Seth was undoubtedly late. Because of a good reason. Going back..

He had been kidnapped into a foreign car. However, the occupant was not so forien - well known as Seth's uncle, Shinra. Their conversation had erupted in;

"NO!"

"YES!"

"NO!"

"Yes."
His uncle emphasized. He held a foreign looking costume in one hand, while looking at Seth, narrowing his gaze. Seth didn't really see the point in halloween festivities, planning to catch up on sleep in his apartment. But his uncle wouldn't leave it at that. The last syllable was said with such firmness that it left no room for argument. That didn't mean Seth didn't try. "Don't you dare think of taking.. that off, agh..!" The sound came from him, as his shirt was quickly discarded. And he was dropped (or more accurately dumped) off to the entrance of the ball, ticket in hand in a white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland costume. It was slightly disheveled because of the forced dressing in such little time. His phone vibrated, Seth reading the text to see "I'll pick you up later~!". Meaning that he had no other choice then to stay considering that his house was halfway across town, as well as he had no transportation.

A monocle covered his right eye, while he was dressed in a vivid red coat. Beneath was the white dress shirt and black pants, Seth's finger pulling uncomfortable at the ribbon at his neck to loosen it somewhat. That was when he realized the strange presence upon his head. His hand felt at his head, realizing that even the white rabbit ears had been included.

After passing the ticket to the usher at the entrance, Seth leaned against a wall.

--

Senri had changed his costume from the reaper to a waiter. He had the white dress shirt, black vest, pants, and his hair tied into his customary ponytail. However, his vest laid open, Senri taking this event really casually. Even Senri liked to dress for an event, preferring not to overheat in the costume as well. It was unlikely, despite his costume, that he would be mistaken as a waiter for the event although he didn't put it past a few rich girls. There was a natural arrogance about him that said that Senri wasn't used to being ordered about. And there was the distinct threat looming in Senri's mind that given the mistake, the person would have a glass of water dumped on them.

"Haha, it seems like a pretty fun event~" Senri said cheerfully, his eyes scanning the horizon for any of the people that he knew. He hadn't come here with anybody, simply because it was too troublesome to do so.

There were a great deal of beautiful costumes. It was more or less of what he expected of the halloween ball. But the ball was really a good idea, Destiny City not having any major events (that didn't include the usual terrorists and youma, or bizarre happenings) in a while. Senri had to admit that he could get used to this, going over to the refreshment tables to pour himself a drink.

"You know, you really didn't have to get these tickets," Gabbie began as she fidgeted with her mask before finally putting it on. "It only makes me feel guilty when you spend so much on me."

She took a deep breath as she and her companion for the evening sat in his car, putting the finishing touches onto their costumes. Checking herself once more in the rearview mirror, she gave her sleek, low side ponytail a final pat and wondered yet again if she'd ben a little crazy to wear this dress tonight. Granted, she'd managed to find a nice, filmy underskirt to go with it that matched the silvers and jagged hemlines of the main bit, but still. This was more skin than she was used to showing outside of a night of patrolling.

"How did I let you talk me into this again?"

------------------------------

A soft, masculine chuckle came rumbling out of the man sitting beside Gabbie. His simple, deep forest green mask was already in place and his grey eyes picked up glints of the green. Strawberry blond hair had been left loose for tonight's event and Lean fingers were already artfully mussing it.

"You let me talk you into this because I rightfully pointed out that the last fancy party you attended was with a broken leg and a lot of old, pervs eying you like you were a piece of rare steak. Not exactly a combination for fun, m'lady. Besides, you look gorgeous, as usual and you should make more than a few jaws drop in that number."

The expenses involved in tonight's little jaunt didn't bother Hammie. In his eyes, he and Gabbie deserved some fun, she deserved to feel beautiful and since he was the one who got to dance with and stare at her all night, it was a win/win situation. Once he was certain that she was ready, he nodded and they got out of the car. Well, Gabbie got out. For Hammie's 6'8" frame, it was more of an unfolding. Once out into the brisk air, he gave his costume a few tweaks and smirked. He was fairly certain that no one would get their version of Quint and the Shark. Which was fine with him. Tweaking the deep, shimmering green of his vest and making sure that his surcoat wasn't acting up, he quickly moved around the car to offer his elbow to Gabbie.

"Well, m'lady, shall we?"

------------------------------------

Sparing a glance of admiration for her date's costume, Gabbie nodded and allowed herself to be swept into the building. She always felt like a tiny kid next to Hammie, but she couldn't deny that he knew how to use his height and rough good looks to advantage. Only a ren-fest nut would have thought of costumes like these, she thought, allowing herself to smile. And only someone like Hammie could pull off the ruffled, frilly shirt without looking like a scary woman. Hell, maybe tonight would be fun, she thought as she scanned the crowd for anyone she might know.

