The marid shrank into her seat rather quickly when Cricket stood and hollered at them all. Sure she was a demon and tended to place her race above others, but she was also a student, and the teachers at their school were scary, and she'd vowed on her first day to never cross them. Did participating in a disturbance count a** crossing? Oh jack.. Frowning thoughtfully, she watched the ghost return to her desk to riffle through the worksheets before placing two aside with a pumpkin. That didn't bode well. She had a sinking feeling she knew who those paper's belonged to, and her name was not scribbled on either.. probably.
A glance to her side let her catch Braum's eye and a twitch of her lips almost made it into a reassuring smile. Then she saw the blood, and what neutrality she'd gathered faded into all out worry. She wisely didn't comment on the crimson, but rather nodded her understanding before reaching over to give his arm a squeeze. "I think an afternoon nap is in order after class." She kept her voice a soft whisper, but it as even. Worry betrayed only by the swirl of dark blue in her eyes.
She kept her hand on his arm, but turned her attention back to the head of the class, eying Cricket warily. Sure she knew what the pumpkins were for now, and worried over who she was likely to be paired with.
Granted, she was capable of getting along with just about anyone. She had the bias of any proud demon, but her's was a passive pride. She didn't rub her superiority in anyone's face, too much of a hassle, as the events that'd just transpired proved all to well.

Julian matched her smile for a moment before it fled as a black dread sank over him. Oh, someone's day was not going to go well. And with all the trouble that had brewed up around them, he had no idea who's day was going to ruined. Or week, or month for that matter. He was still at the point of not being able to tell. His mind had wandered a bit with the feeling, but it zipped back to the task at hand when Tahki addressed him. He blinked and smiled again, his having shrunk too with the bad feelings around them.
"Hi, Tahki. Did you want to come sit with Sin and me?" he asked, glancing back over at the troubled group again with a worried look. He visibly flinched when Nurse Cricket yelled at them, his feathers fluffing up a bit.
Was the fight all about race? And there he had just been thinking about that. He didn't care, though, Tahki was his friend and he didn't want her to be by herself, especially in such a tense classroom.

Tahki gave him a shy nod keeping her golden eyes focused on him so as not to stare at the students who had just been in conflict.
"Y-yes," Tahki nodded again, "I'd like that alot." The gryphon quickly got up and out of her seat as smoothly as she could so as not to cause any attention to her self. Hopefully nurse Cricket wouldn't be annoyed at the seat change.
The gryphons eyes glanced over to Sin. Tahki had met her once at a booth but had been to shy to really talk to the demoness. She was sure that Sin was in a few of her other classes as well.

Igneous watched the bickering back and forth from her spot against the wall. What was all the yelling about? She had never seen students acting like this before! When Cricket yelled at them the second time she just wanted to fade into the wall behind her - even though she was innocent of any of the problems so far. She looked around for her friends, Tess and Lizzy. She wanted someone to talk to!

Having passed out face down on one of the desks in the class room; Mei woke up, unwillingly, from all of the commotion that was going on between the students.
Eye's half lidded, she glanced about, trying to familiarize the faces that seemed to show up in a slight blur. She was completely oblivious to everything she had been missing, and she wasn't about to ask for a re-cap. If there was anything she had learned about her toys upon joining the academy, its that they were oddly strange ones.. So touchy, and easily upset.
Rubbing her eyes, she gave a small stretch before settling back down into the seat, head resting upon her palms. "Is class over yet?" She asked in an almost monotone voice. She hoped she had slept through the lecture of 'pumpkin patches, and babies'.

Sin was half torn between annoyance and admiration for Julian, the little featherbrain had the guts to go ask the gryphon girl to sit with them. Didn't he realize that demons didn't date...non-demons? Well okay it wasn't a rule, but that was just usually how things fell into place wasn't it? Her whole world was being forcibly re-arranged and Sin had to work to keep her lips from moving into a frown. Still...Tahki was nice enough and Julian had been brave enough to talk to her. Considering his usual tight lipped panicky expression around most ghouls this was a stunning improvement.
"Hello Tahki..." She whispered and offered the gryphon girl a small smile. Then she glanced over at Julian for a moment her look turning to curiosity before she turned back to focus on Cricket not wanting to get another tongue lashing. Honestly, were classes supposed to be so stressful?

Rain was terrified of Miss Cricket. She had never seen the teacher quite so furious before and it was kind of neat.. in that terrifying sort of way. She had stayed quiet during the entire class. It wasn't her nature to be overly social anyway but still.. she was confused. If anything, she became even more confused the moment every student started talking. She wasn't even sure which way was down or up anymore.
Somehow, during all the racket, she had come to sit by Maladore. It seemed to be fairly quiet for the most part too. In fact, Rain wasn't sure if it was alive. She quietly raised her hand to touch it on the beak. "Hello," she whispered ever so softly.

Why was everyone yelling!? There was fighting and then Miss Cricket was shouting at them and slamming pumpkins and Oh Hecate, this was so embarrassing!!
In her lack of worldly knowledge, Belladonna had snatched up the paper hanging outside of Miss Cricket's office and scribbled her answers on it, naively thinking it would be a one-on-one chat, the way her mother had always promised to explain it to her. (How had she gone 16 years without getting that particular chat?!) But ah, she had missed that whole 'CLASS' thing and now she sitting in a chair, her hands clamped together in her lap. Dear Hecate, please, please, PLEASE don't mention bodice ripping or anything like they do in the novels she read. Those were literary terms meant to make young girls blush and wasn't Belladonna doing just a fine job of that right now??
And Braum had given her the strangest look, as though she had something on her dress and oh, that had done it. She had just whirled back around in her chair and grabbed the sides of her hat, pulling them down over her ears and hoping this class would just END.

