A pause, a breath, and he shook his head a little. "I ah. I read a lot. And go on my scraptop...and write a little bit. You guys?"

She couldn't help but steal a quick glance around the room after mentioning her friends. Just a peek to see if they were getting on well. Much to her delight it seemed Braum and Belle were paired up, and there appeared to be a flush on the witches smiling face. It must be going well, at least she hoped so. Harrow recaptured her attention quite easily though when he spoke again.
"Not like you?" She frowned, a pretty little pout of dark lips. "Why do you think that? Miss Junko and Miss Bell are very sweet, and Braum is very respectable." Well, usually anyways. Unless you were a foul mouthed, quick tongued undead.
"Me, I like relaxing. Taking naps or spending time with friends. Also swimming. I've got myself a new swimming partner actually, his name is G, have you met him?" He was such a sweet monster. Swimming blues blinked. "What sorts of things do you write?" She'd been rambling and hadn't meant to, impolite of her.

Chobi_Chocobo Tahki blinked as the conversation quickly shifted to a club. The gryphoness paused before opening her mouth only to close it again as Tess brought up battle of the bands. "Well .. I er.. I m no good at sports and well, " She stumbled through her thought process quite a bit. Though it wouldn't hurt to try would it. "I .. suppose I could give it a go... never thought about it..." Tahki chewed her lip some. "Y-yeah! I.. sort of K-Oed my own team and the other team.. by mistake." A nervous 'heh' followed. "You were there too werent you? I - I mean in a band not in the audience." "You never know until you try," Tess cheerfully offered, far more at ease with a neutral topic of conversation such as clubs and activities. Besides, this way Tess would know non-joining meant a lack of interest on the other ghoul's part, adn the winged vampire would be perfectly alright with that.
"You did? You must be really strong," there was neither malice nor condescension in her tone. Just a statement of the facts. "How far did your team get? Ours got eliminated on the first round but we got really close," Tess chuckled sheepishly, twirling a strand of her hair around her finger.

It never hurt to give it a try even if Tahki had not interest in sports. The gryphon chewed her lip some as she weighed her options.
"Well.. I er..." Tahki stumbled along her sentences trying to find an appropriate none cocky way to reply to 'you must be really strong'. Then Tess confessed to having lost the first round too.
"... We lost the first round because of me..." Tahki twiddled her thumbs shyly. "We probably would have made it further if my drum sticks didn't hit everyone so hard. At the end of the fight I knocked out both teams." Tahki blushed a deep beat red color.
"R-really close you say?" The gryphons ears perked some.

It was Tess' turn to try and phrase her words without sounding cocky. The other team had looked just as tired as they had if she remembered things correctly. "Yes, at least, I think we were close. I got knocked out when Sammy smashed her guitar against my jaw." She cringed at the memory.
"What sort of drumsticks were you using?" They sounded like really heavy and large ones if they managed to knock both teams out!

Tahki cringed at the thought of having a guitar jammed to the jaw. That must have really really hurt.
"Ooooww.. that sounds really painful," Tahki stated the obvious, "Your jaw though.. it looks fine.. I mean.. " She stammered a little bit trying to get her thoughts together as coherently as possible. The gryphon was not succeeding in this though.
"Oh.. Well.. " The question about the type of drum sticks was a nice out, "I used the ones the stage provided. Were those heavy?" Being a monster meant being abnormally strong. Tahki was at least aware that monsters tended to be able to lift things other species couldn't. So she asked if they were heavy. They felt like normal drum sticks to her at least.

Tess nodded and smiled in response at the guitar-to-the-jaw portion, "I'm just glad I don't have a glass jaw," she chuckled. "I never got a chance to lift the drumsticks," the undead ghoul canted her head, "Iggy was the one on drums. I was singing and Lizzy was our guitarist. What was your band's name?"
Tess would have paid more attention to the other bands but, well, she'd been too nervous during auditions and she was unconscious after the first round. After that, she just simply didn't have the urge to watch the rest.