User Image -Gloria was likely pleased with the reaction she received, Aurora's mouth opening in a soft o of surprise as she made her declaration. She didn't mind lesbians, she thought they were a bit strange perhaps... but still.. Elegancia? Her cheeks flushed as Elegancia corrected the other girl gruffly, and she was thankful as the too parted, feeling very foolish for being tricked.

Laughing a little bit softly at herself, she turned towards the crowd with a dainty spin, taking a few swishing, dance worth steps across the floor. The place was incredibly full and she searched for some victim to talk to. Perhaps someone alone, or someone who looked incredibly bored? She'd have to work up her nerve towards attempting to pull people from groups later on in the evening.-

User Image -It turned out that hanging out by the punch bowl had given Aitana a very good view of the action. She wasn't really a people watcher by nature, but there was something about the evening that lent to it.

She watched a small group approach to admire the cake, she watched another larger group mill about the food. Yet another girl seemed to have slipped something into the punch, a motion that needed no translation to her and received an amused grin.

She'd spotted a costume that was a little bit like hers on a tall and older carmael skinned lady. The woman looked busy, though she was doing nothing more than walking around, and Aitana had started to move to catch her, intent on complimenting her. But something stopped her dead in her tracks, making her set her clean glass of punch onto the table.

Her eyes set like a beast on prey to a small figure that floated across the dance floor. Pristine and white like a princess, hair a candy pink in buns that came to a strange point. It was almost upsetting the undescribeble feeling of deja vu, of knowing.

Maybe... maybe she recognized the costume? Maybe it was being pulled off so well that it was doing this to her? But she couldn't place it off the top of her head. Unable to place the feeling Aitana plodded her way straight over, not bothering to wait for the young girl to stop speaking before she inserted herself into the conversation.- "Hello."

"You are who?" -She asked, dropping the silly 'ssssss' she'd been adding to her speech for fun earlier, leaving her with just a heavily Brazilian accent.- "Costume is very familiar I think."

Lily smiled, but held up her hand showing she did not need the handkerchief. If she took it she would really have no idea what to do with it. She was not dirty and she was not crying.

She listen to him speak of his costume and grinned when she was told she was indeed right that costume was not see often outside of carnivals and performers. She raised an unseen eyebrow at the mention of him being mistaken for his brother, though she could hardly see how it was possible in the costume he was wearing. She had not seen Elzo and did not know they boy was wearing the same costume.

"It is quite fitting since the ball is the end to the Halloween carnival. It fits the theme of the Halloween ball quite well," she said softly before a girl and her friend walked up in an adorable costumes.

"Hello," she greeted them, "your costumes are lovely."

Marlo bowed to her and she gave a curtsy and she nodded to the boy, "Yes, yes we can talk later. Have a good dance," she said moving away and heading straight for Azzo, her sister forgotten and her good mood returned.

It seemed as though Lily would not be making her way over to Azzo just yet as Aurora crept into her view once more. Lily turned and made her way toward the girl calling out as she came closer. She did not wish to loose the girl once again.

"Aurora," she called, "hey Aurora."

As soon as she reached the girl she gave a wide grin looking over the girls costume, it was so lovely and so blue. With Aurora hair she really did look like a snow princess.

"Oh Aurora, you look so lovely. I bet that you will spend many hours on the dance floor. Every guy here will want a dance with you," Lily said with a bright smile and bright eyes.

-Her search was cut short as yet another person recognized her but it was a quite welcome distraction. She had the whole night to work up her nerve, and for now she just felt pleased to be such a hot commodity. Slipping in close to the familiar figure, she smiled pleasantly.- "Lily!"

-She had to weave around a person or two before she finally stopped close enough for the two to talk without calling out, admiring the other girls costume in return.- "I wouldn't mind being swept off for a few dances, but I think you might give me some stiff competition. Certainly the boys would be crazy to leave such a pretty ballerina waiting" -Her soft laugh was hidden behind a gloved hand.-

"Actually..."

"If you haven't had your first one yet, I'd be happy to escort you in your first dance." -What a request! Especially for Aurora. Atleast she wouldn't have to worry about any ill placed hands or what not.-

"You forgot?" Eve recoiled in mock horror and then elbowed Marlo lightly in retaliation. "I'm insulted, my dear man, considering the circumstances in which you asked me to the prom..." She trailed off, not going into the details. An impish grin lit up the visible features of her face, signifying that she remembered the amusing event pretty well as she took the hand offered. When the other girl approached, Eve looked at her quizzically. Did she know her too? She thought the other girl looked familiar and tried to help in figuring out her identity by chipping in a question. "Were you at Jada's ball?" That had been such a whirl with some good fun in dragging (poor) Seth along with her.

