Chloe watched with amazement as he struggled to his feet. With a dagger in his hand no less. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes and stood, "You can barely fight your way out of a paper bag. Sit." she gave him a negligent little push, barely any pressure and watched him topple into the chair behind him, "I'll take a look, you stay put." She instructed and moved to the front flap. Pushing it aside she peeked out then stepped out completely, "Friend or foe, show yourself now!" She called, her voice harsh.

Chloe looked the stranger over carefully as he spoke. He'd dropped his weapons on the ground, making sure his hands were visible, which was satisfactory. Something tickled at the edge of her senses for a moment, something further away before it disappeared and she could feel nothing. Her attention returned fully to their visitor, "I've heard worse." She replied flatly to his comment about his name, "You can call me Chloe." She replied, "Am I to assume from your flippant remark that you are in need of sustenance?"

"Chloe, don't be rude. If we have a guest, invite him in." Evangeline said from inside before ducking out of the tent into the open.

Chloe glanced back at her mother but kept Arius in her perifery, "He said he's a passerby." She replied mildly.

Evangeline clucked her tongue, "For shame, go tend to Ark." She shooed Chloe back inside.

Chloe threw Arius one last hard look before turning and disappearing inside the tent.

Sativa had since gotten a large bowl of stew into Ark's hands with another hunk of bread. She now sat perched on the arm of the chair he was sitting in with a bowl of her own, listening to what was going on outside. When Chloe came in she perked, "What's going on?" She asked.

"We have a visitor." She replied.

Outside, Evangeline smiled serenely, "I am Evangeline. A pleasure to meet you. If you coem in peace, we would be happy to offer you something to eat. Please come in, are you in the tournament?" She'd turned and now stood in the doorway of the tent, holding the flap open.

Inside her room, Profius sat with Millicent. Each of them had a bowl of stew and some bread and he was making sure that Millicent was going to eat it all. She seemed steadier, though she was still moving a bit sluggishly. He tilted his head and grunted softly.

Millicent looked up, "What is it?"

"Busy night." He replied then smiled easily, "How is the stew?"

Millicent smiled back, "Delicious. As always." She replied quietly. Her smile dimmed, "...Papa...Mr. Ark..."

Profius raised his brows curiously, then in alarm as tears ran down Millicent's cheeks. He put his bowl down hurriedly, "What is it, baby girl? Are you in pain?"

Millicent nodded, "My chest...everytime I think about Mr. Ark." She managed, her voice a mere squeak, "Papa...his whole family...his whole family is gone!" She sobbed.

Profius took her bowl and pulled her close, "I'm sorry you had to experience that. You always feel so deeply for others."

"I keep wondering what I'd do if you and Mother were suddenly just gone." Her voice was muffled.

"I would expect you would do what Ark is doing. Keep going. You will not be alone, you have your sisters. I expect that your mother has already adopted Ark, so he will not be alone either. There are two kinds of families, did you know that?"

Millicent sniffed and looked up at her father's face, "Really?"

Profius nodded, "There is the Family of Blood, like you and me. And then there is the Family of the Heart. That is the family that you choose and is filled with good friends that love you and will protect you no matter what and who you will do the same for. The Family of the Heart is just as precious."

She was quiet for a long moment, "Are we Ark's Heart Family?" She asked finally.

He paused and then chuckled, "Maybe not yet...but perhaps very soon now."

Another long pause, "I've always wanted a brother."

Profius laughed.

Evangeline, a flawless host, ushered Arius to a chair, "Please, have a seat wont you and get aquainted, I'll get you a bit of food, shall I? Poor things, all of you, starving yourselves. For shame!" She hurried away, leaving Arius with Chloe with her not particularly friendly expression, Chloe with her openly intrigued expression; her blue eyes moving up and down his form, and Ark, eating his soup.

"Well, isn't this exciting? I'm Chloe, who do I have the pleasure of addressing?" She asked, smiling engagingly at Arius.

((I don't mean to be rude but my character's first name is Agro not Arius lol. But if you like that better you can definitely call him that. I just wanted to make sure you knew lol.))

Kiara Blackwing

Inside Kiara's den was a small pile of leaves with a dear skin drapped over it to create a small bed. Kiara let out a large yawn before setting Zarfour in it's case. She curled up into a ball on the bed, wrapping her wings and tail around her body. She had the sense of an animal. She drifted to sleep with the image of the half-demons and the Arkarian in her mind.





"I am Agro. Pleased to meet you my dear," he said with a sly smile. His eyes flickered around the room to everyone watching him as he sat down. They all seemed defensive, as if he was intruding on something important. He studied the man eating soup. There was something about him that seemed... different.
The angel set the food down in front of him. It looked delisious and his mouth started to water. He dug into it like a ravenous beast.
"This is amazing. Thank you so much," he mumbled with a mouthful of food, trying not to spit it onto the table. He was thoroughly embarrassing himself but at that moment nothing mattered to him more than the stew that was making his hungry quickly subside.

Sativa glanced at her sister. Then at Ark. She sighed when she noticed that neither of them seemed inclined to speak to the newcomer and Mother had just gone into the back to check on Father and Millicent.

"So! Is this the first time you've participated in the tournament?" She asked.

((ugh, sorry y'all, that was kinda awful))

Kiara Blackwing

Kiara woke in a cold sweat after having nightmares about her family.
Is papa still alive? she asked herself.





Agro burst out laughing, unable to control himself at the human's actions. He stretched his arms over his head and arched his spine. He suppressed a belch as well. The food had filled him up marvelously and brought on a pleasant drowsiness.
"To answer your question, yes this is. I saw a flier for it and decided, what the heck, why not give it a try? My life is so boring anyways that it doesn't even matter if I get seriously hurt. I think it'll be fun. How about yourself?"
He stood up and brought his dirty soup bowl to where the rest of them lay for cleaning. He hesitated, wondering if he should clean them as a way of saying thank you. He glanced at the half demon girl with questioning eyes.
"That soup was delicious beyond belief, by the way. Who do I have the pleasure of saying thanks to?" he finally asked.

Kiara Blackwing

Kiara could not fall back asleep for the life of her, so she decided to take a night walk. Walking outside, she saw the most glorious sight above the trees tops: billions of stars lit up the sky. A genuine smile crept across her face.





"I was born in Geradia, but I'm basically a nomad. I've been traveling since I developed the ability to take the form of a wolf so that I wouldn't harm anyone or scare the people I knew. I know it was pretty wrong of me to just leave without giving them any notice but somehow I think things turned out better that way. Are you the one I have to thank for this wonderful soup? It was probably the best thing I have ever eaten," Agro replied. He looked into Profius's eyes but was careful not to appear as challenging. "I should get going now. I have disturbed your peace quite enough I'm sure. Thank you again ever so much. Perhaps we will meet again at the tournament?" He went over to pick up his belonging before he was to leave. He felt one of the demon-girl's staring at him as he did so. Awkwardness set into his mind.
