Half tucking her hair behind her ear, she nodded lightly, biting on her bottom lip while she thought. "I think if your telling the truth, then it shouldn't be impossible." Quintessa pointed a finger at him, giving him a calculating stare. She was only half-convinced he was telling the truth, but it held the most sway. "We'll need witnesses, proof, and cold hard evidence. A testimony from his lips would seal the deal, but I doubt thats going to happen."

Quintessa wrapped her arms around her biceps and rubbed them for warmth, her already pale skin losing it's glow. "I'll kill you, make no mistake about that," she added as an afterthought. "I just don't want to break up a family if I don't have to."

Eh... The soul thing would have to wait a while. At least she was considering his story. "Well, I might have agitated the situation a wee bit..." He cleared his throat, ears flipping back in embarrassment. He would have laughed about it normally, but considering that the guy had reacted by placing a price on his head... Full disclosure might be for the best when the time came. No surprises to make him look bad. "He did start it, but after I finished it- I- kinda- tried-to-rub-it-in-his-face-and-told-his-girl-that-she-should-be-with-a-real-man. I didn't mean me though!"

He clutched at the cloak around his own shoulders and ducked his head ever so slightly, trying to not flinch from an expected reaction. She looked cold, but he didn't even have any shirt! If she was about to beat him for being a cocky b*****d then he could at least keep a little warmth for himself. The other guy had started it anyway! He hurried on to get his extra two cents in before anything could happen. "And my family would appreciate you not breaking them up either. Enough of the gang were watching to confirm my story if I can get to them! That's part of why he's going so far. He's supposed to be the big-bad of the area, and I revealed the idiot that he is."

"A bit?" Quintessa gave him 'the look' and angled around to give him her full attention. Halfway through his hurried rendition she gave a bark of laughter that lit up her eyes. "Seriously? Did you honestly say that? Thats priceless!" She slapped her leg and laughed harder. "Thats...thats the best thing...I've ever heard." It took her a while to calm down, and when she did, Quintessa whiped the corner of her eyes with her hand.

"If someone said that to me, I'd break their face, but I can see where he's coming from." She breathed into her hands and twined them into each other, looking slyly at the cloak. It wouldn't have been so bad, if the manacles weren't so damn cold. "You should rest while you have the chance. And if it makes you feel any better, you can move the spear." She nudged it with her paw.

Ah, the famed 'look.' He could handle 'the look'; he had enough practice receiving it. Though, Quintessa once again surprised him with her reaction. Gosh, soul, no soul... She was keeping him guessing! Though, it was nice to see an honest smile on her face, in her eyes- Nope! Not going there!

"His view? I still think killing is an over-reaction." He pouted, pulling the cloak tighter still around his shoulders. Being broader than the female, it didn't cover as much of his torso as he'd have liked. He just repeated to himself that she had a shirt. ....Though how much that covered was up to interpretation. "Rest? With you stalking over me?" He shook his head vehemently. "Nope. Not doing it." As much as he wanted to grab the spear and toss it overboard, which he could have since she said he could move it, he didn't want to touch the thing after it had shocked his arm earlier. The magic was the cattaur's, but even so-

At any rate, he didn't want to lose track of where they were going by falling asleep. Not that he knew much about sea travel, but he could still see the shoreline and the sun. If he made it out of this alive... He was getting home, no matter what.

Quintessa stretched back out across the width of the boat and propped her head up on the side. "Fine, have it your way. You can guide us for a while and you will, if you want these off." She shook the manacle chain. "Head west. I'm going to sleep."

Unlike Gabriel, Quintessa had no qualms with being vulnerable infront of the other. She was an extremely light sleeper and if he so much as touched her...That thought shouldn't have been as appealing as it was.

The assasin fanned pulled her hair over her left shoulder and fixed a loose braid before closing her eyes.

"Fine. I will." He pouted, poking one of the paddles absentmindedly, ignoring the female's emphasis on the chain. It was hard to forget something wrapped so firmly around his wrist. He could steer a boat just fine.

Watching Quintessa relax, he found himself becoming a little jealous. The recent time had been anything but relaxing, which he certainly wasn't used to. Adrenaline up and down and up and down again. His body started to feel the day now that it wasn't on constant alert for attack. Sighing, he watched the buildings along the shore change as they floated along, the taur too small to see features. The businesses and homes were becoming less familiar as they went, and in time they weren't familiar at all.

He shook his head to wake himself and calm himself. At least before he knew the territory. Now... He glanced at the female again. Wouldn't it be nice to curl up w- No it wouldn't!! He slouched against the side, glaring at the passing buildings in the distance.

Quintessa was no where near sleep.

Since she had her back turned to Gabriel, she was able to open her eyes and watch the shore from atop the siding. Her body was charged with energy, and as tired as she was, all she could do was stare apathetically over the water.

She stretched out her paws, taking the time to pop every digit and joint in her body. The assasin knew a good way to burn off her excess energy, but seeing as that would only lead to more complications, she decided not to.

So she laid there for a while, listening to the sounds of the water and the fine piece of a** behind her before drifting off to sleep.