...Come to think of it, wasn't that Seth in the corner right there? With white rabbit ears? Perhaps she would give him a good bother later if he was still sulking around and refusing to join the festivities! Besides, he didn't seem to mind her company, and Eve hated to see people she knew not having a good time!

Lily laughed lightly at the girls statement, "thankies Rori," she said although thinking herself no hot commodity and thinking that the boys would go for the slightly taller more curvy Aurora, but she had to admit it was nice to recieve such compliments.

Lily laughed again at the thought that occurred to her after Aurora asked her to dance. She of course held out a hand happy to dance with her friend. Easy and unawkward, was really the best first dance of the night. "It would be my pleasure to have my first dance with you Aurora."

Going back to her thought she giggled, "You know maybe we should have a contest. We can see who will get the most dances. Maybe if we see Rose, Bell and Selena we can pull them in too. I think it might be amusing and a little friendly competition might help with nerves when it comes to speaking with others,"

Lily really had no problems speaking to anyone, be them a complete stranger, younger or older, but chances were one of the other might.

"Sounds like fun" -She grinned from behind her mask, taking the other girl's hand lightly to lead her a little further from the milling people to where they could actually move around a bit. There was little chance she'd win, but it was just the sort of thing to add a bit of fun to the night. Give her something to do other then sit and wait. A competition it was.-

"Just keep truthful about your count" -She teased softly, not that she believed the other girl, or girls for that matter would. She'd always been the trusting sort, especially with people she was connected to in such a special way.

Her staff was a little bulky and in the way, for future dances she might need to ask someone to hold it, but the two were experienced enough dancers that it didn't cripple their efforts. Crystal ladies certainly could dance, they looked lovely in fact with their dual dresses swaying with motion.

Sweeping each other around to a slow and crawling tune quite appropriate for the occassion Aurora couldn't help to grin and laugh a little more. This was already more fun then the debutante ball, and she's had a blast there. The night was shaping up well!

((I'm off to hit a few sales and see Saw so if you want to end the dance before I get back feel free to puppet Aurora's goodbye!! :3 ))

Lily smiled when Aurora agreed to their little competition. It would most certainly would be a fun night and Lily was now really excited. She wondered if this dance counted toward their count, but thought it would be silly. Their counts would rise to quickly if they included girls too, fore surely they take a spin about with most of their friends.

Moving about the dance floor to the Halloween tune was high amusing and Lily could not help but to laugh, "Yes, honesty is the best policy," she said in response to Aurora's request to their counts.

Dancing was so much fun and she hardly realized when the song had come to an end and another beginning, though it was obvious they had come in on the tail end of the song, but she was having fun so she could hardly complain.

((Will be leaving shortly too ... if you get back before me you can most certainly puppet Lily's goodbye))

"De nalgas," Gloria said though Elegancia had provided no thanks. She pulled from her cup until the punch was gone, "I don't buy it either. Guess we're even. Buen provecho or whatever."

She lifted her empty cup in toast, then flicked her it at a nearby trashcan as she moved to Elegancia's side, arms folding beneath her chest. Her brow swept up, exotic punch? Really? She almost felt bad, almost, considering the hardest drink the other girl had probably ever had was sparkling cider. Oh well, there was a first time for everything. Logic made more sense when it was a friend's and not her own.

"Our definitions of 'finer things' are probably miles apart," she said, watching guests mill about on the dance floor. This place needed more bass, more hard beats. Gloria leaned against the wall, "My plus one couldn't make it."

She fished around in her clutch and pulled out gloss, "Not that it's a bad thing--" she punctuated her words by stabbing the air with the gloss stick "-- coming to a party by yourself. Shows character, I guess. God, this music blows. Is that Tony Stark?"

Gloria blinked, shrugged, then sealed her lips and dumped the gloss back into her purse. Maybe she could finagle a wall-flower to dance with her; she was half afraid she towered over most of the boys in the room.

Teh Angel Yuna
"I guess that's how things go some times" Bell replied, feeling bad that such would happen to him. That was chased away though by his hand with hers. She followed her next inclination to lean her head against his shoulder, embarrassment be damned!...and she certainly did have a light blush, and she was somewhat worried about how he'd react. She had been doing good to resist playing with his hair - and oh, she has wanted to.

"At least we've saved each other from a very boring Halloween, ne?" She looked up at him with an adoring smile.