Julian's smile grew a bit when Tahki said she'd like to come sit with them and she even rushed about to do so. He walked with her back to his seat. "This is Tah-" he started to introduce his friend to Sin, but caught her hello to the gryphon ghoul. His eyebrows rose a bit in surprise, but he supposed he shouldn't have been. He was already in several classes with Tahki and Sin, they had probably met in one class or another.
"Oh," he said and sat down between them. His gaze flicked over to Sin, catching her curious look and he just gave her a shrug. Whatever she was curious about, he had the feeling that even if he knew what it was, he wouldn't be able to answer it. Why did he ask Tahki over? He didn't want her to be alone in the class, but couldn't really explain why. Why invite a monster over? Why not? How was it that he could go over and talk to her when he was so awkward around other ghouls? Well, that he could kinda answer, he was just comfortable with Tahki, they were just really similar.

Alcyone had an idea about what was going on in the class but she wasn't sure why everybody was getting riled up about all of this. It was clear that Alcie didn't gossip too much especially about students that she didn't know. But Alcie couldn't help but want to just throw in a few fighting words to make things more interesting. She refrained from doing so knowing that she would really only get in trouble from Cricket at that point.
The water demon sat patiently at her desk awaiting the next set of instructions. Alcie warily glanced at the pumpkins at the front of the room and was slightly concerned at what those meant. Looking around, she recognized a lot of the students in the class but she really wasn't too close to any of them. But now they were bickering about... races? Raising a brow, Alcie caught parts of the conversations considering that they were talking pretty loudly. Being a demon, Alcie couldn't help but want to take Braum's side and also because nobody seemed to be making any sense anymore. But for the time being, she knew that she needed to stay out of these types of disagreements until she knew where her friendships lay.
She couldn't help but look at Professor Cricket wondering why she was letting her students argue like this and then everything stopped as Cricket's authoritative voice swept across the room. Interesting.... Teachers were frightening at this school and their bad side was not a good place to be.

Tahki gave Sin a shy smile. On the inside she was thankful the demon remembered her name. Tahki didn't think of her self as someone who stood out much in a crowd. Usually the gryphon did her best to do everything to not cause more attention to her self. Usually.
"Hey Sin," Her voice was pretty cheery considering past events that had unfolded moments ago. But Tahki had mostly moved past that now that she was sitting with Julian and Sin.
Julian reaction to Sin knowing her name puzzled the gryphon some.
"W-we met at a voting booth," Tahki felt her cheeks flush a bright red.
The gryphon had no idea what Sin was pondering about. Tahki had never dealt with race division before. Her parents were upper class banker monsters and Tahki had been spoiled silly since she had been born. This lead to a lot of sheltering. ALOT alot alot of sheltering.

"Oh, I just... felt silly, should have expected you had met," Julian replied, rubbing the back of his head, looking from one to the other. Really, they were both as super-achieving as he was, if not more. He tried to be in as many classes as he could, but there were ones he'd missed and some weren't classes he could take.
He glanced over at Nurse Cricket and noticed how she had taken a couple of the papers from the piles and put a pumpkin with the papers. He frowned in thought, looking from Tahki to Sin.
"Um, what do you think Nurse Cricket is doing, with the papers we filled out?" he asked softly, his toes clicking nervously against the floor. He hadn't noticed when she had separated the two papers from the others, so he hadn't made the connection between the incident with the students and moving the papers.

Tahki gave Julian a small grin.
"I don't know," Tahki whispered trying to keep her voice down. Truly she didn't but the gryphon wanted to know. Was there some sort of hefty price tag now that the students had handed in their papers? What would be their fates.
Tahki folded her arms on the desk and rested her chin watching Nurse Cricket with great interest. Tahki couldn't help but admire the fun glow she had all around her body.
"What fun colors," Tahki whisper yawned. She hadn't meant to say that out loud and as quickly as it had come out her hands were grasping her mouth.

The little fight that broke out had her staring completely baffled at the crowd. She didn't quite understand what was going on or half of what was being said, but she did understand that she, like everyone else sitting here, was being told they were idiots, more or less. Sadly, that was a point she felt she couldn't refute. Words were daggers, and it felt like they were going straight through the gaping hole in her chest. She was pathetic, but that's why she was here, to change that!
When things quieted down the little Vetala was still in her little bubble of self-loathing, but when Tahki looked over at her...well she couldn't help but brighten up just a little bit. Tahki was still her friend! That was all she needed! The small undead girl watched the little group form, and after staring at the ground again and thinking as hard as she could, made her choice.
Sliding off of her perch on the chair (and having to steady herself by grabbing the desk), she shuffled towards the group that Tahki was with, dragging her heels against the ground. It was easy enough to reach them, but the hard part came when she went to say 'hi'. Her throat just seemed to close up, her words lost, and she settled for fidgeting nervously, tapping Tahki's shoulder and then waving a little to the group with a reversed hand.
Yeeeeah that was going to have to do. She'd never willingly gone up to a pair of demons before! Never.

Malodore had been steadfastly trying to ignore the commotion around it, going so far as to produce a small tome from its sleeve - which only partially worked. It jumped slightly at the faint touch on its beak, jerking said beak sharply upwards, then relaxing when it realized the touch was from someone who wasn't being damned insane. "Good afternoon," it said, politely, putting the book down after one more sidelong glance at the other students. "I take it this type of squabbling isn't your cup of tea?" Her name was Rain, wasn't it? The plague doctor recognized her from the student council elections.