Ary Keeyara Coralie looked down at her chest, as if to remind herself what he was pointing at. She grinned a little. "Huh, right. Well, I figured guessing games were fun if the conversations got dull. I am curious to see what people would think my name was." Names could say a lot about a person, in her opinion. So therefore, what you thought someone's name was said a lot of what you thought about them. Or something like that. Or it was just funny. Both worked pretty well.
"That wasn't terribly coordinated of him," she admitted shamelessly, though it seemed more of an observation than a criticism. She tilted her head a little, watching him and seeming to take better note of his appearance. Huh, she hadn't noticed the ears before. Or she had and she'd never really thought much of it. Interesting. "But it is good it was nothing serious...real injuries kill the mood and I had a lot of fun that day." He frowned softly, sitting up straight again and trying to determine if he should think of a 'nickname' or not. Typically, he'd just belt out what was on his mind, but he was actually supposed to be impressive tonight. "Well... I'm not very good with making up names that aren't offensive. I've gotta be truthful. Help me out a little?" He looked at her hopefully, offering her a small grin to hopefully entice her to do so.
Upon mention of Morton, he gave a light snort and shook his head. "Not really, but yeah... It was fun, I guess." He was silent for a moment, seeming to piece a few of his observations together. "I'd been figuring you and he had something going on... I guess not, considering you're here. Sitting with me, no less."

"I'm not easily offended," Coralie assured him, still amused. She was curious as to what he would have come up with, then, if that was his reason for not saying anything specific. It was a bit of a shame he was holding back, somehow she thought she probably would have enjoyed "offensive" guesses. But, well, if he was going to be like that, "But, if you insist on a hint, it starts with the letter before yours."
Her eyebrows quirked at his last comment and she seemed thoughtful momentarily. "We're best friends." It didn't sound like she was correcting him, but she certainly wasn't agreeing with him. She and Morton were comfortable with each other, they were both terribly laid back, and she saw nothing wrong with that in the slightest. It felt rather normal, though she supposed others might not think so. "Does that mean you're here to find your 'special someone'?" she asked, tilting her head a little.

He gave a short chuckle, waving his hand before leaning back in his chair and relaxing into his seat a bit. When given his hint, Deacon furrowed his brow in thought a moment, trying to think over some more common C names that he'd heard before. "Crystal? Celeste? Clare?" He realized guessing the correct one might not be as easy as he could have hoped, but at least she didn't seem to mind the little game. "Am I hot or cold?"
"I'd certainly like to find a pretty girl, but I doubt I'd expect to find 'the one' anytime soon..." He smirked, giving her a quick wink. "I don't like the idea of tying myself down to one, truth be told."

"All very pretty, but no," she replied. The first two almost made her laugh, as they certainly seemed like strange names to her. Sure, she'd heard them before, but they weren't terribly common from the people she'd know. Clare was better. "Well, you haven't hit the right vowel yet, so I'd say cold." Plus the names he was listing her particularly girly. Though she supposed her full one was a bit too, but not as strongly as Crystal. She felt bad for anyone with that name, honestly.
"Ahh, I see," Coralie murmured, leaning against the table. Hooding her eyes she grinned a little, "You really are a tom cat, aren't you?" She said it shamelessly and without judgment.

Harrow's mouth opened and closed like a fish as she flitted from one subject to the next, not quite willing to be so rude as to interrupt, but a bit thrown-off by the way she never seemed to pause for an answer.
At that last question, he jumped in before she had a chance to get going again, a hand spread out on the table in front of him and leaning forward a little. This was about as aggressive as he got. "Well...well, mostly it's...I read a lot about the new scraptops and...and other scareware on the market. Um."
That was geeky. He knew it was geeky.
"I wrote for the school paper at home." And that wasn't much better. He blinked. "Is there a pool here to swim in?"

He tapped his chin in thought when told he was far from her name, pondering over it. He wondered if he should give up, or fall back on a nickname or endearing term instead. "I think you've got me, darlin'... Do I get another hint?"
He couldn't help but chuckle at her, giving a toothy grin. "Better believe it. Some of the ghouls like that just fine, though... I'd wager a pretty one like yourself has the Snots stumbling when you pass, hmm?"
