Okay,uhm,i havent read the whole thread posts and all because i dont have time.But,i am an psycho fan of Silent Hill!And i have been waiting for another movie to come out.Most of the time i say,"They should make another movie"Or,"I know there will be" It happens.I know,weird.Anyways,i never understood the end of the first movie,but my sister said its that they "died" in the car accident or something.Anyways,again,i would really love to see this new movie.I hope it gives,uhm,like an clearer way of what happened in the end of the first one.If it is an sequel.If it was with the same,uhm,like main character of the first one,i would love for i havent really played the other games since i dont have an ps2 or ps3.But i have seen vids of them.I actually dont go to cinemas anymore.Familly kinda cheap.But always buy the movies once they get out on dvds or something.I dont like 3D.Hurts my eyes.And besides,kinda stupid.Anyways,i truly hope i get to see this movie.

Yep, see my biggest concern with the first movie was more or less how close to the story they would stick, but pushing aside the fact its not canon, the second movie has me extremely intrigued as to how each character pans out and what roles they play. It's like they picked different people from different games, threw in a few oddballs, hit blend, and now we are all getting a taste of a new SH Smoothie.

Also stereotypical and silly in some points. hahaha, Im with you on that, though I didn't mind the first movie. I saw it as a kid when I was just being introduced to the series so being the ten year old I was and having only play the room for a bit I didn't see much wrong with it. Must have stayed as not that bad I guess for me. And Henry, YOU SHALL NOT DESTROY ME! I am a new and IMPROVED Walter! For now I have Ganado, which is cattle in spanish! So I will be like, living off of V8 health drinks and steak and stuff so HA! (I dont think I made a blink of sense there.....)

There's A LOT of actors and actresses I am excited to see, and I have come to terms these movies will NEVER surpass the games..... after lowering the bar on my standards, I find these movies much more enjoyable and a lot more exciting to await.

I can help with what happened at the end! Most people actually believe it was meant to show that Alessa at the end kept Rose in the otherworld. Though, that would not explain how at the end the good part of Alessa koncked out at the sight of the bad. I think that what happened was the bad part rejoined Alessa in a way, thusly shattering any way of return to reality. She also would have helped with the passage through the fog. There, ending explained WALTER STYLE!

The plot thickens. twisted With this many characters and a great cast this movie is sure to open up a ton of roads for plot twists.... and deaths twisted I really hope this movie does well for the fans and brings in new ones. It would be great to see even more Silent Hill films be made in the future and have it turn into a film franchise like the games. Since the films themselves are already non-cannon and are more of an alternate reality to the games this could lead to more great ideas of stories to tell and have a possible movie cannon alongside the games cannon. Who knows... Maybe we will all be the team who make a Silent Hill film someday. emotion_c8

Well known actors doesn't do it for me. It's more like just saying "oh look you should watch this because of so-and-so".
Because you know what, Silent Hill isn't about forgettable characters getting lost in a spooky town and getting picked off. It just has this feeling like it's going to be like a typical Hollywood horror movie. The reason I like the first 4 Silent Hill games is because they were focused more on eerie atmosphere, and less on shock and gore.
For example, Silent Hill 2 contains violent things, like Maria getting attacked, but we are not SHOWN the attack explicitly. It is implied and works just fine. In Homecoming we have gore shoved right in our faces and it just doesn't do it for me. It doesn't make me cringe in fear, it makes me cringe in disgust. Seriously all of that stuff ripped off from Hostel? Ugh!
The fact that it is going to be 3D as well just makes me want to cradle my head in my hands. But that is because I REALLY hate this 3D fad.
When it comes out on DVD I might watch it, but there is no way you'll get me into a theater seat to watch this.
I mean don't get me wrong, I think it's fine you guys are looking forward to it. Just don't think it'll be my kind of movie. And with the announcement of Book of Memories my faith in Silent Hill has been kinda spiraling downward. You know what I mean? Don't mean to be a Negative Nancy. sad