It was odd, to have someone this close to him and... not mind. Not at all. Usually people too close to him was irritating, though he rarely voiced that irritation - but not her. Not Bell. It felt almost as if she belonged there, right there, and that she probably never should move away again.

Didn't mean he wasn't blushing, through. "Thankfully." He smiled, his cake now completely forgotten.

Trouble had made its approach to the ball, in the form of a tiny cream-colored kitten and her manx companion. Neither had many memories, but if there was one thing that resounded truthfully in the diminutive cat's mind, it was that where there was a ball, there was cake. And not just any cake, mind you. Cake was even the wrong word when you thought of the sugary, delicious masterpiece of culinary art that usually was attributed to such fancy gettogethers. Derpraline was perhaps thinking of a wedding not a ball, but it didn't matter.

Cake was cake, and almost as good as waffles. If it were a waffle cake, she might as well die now for life would never achieve higher heights! "Course Derp can climb, *********!" Duhr had taught her how to climb trees, though she'd always been oddly deft at navigating the concrete and metal jungles of the inner city. Claws attached themselves to the bark and climbed up, calling down at her pale companion excitedly. "Derp can seeee it Heeebeee~ It's so big ohmigosh! Hurry hurry!" It was going to be so easy in her mind! After all, who paid attention to two cats?

----

Across the ballroom, Allie was considering if it would be terribly rude to cling to Serenade's hand like a small child. Something that she had always regretted losing as she grew older, was the ability to cling to a friendly hand and hide behind a pair of safe legs when things grew uncertain. Amusement lit her entire face at the idea of her ever being so timid as a child, however. It wasn't a shy, timid little girl who had stolen her mama's crystal, fled to the past, and then tried to steal yet another one!

No, no one would ever be able to truly call Usagi timid! So Allie had to be brave and look back onto that little girl for things she sometimes worried were lost forever in her personality. "It is so pretty here, you look so...like a princess almost? I am one, but you look like one. Is there sense there? I am not so good at this still." Hands touched her glittering hips in impatience, with a bit of a scoffing laugh at her own expense. "You did not have a date?" Tact was something she'd thankfully never gained!

----

Audrey was more than a bit stumped at the request for time, then the walking away that Elzo was currently doing. Gold eyes followed him, bewildered until she could no longer find him in the milling crowd. Eyes had seen Eve as they'd danced though, and of course, she was standing with Marlo. What she saw in him stumped her, but then, nobody saw what she did in Elzo. It was only fair that someone could find something worthwhile in the Scrooge of the Xanis boys.

She'd started to move in that direction, when something bright red and familiar caught her eyes. Vivianite - no, Vera Valentine on the arm of a slick man, both of them done up like they were about to disdainfully buy Destiny City and turn it into a salted field. They went wide, and a grin split the general's features as she put her shoulders back and tried to saunter casually over in their direction.

"Hello there Vera! Did you finally ditch Janice?" Mischief twinkled in her eyes. She wouldn't have recognized Fitzpatrick without her 'girlfriend', it was rather remarkable!

-The song ended and the two girls seperated, parting ways with playful smiles and laughter, each on their own mission in the competition. Aurora headed the opposite direction of Lily, figuring that her chances were better without having competition for the same men.

She didn't intend to fling herself on anyone and everyone like some floozy, though it would have easily boosted her numbers. But she did intend to play hard. Another song started and Aurora set her sights on the scattered handful of men that didn't have a woman already slung on their arm.-

-The snake haired girl seemed flabbergasted at first at being ignored, staring as the little princess chatted on with a larger one. Perhaps they'd just been too engrossed in their conversation and hadn't noticed her voice amongst all the other background noise.

She'd been about to 'tap' the pink haired girl when suddenly she noticed something about her voice. It was foreign. Not Brazilian foreign.. but something not quite normal. Aitana's interogation was sedated for the moment, though she continued to stand there, awkwardly staring at the other girl trying to recall. Maybe she'd just seen her in one of those 'welcome to being an exchange student' classes and that was where this weird deja vu was coming from.-

Vera wasn't entirely sure who had come up with the idea to dress as Tony Stark and Pepper Pots; all she knew at this point was that she felt woefully underdressed for this occasion. She was very close to just asking if they could leave now, please, when Audrey Collins made her way over. Well, that was one person she recognized. Kind of.

"No," she replied simply, quirking an eyebrow. It was obvious who her companion was, right?

...Perhaps it was only obvious to Vera. At any rate, who else would she have come with? Maybe Spinel, but...Vera quickly chopped off that train of thought and fished about for something else to say.

"That's a very lovely costume," the girl said instead of offering any sort of explanation for where Janice was.
