People make seeds that look like furniture, and where ever they drop it, what they made pops up. There are house, museum, nook shops, bulletin boards, etc. seeds that they can make. No, I'm not a hacker, I have some friends who are, but they aren't the mean type.
My town was hacked once. This crazy hacker came and planted mansion seeds. One sprung up at my gate, a few around my house, and a couple at the beach. I had to remake my town.. but gladly I had a friend who I met over Wi-Fi who helped me get back to where I was.

WARNING! YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!! Everybody, please BE CAREFUL when you make a trade with a shady person. This will seriously become a bigger issue once more people learn about this. Ok, so I was doing a transaction with someone that said they'd give me a Metroid for free. I was all "yayyy" about it, until seconds after the initial transaction. A friend came in to the gate seconds after and behold, I could see that this other person was HACKING my game! My gate had turned into a Museum! I quickly powered off so everything was okay, but I couldn't have been so lucky if it wasn't for my friend coming in at that presice moment. If your gate turns into a Museum, you won't be able to get on Wifi Mode anymore without restarting your entire game Other people on the forum quickly began complaining that their gates had turned into a museum. Now they are stuck with a Museum Gate. I really don't know ways to prevent this and as of right now there's no way to fix this, but please just be careful! You could lose either any chance to go online or your entire town if you find yourself attacked by anybody doing this. Oh, and watch out for this person: code: 5025-7505-3343 name: Griefer town: LOL If this has happened to you(copied and pasted from somebody in the Gamefaqs forum): 1.get a friend to activate Immigration Mode 2.Grab all the bells & items you can 3.move to a friends town 4.if you still have items you want, move back & nab em 5. Create a new town 6. move back. Moral of the story: BE CAREFUL who you invite to your town! Scary!

A simailiar thing happened to me cept the gate turning into a museum thing someone came in my town and choped down everyone of my trees took me a week to recover.

wow, lucky me that's never happened. i met a guy over nintendo.com named James (he's never on anymore and i dont know if its cuz he got the wii and is playing that or just gave up! waaah! btw if he is in this guild and reads this post you'll know its me jerry lolz) and he offered to be my friend and he even told me he was a hacker but he never did anything bad, it was all action replay hacks like bells hacks and item hacks. (besides it was usually me who went to his town) (oh and another thing, if anyone has a water pattern, can i copy it? my idiot sister got rid of some of my patterns for her s**t patterns and im killing her for that). but also isnt it made so noone can come into you're town without your permission and friend code?

Here is a better idea BUY A GATE SEED save it somewere so if it gets hacked you just need to place it somewere else.... ^.^