Somehow too tired to sleep, Gabriel watched the buildings go by, and go by, and go by. He twiddled his thumbs, whistled, stretched, played with his hair, made shapes in the water, and searched for shapes in the clouds. Finally, he couldn't take the quiet anymore. He wasn't born to be still and silent for so long. Even if she started out by snapping at him for waking her, she was going to break the cabin- er- boat fever he was feeling.

Looking at Quintessa, and once again thinking about how nice snuggling might be, he stuck out his hand and poked at her flank. For a moment, his hand stroked the thick fur indulgently. Then he remembered where he was and who he was petting. Good thing he believed the female was asleep. "Hey, you. Wakey-wakey."

Quintessa tensed up instantly when her fur was being stroked. She'd only been asleep for what felt like a few minutes, and by the look of the shore she was correct.

She rolled her human half over, propping her hand up on her hip to give him a droll stare. "Is this your way of asking me to get 'personal' with you? It's cute, but you should have asked earlier."

Pulling his hand back quickly, lest it get bitten off, his eyes turned in a heavy roll in preperation for a irritably sarcastic responce. His tone changed tactics at the last second though, shifting from irritated to amused. "Oh? I should have asked earlier, should I?" A big ol' grinflashed for the female. "I'll have to keep that in mind for later when you're not half asleep."

"So, anyway.... Are we there yet?" He stood carefully just to stretch his body. Sitting for so long was only good if one was sleeping.

Quintessa tossed her hair over her shoulder to expose her full silouette, then blew him a kiss. "What a shame," she pouted teasingly. "With the manacles we could have had all kinds of fun." She shrugged. "Too late now."

The sad thing was, she would still have accepted the offer, were he to push it.

The assasin rolled up onto her paws, stretching her arms above her head with a half-faked yawn. She scratched underneath her breast and had a look around. The shore was a ways away, but feeling of despair radiating from the island gave it away. "We are. Do you see that?" She pointed. "This is the island Til'Morte, the Order's homeland. Trust no one and keep one hand on your swo- Oh, well, never mind." She chirped cheerfully.

Suddenly fully exposed to the cattaur's beauty, Gabriel felt himself shiver. Gahhh- Too bad he figured she'd never go for a guy like him, even for one night, otherwise, pressing the issue would have been at the top of his agenda. "Oh, I'm just going to wait for a more convenient time to have our fun. Being rushed while escaping a crowd isn't as much fun as when you can... linger." It took a lot to keep from curling into a ball to hide from the temptation.

Finally! He looked over at the island... and wished to be anywhere else in the world. Even back at a drunk bar after being found cheating at cards. A nasty sword joke flitted into his mind, but the feel of the island weighed it down before it could really become conscious. All that came out was weak voice stating the obvious, "Don't have a sword..."

" Δεσμευμένο από αίμα είναι εμείς, οι καταστροφείς του την έντονη γραφή και την ελεύθερη. Μπορεί να μας εχθρούς γνωρίζουν μόνο το άγγιγμα του μας blade, και το κεντρί της roars μας πριν από το θάνατο."

Quintessa's whispered verse turned into a bold declaration the closer their vessel came to shore. She gripped the side of the boat with white knuckles, one hand reaching blindly for her spear. The moment she found it, she felt safer. The motto itself was as much a brand as the tattoo on her breast. It told of the slaves who boud themselves to the Order, and by restating it outloud, she knew exactly what she had to do.

Do or die, she was going to end this the right way. Whether or not that meant death for Gabriel.

The island itself was small, with shanty's build one ontop of the other. Dark forms slithered through the blackness with two things in common; scowls and weapons.

"Quin?"

Quintessa turned to see a buff cattaur covered in deep scars smiling and waving at her from the dock. She let out a sigh of relief. "Have some self respect, Terrance, and act your age." Still, she couldn't help, but smile.

"Oh posh." He jumped right into the fray and anchored the boat to the dock. "Whose your friend?" A slow grin spread out on his face when he saw the manacles. "Oh, ho ho ho~ Kitten's got herself a man. You know, you could have just asked him."

The only reason Gabriel wasn't hunkered in the back of the little boat was because Quintessa had him pulled toward the front where she stood talking in some odd language.

Though his heart pounded in his chest, and his tail and ears hung low, he tried to keep his head up. This place had so much to fear, he'd probably be sucked into the ground for showing too much of his own.

Blinking at the large cattaiur named Terrance, he forces his eyes to look around, to gain a sense of his surroundings. He mutters out a small reply, mainly just to make sure he was actually there and not dreaming. "Oh, I tried to tell her that. She thought this was more fun.."

Quintessa tossed out a couple words in her language that were clear insults. She tugged Gabriel up onto the dock with her with her hand looped into his. She gave it a squeeze for support. He was being awfully brave, given the circumstances, and she had to give him credit for it.

Terrance's booming laughter had her fur standing on end. "Of course she did! That's our kitten." He reached out to affectionately ruffle up her hair, even as she growl and swatted him away. "So, I suppose y'er here to get y'er payment for your mission, mm?"

"Something more dire than that. I need to speak with Master. Can you bring him here?" She didn't want to admit it outloud, but she was scared to bring Gabriel into the town. They'd eat him alive and use his bones for baby rattles.

"I suppose so," he scratched the back of his thick neck. "He's not gonna be happy 'bout it, though..." He turned tail and started walking away.
